Compare And Contrast The Day Of The Dead Vs Halloween
Day of the Dead, Halloween, they re all the same right? Wrong. Although these two holidays are both
in the autumn season, they differentiate in many ways. Day of the Dead is a celebration for the
homecoming of ancestors who have died. In which Halloween is a holiday where people dress up in
costumes and collect candy from complete strangers. Pretty different, trust me I know but to prove it
to you even more, I have 3 reasons why Day of the Dead or Dia Le Los Muertos and Halloween
differentiate; such as, the way they emphasize spirits, colors they use, and the food they eat.
Let s start off with the way each holiday emphasizes spirits. Halloween originated from the Celtic
festival known as Samhain. During this festival, people made bonfires ... Show more content on

Halloween night, kids, and even adults (but not most) go walk around after dark in costumes knocking
on stranger s doors for food. But not any food. Candy. In the medieval times, kids used to knock on
doors and ask for food, money, and ale. Then the food given began a tradition and inherited candy. So
people all ages eat free candy for the whole night. Day of the Dead it s a little different. They feast on
meals, meals in which their ancestors loved, to remember them and keep their presence inside of them.
They eat al pan de muerto (bread of the dead) for the celebration, and usually el mole (spicy chocolate
sauce) because it s a traditional spanish sauce in which a lot of people enjoyed. So as you now know,
Day of the Dead and Halloween differentiate even by the foods they eat.
Day of the Dead, Halloween, they re different right? Yes. They are very different from each other even
though they might have some similarities. There are many more things to compare between the two
holidays, but I just pointed out some of the obvious ones, colors/decorations, food, and the way they

In What Ways Do Family Members Or Friends Try To Persuade
COMMENTARIES ESSAY ROUGH DRAFT
Today I am writing essay over our Unit 4 Rhetorical Analyses class discussion. The topic was, How
do family members or friends try to persuade you? In what ways do your friends or family members
persuasive strategies differ from the ways advertisers try to persuade people? There are numerous
ways to try to persuade someone, but for me, my family, and friends they try to persuade me through
the use of pathos and ethos. Advertisers typically use techniques like scare tactics or promising the
buyer happiness in order to persuade you to buy their product. In this article I will compare the
differences between advertisers and family and friends persuasive strategies.
Family members or friends are usually the people that we share the most important relationships and
or the closest relationships with. In my research I found ten techniques that family members and
friends use to persuade their counterparts. The ten ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the last 50 60 years, with creativity and methodology working hand in hand to sell you hard.

audience to purchase their products. The techniques are as follows using scare tactics, promising
happiness, attacking your social standing, limiting availability, trying to become your friend, creating
positive associations, making you laugh, humanizing things and animals, using reverse psychology,
and lastly using sex and proactive imagery. (Suggett, Paul) My person experiences with advertisers

Folk Religions And Protestantism
From polytheism to idol worship, there are countless differences between folk religions and
Protestantism. Some folk religions abandon organized services and belief in a god altogether. Some
lean towards magic and occultism; it is near impossible to draw parallels to Christianity. However,
through understanding and being respectful of its adherents, Christians can effectively witness to
followers of folk religions. According to Carlos Martin, many followers of folk religions have not yet
heard of the gospel. It is the duty of Christian witnesses to spread the gospel to these people. This
paper will explore various folk religions from origins to present, and the methods Christians can use to
witness to them (19).

Women s Rights Of Equality And Equality Rights
Section 15 of the Charter guarantees equality rights which protects women, people of colour and other
visible minorities from discrimination. Critics argue that section 15 does not do enough to advance
equality rights and over the years it has created inherent limitations for women, however this is not an
accurate statement. Section 15 is a progressive part of the Charter; the equality frame has advanced
women s rights over the past thirty years, it has allowed women to play a bigger policy role and the
addition of new characteristics to the equality frame demonstrates that it is able to accommodate
change. Using the Andrews case, Nixon case and Bill 94 debate as examples this paper shows how
section 15 has been beneficial for Canadian women, they can now fight inequalities and seek justice
because section 15 has given them a voice. Section 15 is a progressive clause because it explicitly
states that every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection
and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on
race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability . The equality
frame has been a success, it has not created limitations for women or other minorities; instead it has
helped to promote a more equal society and has consistently protected the most vulnerable from
various forms of discrimination. When the equality clause was added it

1914-1945 Women s Roles
Throughout 1914 to 1945, the role of women changed immensely. During the 20th century, the role of
women evolved, from the nurtures and home makers and was expected that their objective in life was
to get married, bare kids and devote their entire life to their husbands. But during World War 2 with
the fast, growing incline of need for soldiers proved that women had to participate in jobs which were
usually only consisted of men. After WW 2 with all the soldiers returning from war, a lot of women
were fired to re employ men and women were expected to go back to the roles of a housewife. Before,
during and after WW 2, the role of women changed indefinitely and shaped today s society. Before
World War 2, A women s role was patronizing and sexist.

