LSC VOLLEYBALL
Tarleton State leads the Lone Star Conference standings at 14-2 with Texas A&M-Commerce in second at 11-4.
LSC action heats up this week with five matches on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
LSC volleyball teams are 142-137 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-17 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 13-6 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the
NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Erin Clark, West Texas A&M University, FR, Scottsdale, Arizona, Horizon
Clark continued to lead the Lady Buffs offensively last weekend as the freshman helped WT extend their win streak to
five matches with wins over Lubbock Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State. The Scottsdale
native registered 34 kills (3.09 per set) on 106 swings with nine attack errors to hit .236 on the week to go along with
two assists, 32 digs and four block assists while tallying 36.0 points (3.27 per set). Clark sparked the Lady Buffs to a four
set win over Tarleton on Saturday afternoon to snap the TexAnns 15-match win streak as the freshman tallied 17 kills on
40 attempts with no attack errors to hit .425 with 15 digs for a double-double.
DEFENSIVE
Chandler Vogel, West Texas A&M University, FR, Hereford, Texas, Hereford
Vogel continued to impress for the Lady Buffs this past weekend as the freshman libero led WT to wins over Lubbock
Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State to run WT's win streak to five matches. The Hereford
native registered 56 digs on the week to average 5.09 per set while also tallying three assists and four service aces.
Vogel was a force in the back row for the Lady Buffs in a pair of Top-25 wins as the freshman held ASU and TSU to a
combined .171 attack percentage with 36 digs in those two victories.
SETTER
Selena Batiste, West Texas A&M University, SO, Portland, Oregon, Central Catholic
Batiste continued to guide the Lady Buff offense this past weekend as the sophomore led WT to wins over Lubbock
Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State. The Portland native dished out 101 assists in the 11 sets
to average 9.18 per frame to go along with 13 kills, four service aces, 29 digs, eight block assists and 21.0 points in three
wins. Batiste dished out a combined 71 assists against ASU and TSU to average 8.9 per frame while capping off the
weekend with 35 assists and 12 digs for a double-double as the Lady Buffs snapped the TexAnns 15-match win streak.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, led Tarleton to two more wins last week as Tarleton extended its record-
win streak to 15 straight games with victories over No. 21 Angelo State and UT Permian Basin. Roberts boasted double-
figure kills in all three Tarleton matches, including 18 against Angelo State. She hit .257 for the week to go along with
four assists, a service ace, 26 digs, five blocks, and 52.5 total points. With a 15-kill, 10-dig performance at UT Permian
Basin, Roberts records her 79th career double-double.
Kalie Lyle, Western New Mexico, led the offense with 29 kills, posting a .254 hitting percentage and averaging 4.14
kills per set. She also had five assists, a service ace, 11 digs and three blocks. Lyle had 16 kills in the four-set win against
Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double with nine digs. In the three-set win over Cameron she hit .308 with 13
kills.
Layne Little, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the Lions in hitting, notching 24 kills last week, including a
season-high 18 kills in the Lions' 3-1 win against A&M-Kingsville. Little averaged 3.43 kills per set in the Lions two wins
and hit .323 in her combined effort. She had six kills and hit .375 in the Lions' sweep of Texas Woman's. Little also had
five assisted blocks on the defensive end to go along with seven digs combined over the two matches. She scored 26.5
points to lead the Lions in scoring, including 19 points against the Javelinas.
Addison Semer, Midwestern State University, hit an ultra-effective .490 with 3.25 kills per set to help Midwestern
State to a split of road matches last weekend in New Mexico to pull within a game of the eighth spot in the Lone Star
Conference standings. The senior from Bastrop struck for 15 kills and one error in 26 swings to hit .536 in a four-set win
over Eastern New Mexico Saturday night in Portales. She struck for 11 kills with one error in 23 attempts to hit .435 the
day before at Western New Mexico. The middle blocker also contributed three total blocks in both matches. Semer
ranks seventh in the LSC in hitting percentage at .289.
