LSC VOLLEYBALL
Angelo State and Tarleton State remain ed atop the Lone Star Conference standings with iden cal 9-1 league
records. LSC ac on con nues this week with 14 matches on the schedule.
LSC volleyball teams are 123-101 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-9 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athle c Conference teams, and 23-9 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues
in the NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State University, SR, Round Rock, Texas, Round Rock Chris an Academy
Blauser con nues to play a main role in the Belles a ack as they swept both opponents this week. The senior
led the ASU offense this week with 29 total kills averaging 4.83 kills per set and a .400 hi ng percentage.
Blauser is currently second in the conference dropping in 4.42 kills per set. Also coming through big from the
service line for ASU this week, she tallied four aces. Defensively, the Round Rock, Texas na ve chalked up 15
digs and five blocks against the opponents.
DEFENSIVE
Addison Semer, Midwestern State University, JR, Bastrop, Texas, Bastrop HS
Semer averaged 1.55 blocks per set following a career-best 11-block performance against Lubbock Chris an to
become just the fi h Mustang in school history to record at least 10 blocks in a match. Semer’s 11 blocks ed
for the third most in school history while her 10 block assists ed for second in the program record books, both
one shy from matching school records. Semer’s play at the net held opponents to a .122 percentage on the
week with St. Edward’s hi ng an MSU opponent low this season with a .027 clip. The Bastrop na ve added four
blocks in a win over the Hilltoppers while recording a pair of stuffs against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
SETTER
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, JR, Mililani, HI, Mililani HS
Keamo ran the ho est offense in the Lone Star Conference last week as the junior se er dished out 63 assists
while leading Tarleton to the two highest hi ng percentages in the league this year. Keamo dealt 33 assists in
Friday’s sweep of Eastern New Mexico while the TexAnn offense hit .444 against the Greyhounds for the highest
hi ng percentage by an LSC team this season. Keamo and the TexAnns followed suit with another sweep over
Western New Mexico Saturday a ernoon when Tarleton recorded the second-highest hi ng percentage by an
LSC team in a match this season with a .437 clip. Keamo was also an offensive force herself as she landed five
kills on eight a empts with no errors for a .625 hi ng performance. She also had a team-high seven service
aces and six digs.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, con nued to pave the way for the red-hot TexAnn offense, which
set the two highest hi ng percentages in the Lone Star Conference this season in back-to-back sweeps of
Eastern and Western New Mexico last weekend. Roberts powered down 28 kills on a .468 hi ng percentage,
including a double-double performance against Eastern New Mexico Friday night. Roberts went for 14 kills and
11 digs while hi ng .524 against the Greyhounds Friday. Her effort led the TexAnn offense that hit .444 in the
match, which is the highest percentage in a match from an LSC team this season. Roberts followed up with
14 kills on a .423 hi ng clip against Western New Mexico as Tarleton hit .437 as a team – the second-highest
percentage by an LSC team this year. For the week, Roberts totaled 28 kills in six sets for an average of 4.67 kills
per set to go along with four service aces, 16 digs, four blocks, and 34.0 points.
Sara Oxford, Texas Woman’s University, set and broke her career-high in kills last week versus UT Permian
Basin and West Texas A&M while racking up a pair of double-doubles. The senior recorded a career-best 22
kills against the Falcons while also contribu ng 10 digs, three blocks and two service aces. The following day,
Oxford upped her career-high to 24 kills with just three errors for an impressive .457 hi ng percentage. Oxford

