LSC VOLLEYBALL
Angelo State, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M started Lone Star Conference play

League play con nues this week with matches Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
LSC volleyball teams are 68-49 overall this season. The squads are currently 14-9 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athle c Conference teams, and 16-4 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues
in the NCAA South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, JR, Cedar Park, Texas, Cedar Park HS
The na onal leader in kills per set con nued her torrid pace as Hailey Roberts led Tarleton to back-to-back
sweeps of Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman’s to give the TexAnns a 2-0 start in conference play. The
junior outside hi er blasted 31 kills in six sets over the weekend on a .292 hi ng percentage, including 15 kills
with a .351 hi ng clip against Commerce in a double-double performance. Her 31 kills improved her na onal
lead in kills per set to 5.41. She also totaled one assist, 20 digs, four blocks, and had 33.5 points in the two
sweeps.
DEFENSIVE
Elisa Bentsen, West Texas A&M University, SR, Hesperia, California, Oak Hills HS
Bentsen con nued to lead WT this past week as the senior from Hesperia, California ran the Lady Buff win
streak to four matches to move to 6-4 overall with a 2-0 start to LSC play with wins on the road over Cameron
and Midwestern State. The senior registered 23 kills on 45 swings with just five a ack errors to hit .400 on the
weekend to go along with seven digs and an incredible 18 total blocks (four solo, 14 assisted) to average 2.00
per set. Bentsen set a new career high with 15 kills on Friday night in Lawton as the Lady Buffs topped Cameron
in a five-set thriller, she tallied three digs and nine blocks in the victory.
SETTER
Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, FR, San Antonio, Texas, Johnson HS
Dispersing the ball for the Belles, Parker con nues to turn in top numbers. Tallying 40 assists against TWU
and 33 against TAMUC, the freshman averaged 12.10 assists per set. She con nues to lead the team and the
LSC with 475 total assists for an average of 11.88 per set. With 18 service aces in 2016, she leads the Belles
from service line. The freshman also assisted the defense as she recorded a career high 15 digs against Texas
Woman’s and completed the week with 20 total digs. This gave Parker her team highest sixth double-double
on the season.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State University, con nued to lead the Belles a ack this week in its pair of sweeps,
recording 26 total kills, which averaged the senior 4.33 kills per set and a .414 clip for the two matches. With 12
kills against TWU and 14 against Texas A&M- Commerce the senior marked her ninth consecu ve double-figure
kill game. Climbing to sixth on the all- me career kill list with 1095 kills, she needs only two kills to break into
the top five all- me. She is currently leads the LSC in total kills (186) and is second in average kills per set (4.65).
Assis ng the ASU defense, Blauser recorded 20 total digs on the weekend and claimed her fourth double-
double of the year.
Erin Richburg, Midwestern State University, led the Mustangs offense during the opening weekend of LSC
play, pos ng 4.00 kills per set including a career-best 19 kills and .311 percentage against West Texas A&M. The
Rowle na ve tallied her first career double-double with 10 digs against the Lady Buffs. Richburg also added a
team-high nine kills in a win over UT Permian Basin in the conference opener.
Shannon Rich, Western New Mexico, was accurate with her swings, hi ng a solid .354 coming away with
22 kills and adding up just five errors. She had at least five kills in the three matches, going for a high of 11 in