Krystal Faison, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, eclipsed the top spot in the school's record book in career service
aces after recording four in two matches this weekend. Faison finished with 23 kills in eight sets, averaging 2.88 kills per
set. She also added five blocks to total 29.5 points. The Converse, Texas native registered two double-doubles after
logging 11 kills and 18 digs with three aces against Texas Woman's and then 12 kills and 12 digs and one ace against
A&M-Commerce. The senior currently sits third all-time with 1,376 career kills and 1,616.5 career points.
Morgan Seaton, Angelo State University, was a role player in the Belles offensive attack this week as she turned in a
squad best .364 clip. The senior averaged 2.18 kills per set recording 24 total kills for the trio of matches. From the
service line, the Big Spring, Texas native fired a team most five aces over the net. The middle blocker continued to
maintain her spot leading the team with 11 total blocks on the week. This averaged her 1.00 blocks per set. Finally,
Seaton helped the Belles defense digging 12 total balls. This included a season high six dig performance against No.11
Tarleton State. Andrea Aguilar, Eastern New Mexico University, Aguilar put together another stellar defensive weekend,
racking up 50 digs against Cameron and Midwestern State. Against the Aggies, the libero snuffed out 27 attacks, tying
the school record for most digs in a three-set match. On Saturday, the Clovis product turned in another 20+ dig
performance with 23 against the Mustangs. Aguilar is now 137 digs away from setting the career digs record in team
history.
Bailey French, Texas Woman's University, twice tallied game-highs in digs for the Pioneers last week. The
sophomore tallied 16 at Texas A&M-Commerce and fell one dig short of tying her career-high with 30 versus
Southeastern Oklahoma State. French also added 11 assists and two digs throughout the four weekly matches.
Brianna Sotello, Angelo State University, continued to be an integral piece to the Belles defense this week. The
senior captain turned in a team second 33 digs for the three matches. This averaged her 3.00 digs per set. The outside
hitter also added a squad second eight blocks to the mix. Offensively, the San Antonio, Texas native slammed down a
team most 35 kills, which averaged her 3.18 kills per set. Tallying double-figure kills and digs against both WTAMU and
UTPB, Sotello marked a pair of double-doubles for the week. She now leads ASU with 13 total on the season. From the
service line, she also dropped in a pair of aces.
Jaslyn Wacker, Texas A&M University-Commerce, helped the Lion defense hold opponents to a hitting percentage
of just .090 last week in two matches. She had four blocks in the Lions' sweep of Texas Woman's. She then had six
blocks, including two solo blocks, in the Lions' 3-1 win over A&M-Kingsville. Wacker had just one blocking error. She also
had four aces and four digs. She added offense as well, scoring 24.5 points, the second most on the team. Wacker is
third in the conference in hitting percentage and fifth in blocks.
Heather Verrill, Western New Mexico, sent back 13 blocks, including five solo in the seven sets this week. She
averaged 1.86 blocks per set and had 16 kills, a service ace and three digs. Verrill had nine blocks, with two coming solo
in the four-set win over Midwestern State. She also added nine kills. In the three-set win over Cameron she had three
solo blocks and seven kills. She helped limit the opposition to a .126 hitting clip.
Raven Presley, Midwestern State University, played a central role in Midwestern State's block party over the
weekend, which resulted in a Lone Star Conference split with Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico to move
the Mustangs within a game of the eighth and final berth in the league postseason tournament. The true frosh from
Richardson averaged 1.62 blocks per set including a pair of solo blocks and 11 assists as MSU posted its sixth and
seventh double-figure team block efforts of the campaign. Presley amassed a season-high 14 kills and had eight blocks in
a four-set win over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday after notching 11 kills and five blocks the previous day at Western
New Mexico. She was also impressive on the attack hitting .309 with 3.12 kills per set for the weekend. Presley rose to
sixth in the LSC upping her average to 1.03 blocks per set.
Lexi Wick, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a big weekend in the middle with ten total blocks, averaging 1.25
blocks per set. She was a vital part of holding opponents to a .134 attack percentage with a team-best three solo blocks
and just one blocking error. Wick was very consistent this past weekend with nine kills and five blocks in both matches
against Texas Woman's and A&M-Commerce.
