Village Information System

ABSTRACT
Village Information System (VIS) is a Web-based retrieval system based on village level
census 2001. The system enables retrieval of various analytical information relating to
demography and amenities available in all inhabited villages. The amenities include
education, health, drinking water, post-telegraph, telephone, communication, etc. The
integration of these sets of information would aid the decision-making and development
process for systematic resources utilization and also aid sustainable development of rural
areas. The VIS will be a network of GIS based activities covering the entire Villages, Blocks
and Districts. The system includes a query engine which enables building queries
dynamically at different levels namely districts, blocks and villages and generating detailed
reports. VIS has been designed to cater to information need of planning commission during
decision making and plan formulation for grass root level. The system can also be of use to
other Ministries, State Governments, NGO’s, Research Institutions.

INTRODUCTION
Planning is widely accepted as a way to
handle complex problems of resource
allocation at regional level. In order to
provide a more effective and meaningful
direction for better planning and
development, necessary support of the
information has become essential. Hence,
the need for a suitable information system
is increasingly being felt in all planning
and developmental activities in rural areas.
Planners and decision-makers at micro
level have to depend upon spatial and non-
spatial data for optimization of the location
of basic infrastructure. Hence, the planners
need to have at their disposal sophisticated
data management systems to handle
spatially correlated data.[1–3]
Village Information System means the
management of village related
information’s in a technological
environment, which will help the rural
planners for the planning and
implementation of plans in rural areas. It
basically reduces the time and cost
involved with the creation of data base for
the planning. It comprises of all the
information related to the facilities,
infrastructure, education, health,
population, building type, etc. This
information’s are needed to analyze the
existing scenario at the development stage
in the village. The emergence of Remote
Sensing and Geographic Information
System as a powerful tool for spatial
analysis and storage has in effect
alleviated the problem by computerization
of the spatial data. Thus, the main
objective of the study is to develop a
village information system providing
complete information for decision-making
based on their existing resources and
capabilities. Information system has been
developed in order to generate maps,
which would provide relevant information

manufactures to reach the global market and to directly sell their products to people without
involving different other companies or middlemen before their product can reach the shelves
of a physical store. Further, instead of using the available platforms, manufacturers can
bring a concept of designing their own web store to sell their products directly to the masses.

INTRODUCTION
Testing
This chapter includes the methods that
were used for testing, validating, and
evaluating the system. The Conclusion and
the Future Work for the software are also
given.[1]
METHODOLOGY
With this testing approach, all the specs
were ready for a prototype, and a plan was
already built to be shown; the tester started
writing his or her code and saw if he or she
could obtain the same results that the specs
mentioned.
This way, the specs were tested on each
prototype, and continuous testing was
applied. This also helped to minimize the
testing that would have to be implemented
at the end of the software lifecycle. In the
process, all aspects of the software were
tested. Steps to follow while implementing
the methodology are as follows[2–5]
:
1) Start with a base function that you
want to implement.
2) Create a document with the detailed
requirement definition, an activity
diagram with a description of the flow,
database tables to be used, a
component diagram, and a description
of each component with the
precondition and tables that would be
affected by the component.
3) Give the document to the tester, and
work with the tester while he or she
writes the code to check if the steps in
the document can be implemented and
if the result of each use case can be
achieved.
4) If the tester finds a step difficult to
implement or thinks he or she is
missing additional information to
implement the functionality, then go to
step 2; otherwise, go to step 3.
5) Ask the tester to log on all the errors
and difficulties he or she encountered
while working on the prototype
implementation.
6) Once the prototype is done and the
results between the developer’s
prototype and tester’s prototype match,
work on the other requirement, and
expand the prototype to final software.

ABSTRACT
Fuzzy logic based methods together with the techniques from Artificial Intelligence have
gained importance. Data mining techniques, Association rules together with fuzzy logic to
model the fuzzy association rules are being used for classifying data. These togetherness are
producing better results. The present paper proposes a model for Unknown Malware attack
prevention detection based on fuzzy association rules which use genetic programming. As the
model includes the data mining and object oriented rule mining base on fuzzy logic where the
three collectively tries to detect the Unknown Malware to a great extent. This paper explores
the details of this growing danger and subsequently provides an evaluation of the various
technologies available to counter the risk.

INTRODUCTION
Intrusion detection system (IDS) has
played a vital role as a device to guard our
networks from unknown malware attacks.
However, since it still suffers from
detecting an unknown attack, i.e., 0-day
attack, the ultimate challenge in intrusion
detection field is how we can precisely
identify such an attack.
For identifying known malware various
tools are available but that does not detect
Unknown malware exactly. It will vary
according to connectivity and using tools
and finding strategies what they used.
Anyhow like known Malware few of
unknown malware listed according to their
abnormal activities and changes in the
system.
First, an Unknown Malware attack is
defined as the occurrence of an
organization being actively subjected to a
threat. In other words, the presence of a
threat “in the wild” does not constitute an
Unknown Malware attack. It is only when
the threat is operating against a specific
target that the associated organization is
considered to be “under attack.” An
“Unknown Malware attack” then is one
where the organization’s countermeasures
are not able to identify the threat it is being
exposed to.
Unknown attacks are quickly becoming
the next great information security
challenge for today’s organizations. As the
window of time between the disclosure of
a new vulnerability and the emergence of
unique threats that operate against it
continues to diminish, so does the
effectiveness of many conventional
countermeasures, including patch
management.

INTRODUCTION