the Lady Buffs.
Lexi Wick, Texas A&M University-Kingsville,
con nues to put up impressive numbers as she led
Texas A&M-Kingsville with 43.5 points off of 32 kills,
13 blocks and three service aces in the weekend
sweep. Wick top performance came against Cameron
University where she recorded 12 kills and eight
blocks including three solo blocks. The junior from
Leander, Texas s ll leads the LSC with a .407 hi ng
percentage and 26 solo blocks in 2016.
Sarah Garfield, Midwestern State University, led
the Mustangs with 3.45 kills per set while hi ng
.271 in three matches last week. The Wichita Falls
na ve recorded her two highest kill performances
of the season with a campaign-high 16 kills on a
.375 hi ng clip coming in a sweep of St. Edward’s
while recording 14 kills in a five-set loss at Lubbock
Chris an. Garfield posted a career-best 14 digs at LCU
and also tallied 12 digs against the Hilltoppers for the
fi h and sixth double-doubles of her career. She also
led the Mustangs with eight kills against Texas A&M-
Kingsville while recording seven digs.
Heather Verrill, Western New Mexico, paced the
offense with 26 kills and hit .339 in the nine sets
played this week. She posted a high of 11 in the
match against Angelo State and hit .348. To close the
week, Verrill ripped off a .438 percentage and nine
kills in the sweep against UTPB. She also added three
digs and six blocks while accoun ng for 29 points and
averaging 2.89 kills per set.
Ashley Mataele, Western New Mexico, nearly had
double-figure digs in all three matches ending up with
39 in the nine sets. She averaged 4.33 digs per set.
Mataele had a high of 16 digs in the sweep of UTPB
and added 14 versus Angelo State. She also had seven
assists and three service aces.
Adrianna Knutson, Tarleton State University,
con nued to lead the way for the Tarleton defense
as the sophomore libero had 19 digs for an average
of 3.17 per set to help the TexAnns past Eastern and
Western New Mexico in straight sets. The Knutson-led
defense held opponents to a .107 hi ng percentage,
including Western New Mexico’s .051 percentage
in Saturday’s sweep. For the week, Knutson totaled
three assists, and ace, and one point.
Morgan Seaton, Angelo State University, was a
force along the net for the Belles this week. The
junior out of Big Spring, Texas racked up nine total
blocks against Eastern New Mexico. This averaged her
1.50 blocks for the match. Seaton also contributed six
digs to the team’s defensive numbers for the week.
On offense she turned in 14 kills recording a .500 clip
for the pair of matches.
Casey Klobedans, Texas A&M University-Kingsville,
who is now the school’s leader in career assists,
followed up that accomplishment with an impressive
11.78 assists per set in three matches played.
Klobedans conducted the team to a .259 hi ng
percentage and individually added ten blocks and
nine kills to her stat line.
Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, con nued
to set up the potent ASU a ack this week. The San
Antonio na ve tallied 68 total assists for the week,
which averaged her 11.33 assists per set. The
freshman con nues to lead the LSC averaging 11.75
assists per set in 2016. From the service line Parker
co-led the squad with four aces on the week. She also
assisted the defense with 10 digs for an average of
1.67 digs per set for the week.
Melanie Hughes, Western New Mexico, set the
offense with 37 assists, going for double-digits twice.
She had a high of 19 in the win against UTPB and also
posted 13 versus Angelo State. Hughes also had three
kills, two service aces, seven digs and tallied five
points. She averaged 4.11 assists per set.

Angelo State
The No. 10 Belles improved to 18-2, 9-1 LSC with
another pair of sweeps for the second week in a row.
Saturday’s win placed ASU on a five match win streak.
The trio of Mallory Blauser (29), Brianna Sotello (13)
and Abbie Lynn (11) con nued to lead the Belles
offense. Anchoring the defense was Morgan Seaton
and Mallory Davidson. Seaton lead the team with
nine blocks for the week while Davidson added 34
digs to her numbers. Meghan Parker distributed
for the Belles racking up 68 assists for the week as
she con nues to hold on to the top spot in the LSC.
Finally, Leiyona Young and Micheala Sifuentes added
depth to the roster. Young was third on the team with
four blocks while Sifuentes turned in 13 digs for the
weekend. ASU hits the road to face Texas Woman’s
on Friday, October 21 at 7 p.m. and Texas A&M -
Commerce at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 22.