Hannah McManus, Tarleton State University, dominated the net for the TexAnns as she helped Tarleton to two wins
to extend their record-win streak to 15 last week. McManus boasted 11 blocks to lead the team, for an average of 1.10
blocks per set. In addition to her work at the net, McManus landed 16 kills on a .314 hitting clip. She had five blocks in
Tarleton's sweep of No. 21 Angelo State last Tuesday.
Kristan Aduddell, Midwestern State University, spurred the Midwestern State offense in a split of Lone Star
Conference matches in New Mexico to pull the Mustangs to within a game of the eighth and final spot in the league's
postseason tournament. The senior from The Colony averaged 11.50 set assists per set as MSU hit .183 as a team to go
along with 2.50 digs per set. Aduddell logged her sixth double-double of the season with 43 set assists and 13 digs Friday
against Western New Mexico, then led the Mustangs to victory with 49 set assists and seven digs Saturday at Eastern
New Mexico. She rates second in the LSC with a set assists average of 10.21 per set.
Katy Ranes, Texas Woman's University, tossed out a career-high 58 assists against Southeastern Oklahoma State,
the highest single-match total from an LSC setter this season. The sophomore collected three match-highs in assists
along with three double-doubles in assists and digs. Ranes also added seven kills, three aces and a block on the week.
Casey Klobedans, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, totaled 82 assists and averaged an impressive 10.25 assists per
set in eight sets played. She also had 25 digs in the two matches. Klobedans registered a double-double against Texas
Woman's with 50 assists and 17 digs and nearly had another against A&M-Commerce with 32 assists and eight digs. The
senior also logged five kills and five blocks last weekend.
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, continued her dominant run as the senior setter from Mililani, Hawaii
dished out 101 assists in three matches last week, including two wins to extend Tarleton's record-win streak to 15.
Keamo topped 30 assists in all three matches with a week-high 37 at West Texas A&M Saturday. She also totaled 17 kills,
23 digs, eight service aces, three blocks, and 27.5 points.
Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, continued to handle the majority of the Belles ball distribution this week.
The sophomore turned in 92 total assists and averaged 8.36 assists per set. Over the three matches she fired in a total
of four service aces as she continues to lead ASU in the category with 29 on the year. Finally, the San Antonio native also
assisted the Belles defense with 20 total digs. Her 33 assist and 14 dig performance against the Lady Buffs marked her
sixth double-double of the season.
Gabriela Rosa, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the Lions with 44 assists last week. She had 23 assists in the
Lions' sweep of Texas Woman's. She then had 21 assists in the Lions' 3-1 win over A&M-Kingsville. She averaged 6.29
assists per set in the Lions' two-setter rotation. She helped the team achieve a .239 hitting percentage while Lion
opponents hit just .090 for the week. She also had an ace. Rosa has had 16 matches with at least 20 assists this season.
She is 10th in the LSC in assists per set.
Cristal Carrizoza, Western New Mexico, tallied 42 assists, averaging 6.0 per set along with two kills, two service aces,
13 digs and a block. She dished out 24 assists in the four-set win over Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double
with eight digs.
LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s)
Angelo State
The No. 23 Angelo State volleyball team went 1-2 this week, leaving the Belles with a 16-8, 8-7 LSC record on the season.
This has left the team sitting fifth in the conference as it heads in to the second to last week of the regular season. ASU
will kick off the week with a Halloween matchup against Texas A&M-Kingsville, then hit the road to take on Cameron
and Midwestern State over the weekend.
