2. Existing Product
This photo was taken from a Christmas tree farm when the trees were ready to be chopped so
that they can be sold. The angle of the shot is about a 90 degree angle showing half the row of
Christmas and a glance of the forest in the background. The main colour in the image is green.
This is because the photo was taken out side in a field next to a forest. the lighting for this image
was natural from the sun and daylight. I think this image will appeal to all ages. This is because
the image might be advertised to families to come get buy a real Christmas tree so children will
get very excited and the adults because it would be a nice family outing. This photo will similar
to mine because I want to take photos of the natural side of Christmas.
3. Existing ProductThis photo was taken In
an actual family living
room. The shot is on a
slight angle with the lens
focused on one bauble
with the background of
a Christmas tree
covered with fairy lights
un focused making the
bauble stand out with
the reflections of the
fairy lights from the
Christmas tree. The
lighting in the room is
very dim so that the
fairy lights on the
Christmas tree can
illuminate the baubles.
The main colour is the photo is gold. This is because the bauble that is
focused in the shot is gold. The fairy lights in the image are multi-coloured
red, yellow/gold, green and blue, giving the photo more colour which will
add attraction to the photo. I think this image will appeal more to the
older generation because children might think that the image is boring.
4. Existing Product
This photo was taken is a
studio. The angle of the
image is lights is slightly of
centre with a rack focus on
the snow man cup cake,
with baubles in the
background blurred out.
They used floor lamps so
that they had bright lighting
on the image to make it
stand out. The main colours
used are white, red, gold
and green, this is because
theses colours are typical
Christmas colours.
I think this will appeal to all
ages. This is because the
snow man on top of the cup
cake would appeal to little
children and try and
convince their parents to
buy them the cup cake. This
would appeal to middle
ages adults and over
because they typically like
neat and tidy well packed
cup cakes.
5. Existing Product
This photo was taken with a black and white film camera from the 1960s during Christmas. This photo
was taken in London with direct focus making the street look symmetrical, especially with the Christmas
lights that match perfectly from both sides of the road. It was unlikely that the photographer used any
post production on this image because in the 1960s they had very limited recourses. I think that this
photo appeals to middle aged adults the most because the image will remind them of the past memories
at Christmas time. I want to take a shot like this for my portfolio because I like how the lights are
organised over the busy streets of London.
