The document provides an evaluation of the student's Final Major Project (FMP). It summarizes the student's research process, planning, time management, technical and aesthetic qualities of their game trailer. It also discusses how they appealed to their target audience and analyzes feedback from peers. The student agrees they should improve consistency in drawings and music flow/volume in trailers. They disagree that their trailer contained too much gameplay.
3. Research
• The strengths of my research was that I already had a base to build my
projects on since my research helped me find different solutions.
• It helped my product since I was able to create new ideas off what I had
found online which boosted my production.
• I could have improved the different styles of games I researched and
focused on one main genre so I had a solid idea which I could’ve build
smaller ideas off of. If I had done this I would’ve had more ideas for my
game and would of made a more understandable trailer.
4. Planning
• The strengths of me planning my work was that it helped me know what
to research and what I was to complete before what to make sure
everything was prepared to make the trailer.
• It helped since I was able to get enough time to focus on my products
instead of doing something I hadn’t planned for.
• Didn’t have any weaknesses to do with my planning, but if I changed my
planning around my trailer might have come out more refined.
5. Time Management
• No since I hadn’t completed certain tasks by the end of the time I gave
myself which meant that I would be behind in the other tasks from then
on.
• If I had more time I would have kept going through reviews of my trailer
and refining it until the audience has no problems with it.
6. Technical Qualities
My trailer has a lower graphic quality than the existing game on the market. Additionally, they
have given a setting where it is based with a large pan shot, whilst I’ve thrown the viewer into a
random place with no structure of where it is.
They've used a large variety of colours whilst I have just used a simple amount of white, grey,
and black.
The existing games trailer has more quality used in there CGI, whilst mine trailer could be
improved. Furthermore, my trailer is mostly interior lit in this photo whilst the existing game is
exterior lit.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I thought it looked good since I made sure the audience would understand what was
going on. I incorporated parts of my own recorded work which was the creative part
of my production. The visuals were varied but mostly high quality. I would mostly
improve the way the music flows with the other sounds in the trailer.
The strengths of my aesthetic is that it never lost quality and had detail where you
wouldn’t look. My weaknesses is that not everything was the same type of graphic.
8. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my target audience since I have made sure to include plenty of sci-fi
and have put a type of story in which is what my audience was looking for.
Main parts that would appeal to my target audience would be the two bits of gameplay
put into the trailer.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
• I like the logo that he has created on the t-shirts
and I also like his dialogue over the dramatic
music in his game trailer.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• Less gameplay featured in the trailer.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
• There was a lot of gameplay, lots of action adventure and funny moments.
• The t-shirt design has a good logo and also ahs a good background to the logo.
• There is a good design which is highly individual and creative idea
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
– For the second t-shirt design the pointiness of the face ( IT’s JUST TO POINTY), also the
line with the drawing is too thick.
– The first t-shirt design has only one improvement I would say which is that it needs to
have those two strands leading from the neck need to be deleted.
– For the trailer I believe that it needed more gameplay and more moments to create a
longer piece however I also think that you need a deeper voice for the voice acting and
it also needed more animation and towards the end I think that the music needed to
trail off and or get quieter towards the end it also should become quieter to connect the
two pieces of the music and speech.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how the video is set up and the music
matches along very well with what's happening in
the video
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I would improve the quality of the voice, so maybe
the volume of the voice you can hear when the
letters come up
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– That my drawing should always have the same
thickness of lines for body parts, and that the
trailers music should gently decrease in volume
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– That there was to much game play for a game
trailer
14. Peer Feedback Summary
Based upon my feedback I would make sure I do all my drawings to perfection
and that I have a proper visual before going into the completion of my trailer.
Additionally, I would make sure that all my songs flow and there's no sharp
changes.
