LSC FOOTBALL ON ESPN3
A pair of Lone Star Conference football games are part of the 2016 Division II Football Showcase schedule and
will be broadcast on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.
UT Permian Basin will host West Texas A&M on September 17 in the Falconā€™s first LSC football game in the
programā€™s initial season. The league opener for both teams will kickoff at 7 p.m. from Ratliff Stadium.
For a second straight season, A&M-Commerce will host a national broadcast on October 8 as the Lions wel-
come Midwestern State. The game starts at 7 p.m.
NCAA Division II announced 18 of the 22 regular-season football games that will be carried on ESPN3, Wat-

Division II athletics events. By comparison, only seven games were televised in each of the 2013 and 2014
seasons.

touchdown came on a career-long 78-yard run. For his career, Cass has topped the century mark in nine games
over three seasons. His performance was ENMUā€™s first 200-yard game since Eā€™lon Spight rushed for 217 in the

LONE STAR CONFERENCE FOOTBALL WEEKLY RELEASE 2
Devon Paye, West Texas A&M University, had his
first 100-yard game in a Buffalo uniform in the Buffsā€™
26-10 upset win at No. 19 CSU-Pueblo on Saturday.
Paye had a career-high 19 carries for 100 yards and
also caught a career-high five balls for 47 yards in the
game as WT snapped CSUPā€™s 28-game home regular
season winning streak. Paye was masterful in the
running game as the Buffs tallied 102 yards rushing
for the contest.
Anthony Autry, Texas A&M University - Kingsville,
three of his four catches were touchdowns as the
senior/2015 All-LSC First Team selection led the club
with 109 yards... beginning the game with an 80-yard
TD grab, Autry and Myles Carr connected for the
second time moments later in the first quarter and
the second was started off with the third Carr-Autry
TD... despite his impressive numbers, Autry did not
see action after his third TD grab, ending the 68-7 win
with 4 receptions for 109 yards.
Chris Hoad, UT Permian Basin, had a classic game
for the Falcons this past week, leading the defense
with 13 total tackles in a 49-34 win over Arizona
Christian. The freshman linebacker forced a pair of
fumbles including a 30 yard strip that he took back
for the teamā€™s first touchdown of the game.
EJ Speed, Tarleton State University, caused havoc
all night for Southwest Baptist QB TJ Edwards as
Tarletonā€™s sophomore linebacker recorded 11 tackles
on the night, including six solo stops. Speed also had
1.5 sacks on the Bearcatsā€™ dual threat signal caller
while also getting pressure with a team-high three
QB hurries. Speedā€™s biggest play of the night came
on third-and-four with just over four minutes to go in
the game. Speed recorded a solo sack of Edwards on
third down to force a punt that ultimately led to the
Tarleton offense driving and scoring the game-tying
touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Hatari Byrd, Texas A&M University - Commerce,
led all tacklers in the DSU game with 11 stops - all
solos... He also had an interception with a 26-yard
return in the first quarter that set up the Lionsā€™ first
touchdown of the night...
Brad Hardin, Eastern New Mexico, turned in a
big game defensively for the Greyhounds in their
Lone Star Conference Opener against Western
New Mexico. He made a game-high 10 tackles and
pressured the quarterback twice. After a completed
pass in the fourth quarter, he single handedly created
a turnover, with a forced fumble and recovery. Seven
of his 10 tackles came in the first half, which saw
ENMU allow just 71 yards of total offense.
Brandon Jones, Texas A&M University - Kingsville,
and the Javelinas held Simon Fraser to just 101
total yards in a 68-7 victory Saturday as Texas A&M-
Kingsville improved to 2-0 in 2016... Jones registered
3.5 tackles for loss for 20 yards and three sacks and
added a forced fumble and two quarterback hits...
the Javelina defense forced five Clan turnovers.
John Pitts, Oklahoma Panhandle State, made some
big plays for the Aggies when they needed it most
against DI UAPB. The senior d-lineman got two big
sacks in the fourth quarter when the Goldne Lions
were within scoring range. The Aggies managed a 4th
quarter comeback thanks to strong defensive efforts
like Pittsā€™ displayed, winning 20-16 over Pine Bluff.
Ian Davis, Western New Mexico, came up big in the
secondary with a pair of interceptions, the first two
of the season for the Mustangs. His first INT setup
the first points of the season in the second quarter.
He tallied 34 yards in returns combined on the INT
returns.
Conner Hollabaugh, West Texas A&M University,
went 2 of 2 in field goals with a long of 43 in the Buffsā€™
26-10 upset win at No. 19 CSU-Pueblo on Saturday.
He scored seven points in the game and is just 12
points from breaking into the top 10 all-time in career
scoring at WT. He was 2 of 3 in extra-points as one
kick was blocked.
Tyler Vargas, Western New Mexico, continues to be
an extra weapon for the Mustangs on special teams,
as he was able to flip field position with a couple of
deep punts, including one for 52 yards and two that
landed inside the 20. He also added a field goal and
extra point to add to his solid day.
Casey Eyman, Angelo State University, was
another big factor for the Rams punting the ball 11
times averaging 39.8 yards per punt. He had a long
of 56 yards and placed three inside the 20. The junior
added a 22-yard field goal in the first quarter and a
23-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Erin Mack, UT Permian Basin, helped the Falcons
turn a two point lead into a 21-12 advantage heading
into halftime when he picked up a blocked 48
yard field goal attempt and took it in for a 40 yard
touchdown as time expired in the first half.
Ron Reid, Tarleton State University, continued
to show off his big leg as the junior punter from
Burleson booted seven punts for 306 yards, including
a career long punt of 65 yards. Reid averaged 43.7
yards per punt against the Bearcats and pinned two
down inside the 20 yard line.
Dā€™Maujeric Tucker, Eastern New Mexico University,
had a 27-yard kickoff return for ENMU in the second
quarter of Saturdayā€™s Lone Star Conference opener
against Western New Mexico. He also averaged 4.3
