The document discusses AC circuits and phasors. It introduces the concepts of impedance due to resistors (R), capacitors (XC), and inductors (XL). Voltage across a resistor is in phase with current, while voltage across a capacitor lags current by 90 degrees and voltage across an inductor leads current by 90 degrees. Phasor diagrams can be used to represent AC quantities, with the length of each phasor corresponding to the component's impedance. Resonance occurs when XL = XC, minimizing the overall impedance Z. At resonance, the current Imax reaches a maximum value.

Two leg three-phase inverters (FSTPIs) have been proposed to be used in low-power; low-cost applications because of the reduced number of semiconductor devices, and space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) techniques have also been introduced to control FSTPIs. However, high-performance controllers are needed to implement complicated SVPWM algorithms, which limit their low-cost applications. To simplify algorithms and reduce the cost of implementation, an equivalent scalar method for SVPWM of FSTPIs is proposed. SVPWM for FSTPIs is actually a sine PWM by modulating two sine waves of 600 phase difference with a triangle wave, but in this method third harmonics doesn’t eliminated. So as to eliminate the third harmonics we have to compose a high frequency sine wave to on existing sine waves. So such a special sine PWM can be used to control FSTPIs. The Mathematical and simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

Course: MS in Renewable Energy Engineering, Oregon institute of technology
This circuit can give a visual indication of the rate of air flow. It can be also used to check whether there is air flow in a given space. The filament of a incandescent bulb is the sensing part of the circuit. When there is no air flow the resistance of the filament will be low. When there is air flow the resistance drops, because the moving air will remove some of the heat generated in the filament. This variation in the resistance will produce variation of voltage across the filament. These variations will be picked up by the op-amp (LM339) and the brightness of the LED at its output will be varied proportionally to the airflow.
This is the experiment for undergraduate science and engineering students in the subjects of Physics, Applied Physics, Basic electronics etc. The experiment is explained in detail so that the students and faculty member can get the better knowledge of the experiment.
Any periodic variation of current or voltage where the current (or voltage), when measured along
any particular direction goes positive as well as negative, is defined to be an AC quantity.
Sinusoidal AC wave shapes are the ones where the variation (current or voltage) is a sine function
of time.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