Cameron
1-2 last week.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team split its weekend matchup with Cameron and Midwestern State to move to 10-
15 overall and 7-8 in LSC action. The Greyhounds have a one-game lead over MSU for the final spot in the LSC
tournament. Andrea Aguilar produced another standout performance with 50 digs on the weekend while tying the
school record for the most digs in a three set match with 27 against the Aggies. This week, the Hounds head to UT
Permian Basin on Tuesday before hosting Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday and Saturday.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State has won four of its last five heading into a crucial three-game stretch this week claiming wins over
West Texas A&M, Newman (Kan.), UT Permian Basin and Eastern New Mexico over the past two weeks... MSU ranks
fourth in the LSC and 42nd in NCAA Division II with 2.18 team blocks per set. The Mustangs have posted at least nine
blocks in each of their last three outings and have 10-or-more put backs seven times this season... Midwestern boasts
three players in the top 12 blockers in the LSC as freshman Raven Presley is sixth (1.03 bps), senior Addison Semer is
10th (0.98 bps) and sophomore Sarah Eakin is 12th (0.98 bps)... Senior setter Kristan Aduddell ranks second in the LSC
with 10.21 assists per set (888) to pace the Mustangs offense this season. She stands fifth on MSU's all-time list with
3,066... Senior Aerielle Edwards has helped the Mustangs hold opponents to a .168 hitting percentage on the year with
an average of 4.90 digs per set to rank fourth in the league... Senior outside hitter Meghan Bettis leads the Mustangs
with 221 kills this season with 2.83 kills per set to rank ninth in the LSC. She has 852 career kills to rank 14th on MSU's
all-time list and is range of the Top 10. She is 29 away from Hillary White (13th/881/2008-11), 47 from Sheila Farrar
(12th/898/1987-88), 57 away from Geneva Hammond (11th/908/1987-90) and 80 away from Caitlin Wallace
(10th/931/2010-13)... Bettis is followed on the offensive end by senior middle blocker Addison Semer (208 kills,
2.31/set) and junior outside hitter Rockelle Gholson (202 kills, 2.59/set)... At the service line, MSU leads the league with
1.70 aces per set (153) with three Mustangs ranking in the top 15 in the conference -- senior libero Aerielle Edwards
(6th/0.33/set, 29), junior defensive specialist Kristin Silva (7th/0.32/set, 27), and senior setter Kristan Aduddell
(15th/0.26/set, 23)... The Mustangs can pull even with Texas Woman's University for the eighth and final berth in the
Lone Star Conference Championships. The Mustangs would also gain a head-to-head tiebreaker with a season sweep of
the Pioneers earlier this season in Wichita Falls...
Tarleton State
Tarleton won two of three last week and will travel to Midwestern State and Cameron this weekend.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions went 2-0 last weekend at home, defeating Texas Woman's in a sweep on Tuesday and beating A&M-Kingsville
in four sets on Saturday. The Lions held opposing hitters to just a .090 hitting percentage while hitting .239 as a team.
The Lions also out blocked opponents 24-11 during the week. The Lions continue to lead the conference in blocks per set
and are second in aces. They host Cameron on Tuesday before road matches against Eastern and Western New Mexico
over the weekend. A&M-Commerce is currently in second place in the conference standings with five matches
remaining.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
The Javelinas split the weekend by defeating Texas Woman's in four sets before falling to A&M-Commerce in four sets.
Madison Brabham led the team with 27 kills (3.38 kills per set) while Haley Hutchinson anchored the defense with 11
blocks (1.38 blocks per set). Looking ahead, the Javelinas will have a big match against No. 21 Angelo State on Halloween
before facing UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M at home this weekend.
Texas Woman’s
TWU went 1-3 on the week with a win against Arkansas-Monticello and losses to Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-
Kingsville and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

West Texas A&M
The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to five matches this past week with wins over Lubbock Christian,
then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State to improve to 18-10 overall with a 10-6 mark in LSC play to sit in third
place in the league standings. WT moved to 13-2 at home this past weekend with LSC wins over a pair of Top-25
opponents while snapping then #11 Tarleton State's 15-match win streak. The Lady Buffs wrap-up their 2017 home
schedule on Tuesday night as they host the Mustangs of Western New Mexico with first serve set for 6 p.m. on Senior
Night in Canyon.
Western New Mexico
It was a strong week for the Lady Mustangs as they tallied a pair of wins against Midwestern State and Cameron. Five
players had at least 11 kills led by 29 from Kalie Lyle. Cristal Carrizoza and Sophia Mitchell combined for 75 assists, while
on defense Ashley Mataele had 35 digs and Heather Verrill sent back 13 blocks. Lyle led the offense with 29 kills, posting
a .254 hitting percentage and averaging 4.14 kills per set. She also had five assists, a service ace, 11 digs and three
blocks. Lyle had 16 kills in the four-set win against Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double with nine digs. In
the three-set win over Cameron she hit .308 with 13 kills. Carrizoza tallied 42 assists, averaging 6.0 per set along with
two kills, two service aces, 13 digs and a block. She dished out 24 assists in the four-set win over Midwestern State and
nearly had a double-double with eight digs. Verrill sent back 13 blocks, including five solo in the seven sets this week.