Mark Clayton s A Whole Lot Of Cheating
Cheating for many is simply a way of life. For others it is a sin in which they would never think to
commit. For students in todays world they are stuck in the middle. Many students see cheating as the
only way of passing a class. Where other students see as it as a last resort. No matter what side
students are on, cheating is wrong, but even though it is wrong and extremely risky millions of
students around the nation do it on a daily basis just to get by. Cheating is exactly what Mark Clayton
talks about in the article tittle, A Whole Lot of Cheatin Going On. The word that is most often
associated with cheating is plagiarism. A word that makes students like myself cringe at the thought.
The reason being if caught in this act of despair it can simply ruin your life, your academic life that is.
Throughout the article Mark Clayton makes many good points about cheating, but because of his lack
of opinions it takes a little more reading between the lines to find out his position on the touchy
subject. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clayton says Whether copying another students homework, cheating on a test, or plagiarizing an
essay, cheating is limited only by imagination and technology. With this remark I have disagree
mainly due to the fact that indeed technology and a students imagination are both prime suspects when
talking about cheating, but what also needs to be taken into accounts is simply the students mindset
and their motivation. Lets face it in todays world with the internet and endless amount of resources
there is simply no reason to cheat on a paper or an exam. An argument can be made that the growth of
resources has only made it easier to cheat for many students. For many college students the one thing
that keeps them from cheating and motivated is the thought of hoisting that diploma high in the air and
knowing in knowing in their heart and minds that they did it all on their

Technology in Fahrenheit 451 and the Real World
How technology affects society in Fahrenheit 451 and the real world Every day, everywhere people
are using technology to check email, calculate tax, and talk with each other. Technology has greatly
affected the social structure today and in Fahrenheit 451. Technology has effected how the TV
controls our lives, how we communicate with one another, and how strong the social structure is In
both the real world and Fahrenheit 451. Similarly to the real world, in Fahrenheit 451 the TV is a
habitual action that diminishes social contact. In the real world too much TV leads to the Mean World
Syndrome. (Sheldon). The Mean World Syndrome is a term for people who have watched so much TV

Technology has had many positive and negative effects in both Fahrenheit 451 and the real world.
Technology has similarly impacted how much the TV controls our lives and differently impacted
communications and social structure in Fahrenheit 451 and the real world. Albert Einstein said, It has
become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity. This famous quote is
saying that technology has become a large part of our society, but it is not necessarily a bad thing to

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Video Game Therapy
Video Game Therapy
People choose many ways to learn how to deal with life. Life can be either difficult at times or easy.
The same idea can be applied to video games. Playing online games taught me patience, how to
interact with other people around the world and how to manage my stress.
Two factors in online games that can determine my interest are drop rates and game difficulty. A drop
rate is the probability or ratio that determines how much more or how much less an item will become
available from an enemy in a game. The drop rate for some items can be miniscule. When I played
Final Fantasy IX ten years ago, I had to kill a monster called a leech for an item that had a low drop
rate. Because of the low drop rate, it took me six hours to obtain ... Show more content on

Sometimes I just want to sit down and tune out everything around me, turn down the sound effects,
and listen to the music in the game. It calms me, and I forget about my problems for a while. It is a
stress reliever, and I also get an adrenaline rush from challenging fights. When an enemy is tough and
causes widespread area damage, every minute step or evasive direction I choose to make could be
fatal. Some people quit, I choose to persevere until I win. The feeling when I accomplish something so
difficult makes the task worth it. Because I am stationed overseas, I do not get to spend time with my
family back in the states, and it causes stress. Online games are a great way to still keep in touch with
them. Recently I started playing with my brother, although our time differences make it difficult. I also
bond with my wife by playing video games. Socializing with others is enjoyable, but finding
something that I can share with my significant other helps us manage relationship stress. I try to
update her equipment in order for her to fully enjoy all that the game has to offer, and that in itself
makes me happy.
In conclusion, playing online games over the years has taught me how to persevere through tough
times. Even though I live in another country, I will not let language barriers keep me from enjoying
my time here. Life is annoying, and I am glad I found something that I can share with my significant

frequency on the speed of sound.
Apparatus (equipment used):
Signal generator: manufacturer EMCO, model number SS 1, range 20Hz 2MHz, least count 1Hz

