Statement of Need or Problem to be Addressed The most recent survey of homeless individuals
conducted January 29, 2014 revealed 958 homeless adults with no dependants, 70 of which were
completely unsheltered, and an additional 130 homeless adults who also had dependent children
with them. 208 of these homeless adults are chronically homeless (HUD s 2014 Continuum of Care
Homeless Assistance Programs, Populations, and Subpopulations, 2014).Wayside Christian Mission
reaches approximately 7,000 homeless individuals annually (Wayside Christian Mission, 2007). In
the Journal of General Internal Medicine, a majority of homeless individuals surveyed stated that
they felt discriminated against or that they received lesser care because of their poverty or
homelessness (Wen, Hudak, amp; Hwang, 2007). Homeless and impoverished individuals suffer
from high rates of depression, psychiatric illness, alcohol and or substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, TB,
Trauma, preterm birth, COPD, low birth weight, musculoskeletal problems, decreased access to
care, foot problems, malnutrition, and high Emergency Room utilization (Stanhope amp; Lancaster,
2014). Not only do homeless persons have a high rate of illness, but they are also less able to
appropriately treat health problems. Many homeless individuals have limited access to care, cannot
afford medications or nutritious food, and may have difficulty with managing a strict

Often called unnecessary, the first eleven chapters of Jane Eyre seem quite pointless to most
readers. However it is through these chapters that BrontГ« is able to explain Jane s personality
to the fullest. The beginning of Jane s story is crucial to the plot because it is through a
traumatic childhood that Jane is able to become the strong independent woman later seen in the

Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs.
Mary Rowlandson are both nonfiction narratives that describe the struggles of women in some
form of captivity. The similarities between these two texts are in some ways incredibly obvious,
for instance they are both written in the first person from the perspective of marginalized women
struggling to merely survive. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl specifically deals with the
extreme level of sexual abuse that female slaves were subjected to and it is frequently cited as first
hand proof that women were treated even worse than men on plantations. While this may be true it

Similarly, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl offers many insights into the suffering that life can
sometimes offer. Her account does not have the same subtle optimism found in A Narrative of the
Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson , however, it similarly shows how many can
take their luxurious lifestyles for granted, by outlining the suffering or even discussing a woman
who was happy her child was dying and would be removed from a life of pain (23). Both of these
texts clearly outline how resilient human nature can be they both tell the stories of women who
are put into incredibly challenging situations and yet they both continue to survive. This survival
mechanism of humans is an intriguing recurring theme in both texts and is a similarity that links
them both together. While there are a myriad of similarities between these two texts, there are
also significant differences in context, theme, and scope. For instance, A Narrative of the
Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson is the story of only eleven weeks of
captivity. This is naturally a far less comprehensive experience than in Incidents in the Life of a
Slave Girl which tells the narrative of a girl who suffered her entire life. Naturally, reading both of

Subway Is Testing A New Rebranding Campaign
Overview
On August 18, 2015, longtime Subway pitchman Jared Fogle was arrested under a child
pornography investigation. Quick to respond, Subway communicated to press via public comment
and Twitter on their stance. Hours after the arrest, Subway made public its separation from Fogle
and its disgust and lack of knowledge of the crimes committed. Because of their quick response,
while they were directly tied to Fogle, most of the negative response was placed on Fogle and not
Subway. Moving forward, Subway is testing a new rebranding campaign in Australia that focuses
on products, rather than a pitchman.
Company History:
In 1965, a 17 year old medical school student, Fred DeLuca, opened up a submarine sandwich shop
in Connecticut on a $1,000 loan from a friend. By 1982, the chain had opened up its 300th
location. In 1984, the Subway sandwich chain was introduced overseas and by 1990, there were
more than 5,000 locations. Today, Subway has the most sandwich restaurants in the world at
37,000 locations (3). Known for their freshly baked bread and healthy options, Subway restaurants

The Similarities Between Zoroastrianism And Religion
Every religion has their own prophets, who are able to have access to a higher power, and guide
those who do not have this access. The prophet in Zoroastrianism is Zarathustra. Zarathustra
comes from the line of King Fereydun, a mythical king that Zoroastrians often use in their tales
they share with their children. Many Zoroastrians conceive him in different ways and are not
confident on all of the roles he played during his life. Some titles they believe he may have held
are fire tending priest, prophet, wonder worker, or philosopher. Zoroastrians believe that

The topic is still argued whether Zoroastrianism had any influence on these religions, but the
similarities are intriguing. Evidence is hard to find, due to there being few texts available today
in the Zoroastrian faith. Ethical dualism is one of most obvious similarities between these faiths,
which is a belief in heaven or hell. Resurrection is one of the concepts that many scholars believe
influenced Christianity. Mentioned within Zoroastrian texts are characters called daevas , and
may be similar to the Devil. The book of Ezekiel mentions an apocalyptic vision, and may be

The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer around 1386, is a
collection of tales told by pilgrims on a religious pilgrimage. Three of these
tales; The Knight s Tale , The Wife of Bath s Tale , and The Franklin s Tale ,
involve different kinds of love and different love relationships. Some of the
loves are based on nobility, some are forced and some are based on mutual
respect for each partner. My idea of love is one that combines aspects from each

painting is about a family out in a snowstorm and illustrates a lot about the character of the family
with the hardships that they went through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive.
While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships to deal with.

you are unintelligent and uneducated. However these stereotypical views are also view that I

Risk Factors for Stroke in Young Adults Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United
States (CDC para. 1), affecting more than 7 million Americans over the age of 20 and
representing 3% of the population (Rogers et al. e68). Current estimates suggest close to
800,000 Americans will experience a stroke each year; however, symptoms related to strokes
often go undiagnosed. The prevalence of undiagnosed strokes is estimated to be 17.8% of the
population over the age of 45, but some minorities and those with low incomes make up a
disproportionate percentage of this number. Ethnicity also influences the risk of a stroke for all
adults over the age of 18: 5.8% and 4.0% of Native Americans and African Americans
respectively, have had a stroke, compared to 2.4% and 2.5% for Whites and Hispanics. A recent
troubling trend has been discovered that suggests the risk of stroke is increasing for younger
Americans by a small (2.8%), but significant amount (AHA, Stroke Incidence Rising para. 2). The
obesity epidemic is thought to be one factor contributing to this increase. With cardiovascular
disease (CVD) and stroke accounting for 16% of the total health care burden in the United States
in 2008 (Rogers et al. e209), this trend suggests costs will continue to increase for decades to come.

A devoted Christian and French scholar, Frederic Ozanam, was born in Milan on April 23,
1813. He came from a modest middle class family. Although his parents gave birth to fourteen
children, he was one of the only three kids that survived and reached adulthood (St. Vincent de
Paul, 2010). The passing of Frederic Ozanam s siblings made him doubt about his Christian faith

that the movie taught. The first lesson is to Suck the marrows of life. The second lesson is to do
your own things and be independent. The third lesson is to look at life from different angles. The
purpose of this movie was to show people better ways and different perspectives on life.
