1 Compliance The basic rules for all marketing communications are that they must be legal and
honest. Never use images that may be considered indecent.
2 Recognition of

When making an advert you need to make it clear that it’s an advert. Make sure
the advert has a logo, slogan, images to show what the product looks like and
explicitly state the product to ensure the audience know its an advert.
AN ADVERY Misleading Adverts Marketing communications that are alleged to be misleading may have to deal
with the consumer protection from unfair trading regulations 2008. you can’t lie
about the product, its functions or price.
4 Harm and Offence To make sure that ads do not cause harm to the consumer you must include rules
to ensure the safety of all those that may be in harms way. For example include
rules relating to shock tactics, unsafe practice and photosensitive epilepsy. Your
advert can not be bias to any social group or a particular person.
5 Children When advertising children products you cannot promote dangerous behaviour or
pressure children to buy your products. You must include rules about unsafe
practices and how to you the product to ensure the safety of children.
6 Privacy If you include a celebrity or a well known in your advert you must have written
permission. You must not unfairly portray or refer to anyone in an offensive way
unless you have written consent.
13 Food, food
supplements
and associated health
or nutritional claims
You must not condone or encourage poor nutritional habits or
unhealthy lifestyle to children or adults. If the product has health
benefits you must have proof to back it up.
4. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this mind map are that it clearly shows all of your ideas without getting
confused or annoyed that you cant reads your writing. Because this mind map was completed on
a website it means it was a lot easier to copy the mind map on to the power point.
• Weaknesses of using this method
The weakness of using this method is that if I accidently deleted the power point I would lose all
the work on my mind map, because I used a website to create the mind amp in the first place if
anyone were to claim it wasn’t my work I would have no proof except the website and power
point otherwise.

I liked using this method because it aloud me to get on with my work easier and faster then if I
were to do the mind map by hand. Another reason I liked using this method is because I have
problems reading my own writing because I have poor reading and writing skills.
6. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using a mood bored are that it helps you think of ideas on how you want
your product to look and what type of theme you want your product to be associated with.
For example, I have chosen to do a Halloween themed coca cola advert because I have
discovered that coca cola haven't done many adverts during the season.
• Weaknesses of using this method
The weaknesses of using a mood board are the temptation to copy someone else's coca
cola advert. It is very important that all work is your own to ensure that no one can claim
plagiarism.

I like using this method because during the process of completing my mood board it has given me
some great ideas to help the progress of my coca cola advert.
8. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using a style sheet is that you can test different fonts to figure out which
fonts would work best with your advert.
• Weaknesses of using this method
The weakness of using a style sheet is that it can waste time picking/choosing the fonts.
Another reason is that because it was done using a computer there is a possibility It could
be lost be forgetting to save my work.

I like using this method because if you monitor your time carefully whilst choosing the fonts it can
help out in the long term for your product, this because if you have your font already to go it will
really speed up the process of the product.

The strengths of using this method is that It gives me idea on what my final product might
look like.
Another strength of using this method is that I will gain more vision on how I could improve
my product and what type of direction I want to take with it.

It’s quite hard to think of ideas when you haven’t had a lot of time to research and develop
them.

I like using this method because it will help the process of making the product and also improve
my ideas to make the product more successful.

• Strengths of using this method
– The strengths of using a brainstorm is that you can adapt your ideas easier so you don’t
have to think of all in your head and get confused
– Another strength is that because we worked in groups we had more ideas and
contributions towards the radio advert.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Because we worked in groups whilst brainstorming we didn’t always agree on ideas
brought to the plate. This caused some arguments but we sorted out the disagreements
in the end.

- I liked using this method because it gave me a chance to hear other peoples opinions
towards my ideas and also to help develop them.

– The strengths of using this method are that it can help you understand how to
pitch ideas across so that people get a understanding of what you want your advert

organise your pitch it can put a strain on your ideas and your final product.

– The strengths of using this method were that it helped us think of ideas more
clearly about what we wanted are video to represent.

– The weaknesses of using this method were that not everyone in our group
agreed on certain ideas.

- overall a liked using this method because it gave us a chance as a group to think
of ideas together.

– Because we completed the formal pitch before we started to shoot for the
video advert it made the video production a lot easier.

– We didn’t have much time to complete the formal pitch so it felt like we had
to rush to finish.

– It helped us plan out what that video would look like before we started to

– we found it hard to sketch the story boards because no one in our group can
draw very well.

- overall I didn’t like using this method because it caused arguments in the group,
which made the process of the storyboards take longer than necessary.
22. Initial Reaction
• I have to make a advergame that advertises Coca Cola. The
game must be made on a 320 (H) by 480 (W) canvas. In order
to meet the regulations I will use Photoshop because it’s very
reliable. In order for me to make this advergame successful I
will practise with the tools needed on Photoshop.

will struggle sketching ideas and may be self conscious about showing their
work.

– A strength of using a formal proposal are that it helps
organise how I want the advergame to come across.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– It can limit what I want to do and also rush the final
product so that it is not as good and creative as
planned.

I didn’t like using this method because it was very time
consuming so that it limited how much work I could put in on my
advergame.
