2. Process
The first screen shot I took was half
Way through my cover page. As you
Can see I had lots of detail to add in
For my cover page to be complete.
I decided the title of my cover page
Because it’s very simple and tells
the audience straight away what
the magazine will be about. The
font I used for the title was found
on Da fonts.com. I chose this font
because I thought it made the
magazine cover stand out. I decided
To use mainly black and white on the
Cover because it makes the tittle in
Red stand out more and be more eye
Catching to the audience.
3. Process This screen shot shows my final
Cover page design. As you can see
The final design has more detail
And information all over the page,
This is so my cover is more attractive
To my audience. I have added an
issue number so it gives the
The audience the impression that
It’s a real magazine and is also quite
Successful. The blue lines you can
see are guide line that I put in place
So that everything on the left of the
Page all perfectly in line and not all
At different lengths. I decided that
I wanted the main focus of my cover
to be bowie because of his resent
Passing and that it would attract a
Much bigger fan base. The bottom
Where I put bowies names I used
Effects so it had an almost 3D effect
On the cover so that it would stand
Out more
4. Process
This is my first attempt at a double
page spread. As you can see its not
got much detail and half the page
doesn’t work very well with the other,
this is because I haven’t used font
effects like I have on the other side.
the effects I need to improve would
be a colour overlay and a colour
outline so that the text properly fits in
with the rest of my double paged
spread. I have space on the left hand
side that needs to be filled, but I wold
need to be careful not to over crowed
the page. The photos used are good
because people don’t always
recognise bands for their name, more
for what the bands looks like, so the
photos help jog the audiences minds.
5. Process
the final version of my double paged
spread turned out quite good, but still
could have improved more If I had
more time to add more detail.
Compared to my first version of my
first double paged spread I have
improved massively. As you can see I
have used font effects on the text on
the right so that it ties in more with
the rest of my double page spread. I
have also added anther photo on the
left hand side with the rest to there
would be not blank space on the
page. I have used a reverse out on my
work because I feel that using them
help my work stand out more and
attracts more people.
6. Process
This screen shot shows my first
attempt at my second double page
spread. As you can see its very basic
with very little detail. I have used a
rota scope tool so that the photo in
the bottom right corner could be red
and lead singer/guitarist Eddie Vedder
could be in normal colour. I put the
first letter of the article in a bigger
font and also so in a bigger colour so
that it clear on where to start reading
the article. On the right hand side of
the article I decided to put the pearl
jam stick man that represents the
band to try and help bring the article
to life.
7. Process
the final version of my second double
page spread improved massively from
my first attempt. As you can see I have
added a red box around tour dates for
pearl, I have done this that they stand
and tie in with the three main colours
for this particular double paged
spread. I have also added a border
around two of the photos, one at
diagonal sides of the page, I have
done this also to help the colours tie
in together. In the right hand corner
of the page I have added a page
number so that people will know how
far they are reading through my
article. Overall I think that I have don’t
a good job creating a double paged
spread.
8. Process
This screen shot shows a nearly
completed double paged spread. I
decided to show you a nearly
completed version of my work to
show you what I can do with the
everything on this doubled paged yet
still change the layout completely.
Everything you see on this screen shot
is all the same on the next just
reorganised to look more professional
and detailed, when in fact its not.
9. Process
In this screen shot you can see my final
version of my last double paged spread. I
think that this is my favourite piece of
work in this unit purely because I
experimented with different effects and
tried new thing to see how tit looked on
my doubled paged spread. I used opacity
in order to create make my background. I
haven't seen many magazines use
opacity for backgrounds on double paged
spread so I thought it might be a unique
thing to do. You may have noticed that in
every double paged spread I have put
photos on slants, I have done this
because think that it makes both the
photo and page look more interesting.
