make it truthful and not over exaggerated.

the product you are selling without doubts of what
it is.
4 Harm and Offence You need to make sure that your advert is not based
for a specific group of people or race, it needs to be
suitable for all viewers.

advertisement and you cannot promote violence to
viewers.

4. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
– Colour co-ordinated to easily find what you need. Colour co-ordination
helps because it means you can find what you need faster. It is
essentially the same as highlighting a sentence on a page and closing
the book. As soon as you need the sentence, you go to the page and
you find it easily as it is in colour.
– Multiple sections to expand on ideas. This is helpful because if you
have an idea linked with something that you have already put down,
you can easily add an arrow from the bubble and write that point
down.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– All of the planning I have done has been useful and I couldn’t find any
problems/weaknesses.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– I liked using this method because when I had an idea I just put it in a
bubble so that I could find it easily when it came to doing the
photoshop part of this project.
6. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
– Mood boards help to collect all of your ideas together to get a
rough idea of what your final product will look like. A mood
board helps you to see what you think about when you hear
something like Coca-Cola. It makes you think about what it
reminds you of (places, people, items, restaurants etc.)
• Weaknesses of using this method
– I couldn’t find any weakness as I believe that all planning is
useful.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– Yes, because I can put all of my ideas together on a mood board
and then have a look at them all and decide which one seems
like the best to use.
8. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
– The style sheet helps you get the right font for the product you are
making and is a good way to see what each font looks like. Style sheets
help you find the right font for your product. Without a style sheet you
may never find the right font for you. Instead, you will end up using a
font that you may not like. Also the style sheet is there to let you
experiment creatively with a lot of different fonts.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– I couldn’t find any weakness as I believe that all planning is useful.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– Not particularly because I had a look at some fonts that I like (which I
jotted down) and now I cant decide between them…
10. Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
– The layout plan will help you get a vague idea of where
everything will go and how it may look as an end product. This
in itself is useful because when you have a layout plan you can
change it easily if you don’t like anything. If you just left the
layout plan and went straight onto producing the layout you
may be stuck for ideas, or you may want to change something
that may be very hard to change.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– I couldn’t find any weakness as I believe that all planning is
useful.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– Yes because I like to see how my ideas will come together as an
end product.
11. Brainstorm
Radio ad Ideas

1. Ahhhh
2. Any better?
1. Oh Yeah (sound
clip)
Taste the feeling
12. Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
– You can put all of your ideas into writing or on screen. Having all
of your ideas on screen means you don’t need to think about
things as you go along so it will be less time consuming.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Not a very thought through type of planning. Its more rough
thoughts than well thought through ideas.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– I didn’t particularly like the brainstorm planning because I don’t
really understand why we used a brainstorm rather than a mind
map which would have been much easier to use in my point of
view.
13. Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
– You share your ideas (with someone) and get some opinions on
what’s good and what’s bad so you can change to suit the
audience.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– It wasn’t very clear that we were doing the pitch as the group
thought we were getting ready for it.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– Yes, because I gathered the opinions of the teacher and changed
what was necessary to make it much easier to understand what
I was talking about.
15. Group Idea Generation
• Strengths of using this method
– The strengths of using this method is that I got to
listen to my other group members ideas, meaning we
could put together an overall plan. Also since we were
working as a team we got to generate a lot more ideas
than if I was by myself.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– The weakness of using this method is that not
everyone might agree with your ideas.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– i liked this method because working as a team meant I
had more ideas to use in my final project.
16. Formal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
– You give your pitch to another person in the class and then you
are able to obtain feedback to make your product or your design
better. This is good because when you get feedback sometimes
you could use it to your advantage and change your product to
be better than it was. Without feedback, you wouldn’t be able
to do that.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– I actually cant remember doing the formal pitch.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– No, because I have no recollection of doing my informal pitch.
18. Sketches
• Strengths of using this method
– With using sketches you can plan out how you want your game
to turn out and you get the opportunity to change things fairly
easily than if it was on the computer.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– The sketching may not look as good as you expected.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– I liked using this method although it was only a quick sketch
rather than in detail which was less time consuming but less
professional.
19. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
– The strengths of doing the formal proposal is that you are
answering questions based on your product. This makes you
think about what type of questions you need to consider when
making your product.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– I haven’t really found any weaknesses of doing the formal
proposal.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– I liked using this method because I got to see the type of
questions I needed to consider when I was in the production
stage of creating my product.