In this experiment, the signal generator was set so that the frequency meter showed a reading of 1,803
Hz. The microphone was moved to a distance from the speaker so that the oscilloscope displayed a
straight diagonal line. This position was of the microphone was recorded as the initial position, or
beginning of a wavelength. The microphone was then moved farther in the same direction until the
oscilloscope displays the same horizontal line. This position was recorded as final position, or the end
of the wavelength. The distance between the two positions represents one wavelength for this
frequency. This was repeated for frequencies of 2,402 Hz, 3,002, Hz, 3,602 Hz, and 4,201 Hz.
Method continued:
Data analysis: After the positions were recorded for frequencies 1,803 Hz, 2,402 Hz, 3,002 Hz, 3,600
Hz, and 4,201 Hz, the wavelength was determined for each. This was done by subtracting the initial
position from the final position (position final position initial=wavelength). Using the calculated
wavelength, the speed of sound in air at each frequency was determined by multiplying the
wavelength by the frequency (speed of sound=wavelength x frequency). By adding the five speed
values and dividing by the number of speeds, the average speed of sound was calculated. Then 344
m/s was used as the accepted

Tanzania Globalization In this paper i will write about the effect that globalization has had on the
country of Tanzania. When globalization made its way to Tanzania it became worse and worse for the
citizens there. Tanzania is place with an abundance of land and the western people that came to the
country took advantage of that.
History Before the people of Tanzania were introduced to globalization, they have been living in this
country for thousands of years. The country is on the eastern side of the continent. Archeologist have
found evidence of early inhabitants by studying the paintings on the rocks made by the early ancestors
of the country. The paintings would portray the people hunting and dancing. They would find these
paintings all around, inside caves that they believe were used to make tools for hunting and under
huge rocks.(Taylor Francis group, 2010)But Soon after the people of Tanganyika were used as slaves
and as cheap labor to make products for industrial Europe.
Before gaining their independence they were under the control of Portugal but that changed for a
while, they were apart of German territory until WW1 and were given to British rule where they
eventually gained their independence in 1961. The two countries of Tanganyika and Zanzibar became

Four years ago, AS Monaco FC wanted to enter the elite of Europe. They just spent two years in the
darkness of Ligue 2 and were finally back in France s top division, Ligue 1. They were also filthy rich.
Not only did they want become a Ligue 1 regular and finish top of the table, they wanted to challenge

the example set by their league rivals, Paris Saint Germain. To do so, all Monaco needed to do was to

Manchester United bought the most expensive player in the world, Paul Pogba, not even a year ago,
and are looking doing the exact same thing this upcoming summer. The same summer that Manchester
United announced Pogba was returning to Old Trafford, Juventus bought Gonzalo Higuian for an
Italian football transfer fee. This year, Real Madrid just spent about $50 million on Brazilian
wonderkid Vinicius Junior who is 16 years old. Manchester City also just signed Monaco s Bernardo

although younger being better, clubs will spend whatever it takes for a player because they simply

there is also a demand a demand of winning now, which translates to being lazy and hoping buying, or

The Effectiveness Of Racial Profiling
Imagine you get shot because of your skin color. Your skin color that you can t change. For that reason
you get killed or discriminated. Racial profiling is a practice that some law enforcement use when it
comes to someone being suspicious because of their race, ethnicity and religion. In 2004, 32 million
people reported that they were unfairly singled out by law enforcement because of their race,
according to a new Amnesty International report (Goyette). One example of racial profiling is when

Racial profiling is already illegal in some states because it goes against the the US constitution when it
promises equal protection under the law. But that doesn t stop them from doing it. There has been
steps that have been taken by some police departments to try to eliminate racial profiling. For
example, the Berkeley police department put out a policy on reducing racial profiling and training the
cops and different procedures to limit racial profiling. Also in San Diego, they enacted a way to limit
racial profiling by putting in cameras so they can video record cops communicating with the people
who got pulled over. Another way people see as a solution is to hire more female law enforcement.
Hiring more female law enforcement will help because they are less likely to use force against
someone and they when that happens, they re departments cost less because they don t get sued. A
study done by the National Center for Women in policing states that The average male officer is two to
three times more likely than the average female officer to have a citizen name him in a complaint of

How To Build A Flat Roof
Turn to the Hammersmith Company in Burnsville, MN when you re looking for flat roofing experts.
Flat roofing is very popular on commercial buildings. However, this roofing style is also seen on some
residents. A flat roof works especially well with modern homes. The straight clean lines of the flat roof
lends itself to the lines of the modern styled home. When it comes time to install this kind of roof you
ll have to choose between different types. In the past, a sloped roof had a big advantage over a flat
one, it would last longer. The reason for this was that a sloped roof would allow snow, and rain to roll

War Photographer Poem Analysis
War Photographer by Carol Ann Duffy is about a photographer who is struggling with the
consequences and reality of war. The voice of criticism from the experience of war combined with the
use of poetic devices exposes the theme of war. The poet uses compelling and distressing illustrations
in this poem to enthrall pathos into the reader s feelings. The use of pathos stirs up emotions of
sympathy, sorrow, and despair. Thus, his photographic films are filled with pictures of the genuine
agony caused by the bloodshed of warfare. The rhyme scheme is laid out in four regular six line
stanzas, with each stanza ending with a rhyming couplet. It sets the tone to create a wonderful contrast
between the positive and negative prospects of war. As the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The war photographer is described as a priest who is ready to intone a mass. The use of euphemism of

