Number Name Brief Description
1 Compliance Being compliant in advertising means that your
advertisement doesn’t break the law doesn’t lie
about the product/ service being advertised and
that is doesn’t show indecent images.
2 Recognition of
marketing
communications
This means when making an advert it needs to
follow the conventions of a usual advert meaning it
needs to contain images, logos and slogans. It also
needs to state the product clearly.
3 Misleading Adverts A company when advertising needs to not lie about
a product or service their promoting so customers
know what product/service they are purchasing
4 Harm and Offence An advert cannot intentionally offend a certain
people or a group of people and also they cant use
disturbing imagery or content to offend people
5 Children An advert cannot promote dangerous behaviour in
children or pressure them into buying products
6 Privacy An advert must require consent of all people in the
advert or this is considered copyright of someone's

• Strengths of using this method
A mind map lets you put all your ideas down clearly and can help make a
plan for a project clearly. Another strength of this method is if I have
done it digitally I can email and use it on other devices.
• Weaknesses of using this method
A weakness of using a mind map could be that you cant go in to as much
description with your ideas.

• I liked this method as it is clear and easy to get a good idea and a plan to
start making a project.

• Strengths of using this method
– A strength of a mood board is that I can people visualize their project.
– It can show you what your ideas look like together
– If done digitally it can be sent to other devices to be changed
• Weaknesses of using this method
– It can be very repetitive copy and pasting images
– Sometimes it doesn't’t fully develop an idea

• No as it is vey repetitive looking for similar photographs.

Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
– some strengths of a style sheet is that you can find a good variety of
fonts and colours to use on a project. Another strength is that a style
can be sent between devices and edited on other devices
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Can take a lot of time trying to choose the right fonts to fit in with your
product.
– Not every website has every font library so sometimes fonts can be
limited and some can cost money

I liked this method as it was good way to get a variety of colours and fonts.

– A strength of using this method is that you can get clear idea of how your
poster is going to look
– Another strength of using this method is that you can experiment with the
layout so that you can choose the best one

end up changing the idea.

– A strength of using a brainstorm is that it helps to create an idea

– A weakness of a brainstorm is that you cant go in to full detail on the
brainstorm.
– A weakness of a brainstorm could be you have too large of a variety of
ideas to choose one

• I like this method as it is quick and easy to make and also helps create an
idea.
Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
– One strength is that you can use the feedback given to help improve
the final product.
– Another strength is that the feedback can help expand your ideas of
your advert
• Weaknesses of using this method
– The informal pitch could be to someone who wants the advert to look
a certain way which could not be anything to do with the pitch.

• I like using this method as you can gain crucial feedback which can help
finish or improve your final product.
Formal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
– A strength of doing a formal pitch is that you can gain feedback on your final plan
so a group can make any last minute changes to improve the final product.
– A strength of doing a formal pitch is that it’s the final plan that everyone in a team
has agreed on.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• A weakness of doing a formal pitch is that you could have to make massive changes to
your final product which can be time consuming when trying to meet a deadline.
• A weakness of doing a formal pitch is that you could have members of the team missing
to receive feedback on the final pitch

• I liked this method as it can help a group perfect their final product before a
deadline
Initial Reaction
• I am going to create an advergame on Photoshop for coca
cola. The advergame will have an animation. It will be created
with pixel art. The game is based on coca cola so the game will
incorporate coca cola in some way to advertise coca cola.
Firstly I will make some sketches to get a rough idea of how
the game will look. Then we will put the game together with
Photoshop and finalise and evaluate the final product. In my
opinion my first thoughts were that I was going to struggle
with the work as I was unsure on how to use the software to
create the game.

– A strength of using this method is that you can generate strong ideas
– Another strength of using this method is that you can produce ideas quicker
when working in a group
• Weaknesses of using this method
– A weakness of using this method is it can take a while to generate ideas
– Another weakness of this method is that there is no evidence of ideas

• I liked using this method as it’s a good was to get good ideas in a group

– A strength of using this method is that it gives you an outline of how
you want your advergame to look
– A strength of using this method is that I can plan the colour scheme
and do the smaller details before use pixel art.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– A weakness of using this method is that you could sketch something
basic and not realise how detailed you can make your advergame in
pixel art.

• I liked using this method as it gave a clear understanding of what you had
to do before starting on the pixel art.
Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
– A strength of a formal proposal is that you get a clear understanding of
what your product should be presenting.
– Another strength is it shows a clear understanding of the audience you
should be presenting your product to.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• A weakness of using this method is if you do this before creating your product
you may be unclear about certain criteria like the audience or slogan.
• Another weakness of using this method is that it could be time consuming to
do and could delay the project making you not meet deadlines.

