1. LSC SOFTBALL
Angelo State holds the top spot in the Lone Star Conference standings at 21-3 in league play with West Texas
A&M in second place. ASU hosts Texas A&M-Commerce, while Texas A&M-Kingsville is at WT this week.
LSC teams are playing a single round-robin schedule with a three-game series against each league opponent.
The overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference
games, while the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion
and receive the league’s automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. The single-elimination championship
featuring the top six teams will be played May 5-6, at the No. 1 seed.
LSC softball teams are 259-230 overall this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the group is currently
55-41 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 17-9 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Kylee Moore, West Texas A&M University, SO, Infielder, Van, Texas, Van
Moore had a monster weekend for the No. 6 Lady Buffs as they took over sole possession of second place in
the LSC standings with a series win at Cameron. The sophomore went 7-of-9 at the plate to his .778 on the
weekend with three doubles and three home runs to drive in seven RBI with 19 total bases for an incredible
slugging percentage of 2.111. The Van native walked twice and didn’t strike out while scoring nine runs for an
on-base percentage of .833. Moore was almost unstoppable at the plate as the left hander hit a pair of home
runs in Game 1 to drive in four RBI followed by a Saturday doubleheader with three doubles and another long
ball to drive in three more RBI.
PITCHER
Breanna Smith, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, FR, Pitcher, San Antonio, Texas
Smith logged the second shutout of the Eastern New Mexico series in her seventh complete game this year.
Smith recorded five strikeouts, walked one batter and held the Greyhounds bats to a .174 average in the
Javelinas third shutout this season. Smith has 81 Ks this season, which sits inside the top ten of the LSC. Her
performance followed Carlie Clark’s shutout no-hitter to open the series.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Taegan Kirk, Angelo State University, led the Rambelles at the plate with a .750 average in a sweep of UT
Permian Basin. The sophomore scored a team-high five runs and six hits. Four of her six hits were extra bases
with three doubles and one home run. She slugging 1.5000 percent and ended the weekend with a .778 on
base percentage. The Lubbock native also drove in four RBI.
Victoria Schoonard-Saborio, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, after a week off from conference competition,
showed no signs of slowing down as the sophomore batted .667 and had a 1.111 slugging percentage in the
series sweep against Eastern New Mexico. Victoria led the club with six hits highlighted by a three-run shot, five
RBIs and swiped two bags on two attempts. The California native has been on a tear this season and currently
sits third in the league with a .454 batting average and fourth with a .539 on-base percentage.
Breezy McComas, Cameron University, made the most of CU’s 13-12 win over No. 6 West Texas A&M last
Friday. She went 3-3 with two homers and nine RBI in the 13-12 win. In her first at bat, McComas had a three
run homer that made her the CU all-time career homerun leader at 44. In the next inning, she drove in two
more runs on a RBI single. In the fourth, McComas hit a grand slam, extending her home run total to 45 and
giving her nine RBI on the day, which broke the school’s single game mark and tied the LSC mark. She hit .625
with a 1.375 slugging percentage in the 2-1 series loss to the Buffs. McComas now has 10 homers and 32 RBI
on the season.
Morgan Harrison, Texas Woman’s University, pieced together a consistently reliable offensive performance
for TWU in the series against Midwestern State. The senior tallied six hits in her 10 at bats and garnered six RBI.
Harrison’s heady play also earned her two walks and a pair of stolen bases.
Mariah Jameyson, Texas A&M University-Commerce, hit two more home runs last week versus Western New
Mexico to now total 16 on the season. One of her home runs was a walk off blast. She hit .500 and slugged
1.000 with six RBIs and four runs scored. She leads the nation in RBIs with 62 and is third in the nation in home
runs. She is also fifth in the nation in total bases. She is second in the LSC in slugging, fourth in hits and eighth
in batting average.
Kinsie Hebler, Texas A&M University-Commerce, continued to shine for the Lions in her three starts last week
versus Western New Mexico. She gave up just one run in 12.0 innings pitched, holding batters to a .220 average.
She struck out seven batters and had an ERA of 0.58. With her two wins last week, Hebler now has 10 wins in
her freshman campaign. In addition to her pitching, she also led the Lions in batting average, hitting .545 with
six hits, five RBIs and three runs scored. She drew three walks and had a slugging percentage of .636. She is
fourth in the conference in ERA and second in opponent batting average. As a hitter, she is fourth in home runs,
third in RBIs and seventh in batting average.
Kaylee Rogers, Eastern New Mexico University, tossed 11.1 of the Greyhounds 14 innings last week at
Texas A&M-Kingsville. Her .320 batting average allowed was almost .100 lower than the team-allowed batting
average for the series. In the finale, she allowed just one earned run and scattered seven base hits.
Hailey Dixon, Texas Woman’s University, notched two wins in the circle for the Pioneers in her two
appearances against Midwestern State while holding the Mustangs to a .136 batting average.

The Aggies lost their series with No. 6 West Texas A&M two games to one this past weekend. In the game one
slug fest, Breezy McComas put up record breaking numbers, hitting her CU career best 44th and 45th homers
and driving in a single game record nine RBI, which tied the LSC mark. It was Paige Daino who would be the hero
in the end as she drove in the game tying and winning runs on a single in the seventh to give CU the 13-12 win.
The Cameron bats would go silent in the final two games, as the Black and Gold lost by a combined scored of
28-3 in the two five-inning contests.
Eastern New Mexico
Last week, the Hounds dropped a Lone Star Conference series at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Freshman pitcher
Kaylee Rogers continued to perform well and allowed just one earned run in the finale. This week, Eastern will
visit Oklahoma Panhandle State.
Midwestern State
1-2 last week.
Tarleton State
Did not play last week.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions picked up three more conference wins and swept Western New Mexico in their four-game series. The
Lions hit .389 and scored 35 runs in the four games. A&M-Commerce continues to lead the conference and is
second in the nation in stolen bases. They also lead the conference in fielding percentage. The team currently
sits in fifth place in the conference standings with six conference games remaining. They will next take on the
league-leading Angelo State Rambelles in a three-game series over the weekend.
Texas A&M-Kingsville

Texas Woman’s
TWU dropped game one of the series against Midwestern State before winning the final two.
UT Permian Basin

West Texas A&M
The No. 6 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M took over sole possession of second place in the Lone Star Conference
standings this past weekend with a series win in Lawton, Oklahoma against the Cameron Aggies. WT his .477 as
a team on the weekend with 12 doubles and nine homeruns to drive in 39 RBI with 81 total bases for a slugging
percentage of .920 with 10 walks and just two strikeouts for an on-base clip of .524. The Lady Buffs return to
Canyon this week for a non-conference Tuesday doubleheader against the NAIA’s top ranked Stars of Oklahoma
City followed by an LSC series in Canyon against Texas A&M-Kingsville for Senior Weekend at Schaeffer Park.