History Of Juvenile Crimes
We believe that the world s most notorious and ruthless killers are locked away in a jail cell, away
from society and possibly never having the chance to see sunlight again. Yet, what we do not know is
that it is very possible that we could be sitting in a room with a future killer. When we hear the words
serial killer or murderer, we most often see pictures of the famous killers or the ones actors portray on
tv, but one of the biggest things we do not see are pictures of children. The biggest twist of all though
is according to the Justice Department, it estimates about 10 percent of all homicides are committed
by juveniles under the age of 18. Many juveniles are being tried as adults and possibly being locked
up because of the crimes that they do, depending on how bad the crime is and the juvenile s criminal
history. Most children do not really know what they did or why they did but that does not excuse the
fact that they took another person s life, regardless of what was actually going on during the time.
Kids who do adult crimes should be put away from society for protection against themselves and
others. If a person did something really bad and they regret it, you can instantly see it on their faces.
Something sparks in their eye that just shows remorse which is good because it shows not only them
feeling bad about what they did, but also giving teaching them a lesson to not do that bad thing ...

Compensation System Of Henderson Printing Company
Compensation system in Henderson printing company
Introduction
One of the important aspects of business management is having a proper compensation system.
Compensation ensures that the staff of the company obtains the results of their efforts. Compensation
is a cost to the enterprise and, therefore, a proper remuneration model must demonstrate its ability to
produce returns. Also, since compensation is what the employees get in exchange for their services,
the type used must be one that will motivate the employees (Belcourt McBey, 2015). Henderson
printing company is a mid level company. Therefore, it requires a very critical remuneration system
that will help it to survive. This memo explores the compensation models that Henderson printing
operates as well as suggests the necessary changes.
Compensation systems that Henderson printing run
Henderson printing is a mid level company. The company operates some compensation models for its
personnel. Through these models, the employees receive rewards for the labour they render to the
enterprise. Henderson printing pays its employees by giving them regular salaries for their services.
These are direct payments for the work they do in this company. Secondly, the employees are given
pay raises even though this depends on the employee s initiative to ask for a pay rise from the owner
(Davis, 2013). Lastly, the employees are also accorded some merit bonuses every Christmas time. The
merit bonuses are based on their contribution to

Cystax Vs Apocalypse Now
In the movie Apocalypse Now, which is a very unique and special movie. Many people still wonder
why this movie is so popular and special in 1979. Which took me awhile to understand, because the
quality of the movie like photography and sounds is not as good as it could be, also one thing that
bothered me is the fogginess, they kept adding to the background, which it didn t feel natural and
shouldn t be in the movie. However, let s not forget when this film was released which is 1979 and if
you compare any movies with Apocalypse Now, well you couldn t compare them. Like I was
watching some movie scenes that was made from the 1970 s and they were not near as good, and

Apocalypse Now Redux because they added more action and scenes that really made in impact ,like
for example one of my favorite scenes that s added is , French Plantation sequence. This scene that the
Captain and the other characters spoke about the war and about their own land that they have been
having for 70 years, which is a sad scene, but an inspirational speech, which really touched Captain
Benjamin L. Willard heard because these people were not going to give up in their land or leave there
land that they have been having for over 70 years. Also at the same time the French people did help
bury Tyrone Miller as well, so there are important things they did add in Apocalypse Now Redux.
Which even little things like Basically the Captain and the Crew just bonding, which since in this
movie the crew is in a war you want to understand the connection with the Captain and Crew.
Apocalypse Now Redux we got that extra touch which made us have a stronger bond with other
characters in the movie not just the Captain but like for example Tyrone and Jay Hicks. Which they
both goofed around and read letters which those little things is added to the movie, but gives a bigger

The USA made significant changes towards Australia s popular culture since 1950 by altering and
changing the Australian lifestyle based on the American pop culture. Music was one upon many of the
categories that was adjusted to suit the American pop culture. The Australian music culture was very
restricted to only jazz, country and Aboriginal music, it was not until the late 1950 s when the
television was first introduced. Due to the fact that many Australian s could not afford the cost of a
television they often relied on a radio to entertain and keep themselves updated on the latest popular
music that was recorded. As a result of this America had a huge impact on the Australian pop culture

The twenty five years old female star of Twilight movies likes men and women as well. Last summer,
her mother confirmed that Kristen was dating Alicia Cargile, a visual effects producer and coordinator.
Before that, from 2009 to 2013, Stewart was in love with the now twenty nine years old Robert

