LSC VOLLEYBALL
Angelo State claimed its ninth Lone Star Conference Championship and ļ¬rst since 2012 with three league
sweeps last week. The Rambelles improved to 17-1 in league play and extended their 14-game winning streak.
ASU is the top seed and host for the LSC Championship set for November 17-18-19. This weekās games will
determine the berths and seeding for remainder of the eight-team ļ¬eld.
LSC volleyball teams are 167-143 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-9 combined versus Rocky
Mountain Athle c Conference teams, and 26-9 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues
in the NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State University, SR, Round Rock, Texas, Round Rock Chris an Academy
Blauser helped the Belles clinch the Lone Star Conference Championship with four sweeps last week. The
senior averaged 4.58 kills per set and hit at a .369 clip. Blauser recorded three double-doubles, averaging
nearly four digs per set, as the Rambelles extended their winning streak to 14 games. She led ASU with seven
aces and blocked seven balls as well.
DEFENSIVE
Mallory Davidson, Angelo State University, SO, Aus n, Texas, McNeil HS
Davidson led the team last week with 62 digs (5.17 per set) in the Bellesā four matches, keeping her at ļ¬rst on
the team this season with 357 overall. She also aided the oļ¬ense with a team-second four service aces on the
week. Her eļ¬orts helped ASU hold opponents to a .114 hi ng percentage.
SETTER
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, JR, Mililani, HI, Mililani HS
Keamo led the TexAnns to back-to-back sweeps of Midwestern State and Cameron last weekend. Keamo passed
out 74 assists in six sets for an average of 12.33 assists per set in Tarletonās ļ¬nal home stand of the year. She
dished out 35 against Midwestern State and 39 against Cameron as her oļ¬ense landed kills at a .343 percentage
for the weekend. Keamo also had 20 digs, six aces, and a block for the week.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, con nued her dominant junior campaign by leading the TexAnns to
another 20-win season with back-to-back sweeps of Midwestern State and Cameron last weekend. The junior
outside hi er from Cedar Park landed a team high 31 kills on a .393 hi ng percentage in six sets. She recorded
a 13-kill, 14-dig double-double in Fridayās sweep of Midwestern State. For the week, Roberts also totaled 19
digs, three blocks, an assist, and 32.5 points.
Lauren Frye, Eastern New Mexico University, recorded at least 14 kills in all three matches this past week,
helping the Greyhounds to a 2-1 record. The senior outside hi er has now gone above 10 kills in 26 of the
teamās 27 matches this season and hit a blistering .400 overall on 105 swings this past week.
Sara Oxford, Texas Womanās University, led the charge to push TWU into the eighth and ļ¬nal spot for the
conference tournament with wins over Midwestern State and Western New Mexico and was also the headliner
in the match against Eastern New Mexico. During back-to-back nights versus ENMU and WNMU, the senior
threw down 19 kills and tallied 14 digs for her team-leading 13th and 14th double-doubles of the year. In the
match against ENMU, Oxford delivered 18 straight kills without an error before ending the contest with a .450
hi ng percentage to go along with her game-high ļ¬ve blocks. Over the three matches, the LSC Preseason
Defensive Player of the Year averaged 5.09 points, 4.55 kills, 3.55 digs and 0.73 blocks per set.
Krystal Faison, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a good oļ¬ensive weekend where she recorded 39 kills
and ļ¬ve service aces. The juniorās best match of the week was at West Texas A&M where she achieved her 16th
double-double of the season with 16 kills and 16 digs and added two aces. In the en re week, Faison had only
on service error and now ranks second in the LSC with 48 total aces.