LSC action heats up this week with five matches on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. LSC volleyball teams are 142-137 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-17 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 13-6 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the NCAA South Central Region. LSC schedule and results available here: http://www.lonestarconference.org/calendar.aspx?path=wvball& PLAYERS OF THE WEEK OFFENSIVE Erin Clark, West Texas A&M University, FR, Scottsdale, Arizona, Horizon Clark continued to lead the Lady Buffs offensively last weekend as the freshman helped WT extend their win streak to five matches with wins over Lubbock Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State. The Scottsdale native registered 34 kills (3.09 per set) on 106 swings with nine attack errors to hit .236 on the week to go along with two assists, 32 digs and four block assists while tallying 36.0 points (3.27 per set). Clark sparked the Lady Buffs to a four set win over Tarleton on Saturday afternoon to snap the TexAnns 15-match win streak as the freshman tallied 17 kills on 40 attempts with no attack errors to hit .425 with 15 digs for a double-double. DEFENSIVE Chandler Vogel, West Texas A&M University, FR, Hereford, Texas, Hereford Vogel continued to impress for the Lady Buffs this past weekend as the freshman libero led WT to wins over Lubbock Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State to run WT's win streak to five matches. The Hereford native registered 56 digs on the week to average 5.09 per set while also tallying three assists and four service aces. Vogel was a force in the back row for the Lady Buffs in a pair of Top-25 wins as the freshman held ASU and TSU to a combined .171 attack percentage with 36 digs in those two victories. SETTER Selena Batiste, West Texas A&M University, SO, Portland, Oregon, Central Catholic Batiste continued to guide the Lady Buff offense this past weekend as the sophomore led WT to wins over Lubbock Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State. Roberts boasted double- figure kills in all three Tarleton matches, including 18 against Angelo State. She hit .257 for the week to go along with four assists, a service ace, 26 digs, five blocks, and 52.5 total points. With a 15-kill, 10-dig performance at UT Permian Basin, Roberts records her 79th career double-double. Kalie Lyle, Western New Mexico, led the offense with 29 kills, posting a .254 hitting percentage and averaging 4.14 kills per set. She also had five assists, a service ace, 11 digs and three blocks.   • 3. Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double with nine digs. In the three-set win over Cameron she hit .308 with 13 kills. Layne Little, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the Lions in hitting, notching 24 kills last week, including a season-high 18 kills in the Lions' 3-1 win against A&M-Kingsville. Little averaged 3.43 kills per set in the Lions two wins and hit .323 in her combined effort. She had six kills and hit .375 in the Lions' sweep of Texas Woman's. Little also had five assisted blocks on the defensive end to go along with seven digs combined over the two matches. She scored 26.5 points to lead the Lions in scoring, including 19 points against the Javelinas. Addison Semer, Midwestern State University, hit an ultra-effective .490 with 3.25 kills per set to help Midwestern State to a split of road matches last weekend in New Mexico to pull within a game of the eighth spot in the Lone Star Conference standings. The senior from Bastrop struck for 15 kills and one error in 26 swings to hit .536 in a four-set win over Eastern New Mexico Saturday night in Portales. She struck for 11 kills with one error in 23 attempts to hit .435 the day before at Western New Mexico. The middle blocker also contributed three total blocks in both matches. Semer ranks seventh in the LSC in hitting percentage at .289. Krystal Faison, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, eclipsed the top spot in the school's record book in career service aces after recording four in two matches this weekend. Faison finished with 23 kills in eight sets, averaging 2.88 kills per set. She also added five blocks to total 29.5 points. The Converse, Texas native registered two double-doubles after logging 11 kills and 18 digs with three aces against Texas Woman's and then 12 kills and 12 digs and one ace against A&M-Commerce. The senior currently sits third all-time with 1,376 career kills and 1,616.5 career points. Morgan Seaton, Angelo State University, was a role player in the Belles offensive attack this week as she turned in a squad best .364 clip. The senior averaged 2.18 kills per set recording 24 