Should Kids Get An Award Essay
Awards are given out to many kids for the same reason. These credulous kids are being taught that
everything you do can lead you to getting a trophy. Most children are given awards for being on time,
participation, showing up to practice, exetera. Teachers, parents, and coaches are all responsible for
this; showing that kids are awarded for something that does not deserve an award. How would you
feel if your kid grew up thinking that most of the things he/she does is enough to get an award?
Kids all around the world are receiving the same awards as someone else. Teachers are giving kids
awards for showing up to class or participating in class. Children do not need to get an award for
doing little things like this in class, teachers should just tell them that they are doing good, and that
they should keep it up. In the article Participation Trophies Send a Dangerous Message by Betty
Berden, she talks about how kids should not acquire awards for doing these simple task. Showing up
to work, attending class. Completing homework and trying my best at sports practice are expected of

emphasis on the character of Morgaine, otherwise known as Morgan Le
Fay. But who exactly is Morgan and how does she vary in the different accounts of the
Arthurian legend? In order to assess how Morgan Le Fay is depicted throughout history, it is first
important to establish who she is and what part she plays in the legend. Five different texts: Geoffrey

The original full retelling of the Arthur story, Monmouth s The History of the
Kings of Britain, has few female characters. Morgan Le Fay is once such decided absence.
Not only does she play no part whatsoever in the legend, but she is never even mentioned.
Mordred, who is often her son by an incestuous relationship with Arthur, is instead the son of Anna
and her husband, Loth, the King of Lothian. Anna is as close as Monmouth gets to a Morgan like
character. She is the sister of Arthur, and daughter of Igraine and Uther.
She gives birth to Mordred, who is the means by which Arthur s death comes about, and
Gawain, one of Arthurs most loyal and trusted knights. Le Morte D Arthur by Malory shows an
entirely different perspective as to the role and person of Morgan Le Fay in the Arthurian legend. She
is one of Arthur s three sisters, the others being Morgause and Elaine. Morgause marries King Lot of
Lothian and has four sons including Gawaine while Elaine marries King Nentis. Arthur has an
incestuous relationship with Morgause and she gives birth to Mordred. Meanwhile
Morgan is continually conspiring against Arthur in an attempt to avenge his father s poor treatment of

Hope is an extremely valued quality to many people, being able to dream and hope of new situations
can keep individuals going. This quality is able to keep people extremely motivated when they are

amounts of hope in multiple different ways. This pilot is so ecstatic when they are able to get the
aeroplane up and running. Their hope and motivation pushed the pilot and those with them to create a
way for them to escape their current status. When they were able to get the aeroplane working they got
such high hopes of a chance to escape and be free from their horrible situation. Due to their

Conversions of Alcohols to Alkyl Halides
Conversions of Alcohols to Alkyl Halides: 1 Propanol and 2 Pentanol Introduction One way scientist
gets alkyl halides is by using the manipulation of an alcohol. When alcohols are treated with HBr or
HCl; they can undergo a nucleophile substation reaction to generate an alkyl halide and water2. Using
the structure of the alcohols they are able to use SN1 or SN2 mechanisms. For both these mechanisms
though, the OH group must be pronated shown in Figure 1. R OH + H Br + R OH2 +Br Figure 1. This
figure is the protonation of the OH group from the alcohol SN1 is a limiting mechanism that is a
unimolecular nucleophic substation reaction. In this mechanism it involves two steps, one in which the
leaving group leaves and then forms a carbocation intermediate, shown in figure 2. Then it is able to
break bonds between carbon and making it able for carbon to leave the group before the bond forming
with nucleophile begins1. R OH2 R+ + H2O Br Figure 2.In this figure it shows the cation
intermediate that is forming and the attack of Br resulting in the production of RBr While the

transition state and then results in the final product, as shown in Figure 3. + R OH2 RBr +H2O Br

Objectivity And Religion
The literatures on values in philosophy on observation and theory have to do with the distinction
between the observable and unobservable. Objectivity comes in degrees. Claims, methods and results
can be more or less objective, and, other things being equal. Using the term objective to describe
something often carries a special rhetorical force with it. The admiration of science among the general
public and the authority science enjoys in public life stems to a large extent from the view that science
is objective or at least more objective than other modes of inquiry. Understanding scientific objectivity
is therefore central to understanding the nature of science and the role it plays in society. How can we