Taryn Driver, Texas A&M University-Commerce,
was the Lionsā leader in hi ng in a stellar 3-0 week
that pushed A&M-Commerce into third in the league
standings. In the 3-1 win at Cameron, she hit .366
with a match-high 17 kills. She followed that up
with 13 kills and a .235 percentage in the win over
Western New Mexico. Driver led the Lions with nine
kills and a .286 percentage in the Senior Day sweep of
Eastern New Mexico.
Adrianna Knutson, Tarleton State University,
con nued to provide leadership to the TexAnn
defense from the back row as the sophomore libero
li ed Tarleton to back-to-back sweeps of Midwestern
State and Cameron. Knutson led the team with 28
digs in six sets for an average of 4.67 digs per set. She
boasted 14 digs in each of the sweeps and anchored
the Tarleton defense that held the opponents to just
a .169 hi ng clip for the weekend. She also had eight
assists and four service aces, including three in the
match against Midwestern State.
Andrea Aguilar, Eastern New Mexico University,
posted the second most digs in a match for the
Greyhounds this season in the four-set win over
Texas Womanās on Friday. The junior helped the
Greyhounds to a 2-1 record and commi ed only two
recep on errors on the week.
Lexi Wick, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a
team-high of 56 points behind 43 kills and 16 total
blocks including four solo blocks...against WTAMU,
Wick stood out with two solo and ļ¬ve total blocks.
Ashley Mireles, Texas A&M University-Commerce,
in a 3-0 week that pushed the Lions to third in the
conference, averaged over ļ¬ve digs per set for A&M-
Commerce. She had over 6.25 digs per set with 25
in the four-set win at Cameron. She followed that
up with 21 digs in a four-set win over Western New
Mexico and then ed for the team lead with 10 digs
in a Senior Day sweep over Eastern New Mexico.
Kaitlyn Kluna, Eastern New Mexico University,
recorded 58 assists for the Greyhounds this past
weekend and helped the oļ¬ense hit at a .223 clip en-
route to a 2-1 record.
Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, ASU se er
con nued to set the Belles up for success over the
weekend, ge ng 109 assists in the four matches
combined. Parker con nues to lead the conference in
assists per set with 11.70, which is also good for No.
11 in the na on. Parker also contributed a kill in each
of the Bellesā matches on the weekend.
Rylie Fuentes, Texas A&M University-Commerce,
Fuentes was key in the Lionsā three wins with 7.91
assists per set and double-doubles in all three
matches. She passed out 33 assists with 15 digs in a
4-set win at Cameron on Tuesday. She then had 28
assists and 10 digs in the 4-set win over Western New
Mexico, followed by 26 assists and 10 digs in a sweep
of Eastern New Mexico.

ASU won its 14th straight match and remained
undefeated at home with wins over Cameron and
Midwestern State... Clinched the LSC Regular Season
tle outright on Friday and will host LSC tournament...
The regular season championship was ASUās eighth in
program history and ļ¬rst since 2012...

Eastern New Mexico
The Greyhounds went 2-1 this past week, picking up
wins against UTPB and Texas Womanās while falling
to Texas A&M-Commerce. Eastern ran its winning
streak to six matches before the setback against the
Lions, the longest such streak since 2004 and the ļ¬ve-
straight sweeps were the most since 2001. ENMU
wraps up the regular season with matches at Western
New Mexico before a homestand against Angelo and
Tarleton.
Midwestern State
0-3 last week.
Tarleton State
Tarleton swept Midwestern State and Cameron in its
ļ¬nal homestand of the season. The TexAnns will head
to New Mexico this weekend for road games against
Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico Friday
and Saturday.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The A&M-Commerce Lions were ranked eighth in
the South Central Region last week and helped their
cause with a 3-0 week with wins over Cameron,
Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. The
Lions are now 18-11 overall with a ļ¬ve-match winning
streak in conference play for the ļ¬rst me since 2002.
They ļ¬nished their home slate with a 10-2 mark in
the Field House for the most home wins since 2002.
The Lions 12-6 mark has them ed for third in the LSC
standings.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
The Javelinas went 3-1 this week highlighted by a
four-set win against West Texas A&M which marked
the ļ¬rst me we have swept the Lady Buļ¬s in a season
series since 2004. Now at 23 wins, the 2016 Javelina
Volleyball team sets a new standard for most wins
in a single season. TAMUK will close out the regular
season at home with a match against Midwestern
State on Friday, followed by a bout with Cameron on
Saturday.
Texas Womanās
Last week, the Pioneers swept Midwestern State
then dropped a 3-1 contest to Eastern New Mexico
but came back to record a huge four-set win against
Western New Mexico Saturday. The victory against
WNMU pushed them into the eighth spot within the
conference standings for a chance to secure the ļ¬nal
spot in the conference tournament.

Western New Mexico
WNMU fell in a pair of four-set matches on the road
despite hi ng .217, forcing 51 a ack errors. The Lady
Mustangs also held an 18-14 edge on blocks. Outside
of top performances from Heather Verrill, Cristal
Carrizoza and Shannon Rich, Kelli McGhiey added
17 kills and Ashley Mataele collected 42 digs. Verrill
tallied 17 kills with a high of 10 coming in the ļ¬rst
match against the Lions. She hit .333 in that match
with just two errors. Verrill added three blocks and
accounted for 11.5 points. She averaged 2.12 kills and
2.38 blocks per set. Carrizoza paced the oļ¬ense with
38 assists, along with a kill and ļ¬ve digs. She came on
strong in the second match of the week with 26 assists
against the Pioneers. Carrizoza averaged 4.75 assists
per set. Rich sent back 12 blocks, with one coming
solo. She also added 11 kills, hit .250, a service ace,

blocks in both matches, with her solo block coming
against the Pioneers. In that same match she came
away with 10.5 points. For the week Rich averaged
1.38 kills, 1.50 blocks and 2.31 points per set.