ASA Codes Number Name Brief Description 1 Compliance Being compliant in advertising means that your advertisement doesn’t break the law doesn’t lie about the product/ service being advertised and that is doesn’t show indecent images. 2 Recognition of marketing communications This means when making an advert it needs to follow the conventions of a usual advert meaning it needs to contain images, logos and slogans. It also needs to state the product clearly. 3 Misleading Adverts A company when advertising needs to not lie about a product or service their promoting so customers know what product/service they are purchasing 4 Harm and Offence An advert cannot intentionally offend a certain people or a group of people and also they cant use disturbing imagery or content to offend people 5 Children An advert cannot promote dangerous behaviour in children or pressure them into buying products 6 Privacy An advert must require consent of all people in the advert or this is considered copyright of someone's
  • 4. Mind Map • Strengths of using this method A mind map lets you put all your ideas down clearly and can help make a plan for a project clearly. Another strength of this method is if I have done it digitally I can email and use it on other devices. • Weaknesses of using this method A weakness of using a mind map could be that you cant go in to as much description with your ideas. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I liked this method as it is clear and easy to get a good idea and a plan to start making a project.

Mood Board • Strengths of using this method – A strength of a mood board is that I can people visualize their project. – It can show you what your ideas look like together – If done digitally it can be sent to other devices to be changed • Weaknesses of using this method – It can be very repetitive copy and pasting images – Sometimes it doesn't’t fully develop an idea • Did you like using this method? Why? • No as it is vey repetitive looking for similar photographs.
  • 8. Style Sheet • Strengths of using this method – some strengths of a style sheet is that you can find a good variety of fonts and colours to use on a project. Another strength is that a style can be sent between devices and edited on other devices • Weaknesses of using this method – Can take a lot of time trying to choose the right fonts to fit in with your product. – Not every website has every font library so sometimes fonts can be limited and some can cost money • Did you like using this method? Why? I liked this method as it was good way to get a variety of colours and fonts.

Layout Plan • Strengths of using this method – A strength of using this method is that you can get clear idea of how your poster is going to look – Another strength of using this method is that you can experiment with the layout so that you can choose the best one • Weaknesses of using this method • A Weakness of using this method is that it may not be the final idea and could end up changing the idea. • Another weakness of using this method is that it • Did you like using this method? Brainstorm • Strengths of using this method – A strength of using a brainstorm is that it helps to create an idea – Another strength is that its quick and easy to create • Weaknesses of using this method – A weakness of a brainstorm is that you cant go in to full detail on the brainstorm. – A weakness of a brainstorm could be you have too large of a variety of ideas to choose one • Did you like using this method? Why? • I like this method as it is quick and easy to make and also helps create an idea.

Informal Pitch • Strengths of using this method – One strength is that you can use the feedback given to help improve the final product. – Another strength is that the feedback can help expand your ideas of your advert • Weaknesses of using this method – The informal pitch could be to someone who wants the advert to look a certain way which could not be anything to do with the pitch. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I like using this method as you can gain crucial feedback which can help finish or improve your final product.

Formal Pitch • Strengths of using this method – A strength of doing a formal pitch is that you can gain feedback on your final plan so a group can make any last minute changes to improve the final product. – A strength of doing a formal pitch is that it’s the final plan that everyone in a team has agreed on. • Weaknesses of using this method • A weakness of doing a formal pitch is that you could have to make massive changes to your final product which can be time consuming when trying to meet a deadline. • A weakness of doing a formal pitch is that you could have members of the team missing to receive feedback on the final pitch Did you like using this method?   • 15. Initial Reaction • I am going to create an advergame on Photoshop for coca cola. The advergame will have an animation. It will be created with pixel art. The game is based on coca cola so the game will incorporate coca cola in some way to advertise coca cola. Firstly I will make some sketches to get a rough idea of how the game will look. Then we will put the game together with Photoshop and finalise and evaluate the final product. In my opinion my first thoughts were that I was going to struggle with the work as I was unsure on how to use the software to create the game.

Sketches • Strengths of using this method – A strength of using this method is that it gives you an outline of how you want your advergame to look – A strength of using this method is that I can plan the colour scheme and do the smaller details before use pixel art. • Weaknesses of using this method – A weakness of using this method is that you could sketch something basic and not realise how detailed you can make your advergame in pixel art. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I liked using this method as it gave a clear understanding of what you had to do before starting on the pixel art.

Formal Proposal • Strengths of using this method – A strength of a formal proposal is that you get a clear understanding of what your product should be presenting. – Another strength is it shows a clear understanding of the audience you should be presenting your product to. • Weaknesses of using this method • A weakness of using this method is if you do this before creating your product you may be unclear about certain criteria like the audience or slogan. • Another weakness of using this method is that it could be time consuming to do and could delay the project making you not meet deadlines. • Did you like using this method?
