Production Process Evaluation
Research
• A strength about research is that you are able to look at similar products
and genres to get a feel of what sort of ideas you need to include in your
final product. You are able to see the language used and different effects
and ideas that makes the existing ones more effective and interesting.
• Research helped with my final product as I could go through existing
products and use different ideas from them to create your own ideas.
• A weakness is that all radio podcasts are all the same and use the same
features so trying to find something different in each one is hard.
• I think to improve is would have come up with some more original ideas
instead of just using ones already used.
Planning
• A strength of planning is that you can look at a few different ideas that you
want to do for your final idea and see what will work best for you
• Planning gives you a place to put down all your ideas and helps you to
narrow down a few to helps for the final product.
• A weakness of planning is that some of your ideas may not fit and be
harder to use and plan for
• I would have improved by looking further into different ideas to see if any
other ideas would have suited my target audience more.
Time Management
• I do not think I managed my time well on this project as I felt some weeks I
was behind, however I have manage to catch up with my work and will be
able to hand it all in on time.
• I will be able to hand my project in on time with as much detail as I could.
• I think my experiments would have improved if I had more time as I feel I
rushed this and could have made it a lot better with extra time.
• If we had more I think I could have completed the work with more detail
and improved different parts of my project.
Technical Qualities
• As my product is a music podcast I am going to compare it to Radio 1 as I
have used similar techniques in my podcast.
• A similarity of my product and Radio 1 is that we both have a host on the
radio who speaks to give information and keeps the audience entertained.
I have used the same language as Radio 1 has which is formal as this will
suit my target audience.
• A difference between the existing product and my product is there is only
1 person/voice on my podcast where as Radio 1 has special guests making
there be more than one person during the podcast.
• Another similarity is that they have a intro for their radio and include
sound effects which is something I have included in my project as it splits
it into sections and helps to see the different parts of the radio and makes
it effective.
Aural Qualities
• I think that my work does sound good and it creative as it includes sound
effects and it is my own ideas. I like how all of my audio turned out but
some aspects I like is the sound effects I have used as I feel they make it
sound like a music podcast the most as it makes it more effective and
realistic.
• I would have improved by editing little bits just to make it all flow and
make sure it all goes together.
• A strength is that the final audio sounds like a music podcast with all the
different features I have used and the speech used to make it as effective
as possible.
• A weakness is that I could’ve made it longer and added more facts and
more artists into my final product to make it more interesting and exciting
for my audience.
Audience Appeal
• My target is from ages 13-25 as they will enjoy the music the most and be the
most interested in my podcast. It will suit any ages as the music and dialogue
are suitable and sensible for any age.
• I have appealed to this target audience by having music that my audience will
know and make it more exciting to listen to. I have used One Direction on my
podcast, I included them as I know that it will appeal to my audience
• I have used sound effects throughout my podcast to add humor and
entertainment to my product which helps to attract my audience.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked Reece’s voice because it was soothing
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– More music, because people want to listen to
music more than sound effects.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the transitions because it made it more
interesting
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– A different variety of music to make it more
suitable for different genders and audiences.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the music and the podcast was set out well
and you can tell straight away that it is a music
radio.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think less sound effects should have been used
as it takes up more space than music and
information.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree with the less sound effects as I feel I
should’ve added music and information for my
audience.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree with a wider variation of music because
I feel the music I used in my podcast suit my target
audience.
Peer Feedback Summary
Some changes I would make to my product is to use less sound effects
and add more music to make it more entertaining and more suited for
my target audience. I think adding more music would help to keep my
audience interested. I would add more music to suit all genders and
ages to make my podcast suitable for everyone that listens. I would
also add more information about the artist and upcoming things to
involve the artist more as I feel they will stay interested and get
excited to my product if they are more included.
