3. Mind Map
Coca-Cola
Soft Drink
Coca-Cola uses the colour red which
is a danger colour and is easily
noticed.
The Coca-Cola Logo is easily
recognizable.
Thoughtful and easy to understand
slogan.
The colour of the liquid is
unique and can be easily found.
The target audience for Coca-Cola is people of all
ages because coke is a soft drink so anybody can
drink it.
Coke can be bought in various forms e.g. cans, bottles etc. The wide
variety expands the target audience because some people prefer
bottles over cans.
4. Mind Map
โข Strengths of using this method
โ Information can be listed down in note form which makes re-reading these notes much easier
compared to using a essay formulae.
โ Using mind maps shows that I have pre-organized my work and I can use the mind map to
remind myself how to set up my work later on in the project.
โ Mind maps can be used to separate ideas out into sections to organize notes and make re-
reading them in the future much more easier.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ No room for too much detail which can prove to be a problem when re-reading notes.
โ Multiple mind maps need to be created when multiple sections are involved.
โ This method can be somewhat complicated compared to normal sentence structures.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I personally donโt mind using this method because it makes it easier when re-reading notes and splitting
notes up into sections but it can be quite complicated and certain amounts of detail canโt be added in
because of the amount of room which is accessible due to other points I have to make on the mind
map.
6. Mood Board
โข Strengths of using this method
โ This method helps with making slogans and logos because you can get a good idea
of what you want.
โ Helps to remind yourself what your logo, slogan and layout would look like.
โ If your working in a group or team then it helps others get an idea of what you
want in your advert.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ Finding suitable images for my mood board can be time consuming.
โ I might accidently break some of the ASA codes when finding suitable images.
โ You might want to change your mind later which means going back to your
mood board and changing the images youโve found.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I did like using this method because I can search for my own inspiration which leads to my
final advertisement being completely unique to me and this sets me apart from everyone
elseโs final advertisement.
8. Style Sheet
โข Strengths of using this method
โ This method helps to get a good idea of the type of font I would like to use in my
final advert design.
โ This method helps me to discover new font styles which can help improve my
creativity for the future.
โ This method improves my font skills, so the fonts I use will look more professional.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ Choosing which font to use can be time consuming.
โ Choosing the colour scheme you would like to use can also be time consuming.
โ If youโre working in a group or team then others may have different ideas which
would most likely lead to debate which wastes quite a bit of time.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I didnโt really like using this method because it is too time consuming and requires a
huge amount of creativity for good ideas.
10. Layout Plan
โข Strengths of using this method
โ This method is useful for creating a rough version of my final advertisement by using images
from Google and other browsers to piece together my advert.
โ This method is good for giving myself an idea of what my final advertisement might look like
should in decide to go through with it.
โ This method is also a good way of practicing creating advert designs so making my final
advertisement will be much easier and the advertisement will look more professional.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ Finding the images for the layout plan can be time consuming especially when you donโt have
an idea about what you want your advert to look like.
โ You might accidently waste too much time on designing the advert rather than making it.
โ You might be dissuaded from using the design youโve come up with which would mean that
you would have to find more images for another design which is time consuming.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I did like using this method because it allows me to be creative and find my own images for my own
advert. This method allows me to plan for my final design which quite obviously, is a prerequisite for
designing a half decent advert.
12. Brainstorm
โข Strengths of using this method
โ This method is good for putting everyone's ideas on a sheet of paper if I am working in a
group so others can get an idea of what each of us are thinking.
โ This method is good for agreeing to use a certain design at the beginning to prevent
disagreements from occurring during the process of making the radio advert.
โ This method allows the group to work as a team right off the bat which is absolutely
essential for making a successful radio ad.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ Disagreements can cause arguments which can effect teamwork later on in the project.
โ Coming up with and deciding on ideas can be time consuming.
โ Members of my group may have different ideas compared to me which can cause
problems for my group if others donโt want to change their ideas.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I did like using this method because it allows are group to work as a team and come up
with some good ideas for our project and helps to develop teamwork in our group.
13. Informal Pitch
โข Strengths of using this method
โ This method is good for putting your ideas into play.
โ This method is good for practicing to use adobe audition effectively.
โ This method is good for designing a professional looking radio advert.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ Learning how to use adobe audition can be time consuming.
โ Errors made during the designing stage can take time to correct.
โ Sometimes your work does not save properly which can be a huge problem.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because I can be creative when designing my radio advert
and it allows me to develop new skills for my media course.
14. Initial Reaction
My initial reaction to making an Adver-game is shock because I didnโt think that it
would be something quite like this but I am still interested in designing an Adver-
game because of how unique the idea is. The protagonist of my Adver-game is a
guy with a coke sword and hits pepsi cans with it. This idea appeals to my target
audience because its simple and easy to understand and it links in with coca-cola
so the game will have wider audience.
15. Initial Reaction
โข Strengths of using this method
โ Allows me to plan Adver-game out in advance.
โ It tells others what my reaction was to the concept of Adver-games.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ My plan might change later on if I canโt pull it off effectively.
โ Coming up with ideas for my project might take a lot of time.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I didnโt like using this method because some ideas are really hard to come up with and
the concept of this idea as a whole is quite pointless in my opinion apart from the
planning of course.
17. Sketches
โข Strengths of using this method
โ Allows for me to effectively plan out my adver-game in advance which makes creating it so
much more easier and gives me a good idea of what I will be developing.
โ This method is also good for people who are artistic or looking to develop their art skills.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ This method can serve as a waste of time for some people if they have already planned out
their ad in advance.
โ This method does not work very well for people who canโt draw/have no artistic skills (like
me).
โ There is a finite amount of boxes on the sketch paper to draw on unlike Photoshop which
allows an infinite amount of layers to draw on so, errors made on the planning stage are
almost irreversible and you can only include a certain amount of ideas.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I didnโt like this method because Iโm not very artistic or very creative when it comes to drawing
which is a big problem for me and I easily make mistakes which in this case, are very hard to
undo.
18. Formal Proposal
โข Strengths of using this method
โ Formal proposals give me an idea of how a professional proposal looks.
โ This method allows me to organize information about the product to make the
proposal easier to read.
โข Weaknesses of using this method
โ Some of the questions on the proposal may be difficult for some to answer
โ Some of the questions may be unanswerable depending on the type of project
you are evaluating.
โข Did you like using this method? Why?
I did like using this method because the layout is easy to understand, the proposal
comes with questions to make setting up the proposal easier to make and it gave me
an idea about what a professional proposal will look like.
