WEEK 1
Activity 1: Survey Work
Duration: 7 days
Materials: -
Equipment: Surveying tripod, Theodolite, Dumpy level, Measuring tape, Excavator
Skilled Workers: Land surveyor (1), Soil investigator (1)
Technical Information: Built environment and natural surroundings of the site is studied, analysed
and data is collected. Trial pitting is carried out to examine soil condition. Excavation boundary is
indicated.
WEEK 2
Activity 1: Mobilization and Hoarding
Duration: 2-5 days

Equipment: Machineries, Hoarders

Technical Information: The site office and construction machineries and equipment are transported
to the site.
Activity 2: Site Clearing
Duration: 14 days

Equipment: Backhoe loader, Excavator, Bulldozer operator (1), Chainsaws, Tipper truck,
Skilled Workers: Backhoe Loader Operator (1), Excavator operator(1), Bulldozer operator (1),

Technical Information: Specific trees are removed and 300mm of top soil is excavated. The soil is
kept away or stored well for reuse due to its high water retentive characteristic.
WEEK 3
Activity 1: Site Clearing

Technical Information: Measurements are taken and the boundary lines of the building are marked
clearly.
WEEK 5
Activity 1: Piling (Grid 5-6)
Duration: 10-14 days
Materials: Pre-Cast reinforced concrete piles
Equipment: Hydraulic piling hammer, Pile integrity tester

Technical Information: The first half of the piles are driven down The Pile integrity test (Load test) is
carried out to ensure the strength meet the requirement.
WEEK 6
Activity 1: Piling (Grid 1-4)

Activity 2: Stump on pile cap (Grid 5-6 )

selected dimension and welded together at selected point.

Activity 1: Roof truss assembling (continue)

Technical information: Soil preparation is done before laying the rolls of grass turf on the soil
surfaces. Previously excavated soil can be reused as the base of the courtyard. Loose stones and
building rubble will prevent the turves roots from making contact with the soil and could make the
turf die in patches. The top soil should then be thoroughly rotivated down to about the first 6 inches
to aerate it properly. It is then raked level and gently treaded down.

CONSTRUCTION PROCESS WEEK 1 Activity 1: Survey Work Duration: 7 days Materials: - Equipment: Surveying tripod, Theodolite, Dumpy level, Measuring tape, Excavator Skilled Workers: Land surveyor (1), Soil investigator (1) Technical Information: Built environment and natural surroundings of the site is studied, analysed and data is collected. Trial pitting is carried out to examine soil condition. Excavation boundary is indicated. WEEK 2 Activity 1: Mobilization and Hoarding Duration: 2-5 days Materials: -
  • 3. Equipment: Machineries, Hoarders Skilled Workers: General workers (4) Technical Information: The site office and construction machineries and equipment are transported to the site. Activity 2: Site Clearing Duration: 14 days Materials: - Equipment: Backhoe loader, Excavator, Bulldozer operator (1), Chainsaws, Tipper truck, Skilled Workers: Backhoe Loader Operator (1), Excavator operator(1), Bulldozer operator (1), General workers (4), Truck driver (1) Technical Information: Specific trees are removed and 300mm of top soil is excavated. The soil is kept away or stored well for reuse due to its high water retentive characteristic. WEEK 3 Activity 1: Site Clearing Duration: 14 days Materials: - Equipment: Backhoe loader, Excavator, Bulldozer operator (1), Chainsaws, Tipper truck, Skilled Workers: Backhoe Loader Operator (1), Excavator operator(1), Bulldozer operator (1), General workers (4), Truck driver (1) Technical Information: Specific trees are removed and 300mm of top soil is excavated. The soil is kept away or stored well for reuse due to its high water retentive characteristic.

WEEK 4 Activity 1: Earthwork Duration: 3-5 days Materials: - Equipment: Excavator, Compactor, Tipper truck Skilled Workers: Excavator operator (1), Compactor operator (1), Truck driver (1) technical information: The uneven land area is either compacted or filled with earth excavated from site or transferred in to level the ground. Activity 2: Setting Out Duration: 3 days Materials: Nails, Wooden pegs, Profile boards, Stakes, Builder’s line Equipment: Hammer, Measuring tape, Theodolite, Dumpy level Skilled Workers: Site Contractor (1), Site Engineer (1)
  • 5. Technical Information: Measurements are taken and the boundary lines of the building are marked clearly. WEEK 5 Activity 1: Piling (Grid 5-6) Duration: 10-14 days Materials: Pre-Cast reinforced concrete piles Equipment: Hydraulic piling hammer, Pile integrity tester Skilled Workers: Hydraulic Piling Hammer Operator (1), General workers (6) Technical Information: The first half of the piles are driven down The Pile integrity test (Load test) is carried out to ensure the strength meet the requirement.

WEEK 6 Activity 1: Piling (Grid 1-4) Duration: 10-14 days Materials: Pre-Cast reinforced concrete piles Equipment: Hydraulic piling hammer, Pile integrity tester Skilled Workers: Hydraulic Piling Hammer Operator (1), General workers (6) Technical Information: The second half of the piles are driven down The Pile integrity test (Load test) is carried out to ensure the strength meet the requirement. Activity 2: Pile capping (Grid 5-6) Duration: 10-14 days Materials: Concrete Grade 30, Steel Rebar reinforcement, Timber formwork Equipment: Rebar bending machine (1), Cement mixer (1), Skilled Workers: Rebar benders (2), General workers (6) Technical Information: Steel rebar are bended to form a cage and put into position with starter bar protruding outwards. Concrete is poured into the erected formwork and is left to cure.

WEEK 7 Activity 1: Pile capping (Grid 1-4) Duration: 10-14 days Materials: Concrete Grade 30, Steel Rebar reinforcement, Timber formwork Equipment: Rebar bending machine (1), Cement mixer (1), Skilled Workers: Rebar benders (2), General workers (6) Technical Information: Steel rebar are bended to form a cage and put into position with starter bar protruding outwards. Concrete is poured into the erected formwork and is left to cure. Activity 2: Stump on pile cap (Grid 5-6 ) Duration: 7–14 days Materials: Concrete Grade 30, Steel rebar reinforcement, Timber formwork Equipment: Concrete Vibrator (1), Rebar bending machine(1), Carpentry equipment, Theodolite Skilled Workers: Carpenter(2), Rebar Bender (1), General worker (4), Land surveyor (1) Technical Information: The height of the stump is adjusted to keep the floor levelled.
