Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
The radical Coca-Cola ad.
Target Platform:
What media platform/platforms would you release the product on?
Radio, podcasts.
Genre:
What sort of a media product is it?
It is a radio advert
Language / Territories
What countries would you release it in? Would it be suitable worldwide or is it targeted at a
specific population? Is it unsuitable for any cultures or beliefs?
English and Portuguese speaking countries (USA, UK, Australia, Portugal, Brazil, exc.)
Synopsis / Treatment / Story / How the game plays:
What is your product about? Discuss how it works to communicate a message to the
audience? What is the main message?
- A skate board rolls up, the sound coming as if it is rolling up to the recorder.
- There’s a pause for a moment.
- A guitar riff plays, quick and blunt, as it fades away the song ‘In too deep’ deep begins to
play, loud at first, and the stifles into the background as the sound effect of a coca cola can
fizzing open plays.
- The script is read from, an old sounding man in a thick skater boy Californian accent says
‘How’s it hanging, kids? I’m Rupert and these kids are gnarly. And so can you be with this
totally fresh can of Coca-Cola!”
- The music fades out.
- The jingle plays from a electronic guitar sound effect.
One Line SalesPitch:
Sum up your product in one sentence
A fresh, cool can of Coca-Cola.
Style (similar products and graphical style)
Researching radio ads, I found the most affective one were very comedic and cut throat. So we
tried to make the ad a little bit funny to keep it memorable.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic e tc
Why would your product appeal to this person?
15-19 age range, all genders, C1, C2 and D social status because the age range of our target
audience fits into the bands of work, it would probably appeal to teenagers and late teens because
they will appreciate the joke. They understand the irony in someone trying too hard, and will
probably find it enjoyable.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
There will be no offensive material in the advert because are theme is generally light humoured
and is over all rather positive.
Will you restrict younger audiences engaging with it?
No we will not, the only problem way may have is certain types of people not understanding the
lingo.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
No I don’t think it will. The only group of people I can think of it offending would be Californians
because of our exaggerated use of their accents.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
I will do adequate research into the countries that the ad will be heard in, and make sure nothing
come across as insulting or offensive.
Is your product using characters/names/logos of existing ones?
The only names, logo’s and characters my product is using are their own or created by the
company.
Will your product be sufficiently different from existing ones to not get sued for copyright
infringement and how have you achieved this?
I have researched adverts using key components of the advert that we have created, and have
found nothing that can be tied to it. I’ve also read through the copyright laws and found that our
advert is without fault in this department.