total kills for the trio of matches. From the service line, the Big Spring, Texas native fired a team most five aces over the net. The middle blocker continued to maintain her spot leading the team with 11 total blocks on the week. This averaged her 1.00 blocks per set. Finally, Seaton helped the Belles defense digging 12 total balls. This included a season high six dig performance against No.11 Tarleton State. Andrea Aguilar, Eastern New Mexico University, Aguilar put together another stellar defensive weekend, racking up 50 digs against Cameron and Midwestern State. Against the Aggies, the libero snuffed out 27 attacks, tying the school record for most digs in a three-set match. On Saturday, the Clovis product turned in another 20+ dig performance with 23 against the Mustangs. Aguilar is now 137 digs away from setting the career digs record in team history. Bailey French, Texas Woman's University, twice tallied game-highs in digs for the Pioneers last week. The sophomore tallied 16 at Texas A&M-Commerce and fell one dig short of tying her career-high with 30 versus Southeastern Oklahoma State. French also added 11 assists and two digs throughout the four weekly matches. Brianna Sotello, Angelo State University, continued to be an integral piece to the Belles defense this week. The senior captain turned in a team second 33 digs for the three matches. This averaged her 3.00 digs per set. The outside hitter also added a squad second eight blocks to the mix. Offensively, the San Antonio, Texas native slammed down a team most 35 kills, which averaged her 3.18 kills per set. Tallying double-figure kills and digs against both WTAMU and UTPB, Sotello marked a pair of double-doubles for the week. She now leads ASU with 13 total on the season. From the service line, she also dropped in a pair of aces. Jaslyn Wacker, Texas A&M University-Commerce, helped the Lion defense hold opponents to a hitting percentage of just .090 last week in two matches. She had four blocks in the Lions' sweep of Texas Woman's. She then had six blocks, including two solo blocks, in the Lions' 3-1 win over A&M-Kingsville. Wacker had just one blocking error. She also had four aces and four digs. She added offense as well, scoring 24.5 points, the second most on the team. Wacker is third in the conference in hitting percentage and fifth in blocks. Heather Verrill, Western New Mexico, sent back 13 blocks, including five solo in the seven sets this week. She averaged 1.86 blocks per set and had 16 kills, a service ace and three digs. Verrill had nine blocks, with two coming solo
  • 4. in the four-set win over Midwestern State. She also added nine kills. In the three-set win over Cameron she had three solo blocks and seven kills. She helped limit the opposition to a .126 hitting clip. Raven Presley, Midwestern State University, played a central role in Midwestern State's block party over the weekend, which resulted in a Lone Star Conference split with Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico to move the Mustangs within a game of the eighth and final berth in the league postseason tournament. The true frosh from Richardson averaged 1.62 blocks per set including a pair of solo blocks and 11 assists as MSU posted its sixth and seventh double-figure team block efforts of the campaign. Presley amassed a season-high 14 kills and had eight blocks in a four-set win over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday after notching 11 kills and five blocks the previous day at Western New Mexico. She was also impressive on the attack hitting .309 with 3.12 kills per set for the weekend. Presley rose to sixth in the LSC upping her average to 1.03 blocks per set. Lexi Wick, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a big weekend in the middle with ten total blocks, averaging 1.25 blocks per set. She was a vital part of holding opponents to a .134 attack percentage with a team-best three solo blocks and just one blocking error. Wick was very consistent this past weekend with nine kills and five blocks in both matches against Texas Woman's and A&M-Commerce. Hannah McManus, Tarleton State University, dominated the net for the TexAnns as she helped Tarleton to two wins to extend their record-win streak to 15 last week. McManus boasted 11 blocks to lead the team, for an average of 1.10 blocks per set. In addition to her work at the net, McManus landed 16 kills on a .314 hitting clip. She had five blocks in Tarleton's sweep of No. 21 Angelo State last Tuesday. Kristan Aduddell, Midwestern State University, spurred the Midwestern State offense in a split of Lone Star Conference matches in New Mexico to pull the Mustangs to within a game of the eighth and final spot in the league's postseason tournament. The