2. * Checking of Assignment
“Yesterday I gave an assignment kindly pass
it forward.”
(The teacher will post the assignment on the
board and will call out students to write the
correct answers on each item.)
* Review
“Class, can you still remember the Factors
and Product in the operation of
Multiplication?”
“Let’s see if that is true”
“In 8 X 4= 24, Write inside the box if the
number represents Factors or Product.”
(Teacher will call a student)
“Is this correct?”
“Very Good!”
*Drill
“Class I have meta cards in my hands, I want
you to answer the given operation as fast as
you can. Ready?”
(Teacher will show meta cards to the pupils)
(Students will pass their assignments)
(Students who are called will stand up and
write the correct answer.)
“Yes Ma’am”
(Students will raise their hands)
(Student will go in front and write)
“Yes Ma’am!”
“Yes Ma’am”
(Students will answer)

3. *Motivation
Message in Boxes
“Look at the board class: As you see there are
numbers, letters and the operation of
Multiplication. There is a secret message
hidden there and we have to solve the
following so that we will know the secret
message. Are you ready?
“Good job class! We have cracked the secret
message!”
“Yes Ma’am”
(Students will answer and write the
corresponding letter of the number in the box
below.)

4. B. Developmental Activities
*Presentation
a. Present a Problem
Andres Bonifacio Elementary School
received 12 boxes of toys from the governor
of the province. Each box had 24 assorted
toys. How many toys were there in all?
“What is asked in the problem?”
“What are given?”
“What operation will you use?”
“Very good! I will give you 3 minutes to
solve the problem.”
“What is your answer?”
“Can someone show his solution on the
board?”
“How did you arrived with that answer?”
“How many toys were there in all?”
“12 boxes of toys and 24 assorted toys”
“The operation to be used is Multiplication.”
(Students are solving)
“288 toys Ma’am”
(Student will show his solution on the board)

5. “Correct! Very good! Did everyone answered
it correctly?”
“So class, keep in mind that when we are using
the operation of Multiplication in solving we
have to see to it that everything is aligned
properly so that we will arrive at the correct
answer. Be careful because when one digit is
computed wrong your answer will
automatically be wrong. Okay?”
“Let us see if everyone already know how to
multiply.”
(Teacher will post these on the board)

“Who can answer number 1?

(Teacher together with the class will check
the answers)
C. Guided Practice
*Group Activity
“I will group you into 4”
(Teacher will give each group an activity
card)
Group 1
“To arrive at the correct answer we have to
multiply the multiplier 12 to the multiplicand
24. Start from the ones place 2 times 4 equal to
8 next multiply the tens place 2 times 2 equal
4. Now multiply the tens place of the
multiplier, 1 times 4 equal to 4 place the
answer at the tens place. 1 times 2 equal to 2
place the answer at the hundreds place. Add 48
and 24. The final answer is 288.
