Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath of the Renaissance era known for works such as the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. He apprenticed as a young artist and established himself as a master by age 20. His ideas and works were greatly influenced by his interest in science and nature. Some of his most famous works include the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. Johannes Vermeer was a Dutch Golden Age painter known for interior scenes, including works such as The Milkmaid and Girl with a Pearl Earring. Relatively little is known about his life, but he lived and worked in Delft, producing genre scenes and interior views that are among the most popular works of Dutch Golden Age painting.
