The squads are currently 13-9 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 1-1 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, FR, Cedar Park, Texas, Cedar Park HS
Roberts had arguably the best first career week of any TexAnn in school history. The true freshman from Cedar
Park has a league-high 94 kills in 23 sets to lift Tarleton to a 4-1 start to the season. She made her collegiate
debut with 27 kills, which tied her for eighth most in a single match in school history, to lead Tarleton past
regional power Arkansas-Fort Smith Friday afternoon. She has recorded four double-doubles in her first five
matches, has had at least 20 kills in three of the first five matches and has hit over a .300 percentage in two of
the first five matches. She also had a team-high 10 service aces and 83 total digs over the weekend en route to
being named to the All-Tournament team at the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational at Angelo State. To cap off her
week, Roberts turned in a clutch performance Monday night to secure the TexAnn win over Texas Wesleyan on
the road. Tarleton was tied 11 in the fifth set but Roberts sealed the game by having a hand in all four of the
final points – three kills and an assisted block – to give Tarleton the road victory.
DEFENSIVE
Casey Fletcher, Midwestern State University, SR, Eddy, Texas, Moody HS
Fletcher played a key defensive role while helping Midwestern State to a 3-1 record at the season opening
Hampton Inn-vitational. The senior from Eddy, who leads the Lone Star Conference averaging 6.71 digs per
set, recorded a career high 36 digs in a five-set win over Colorado State-Pueblo in the season opener. Fletcher
followed the effort with a 29-dig performance in a four-set victory over Fort Lewis. She closed the weekend
with a pair of 20-dig efforts Saturday against Southwestern Oklahoma and Arkansas Tech. The Mustangs limited
the opposition to a .143 attack percentage.
SETTER
Alexa Johnson, Angelo State University, SO, La Vista, Neb., Papillion HS
In her first matches as a Belle, setter Alexa Johnson had 176 assists (11.00 per set) and 29 digs. A sophomore
from Nebraska, Johnson played for Lamar University last season before transferring to Angelo State this season.
She established a season-high 57 assists in ASU’s five-set loss to UAF before contributing 47 assists in a four-set
win over WNMU. She also had 45 assists in the season-opener against MSSU and 27 in the sweep of UAM.
Johnson had an ace in three of four matches last weekend and supplied seven kills against MSSU and six kills
against UAFS.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State University, led the Belles in the kill category last weekend with 67 (4.19 per set)
and was named to the all-tournament team for her performances. A transfer from the University of Cincinnati,
Blauser had a weekend-high 21 kills against Arkansas Fort Smith in a five-set match. She also had 17 kills in
matches against Missouri Southern and Western New Mexico to go along with a 12-kill effort in a three-set
win over Arkansas-Monticello. A Round Rock native, Blauser also contributed four blocks and 11 digs over the
weekend.
Ashley Bukowski, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, led the Javelinas with 48 kills in the Rollins Invitational.
She was also named to the All-Tournament team at the Rollins Invitational. The sophomore middle blocker
had a season-high 16 kills and a .467 hitting percentage against UNC Pembroke. Bukowski also added 13 kills, 5
blocks and a .391 hitting percentage to lead Texas A&M-Kingsville to a 3-2 win against St. Cloud State.

