Number Name Brief Description
1 Compliance Being compliant in advertising means that your
advert doesn’t break any laws by being either racist
or discriminatory etc. and is truthful about what the
product/service actually is.
2 Recognition of
marketing
communications
This means that an advert would have to have
images relevant to the product to help show what
the product is about, for example having a logo or a
slogan to help people understand what the product
actually is/does.
3 Misleading Adverts A company cannot lie about what their product
is/does to try entice people to buy it as that would
be false advertising and would attract a lot of
unhappy customers.
4 Harm and Offence An advert is not allowed to be targeted in a
discriminatory or negative way at groups pf people
as it would cause offence, this also means the script
would have to be checked and also the images used
to make sure that it does not offend anyone.
5 Children An advert cannot put pressure on a child to buy a
