A. Preparatory Activities
1. Drill
 Have the students find theproduct of the following:
1. 𝟏 𝟑
2. 𝟐 𝟑
3. 𝟑 𝟑
2. Review
 Ask the pupils: What is the formula for finding the volume of a
rectangular prism?
3. Motivation
 Let the pupils count or guess the number of cubic units of the
following:
1. Presentation
 Group the pupils into 4. Let them guess/count the number of
cubic units in the rubrics cubes.
 Ask the pupils: if each cube is a cubic unit, how many cubes
are there in the figure? How many cubes are there in one row?
How many rows are there? How many cubic units are there in
one layer? How many layers are there?
 We have, cubes per row x number of rows x number of layers
3 x 3 X 3 = 27 cubic units
 To find the volume of a cube, the length of its side is multiplied
by itself 3 times.
V = S x S x S or V = S3
2. Fixing Skills
 Find the volume of the following cubes.
1. S=6 2. S=5 3. S= 4
3. Generalization
 Ask the pupils:
 What is volume? What is the formula for finding the volume of
a cube?
4. Application
 A square prism has a side of 9 cm. what is its volume?
IV. Evaluation
 Find the volume of the following figures.
1. . S = 12 2. S = 7 3. S=10
V. Assignment
 Find at least 3 boxes or anything that shows a cubic figure at
your home, measure its length and find its volume.

Let them guess/count the number of cubic units in the rubrics cubes.  Ask the pupils: if each cube is a cubic unit, how many cubes are there in the figure? How many cubes are there in one row? How many rows are there? How many cubic units are there in one layer? How many layers are there?  We have, cubes per row x number of rows x number of layers 3 x 3 X 3 = 27 cubic units  To find the volume of a cube, the length of its side is multiplied by itself 3 times.
