Composition
Properties
PHYSICAL PROPERTY
Without any
change in
composition
Can be classified
as intensive and
extensive.
(ex. Change in
phase, cutting
EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL
PROPERTY
Density – amount of mass in a specified place
Volume – amount of space an object occupies
Boiling Point – temp. in which liquid changes
to gas (evaporation)
Melting Point – temp. in which solid changes
to liquid (melting)
EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL
PROPERTY
Malleability – capability of metal to be
hammered into thin sheets (ex. Gold, silver, tin,
jewelries)
Conductivity – ability to conduct heat and
electricity
Magnetic property – ability to attract materials
made of iron and steel
Ductility – ability to be drawn into wires (ex.
Copper)
CHEMICAL PROPERTY

burning, change
in taste)