Designing A Bridge Made From Commercial Pasta
Introduction The objective of the project is to design a bridge made from commercial pasta that is able
to withhold a weight of 1134 grams (2.5 pounds) over a period of five minutes. Upon evaluation, the
efficiency will be taken into consideration for the overall result. This makes choosing a design and
craftsmanship crucial to the overall performance. The given constraints really makes it challenging
however they have to be followed and considered before beginning the preliminary stages of
designing. Our goal as a team from the start was to build a bridge that not only held the weight for the
required time, but also be the lightest structure in the class. Our final design took a lot of work to
reach. After four prototypes and combining aspects from all of them, we finally came up with a design
that we felt would help us achieve our goal. Our final design most closely resembles a Camelback
Pratt Truss. We came across this design in a picture of the Woolsey Bridge located in the outskirts of
Woolsey, Arkansas. After studying the real life construction of this particular bridge, we found that if
we manipulate it as close as possible with pasta, we ended up getting better results. The following
report will go through the engineering design process we used throughout this project.
Design Ideas
We researched several pasta bridge designs from several pasta bridge competitions that have been held
across the world. We also researched the different designs that actual bridges

Ancestral Lines Chapter 3
Chapter three of Ancestral Lines begins with Barker being taught how to paint a Tapa (a personally
designed cloth) by two elder women, as the process is explained Barker compares the Tapa cloth to
society composed of basic elements that fit together to produce a whole. (Barker 2017:75) Barker also
breaks down the three key facets of contemporary social organization: The socialization of children
into gendered adults, the formation of kin based groups and categories, and the formation of alliance
between groups through marriage exchanges and life crisis ceremonies. (Barker 2017:75 76) Things to
note about children in general and as socialized gendered adults: when a child is born, they are not
considered socially human and are believed to be vulnerable to attacks from spirits because their souls
are not yet attached to their bodies. Mothers are the main source of care. Girls are often put to work
first, assisting their mothers with cooking, cleaning, and caring for infants. Boys contrastingly help
their fathers with hunting, building, and protecting. While inequality is prevalent, women are not

that if you break a bone, or have a medical condition you get taken care of without having thousands
of dollars in medical expenses. I have known, personally, many people who couldn t pay their medical
expenses, including my own mother. Everyone needs health care, even if currently they have no

The End Of The Second World War Essay
After the end of the Second World War Canada was not a major power but enjoyed international
recognition and influence on international issues. Due to this position, it was classified as a middle
power whose influence could be leveraged in solving international disputes (Paris, 1997). The
approach adopted by the country was that of liberal internationalism which promotes the use of
multilateralism, diplomacy and peaceful methods in solving conflicts. Its traditional values in foreign
policy are neutrality and mediation. The country has also been instrumental in peacekeeping missions
and committed to multilateral organizations (Potter, 1996). However, since the establishment of the
Harper regime, there has been a considerable change in the country s foreign policy. These changes
include a more active participation in the war against terror, its alignment with the western ideologies
especially regarding the Middle East and its reduced involvement in multilateralism (Boucher, 2009).
A middle power in international relations is a sovereign state that is neither a superpower nor a great
power but nevertheless enjoys international recognition and has influence on international issues. The
concept of middle powers arises from the division of the world into classes according to their military
and economic capabilities. This division provides a state s relative power in international relations and
includes division into great power, major power, middle power and minor power

to the moral question that must be asked in the initial design of the healthcare system. That

The History And How Of Computers
The History and How of Computers Everything you do on a computer or phone is meticulously
programmed. Surfing the web requires HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and PHP. Lines upon lines
written such as $temp = password_hash($object password, PASSWORD_BCRYPT); . The binary
zeros and ones of machine code turn into video games, websites, and programs such as what you are

known information and share new knowledge. The unsung founders of the age of information are
programmers that created the links between peers that we now call the World Wide Web. In the past
200 years, a computer has gone from reading punch cards to running simulations on how the universe
was created. In the beginning, there was Jacquard. Joseph Marie Jacquard was an inventor in France
between the 18th and 19th centuries. His most famous work was the Jacquard loom, which read a
punch card in order to weave a chosen design into cloth. In 1822, Charles Babbage had the idea of a
device powered by steam to calculate tables of numbers, although the idea was to be funded by the
English government, it never came to be (The Engines). Decades later, in 1890, Herman Hollerith
revamped the punch card system in order to calculate the census. Hollerith s company became what
we know as IBM who later paved the way for data storage by floppy discs and hard drives ( IBM is

Forming an Opinion of Others based on Wealth Essay
Imagine a world where everyone wears the same types and colors of clothing, and listens to the same
type of music. How would that world appear to anybody that has lived in this world? Very likely, it
would appear bland and boring; with no changes or differences in nearly all aspects of life. For most
people, what is worn and listened to, affects how others are viewed through the eyes of everyone else
and is used to express opinions and personality.
Typically, 2 people will form an opinion of others within the first 3 seconds of meeting one another.

