LSC VOLLEYBALL
After one week of Lone Star Conference play four teams - Texas Woman’s, Texas A&M-Commerce, Angelo State,
and Cameron - are unbeaten.
LSC volleyball teams are 64-35 overall this season. The squads are currently 12-4 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 7-2 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues
in the NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State University, JR, Round Rock, Texas, Round Rock Christian Academy
Blauser continued to lead the Belles attack to a 5-0 record for the week with 66 kills and a solid .362 hitting
percentage. Setting a season high 23 kills in their first conference win of the season against Tarleton State she
then repeated the stellar performance for a second time against Dowling College. Blauser has hit double digit
kills in nine of Angelo State’s games this year. She capped off the week receiving all-tournament honors after
aiding Angelo State to and undefeated run through the International Hall of Fame Invitational in Springfield,
Massachusetts
DEFENSIVE
Katie MacLeay, Angelo State University, SR, San Antonio, Texas, Brandeis HS
MacLeay had a solid week anchoring the Belle defense and assisting the team to a 5-0 record. She totaled
102 digs in 16 sets averaging 6.38 digs per set for the week. She recorded four matches this week with over
20 digs totaling nine for the season. With 78 digs through four matches the senior defensive specialist earned
tournament MVP accolades and assisted ASU to an undefeated run through the Hall of Fame Invitational in
Springfield, Massachusetts. MacLeay and the Belles held the opposition to a .114 attacking percentage and 9.5
kills per set.
SETTER
Maggie Jo Keffury, Angelo State University, SR, Arroyo, Calif., Arroyo Grande HS
Keffury had a stellar week assisting the ASU attack and leading the team to a 5-0 record. She totaled 178 assist
in 15 sets averaging 11.87 per set. The senior setter has recorded at least 50 assists in four matches this season
and marked her fourth double-double of the season with 50 assists and 15 digs against Tarleton State. Keffury
also helped the Belles to an undefeated run through the International Hall of Fame Invitational in Springfield,
Massachusetts receiving all-tournament honors. During the four match event, she totaled 128 assist and 11.64
assist per set.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, despite a four-set loss to Angelo State in the LSC opener last week,
continued her dominance in Tarleton’s lone match of the week. The sophomore landed 25 kill shots for her
sixth 20-kill game of the season. With 12 digs, Roberts also posted her ninth double-double of the season in 11
games.
Ashley Bukowski, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, paced Texas A&M-Kingsville in their three matches with
43 kills for 3.58 k/s. She extended her double-double streak to four straight. Bukowski started the week with 10
kills and 17 digs. Saturday began with a 22-kill, 14 dig performance, with her kill total setting a new career-high.
Bukowski ended the week with 11 kills and 13 digs versus Midwestern State. For the week she totaled 44 digs
and 3.67 d/s and two blocks with a .286 attack percentage.
Makayla Mayfield, Texas Woman’s University, helped the Pioneers to a 2-0 start to the 2015 Lone Star
Conference schedule with a team-best 24 kills and 3.43 kills per set on the road. She posted a double-double
with a team-high 13 kills and 10 digs against Eastern New Mexico and then added 11 kills and seven digs at
West Texas A&M. On the season Mayfield leads the team with 114 kills and 3.45 kills per set.
Summer Alford, Texas A&M University - Commerce, played exceptionally well this weekend helping the Lions
knock off West Texas A&M in the Box. She also played a key role in the sweep against Eastern New Mexico and
with 11 kills. The Lions are 2-0 on opening weekend of conference play.

Lindsay Bost, Eastern New Mexico University, had
nine service aces over a three game stretch, tying a
single game career high with five aces against Texas
A&M-Commerce. She is currently second in the LSC
overall in aces and first overall in conference play with
seven total aces.
Madelyn Johnson, Midwestern State University,
recorded a career-best 31 digs against Texas A&M-
Kingsville ... Tied for eighth in the program record
books for digs in a four-set match ... Averaging 3.38
digs per set for 13th in the LSC ... Leads the league
and is tied for 14th nationally with 21 service aces.
Brett Zaccardo, Texas A&M University - Kingsville,
continued her outstanding performance this season
with 75 digs in three matches for a 6.25 per set
average. She opened with 15 digs against Cameron.
Zaccardo then set career-highs in digs (31) and assists
(8)against Our Lady of the Lake before closing the
weekend with 29 digs versus Midwestern State.
Adrianna Knutson, Tarleton State University, had
the best game of her young career in her first Lone
Star Conference match last week against Angelo
State in the Junell Center. The freshman defensive
specialist from San Antonio recorded a career-high 24
digs against the Rambelles, marking her first career
20-dig performance.
Ashley Mireles, Texas A&M University - Commerce,
was a leader on the defensive side and did well
getting the Lions into their offensive sets. Mireles
lead the team with 29 digs in seven sets.
Jenna Gillean, Cameron University, led the Aggie
defense with five blocks in their first three set sweep
at Texas A&M-Kingsville since Oct. 1991 on Friday
night. The freshman from Midland, Texas provided
Cameron with a team high 13 kills and had a .233
hitting percentage, while recording 15.5 total points
in the victory. Through nine matches this season,
Gillean has 30 total blocks and 89 kills.
Hillary Shaffer, Texas Woman’s University, was a
leader at the net helping the team post 17 total blocks
in the two road wins over the weekend. She led the
team with eight total blocks and 1.14 blocks per
set. Shaffer also added 19 kills and a team-best .356
hitting percentage. She had seven kills and six blocks
at Eastern New Mexico and then added a game-high
12 kills and two blocks at West Texas A&M. On the
season Shaffer leads the Pioneers in blocks (33) and
second in kills (90).
Chandler Gow, Tarleton State University, continued
her dominant start to the season with 47 more assists
in last week’s LSC opener against Angelo State. The
sophomore setter put together her sixth 40-assist
performance of the season.
Casey Klobedans, Texas A&M University -
Kingsville, had an outstanding week with 133 assists
and 11.08 a/s while helping the Javelinas hit .231 in
three matches. She also added 22 kills with no errors,
a .478 attack percentage and six blocks. Against
Cameron, Klobedans produced 31 assists, eight kills,
three digs and three blocks. Against Our Lady of the
Lake, she just missed a triple-double following a
56-assists, 11-dig and 9-kill performance. Klobedans
closed out the week with 46 assists, 15 digs and five
kills as TAMUK hit .262 versus Midwestern State.
Courtney Tate, Texas A&M University - Commerce,
continues to be a staple for the Lions. Tate had just
under ten assist per set and finished the weekend
with 67 assist in only seven sets.
Joey Redwine, Texas Woman’s University, helped
the Pioneers to a 2-0 record with two road wins. She
led the team with 62 assists and 8.86 assists per set.
Redwine recorded 28 assists against Eastern New
Mexico and then added a game-high 34 assists at
West Texas A&M. On the season she leads the team
with 316 assists and 9.58 assists per set.