Eastern New Mexico
Eastern New Mexico saw a tough road trip the last
me out, dropping a pair of 3-0 matches to Tarleton
State and 11th-Ranked Angelo State. The Greyhounds
return to the court on Tuesday when they welcome
archrival West Texas A&M to Greyhound Arena.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State moved to 9-12 overall and 3-7 in
the LSC a er a 1-2 week. The Mustangs dropped a
five-set heartbreaker to Lubbock Chris an in a non-
conference mee ng on the road Thursday before
returning home to split a pair of matches Saturday.
Midwestern fell in LSC play to Texas A&M-Kingsville,
3-0, before sweeping St. Edward’s in a non-conference
matchup to conclude the day. The Mustangs con nue
their homestand Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Texas
A&M-Commerce.
Tarleton State
Tarleton ran its winning streak to eight games,
including five straight sweeps for the first me
since 2008, by taking straight sets from Eastern and
Western New Mexico. The TexAnns will hit the road
star ng Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match in Kingsville.
Texas A&M-Commerce
A&M-Commerce played three home matches last
week, bea ng West Texas A&M 3-1, sweeping UT
Permian Basin and losing in 5 sets to Arkansas-Fort
Smith... The Lions are now 12-9 overall and 6-4 in the
LSC... The Lions play at Midwestern State Tuesday
before hos ng Tarleton on Friday and Angelo State
on Saturday... Friday’s win over WT gave the Lions
consecu ve home wins over the Lady Buffs for the
first me since 1986 & 1987... A&M-Commerce had
three players with double-digit kills, led by 13 kills
from Layne Li le... Li le also added 10 digs for a
double-double... Taryn Driver and Jaryn Wacker had
10 kills apiece for the Lions... Wacker led a strong
effort at the net for A&M-Commerce, as she was in
on eight of the Lions’ 10 blocks... Ashley Mireles had
24 digs, while se er Rylie Fuentes notched a double-
double with 22 assists and 14 digs... Gabriela Rosa
passed out 28 assists... In the sweep of UTPB, the
Lions served nine aces while not allowing any... They
had a .226 hi ng percentage and had five blocks...

The Wacker sisters were the leading scorers for the
Lions... Jaryn Wacker had 10 kills while Jaslyn Wacker
had eight... Freshman Rylie Fuentes led the Lions with
21 assists... She also made seven digs and had four
service aces... Senior Ashley Mireles led both teams
with 13 digs... She also had two service aces... In
the 5-set loss to UAFS, TAMUC served six aces while
UAFS served five.. TAMUC senior Taryn Driver had 15
kills... Fuentes had 21 assists and freshman Savannah
Rutledge had 20... Mireles had 24 digs...
Texas A&M-Kingsville
Texas A&M-Kingsville went 3-0 this past weekend and
swept each opponent to move to 17-5 overall and 7-3
in conference play. The Hogs will have a big match at
home on Tuesday night against Tarleton State where
they will put their undefeated home record on the
line. TAMUK will conclude the week of matches in
New Mexico when they face Western New Mexico on
Friday and then Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.
Texas Woman’s
The Pioneers were dealt back-to-back losses in five
sets against UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M.

West Texas A&M
The Lady Buffs moved to 12-8 with a 7-3 mark in
Lone Star Conference play throughout the first half of
league play. WT travels down Highway 60 on Tuesday
night to take on the rival Greyhounds of Eastern New
Mexico with first serve set for 7 p.m. CT. The Lady
Buffs will then host Midwestern State and Cameron
this weekend at the WTAMU Fieldhouse “”The Box””
in Canyon.”
Western New Mexico
WNMU recovered from a tough road trip at Angelo
State and Tarleton State, coming back to sweep
UTPB on Monday. Outside of top performances by
Heather Verrill, Melanie Hughes and Ashley Mataele,
Samantha Haupeakui added 19 kills, Kelli McGhiey
with 17 kills and Shannon Rich with both 14 kills and
10 blocks. Cristal Carrizoza was a close second in
assists adding 31. Verrill paced the offense with 26
kills and hit .339 in the nine sets played this week.
She posted a high of 11 in the match against Angelo