senior from The Colony averaged 11.50 set assists per set as MSU hit .183 as a team to go along with 2.50 digs per set. Aduddell logged her sixth double-double of the season with 43 set assists and 13 digs Friday against Western New Mexico, then led the Mustangs to victory with 49 set assists and seven digs Saturday at Eastern New Mexico. She rates second in the LSC with a set assists average of 10.21 per set. Katy Ranes, Texas Woman's University, tossed out a career-high 58 assists against Southeastern Oklahoma State, the highest single-match total from an LSC setter this season. The sophomore collected three match-highs in assists along with three double-doubles in assists and digs. Ranes also added seven kills, three aces and a block on the week. Casey Klobedans, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, totaled 82 assists and averaged an impressive 10.25 assists per set in eight sets played. She also had 25 digs in the two matches. Klobedans registered a double-double against Texas Woman's with 50 assists and 17 digs and nearly had another against A&M-Commerce with 32 assists and eight digs. The senior also logged five kills and five blocks last weekend. Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, continued her dominant run as the senior setter from Mililani, Hawaii dished out 101 assists in three matches last week, including two wins to extend Tarleton's record-win streak to 15. Keamo topped 30 assists in all three matches with a week-high 37 at West Texas A&M Saturday. She also totaled 17 kills, 23 digs, eight service aces, three blocks, and 27.5 points. Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, continued to handle the majority of the Belles ball distribution this week. The sophomore turned in 92 total assists and averaged 8.36 assists per set. Over the three matches she fired in a total of four service aces as she continues to lead ASU in the category with 29 on the year. Finally, the San Antonio native also assisted the Belles defense with 20 total digs. Her 33 assist and 14 dig performance against the Lady Buffs marked her sixth double-double of the season. Gabriela Rosa, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the Lions with 44 assists last week. She had 23 assists in the Lions' sweep of Texas Woman's. She then had 21 assists in the Lions' 3-1 win over A&M-Kingsville. She averaged 6.29 assists per set in the Lions' two-setter rotation. She helped the team achieve a .239 hitting percentage while Lion opponents hit just .090 for the week. She also had an ace. Rosa has had 16 matches with at least 20 assists this season. She is 10th in the LSC in assists per set.
  • 5. Cristal Carrizoza, Western New Mexico, tallied 42 assists, averaging 6.0 per set along with two kills, two service aces, 13 digs and a block. She dished out 24 assists in the four-set win over Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double with eight digs. LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State The No. 23 Angelo State volleyball team went 1-2 this week, leaving the Belles with a 16-8, 8-7 LSC record on the season. This has left the team sitting fifth in the conference as it heads in to the second to last week of the regular season. ASU will kick off the week with a Halloween matchup against Texas A&M-Kingsville, then hit the road to take on Cameron and Midwestern State over the weekend. Cameron 1-2 last week. Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team split its weekend matchup with Cameron and Midwestern State to move to 10- 15 overall and 7-8 in LSC action. The Greyhounds have a one-game lead over MSU for the final spot in the LSC tournament. Andrea Aguilar produced another standout performance with 50 digs on the weekend while tying the school record for the most digs in a three set match with 27 against the Aggies. This week, the Hounds head to UT Permian Basin on Tuesday before hosting Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday and Saturday. Midwestern State Midwestern State has won four of its last five heading into a crucial three-game stretch this week claiming wins over West Texas A&M, Newman (Kan.), UT Permian Basin and Eastern New Mexico over the past two weeks... MSU ranks fourth in the LSC and 42nd in NCAA Division II with 2.18 team blocks per set. The Mustangs have posted at least nine blocks in each of their last three outings and have 10-or-more put backs seven times this season... Midwestern boasts three players in the top 12 blockers in the LSC as freshman Raven Presley is sixth (1.03 bps), senior Addison Semer is 10th (0.98 bps) and sophomore Sarah Eakin is 12th (0.98 bps)... Senior setter Kristan Aduddell ranks second in the LSC with 10.21 assists per set (888) to pace the Mustangs offense