Production Process Evaluation
Research
• I think the strengths of my research was that when I had to find existing
products similar I was able to talk about existing products that I have actually
used myself for a couple of years now. This allowed me to be more detailed
and give more incite on the product that I was researching.
• I think that my research helped my final product because it allowed me to see
what is attractive to the audience and it gave me ideas on what to discuss and
how to lay out my script to make it even more appealing.
• I would say the weakness of my research was that I got the majority of my
research all from one site which means some of it could be in-correct or
biased which could cause me to do something wrong.
• I think my research could be better if I got more information from a range of
different websites/locations so that I have a variety of different
products/information that isn’t similar to each other and allows me to gain
more ideas.
• I think that the research effects how my final product will turn out because my
research is where I collect information on other products and combine their
ideas and features with my personal ideas and features and to see if mine are
right for this topic. So I think without research I would have a much more
unappealing product.
Planning
• I think that the strengths of my planning was that it allowed me to make a
foundation of basic ideas for my production and build on them. This meant I
could plan out what I intend to do first, how I do it and how I intend to lay out
my work to make it best suit the audience.
• I think the weaknesses of my planning is that my planning was quite biased.
When making my planning I already had made up my mind that I wanted to do
a podcast/game review so it resulted in me putting more work into the
planning of the game review rather then the rest. I think this makes my work
have less quality and gives gave me more of a disadvantage when making my
production because I might have been able to get more or better ideas if I put
more effort into the other ideas as much as I did in this one.
• My planning helped my production because it allowed me to know what I was
going to do first when making my production. This meant that I didn’t have to
waste as much time deciding what I wanted to do first.
• I think my planning could have been improved more if I put more information
on each ideas (game review, News, Historical) I think that this would improve
my production because it means I would have more ideas to make my work
more unique and attractive to the audience.
Time Management
• I think I managed my time well when creating my production because I
finished everything before the end of the project however I think that if I
had more time I would be able to produce a better final production. For
example when doing my planning and research I didn’t get to put as much
information down as I’d like because I wanted to make sure I stuck to the
time and didn’t fall behind. If I had more time I would also try to make my
production appeal more to the female audience as much as the male
audience by adding a female speaker or make a questionnaire and ask
what females would like their gaming podcasts to have and use that
information to add more features to my product to make it more
appealing.
Technical Qualities
• I think the Game Scoop podcast is similar in some aspects to my production.
For example on Game Scoop they have used a music intro to symbolise that it
is their podcast and to get the audiences attention that it is starting because
most podcasts give at least a 10minute warning in advance saying that the
podcast will be going live so that their audience has time to join. I have also
used a music intro for my podcast to have the same effect however I have
made mine related to the topic of my podcast so that at the beginning of my
podcast my audience kind of gets an idea of what I will be talking about. The
Game Scoop podcast also uses an informal tone when speaking. I have tried to
do this in my podcast too to make it more appealing to my audience, to make
my podcast stand out from others and so that my podcast has my own
personality to it. This existing podcast also gives the audience a heads up of
what they are going to talk about at the very start of the podcast. I did the
same in my podcast and actually got the idea from this podcast, I decided to
do the same because I think it will be more attractive to the audience to see
that the podcast is well organised and that they know what's going to be
talked about and can skip ahead if they only want to hear about one thing.
Start at 00.00.00 and end at 00.07.00

Aural Qualities
• I think that my work does sound good however I think it could be better.
For example when talking I used the same tone of voice all the way
through and it made the podcast more bland and boring. So if I had the
chance to do it again I would try use a more energetic tone of voice that is
more attractive to the audience. I would also try to use a bigger variety of
music instead of just using one song the whole way through because I
think that it would make the podcast more interesting and would possibly
attract a larger audience to my podcast where as making certain parts of
the podcast more dramatic. However I like how I have used a range of
different sound effects to make my product more unique and different to
competitors while also making the environment of the podcast more
energetic and interesting. For example when the motion tracker sound
effect starts playing there is no music in the background and the speaker
stops talking meaning that there is nothing but the motion tracker sound
effect in complete silence which adds a more dramatic, tense and
interesting tone to the podcast for the audience.