Angelo State
The Belles went 5-0 for the week defeating Tarleton
State for their first conference win of the year.
Mallory Blauser continued to lead the Belles attack
with 66 kills and a solid .362 hitting percentage this
week. Maggie Jo Keffury totaled 178 assist in 15 sets
averaging 11.87 per set and marked her fourth double

against Tarleton State. Katie MacLeay and the Belles
held the opposition to a .114 attacking percentage
and 9.5 kills per set. MacLeay also recorded four

for the season. Angelo State continues conference
play on Tuesday in Commerce against Texas A&M –
Commerce at 6 p.m.

Eastern New Mexico
The ENMU volleyball team played two matches
over the weekend against two quality Lone Star
Conference teams, Texas Woman’s and Texas A&M
University-Commerce, dropping both matches and
moving to 5-6 on the season. Against Pioneers, the
Greyhounds played incredibly well in the third and
fourth sets after a slow start to the match. Lauren
Frye led the team with 20 kills and Brooklyn Biel
added 11. Andrea Aguilar finished with a game high
24 digs. Down in the match 2-0, the Greyhounds
overcame a 14-4 deficit to take the third set 27-25.
The fourth set saw ENMU ahead for the majority until
a late push by TWU saw the Pioneers take the set
25-22. Despite losing in straight sets to Commerce,
ENMU again played very well and lost two of the
three sets by three or fewer points. Lindsay Bost
tied a career-high with five service aces in the match
and currently sits at No. 5 all-time for a single game
performance. Prior to the Greyhounds conference
opener, the Greyhounds traveled to New Mexico
Highlands where they beat the Cowgirls in straight
sets. ENMU went 0-3 against Highlands in 2014.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State dropped a 3-1 contest to Texas
A&M-Kingsville in its Lone Star Conference opener
Saturday in Kingsville to fall to 4-7, 0-1 LSC. Junior
libero Madelyn Johnson recorded a career-best
31 digs against the Javelinas to tie for eighth in the
program record books for digs in a four-set match.
Offensively, sophomore outside hitter Meghan
Bettis led the Mustangs with 15 kills on a .300 hitting
percentage. Midwestern continues LSC play Tuesday
with a 7 p.m. match against Cameron in Lawton, Okla.
Tarleton State
Tarleton traveled to Angelo State last week for its
LSC opener and fell in four sets despite 25 kills from
Hailey Roberts, 47 assists from Chandler Gow, and 24
digs from Adrianna Knutson.
Texas A&M-Commerce
2-0 last week.

Texas A&M-Kingsville went 1-2 for the week... Fell

Texas Woman’s
TWU opened the Lone Star Conference schedule
with two road wins to improve its record to 8-2 on
the season and 2-0 in the conference. Three players
recorded double-doubles to help the Pioneers defeat
Eastern New Mexico in four sets, 25-16, 25-18, 25-27,
and 25-22, on Friday. TWU then swept West Texas
A&M, 25-14, 27-25, and 25-19, on Saturday. The
win is the first at the WTAMU Fieldhouse “The Box”
for the Pioneers in school history and also snapped
a 24-game losing streak against the Lady Buffs.
Freshman Makayla Mayfield led the team on offense
with 24 kills and 3.43 kills per set while senior Hillary
Shaffer posted 19 kills and a team-best eight blocks.
Junior Mallory Kuechle had 29 digs while senior Joey
Redwine posted 62 assists.
West Texas A&M
The Lady Buffs continued their youth struggles this
past weekend as they lost a pair of LSC matches
against Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman’s
at the WTAMU Fieldhouse “”The Box”” in Canyon to
move to 4-6 (0-2 LSC) on the season. Friday night’s
four set loss to the Lions snapped a 38-match regular-
season win streak and Saturday’s loss to TWU marked
the Pioneers first ever win in Canyon. WT looks to
rebound this weekend as they hit the road to face-off
with Tarleton State and Angelo State.
