take a life either. After all, the judicial system is not a fool proof system. The risk of putting an
innocent human being to death by capital punishment, cannot be ruled out. The only purpose it serves
is retribution or revenge. Therefore, the death penalty must be abolished. The death penalty is prone to
errors that may have led to the execution of wrongfully convicted people. There have been 330 post
conviction DNA exonerations here in the U.S (Innocence Project).
The Supreme Court should bring the United States in line with the rest of the world and hold that
death is a cruel and unusual punishment prohibited by the Eighth Amendment. The death penalty

The, National Museum Of African Art
On October 9, 2015 I went to the Smithsonian, National Museum of African Art along with attending
the Million Man March down in Washington D.C. The experiences were wonderful and I was very
excited to be at both events. While at the museum I took two tours one at 10 am that was led by a
woman named Nkechi Obi. She talked about docent African Arts. The next one was shortly after at11
am that was led by a teen ambassador named Nicholas Stewart, who was very intelligent. He talked
about numerous pieces throughout the museum that had some significance to younger minds so I
found that very helpful. After the tour I spent some time down at the mall in DC in which faced the
Capitol. This was the Million Man March that was a very popular event that brought out many people.
I would describe both events as lectures that were powerful and time put to good use. The reason I
chose to go to the African Art Museum is because I have been there before and I enjoy my time when I
go. The tours at the museum consisted of talks about certain pieces in the museum that fell in a
category the tourist wanted to focus on. Nkechi Obi was my first tour guide and the title of her tour
was Docent African Arts . Her goal throughout the tour was to show pieces of artwork that showed
what Africans may have gone through in the past in slavery. One piece that she focused on that I want
to highlight was Southern Landscape by Walter Williams Roots. In this piece there various things

The part of Dr. Christ s lecture that remained in my mind was his input on the topic of surveillance. In
fact when he mentioned that google is able to track us, I immediately opened my phone and shut down
the ability for google to track my location. My animation connects to Dr. Christ s lecture in the sphere
of surveillance while at first this doesn t seem to connect with my project I will show you why. Notice

For grains we have pasta, which was about 6 servings according to the Canada food guide. For Meats,
we have the chicken breast, which is about 6 servings. For Dairy, the pasta had cheese, which
according to the Canada food guide is 1 serving. For Vegetables we had artichokes, onions, garlic and
tomatoes, which is about 6 servings. Lastly for oils, I used olive oil which is healthier compared to
other oils. In the end this looked pretty bland, but tasted fine, plus I used whole wheat pasta, so that it
would be healthier.
Roast Vegetables My side dish was roast vegetables, which contain vegetables, olive oil and some
spices. The vegetables in this dish were Squash, Sweet potatoes, potatoes, bell peppers and an onion.
Altogether, this is about 8 servings of vegetables. This dish turned out fine and it follows the Canada
food guide by having a variety of colors, having fresh vegetables and not having much added salts or
sugars. Also it contains sweet potatoes and squash, which fit under orange vegetables, which are
recommended to eat, at least once a day.

The poem The Moose by Elizabeth Bishop opens up by capturing the landscape and physical
appearance of the Nova Scotia coast, where Bishop was taken to live with her grandparents in her
younger days. As she is traveling to Boston she takes into account various images and perspectives she
is seeing and hearing. Like some of Bishop s previous poems, The Moose focuses on the beauty and
power of nature, and how nature can be almost a burden to our everyday life. Bishop does this by
including vivid imagery, syntax, and alliteration throughout the poem.
With Bishop being familiar with the Nova Scotia coast, she really has a connection in the poem with
the landscape and what is going on around her, which the reader can appreciate throughout the first
couple of stanzas. The reader can identify this connection with the vivid use of imagery Bishop
portrays. She starts out the poem describing the scenery and a little bit of the culture that has
surrounded her for most of her years. Lines 1 4 cite, From narrow provinces /of fish and bread and tea,
/ home of the long tides/ where the bay leaves the sea. With these particular lines, Bishop creates a
soothing and comfortable image and tone. She sets the mood of the poem by the repetitive syntactical
use of language. Bishop does a great job with this by having the reader appreciate what she is seeing
and displaying a meaning of what is behind these long tides and the bay.
