Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath born in 1452 in Vinci, Italy who worked as a painter, sculptor, architect, and engineer. He was apprenticed to Verrocchio at age 14 and exposed to various technical skills. By 1472 he qualified as a master artist. Some of his most famous works include the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and Virgin of the Rocks. He also made conceptual drawings of inventions like helicopters and tanks well before their time. There are also conspiracy theories that he was part of a secret society and left hidden codes and messages in his works of art.