The sophomore from Wichita Falls averaged 2.50
kills and 0.94 blocks per set with an efficient .312
hitting percentage. Garfield delivered 10-or-more
kills in three of the Mustangs’ four matches including
a weekend best 13 against Colorado State-Pueblo.
She finished strong committing a single error while
putting down 12 kills in 28 attacks (.393) in a five-set
loss to Arkansas Tech. She added a solid effort with
10 kills (.350) and seven total blocks in a sweep of
Southwestern Oklahoma.
Katie Covell, Tarleton State University, a two-time
all-conference outside hitter, took over as the starting
libero for the TexAnns to begin this season and
answered the call by posting three straight career-best
defensive performances. The fifth-year senior
tied a career-high 26 digs in each of the first two
games before setting a new career mark with her first
career 30-dig game against Missouri Southern State
Saturday morning. Covell has recorded at least 20
digs in all of the first five games to lead the TexAnns
to a 4-1 start. She has also added 22 kills, 16 of which
came against Arkansas-Monticello as Covell led a
furious comeback win over the Cotton Blossoms after
Tarleton fell behind 0-2 in the match.
Shelby Wilt, Angelo State University, established
a season-high with 28 digs against UAFS and had 18
against MSSU and 17 in matches against UAM and
WNMU. Wilt, who is a captain on this year’s team,
now has 1,942 digs in her career and was named to
last weekend’s all-tournament team.
Ashley Tipps, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, led
the Javelinas with 15 blocks in the Rollins Invitational.
The senior middle blocker had a season-high 30 kills
during the tournament as well. Tipps had 11 kills in
both the St. Cloud State and UNC Pembroke matches.
During the tournament, her hitting percentage was
.355.
Morgan Wilson, Texas Woman’s University, helped
the team to 3-1 record at the BritKare Lady Buff
Classic. She was named to the all-tournament team
after leading all players at the tournament with 83
digs. Wilson posted a career-high 32 digs against UC-Colorado
Springs and averaged 4.61 digs per set. She
also added five service aces and had just 2 receiving
errors on 64 attempts for a .969 percentage.
Sarah Rosinke, Midwestern State University, stood
out stepping into the primary setter role helping
Midwestern State to a 3-1 showing at the season
opening Hampton Inn-vitational. The sophomore
from League City, who ranks second in the Lone
Star Conference at 10.31 set assists per game, put a
career-high 52 assists in a five-set win over Colorado
State-Pueblo while completing a double-double with
14 digs. Rosinke notched her second 50-plus assist
outing Saturday against Arkansas Tech. She led the
Mustangs to a .303 team hitting percentage with
41 set assists against Fort Lewis and had 33 assists
against Southwestern Oklahoma.
Chandler Gow, Tarleton State University, has
stepped into the starting setter role for Tarleton,
replacing all-time assist leader Danielle Barker, and
has not missed a beat. The true freshman from
Mansfield has topped the 20-assist mark in four
of the first five games. She set a career mark of 36
assists in her first career game against Arkansas-Fort
Smith and recorded her first career double-double
with 28 assists and 10 digs against Missouri Southern
State.
Joey Redwine, Texas Woman’s University, made
her debut with the Pioneers and successfully ran
a 6-2 offense. She led the team with 114 assists
(6.33 per set) and helped TWU to a 3-1 record at the
BritKare Lady Buff Classic. Redwine posted 24, 18
and 26 assists in the first three games respectively

Middle blocker Ashley Bukowski had a stellar first
weekend for the Javelinas at the Rollins Invitational.
She earned all-tourney honors after posting 48
kills, nine total blocks and three aces…Ashley Tipps
had a team-best 10 total blocks against St. Cloud
State to help lead the team to its second victory of
the season…Kelsey Washington where she left off
last year posting 33 kills over the weekend, second
highest total on the team. She had 10 kills in the
win over UNC Pembroke…Freshman Krystal Faison is
second for the Javelinas in kills with 45 kills including
16 against St. Cloud State…Kingsville’s season
continues the season as they host the Emerald Beach
Hotel Javelina Volleyball Invitational from Sept. 12-
13.
Texas Woman’s
The TWU volleyball team opened the 2014 season
with a 3-1 record at the BritKare Lady Buff Classic.
The Pioneers defeated Regis (3-2) and New Mexico
Highland (3-0) on the opening day on Friday before
splitting the two games on Saturday against Adams
State (2-3) and UC-Colorado Springs (3-2). Senior
Kelci Lind recorded a career-high 14 kills in the
opener against Regis and finished the tournament
with 37 kills. Freshman Elizabeth Pennington made
her collegiate debut and posted a team-best 42 kills
in the four games. Senior Morgan Wilson was the
leader on defense with 83 digs and was named to
the all-tournament team. Junior Joey Redwine also
made her debut with TWU and led the team with 114
assists while running a 6-2 offense.

The Belles went 3-1 last weekend at the Kathleen
Brasfield Invitational with victories over Missouri
Southern, Arkansas-Monticello and Western New
Mexico and a five-set defeat to Arkansas Fort Smith.
ASU had eight newcomers and eight returners take
the court for the start of the 2014 season with Mallory
Blauser leading the attack with 67 kills and Alexa
Johnson contributing 176 assists. Shelby Wilt led the
way with 124 digs and Katie MacLeay contributed 64
digs and had three aces. ASU is back in action this
week with matches against Texas Woman’s, Cameron,
Midwestern State and Harding.
Cameron
Cameron went 3-1 last weekend at Wichita Falls and
they are on their longest winning streak since 2012
with three matches won in a row. The Aggies had
their first five set win in 12 tries on Saturday against
CSU-Pueblo to give Head Coach Qi Wang his first win
at Cameron. As a group Cameron averaged 12.8 kills
per set and 17.9 digs per set, while averaging about
two aces per match. The Aggies will open LSC play
this weekend with an interesting matchup with Coach
Wang’s previous school Angelo State on Friday and
Tarleton State will then roll into Lawton on Saturday
to close the week out.