Audience Appeal
I think that I have made my podcast appeal to my audience of male teenagers aged 15-
17 who are in the middle social class by talking about a range of different features,
using sound effects and music and by using an informal tone. I think this has made my
product more appealing because the sound effects make my work more entertaining
while also being related to the topic that I am talking about to my audience. I think my
project will also be more appealing and entertaining to my audience because of the
music in the background, this helps to cover up any peace's of the audio where there is
silence and replaces it with something that helps to make the environment of the
podcast more immersive while also giving the audience something to listen to when
there is nothing else to hear. I think that my product appeals to more males then
females because of the topic I am talking about and because of the features of the
podcast however there will still be a female audience that listens to my podcast. For
example I think the features of adding the death animations sound effects to change
the topic has made my production more appealing to the part of my audience that likes
violence in games and make the production more interesting for everyone in general
because they don’t know when the sound effect is going to happen so it adds an idea of
tension and surprise when it does play.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the sound effects that you used
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Could sound better
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
• I like how you talked about a range off ideas
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think you should try be more clear when
speaking and be more professional
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
I like how you made your sound effects suit what you were
talking.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
I think it would be better if you talk slower so that it is
easier to understand what you are saying
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree with my feedback because if I speak clearer then my
product will be more appealing to my target audience and they will be able to
understand what I’m talking about a lot easier.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?I don’t disagree with any of my feedback. I think that it will all
help to improve my product and to make it more appealing. My feedback was also
received by people who are in my target audience so it means taking there advice
will mean I sell more of my product and make my product more attractive to my
audience.
Peer Feedback Summary
– If i could make any changes to my product i would
of added more information about the subject i
was talking about to make my product more
interesting and to add a variety of things for the
audience to be interested in when listening to it.

For example when doing my planning and research I didn’t get to put as much information down as I’d like because I wanted to make sure I stuck to the time and didn’t fall behind. If I had more time I would also try to make my production appeal more to the female audience as much as the male audience by adding a female speaker or make a questionnaire and ask what females would like their gaming podcasts to have and use that information to add more features to my product to make it more appealing.
  • 6. Technical Qualities • I think the Game Scoop podcast is similar in some aspects to my production. For example on Game Scoop they have used a music intro to symbolise that it is their podcast and to get the audiences attention that it is starting because most podcasts give at least a 10minute warning in advance saying that the podcast will be going live so that their audience has time to join. Start at 00.00.00 and end at 00.07.00 Link to the podcast/documentary; https://player.fm/series/series-1428173
  • 7. Aural Qualities • I think that my work does sound good however I think it could be better. For example when talking I used the same tone of voice all the way through and it made the podcast more bland and boring. So if I had the chance to do it again I would try use a more energetic tone of voice that is more attractive to the audience. I would also try to use a bigger variety of music instead of just using one song the whole way through because I think that it would make the podcast more interesting and would possibly attract a larger audience to my podcast where as making certain parts of the podcast more dramatic. However I like how I have used a range of different sound effects to make my product more unique and different to competitors while also making the environment of the podcast more energetic and interesting. For example when the motion tracker sound effect starts playing there is no music in the background and the speaker stops talking meaning that there is nothing but the motion tracker sound effect in complete silence which adds a more dramatic, tense and interesting tone to the podcast for the audience.
  • 8. Audience Appeal I think that I have made my podcast appeal to my audience of male teenagers aged 15- 17 who are in the middle social class by talking about a range of different features, using sound effects and music and by using an informal tone. I think this has made my product more appealing because the sound effects make my work more entertaining while also being related to the topic that I am talking about to my audience. I think my project will also be more appealing and entertaining to my audience because of the music in the background, this helps to cover up any peace's of the audio where there is silence and replaces it with something that helps to make the environment of the podcast more immersive while also giving the audience something to listen to when there is nothing else to hear. I think that my product appeals to more males then females because of the topic I am talking about and because of the features of the podcast however there will still be a female audience that listens to my podcast. For example I think the features of adding the death animations sound effects to change the topic has made my production more appealing to the part of my audience that likes violence in games and make the production more interesting for everyone in general because they don’t know when the sound effect is going to happen so it adds an idea of tension and surprise when it does play.