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The Day Of The Dead Vs Halloween Day of the Dead, Halloween, they re all the same right? Wrong. Although these two holidays are both in the autumn season, they differentiate in many ways. Day of the Dead is a celebration for the homecoming of ancestors who have died. In which Halloween is a holiday where people dress up in costumes and collect candy from complete strangers. Pretty different, trust me I know but to prove it to you even more, I have 3 reasons why Day of the Dead or Dia Le Los Muertos and Halloween differentiate; such as, the way they emphasize spirits, colors they use, and the food they eat. Let s start off with the way each holiday emphasizes spirits. Halloween originated from the Celtic festival known as Samhain. During this festival, people made bonfires ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Halloween night, kids, and even adults (but not most) go walk around after dark in costumes knocking on stranger s doors for food. But not any food. Candy. In the medieval times, kids used to knock on doors and ask for food, money, and ale. Then the food given began a tradition and inherited candy. So people all ages eat free candy for the whole night. Day of the Dead it s a little different. They feast on meals, meals in which their ancestors loved, to remember them and keep their presence inside of them. They eat al pan de muerto (bread of the dead) for the celebration, and usually el mole (spicy chocolate sauce) because it s a traditional spanish sauce in which a lot of people enjoyed. So as you now know, Day of the Dead and Halloween differentiate even by the foods they eat. Day of the Dead, Halloween, they re different right? Yes. They are very different from each other even though they might have some similarities. There are many more things to compare between the two holidays, but I just pointed out some of the obvious ones, colors/decorations, food, and the way they emphasize ... • 4. In What Ways Do Family Members Or Friends Try To Persuade COMMENTARIES ESSAY ROUGH DRAFT Today I am writing essay over our Unit 4 Rhetorical Analyses class discussion. The topic was, How do family members or friends try to persuade you? In what ways do your friends or family members persuasive strategies differ from the ways advertisers try to persuade people? There are numerous ways to try to persuade someone, but for me, my family, and friends they try to persuade me through the use of pathos and ethos. Advertisers typically use techniques like scare tactics or promising the buyer happiness in order to persuade you to buy their product. In this article I will compare the differences between advertisers and family and friends persuasive strategies. Family members or friends are usually the people that we share the most important relationships and or the closest relationships with. • 6. Women s Rights Of Equality And Equality Rights Section 15 of the Charter guarantees equality rights which protects women, people of colour and other visible minorities from discrimination. Critics argue that section 15 does not do enough to advance equality rights and over the years it has created inherent limitations for women, however this is not an accurate statement. Section 15 is a progressive part of the Charter; the equality frame has advanced women s rights over the past thirty years, it has allowed women to play a bigger policy role and the addition of new characteristics to the equality frame demonstrates that it is able to accommodate change. Using the Andrews case, Nixon case and Bill 94 debate as examples this paper shows how section 15 has been beneficial for Canadian women, they can now fight inequalities and seek justice because section 15 has given them a voice. Section 15 is a progressive clause because it explicitly states that every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability . The equality frame has been a success, it has not created limitations for women or other minorities; instead it has helped to promote a more equal society and has consistently protected the most vulnerable from various forms of discrimination. No matter what side students are on, cheating is wrong, but even though it is wrong and extremely risky millions of students around the nation do it on a daily basis just to get by. Cheating is exactly what Mark Clayton talks about in the article tittle, A Whole Lot of Cheatin Going On. The word that is most often associated with cheating is plagiarism. A word that makes students like myself cringe at the thought. The reason being if caught in this act of despair it can simply ruin your life, your academic life that is. Lets face it in todays world with the internet and endless amount of resources there is simply no reason to cheat on a paper or an exam. An argument can be made that the growth of resources has only made it easier to cheat for many students. The same idea can be applied to video games. Playing online games taught me patience, how to interact with other people around the world and how to manage my stress. Two factors in online games that can determine my interest are drop rates and game difficulty. A drop rate is the probability or ratio that determines how much more or how much less an item will become available from an enemy in a game. The drop rate for some items can be miniscule. The microphone was then moved farther in the same direction until the oscilloscope displays the same horizontal line. This position was recorded as final position, or the end of the wavelength. The distance between the two positions represents one wavelength for this frequency. This was repeated for frequencies of 2,402 Hz, 3,002, Hz, 3,602 Hz, and 4,201 Hz. Method continued: Data analysis: After the positions were recorded for frequencies 1,803 Hz, 2,402 Hz, 3,002 Hz, 3,600 Hz, and 4,201 Hz, the wavelength was determined for each. This was done by subtracting the initial position from the final position (position final position initial=wavelength). Using the calculated wavelength, the speed of sound in air at each frequency was determined by multiplying the wavelength by the frequency (speed of sound=wavelength x frequency). Children do not need to get an award for doing little things like this in class, teachers should just