Production Process Evaluation
Research
When researching for my audio podcast I researched several different similar
existing product in order to get I feeling on what and what not to include in
my podcast. The strengths to researching similar products to my own made it
a lot easier for me to write the script for my podcast. Another strength when
researching for my audio podcast was looking at sound effects on YouTube
and other popular sites. This helped me because it helped figure out what
time of style I wanted to make my podcast i.e. formal or informal. The
weaknesses when researching for my podcast were that I a felt rushed and I
felt like I would have been more successful when creating and editing my
podcast. If I were to improve my product I would have put more time into
researching on how to edit podcasts properly so that my product would
sound professional.
Planning
When planning for my podcast I created a schedule in order to make sure I
was on track with my work at all times. This was a strength because the
schedule kept me on target at all times which I normally struggle with during
the production of assignments. Another strength was creating a script this
also helped a lot because it meant that when developing my podcast I had
the script at all time to be like guide lines when recording my podcast. The
weaknesses when planning my product were that after I started my pre
production I thought of another Idea that I thought I could do better but
because of the tight frame we have to complete each task I couldn’t re start
the product even if it meant that my overall grade on this unit were to
increase. If I were to plan my product again I would try and think of as many
ideas as possible so that even if I thought of another idea mid way through a
unit I know that I already tried my hardest to think of the best possible idea.
Time Management
I think that I managed my time real through the duration of this product. This
is because I created a schedule and kept up to date with it daily and also
created a tick list so that I had a constant reminder what I have to do and
what I’ve completed. I also completed some work at home just to make sure I
completed all my assignments on time. If I had more time to complete my
product I would have added more special effects to my podcast and also
made sure that all my audio files were properly sorted in the correct places.
Target Audience Appeal
I think that my audio podcast will appeal to my target audience. This is
because the genre of my podcast is very popular from the ages 16 to 24. The
genre of my podcast Is indie rock because the band I reviewed mainly play
this type of music so in order to avoid a strictly kept the music in this genre
except for two short clips in the podcast which were only added for
entertainment purposes. When planning the podcast I didn’t say a specific
gender because I think that my podcast would appeal to all genders. My
target audience. My Psychographic audience I chose was belonger. This is
because I think that my audience will be very loyal to the podcast and want to
listen to future podcasts. I think that my podcast will appeal to all social
statuses because music isn’t targeted based on social standings because
that’s not how music works, it doesn’t matter what social status you have,
you can’t help what type of music you like.
Aural Qualities
I think that my work generally sounded quite good. I think that my product
sound good because I made sure that there was never a dull moment in order
to keep my podcast up beet and entertaining at all times. I think that my
podcast was creative because I used special effects on my audio files in order
to make my voice more vivid and weird to add interest to my audio recording.
The main aspect of my podcast I like the most is where I’m talking about why I
enjoyed king no one live. I start getting deep and then I apologise to my
audience. Justin bieber sorry comes on and I make a little joke about the
whole situation. This is my favourite part because I found it really funny
record then later on edit it all together. If I were to improve this is would try
and make the whole podcast more professional by re recording certain parts.
This is because in certain parts I stumble on words.
Technical Qualities
The hyperlink beneath this text shows a podcast similar to mine. This podcast
is similar to mine because this particular podcaster does regular shows about
albums and live performances. The podcast itself is pretty straight forward
with no special effects except slight reverb on the voice just to make the voice
more interesting for the audience to watch. The language the podcaster used
was formal but informal at the time, making the the feel of the podcast up
beat and lifting. The difference between this podcast and my own is that I
specifically talk about live performances and also mix it up a bit with some of
my own stories when watching a band live, whether the podcast I’m
comparing to talks about various things like new album releases and gives his
opinion which isn’t always the nicest.

– I agree that I need to edit the volume levels on the
podcast in order to n=make the podcast sound
one level.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree with the stutters on words because I
think that it makes my podcast sound more real
then all really edited and fake sounding.
Peer Feedback Summary
Overall I think that I would change how I edited my podcast because I felt
very rushed when editing my audio files. At the end of every audio file I
recorded there is a quite clicking noise when stopping recording on the audio
recorder. In order for my to edit theses noises out the podcast I would have
to gone into every audio recording and delete a small section of the file. I
didn’t have time to do this because there wasn’t enough time to complete
the unit if I edited the audio files.
Mid way through my production week I lost all my audio files and had to redo
the entire production, I lost my work because I rushed saving the software
on my memory stick and didn’t read through the warning signs properly. In
order to have prevented this I should have taken more care in saving my
work.
The next few days of production I was very stressed and rushed a lot of the
work which clearly effected the final product. Ii managed to finish the
product with time to spare so I quickly edited major issues within the
podcast.

I think that my product sound good because I made sure that there was never a dull moment in order to keep my podcast up beet and entertaining at all times. I think that my podcast was creative because I used special effects on my audio files in order to make my voice more vivid and weird to add interest to my audio recording. The main aspect of my podcast I like the most is where I’m talking about why I enjoyed king no one live. I start getting deep and then I apologise to my audience. Justin bieber sorry comes on and I make a little joke about the whole situation. This is my favourite part because I found it really funny record then later on edit it all together. If I were to improve this is would try and make the whole podcast more professional by re recording certain parts. This is because in certain parts I stumble on words.
  • 8. Technical Qualities The hyperlink beneath this text shows a podcast similar to mine. This podcast is similar to mine because this particular podcaster does regular shows about albums and live performances. The podcast itself is pretty straight forward with no special effects except slight reverb on the voice just to make the voice more interesting for the audience to watch. The language the podcaster used was formal but informal at the time, making the the feel of the podcast up beat and lifting. The difference between this podcast and my own is that I specifically talk about live performances and also mix it up a bit with some of my own stories when watching a band live, whether the podcast I’m comparing to talks about various things like new album releases and gives his opinion which isn’t always the nicest. http://www.theneedledrop.com/articles/2016/2/bones-useless

  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary Overall I think that I would change how I edited my podcast because I felt very rushed when editing my audio files. At the end of every audio file I recorded there is a quite clicking noise when stopping recording on the audio recorder. In order for my to edit theses noises out the podcast I would have to gone into every audio recording and delete a small section of the file. I didn’t have time to do this because there wasn’t enough time to complete the unit if I edited the audio files. Mid way through my production week I lost all my audio files and had to redo the entire production, I lost my work because I rushed saving the software on my memory stick and didn’t read through the warning signs properly. In order to have prevented this I should have taken more care in saving my work. The next few days of production I was very stressed and rushed a lot of the work which clearly effected the final product. Ii managed to finish the product with time to spare so I quickly edited major issues within the podcast.