this season. She stands fifth on MSU's all-time list with 3,066... Senior Aerielle Edwards has helped the Mustangs hold opponents to a .168 hitting percentage on the year with an average of 4.90 digs per set to rank fourth in the league... Senior outside hitter Meghan Bettis leads the Mustangs with 221 kills this season with 2.83 kills per set to rank ninth in the LSC. She has 852 career kills to rank 14th on MSU's all-time list and is range of the Top 10. She is 29 away from Hillary White (13th/881/2008-11), 47 from Sheila Farrar (12th/898/1987-88), 57 away from Geneva Hammond (11th/908/1987-90) and 80 away from Caitlin Wallace (10th/931/2010-13)... Bettis is followed on the offensive end by senior middle blocker Addison Semer (208 kills, 2.31/set) and junior outside hitter Rockelle Gholson (202 kills, 2.59/set)... At the service line, MSU leads the league with 1.70 aces per set (153) with three Mustangs ranking in the top 15 in the conference -- senior libero Aerielle Edwards (6th/0.33/set, 29), junior defensive specialist Kristin Silva (7th/0.32/set, 27), and senior setter Kristan Aduddell (15th/0.26/set, 23)... The Mustangs can pull even with Texas Woman's University for the eighth and final berth in the Lone Star Conference Championships. The Mustangs would also gain a head-to-head tiebreaker with a season sweep of the Pioneers earlier this season in Wichita Falls... Tarleton State Tarleton won two of three last week and will travel to Midwestern State and Cameron this weekend.
  • 6. Texas A&M-Commerce The Lions went 2-0 last weekend at home, defeating Texas Woman's in a sweep on Tuesday and beating A&M-Kingsville in four sets on Saturday. The Lions held opposing hitters to just a .090 hitting percentage while hitting .239 as a team. The Lions also out blocked opponents 24-11 during the week. The Lions continue to lead the conference in blocks per set and are second in aces. They host Cameron on Tuesday before road matches against Eastern and Western New Mexico over the weekend. A&M-Commerce is currently in second place in the conference standings with five matches remaining. Texas A&M-Kingsville The Javelinas split the weekend by defeating Texas Woman's in four sets before falling to A&M-Commerce in four sets. Madison Brabham led the team with 27 kills (3.38 kills per set) while Haley Hutchinson anchored the defense with 11 blocks (1.38 blocks per set). Looking ahead, the Javelinas will have a big match against No. 21 Angelo State on Halloween before facing UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M at home this weekend. Texas Woman’s TWU went 1-3 on the week with a win against Arkansas-Monticello and losses to Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M- Kingsville and Southeastern Oklahoma State. UT Permian Basin 0-2 last week. West Texas A&M The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to five matches this past week with wins over Lubbock Christian, then #21 Angelo State and then #11 Tarleton State to improve to 18-10 overall with a 10-6 mark in LSC play to sit in third place in the league standings. WT moved to 13-2 at home this past weekend with LSC wins over a pair of Top-25 opponents while snapping then #11 Tarleton State's 15-match win streak. The Lady Buffs wrap-up their 2017 home schedule on Tuesday night as they host the Mustangs of Western New Mexico with first serve set for 6 p.m. on Senior Night in Canyon. Western New Mexico It was a strong week for the Lady Mustangs as they tallied a pair of wins against Midwestern State and Cameron. Five players had at least 11 kills led by 29 from Kalie Lyle. Cristal Carrizoza and Sophia Mitchell combined for 75 assists, while on defense Ashley Mataele had 35 digs and Heather Verrill sent back 13 blocks. Lyle led the offense with 29 kills, posting a .254 hitting percentage and averaging 4.14 kills per set. She also had five assists, a service ace, 11 digs and three blocks. Lyle had 16 kills in the four-set win against Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double with nine digs. In the three-set win over Cameron she hit .308 with 13 kills. Carrizoza tallied 42 assists, averaging 6.0 per set along with two kills, two service aces, 13 digs and a block. She dished out 24 assists in the four-set win over Midwestern State and nearly had a double-double with eight digs. Verrill sent back 13 blocks, including five solo in the seven sets this week. She averaged 1.86 blocks per set and also had 16 kills, a service ace and three digs. Verrill had nine blocks, with two coming solo in the four-set win over Midwestern State. She also added nine kills. In the three-set win over Cameron she had three solo blocks and seven kills. She helped limit the opposition to a .126 hitting clip. # LSC #