tell them that they are doing good, and that they should keep it up. In the article Participation Trophies Send a Dangerous Message by Betty Berden, she talks about how kids should not acquire awards for doing these simple task. Showing up to work, attending class. In my time I have been called many things: sister, lover, priestess, wise woman, queen. So begins Marion Zimmer Bradley s account of the Arthurian legend, which places unusual emphasis on the character of Morgaine, otherwise known as Morgan Le Fay. But who exactly is Morgan and how does she vary in the different accounts of the Arthurian legend? In order to assess how Morgan Le Fay is depicted throughout history, it is first important to establish who she is and what part she plays in the legend. The original full retelling of the Arthur story, Monmouth s The History of the Kings of Britain, has few female characters. Morgan Le Fay is once such decided absence. Not only does she play no part whatsoever in the legend, but she is never even mentioned. Mordred, who is often her son by an incestuous relationship with Arthur, is instead the son of Anna and her husband, Loth, the King of Lothian. Anna is as close as Monmouth gets to a Morgan like character. She is the sister of Arthur, and daughter of Igraine and Uther. She gives birth to Mordred, who is the means by which Arthur s death comes about, and Gawain, one of Arthurs most loyal and trusted knights. Le Morte D Arthur by Malory shows an entirely different perspective as to the role and person of Morgan Le Fay in the Arthurian legend. She is one of Arthur s three sisters, the others being Morgause and Elaine. Morgause marries King Lot of Lothian and has four sons including Gawaine while Elaine marries King Nentis. Arthur has an incestuous relationship with Morgause and she gives birth to Mordred. Meanwhile Morgan is continually conspiring against Arthur in an attempt to avenge his father s poor treatment of Igraine. Conversions of Alcohols to Alkyl Halides Conversions of Alcohols to Alkyl Halides: 1 Propanol and 2 Pentanol Introduction One way scientist gets alkyl halides is by using the manipulation of an alcohol. When alcohols are treated with HBr or HCl; they can undergo a nucleophile substation reaction to generate an alkyl halide and water2. Using the structure of the alcohols they are able to use SN1 or SN2 mechanisms. For both these mechanisms though, the OH group must be pronated shown in Figure 1. R OH + H Br + R OH2 +Br Figure 1. Designing A Bridge Made From Commercial Pasta Introduction The objective of the project is to design a bridge made from commercial pasta that is able to withhold a weight of 1134 grams (2.5 pounds) over a period of five minutes. Upon evaluation, the efficiency will be taken into consideration for the overall result. This makes choosing a design and craftsmanship crucial to the overall performance. The given constraints really makes it challenging however they have to be followed and considered before beginning the preliminary stages of designing. Our goal as a team from the start was to build a bridge that not only held the weight for the required time, but also be the lightest structure in the class. Our final design took a lot of work to reach. After four prototypes and combining aspects from all of them, we finally came up with a design that we felt would help us achieve our goal. Our final design most closely resembles a Camelback Pratt Truss. We came across this design in a picture of the Woolsey Bridge located in the outskirts of Woolsey, Arkansas. After studying the real life construction of this particular bridge, we found that if we manipulate it as close as possible with pasta, we ended up getting better results. The following report will go through the engineering design process we used throughout this project. Design Ideas We researched several pasta bridge designs from several pasta bridge competitions that have been held across the world. We also researched the different designs that actual bridges ... • 37. The End Of The Second World War Essay After the end of the Second World War Canada was not a major power but enjoyed international recognition and influence on international issues. Due to this position, it was classified as a middle power whose influence could be leveraged in solving international disputes (Paris, 1997). The approach adopted by the country was that of liberal internationalism which promotes the use of multilateralism, diplomacy and peaceful methods in solving conflicts. Its traditional values in foreign policy are neutrality and mediation. The country has also been instrumental in peacekeeping missions and committed to multilateral organizations (Potter, 1996). However, since the establishment of the Harper regime, there has been a considerable change in the country s foreign policy. These changes include a more active participation in the war against terror, its alignment with the western ideologies especially regarding the Middle East and its reduced involvement in multilateralism (Boucher, 2009). A middle power in international relations is a sovereign state that is neither a superpower nor a great power but nevertheless enjoys international recognition and has influence on international issues. The binary zeros and ones of machine code turn into video games, websites, and programs such as what you are using right now to read this. The age of information was brought forth by the ability to access all known information and share new knowledge. The unsung founders of the age of information are programmers that created the links between peers that we now call the World Wide Web. In the past 200 years, a computer has gone from reading punch cards to running simulations on how the universe was created. In the beginning, there was Jacquard. Joseph Marie Jacquard was an inventor in France between the 18th and 19th centuries. His most famous work was the Jacquard loom, which read a punch card in order to weave a chosen design into cloth. In 1822, Charles Babbage had the idea of a device powered by steam to calculate tables of numbers, although the idea was to be funded by the English government, it never came to be (The Engines). Decades later, in 1890, Herman Hollerith revamped the punch card system in order to calculate the census.