Ashley Mataele, Western New Mexico, came up
large on the back row for the Lady Mustangs pos ng
66 digs in just 11 sets. She posted dig numbers of 17
and 15 in two of the matches, before erup ng for 34
in the five-set comeback win against St. Edward’s.
Mataele averaged a solid 6.0 digs per set. She also
added nine assists and four service aces.
Adrianna Knutson, Tarleton State University,
was a defensive force from the libero posi on for
Tarleton as the sophomore’s defense led Tarleton
to back-to-back sweeps of Texas A&M-Commerce
and Texas Woman’s to open Lone Star Conference
play last weekend. Knutson anchored the Tarleton
defense that held opponents to a mere .111 hi ng
percentage in six sets. She totaled 29 digs with back-
to-back double-digit dig performances, including 18
against the Pioneers Saturday a ernoon.
Brooke Robertson, Angelo State University, In her
first pair of starts at the libero posi on in 2016, the
junior set a career record with 15 digs against Texas
Woman’s and followed the stellar performance with
13 digs against Texas A&M - Commerce. Robertson
and the Belles held its two opponents this week
to a combined .065 a ack percentage. Her stellar
defensive performances played a primary role in
assis ng the Belles to a pair of sweeps. Offensively,
she led the Belles from the service line dropping in a
career high five aces against the Pioneers.
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, con nues
to dish out assists at a record pace for the TexAnns.
The junior from Hawaii distributed 66 assists in six sets
for an average of 11.0 assists per set last weekend to
lead Tarleton to back-to-back sweeps of Texas A&M-
Commerce and Texas Woman’s. Keamo moved to No.
8 in the na on in assists per set with 11.53 dimes
per game while also taking over the na onal lead in
service aces with 28. Last weekend, Keamo landed a
team high five service aces while adding four kills, 14
digs, three blocks, and 10.5 points. She also dealt the
ball around as four different TexAnns amassed at least
10 kills in Tarleton’s six sets and the team boasted a
.262 hi ng percentage.
Melanie Hughes, Western New Mexico, dished out
53 assists with a high of 30 coming in the win against
St. Edward’s. She also made an impact in the service
game spinning in seven aces, with a high of four
coming in the 3-0 sweep of Texas A&M Interna onal.
Hughes added some defensive numbers as well going
for 31 digs, with a high of 16 against the Hilltoppers.

Angelo State
The No. 8 Belles (11-1, 2-0 LSC) finished the week
pocke ng a pair of sweeps as it opened conference
play with Texas Woman’s and Texas A&M –
Commerce. Senior Mallory Blauser con nues to lead
ASU’s potent offensive a ack as she turned in 26 total
kills this week. Assis ng the Belles in all facets of the
game, Brianna Sotello was second on the squad with
18 total kills and 21 total digs for the week. Junior
Brooke Robertson made her first pair of starts at
the libero posi on for 2016 and recorded two stellar
performances. She set a career record with 15 digs
against TWU and followed the next day with 13 digs
against TAMUC. Robertson also led the Belles from
the service line dropping in a career high five aces
against the Pioneers. ASU con nues its LSC slate
with Tarleton State, UTPB and West Texas A&M this
coming week.

Midwestern State
Midwestern State began Lone Star Conference play
with a 1-1 record last weekend inside D.L. Ligon
Coliseum. The Mustangs took down UT Permian Basin
3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-16) for their first conference
win since 2014 in the conference opener Friday. MSU
then fell to West Texas A&M in a ght four-set match
(25-21, 26-24, 26-28, 25-18) the following day to drop
to 5-5 on the season. The Mustangs face Cameron
tonight at 7 p.m. in Lawton, Okla., before making
a trip west this weekend to face Eastern N.M. and
Western N.M.
Tarleton State
Tarleton opened conference play with back-to-back
sweeps of Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman’s.
The TexAnns will host No. 8 Angelo State Tuesday in
Wisdom Gym before hi ng the road this weekend
with trips to West Texas A&M and UT Permian Basin.

A&M-Commerce opened LSC play with losses at
Tarleton State and No. 8 Angelo State last week... In
the loss at Tarleton,Shantel Norton led the Lions with
13 kills, hi ng for a .346 percentage in the match...
Daisge Smith and Lacie Jessup ed for the team lead
with 10 digs apiece... Both Rylie Fuentes and Gabriela
Rosa passed out 18 assists... The Lions hit .139 in the
match, while the TexAnns hit .273... In the loss at
Angelo, Taryn Driver’s nine kills led the Lion offensive

The Lady Buffs ran their win streak to four matches
this past weekend as they opened Lone Star
Conference play with a pair of road wins at Cameron
and Midwestern State to improve to 6-4 (2-0 LSC) on
the season. The Lady Buffs were led by Elisa Bentsen
who set a new career high with 15 kills on Friday
night in Lawton while tallying 18 total blocks on the
weekend to average 2.00 per frame. WT senior libero
Lauren Bri en con nued her ascent up the WTAMU
career digs list as the senior now sits in seventh place
with 1,741 career digs, just 18 shy of Holly Morgan
(1,759) for sixth place. The Lady Buffs return to the

Interna onal (3-0). The Lady Mustangs are now 8-4

this week in the home openers against Cameron
