Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is on the Raise Essay
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is defined as mental health disorder triggered by a terrifying
event (Mayo Clinic). This ordeal could be the result of some sort of physical harm or threat to the
individual, family members, friends or even strangers (NIMH). While PTSD is typically associated
with someone who has served in the military, it can affect more than just that genre of individuals. It
could affect rape victims, victims in a terrorist or natural disaster incident, nurses, doctors, and police
and fire personnel and bystanders. PTSD can manifest itself in many forms. The primary signs and
symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder include but are not limited to re experiencing symptoms
(flashbacks, bad dreams, frightening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of those who do, 8% of men and 20% of women will develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (August
2013). A study was done on 810 nurses from a University hospital by having them fill out a detailed
questionnaire. Of the 810 nurses, 332 responded by completing their questionnaire. The results
showed that 22% had symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and 61% met the diagnostic criteria
of PTSD (Depressed Anxiety, 2009). This study shows a high rate of PTSD among nurses but the
percentages could be higher due to many not reporting or admitting they have symptoms. Another
study done in Australia showed that nurses in remote areas are more likely to experience violent
crimes in the workplace which can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In this study 349 nurses
working in remote areas of Australia responded. 88.5% were female in the age range of 20 68 years. In
the 12 months preceding the survey, the workplace violence incidents that were the highest are verbal
aggression (79.5%), property damage (31.6%), and physical violence (28.6%) (trends in workplace
violence in remote areas). This survey provides a statistically significant correlation between
workplace violence and PTSD symptoms. It is no surprise that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is on
the rise and is considered an occupational hazard for nurses. The National Institute of Mental Health
calculates that 7.7 million adults or 3.5 % of the adult population

The Effect of Euro Crisis on India
Effect of euro crisis on India
EURO CRISIS: The European debt crisis is the shorthand term for Europe s struggle to pay the debts
it has built up in recent decades. Five of the region s countries Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and
Spain have, to varying degrees, failed to generate enough economic growth to make their ability to
pay back bondholders the guarantee it was intended to be. Although these five were seen as being the
countries in immediate danger of a possible default, the crisis has far reaching consequences that
extend beyond their borders to the world as a whole.
As the world braces for a probable Greek exit from the Eurozone as part of the latest development in
the Eurozone sovereign debt crisis, it is prudent to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is fiscal mismanagement that has spelt trouble for Europe. It is imperative that we draw the right
lessons from this. We will tide over small crises but if we don t cut our coat according to our cloth, we
may be in for bigger trouble.
When industry lobby groups from Assocham to Ficci were seeking policies in a meeting with
commerce minister Anand Sharma on June 1 to counter a possible full blown crisis in eurozone, a lone
voice said it may even turn out to be an opportunity.
It is anybody s guess what will be the shape of global trade if banks in the continent and the eurozone
blow up, but Indian exporters may be better positioned than a few years ago to move on to other
growing markets in Africa and Asia, which the Europeans dominate now.
The Indian government has introduced focused market schemes (special incentives) to diversify
exports. So the crisis in Europe should be seen as an opportunity for India to break into the markets
where they export, says Ramu Deora, chairman, All India Shippers Council.
If the eurozone crisis is not averted, India which has about a sixth of its total exports to the European
Union, will face unemployment in the lower income category, such as textiles, one of the biggest
employers.
Textiles, including readymade garments, account for about a fifth of the total exports to Europe.
The eurozone crisis has eliminated the benefits of a weak rupee, which is down 20%

Italian American Encounter Essay
When people are stuck to one certain lifestyle and one idea, there is not change. Sometimes there
needs to be risks taken. The earth consists of a variety of different experiences, and when people are
limited to one, there will be no growth. Exploration is reaching out to discover unfamiliar and foreign
concepts and ideas which can either be disregarded or learned through encounter. True exchange with
these alien subjects is difficult since there has to be something that is given up, but there cannot be
growth or wisdom gained without something lost. That growth or wisdom can thus influence the
future generations to strive to become better. There were many encounters and exchanges in history
that were largely impactful, but none were as deadly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The upper class had high demands for serfs. Rebellions occurred because lords in the feudal system
tried to continue impose the feudalism structure, which lead to the Peasant s revolt. Through this, the
laborers were able to demand better working conditions since the upper class was desperate for people
to grow their crops. Those who were slaves gained power. Those who had their rights abused were
able to stand up. The peasants became slightly more empowered, and revolted when the aristocracy
attempted to resist the changes brought about by the plague ( 1320: Section... ). The Peasant s Revolt
foreshadowed future labor unions. They wanted to have fairness and better treatment which started the
end of feudalism. This set Western Europe along the path of diverging classes ( 1320:

Female Oppression In Movies
Oppression is an issue that some women deal with every day. In my project, I will give examples of
how black women are subjected to oppression in film. I will be analyzing two different creators a male
and a female. I will analyze their work. Looking, specifically at Alice Walker s the Color Purple and
Tyler Perry s Why Did I Get Married. Both films are different because of their plots, setting, and era s
the films were made in. However, they are also alike in various ways. One of the main commonalities
is that both films depict black female oppression. The leading female characters in these films are
subjected to oppression such as: verbal abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, and emotional abuse. I
will use this essay to analysis these films and the creative forces behind them. I will also reference
many primary and secondary sources. The information collected from these references will be used to
answer the questions: How do the creative forces such as Alice Walker and her story the Color Purple
and the creative forces of Tyler Perry and his work in Why Did I Get Married compare in their
depiction of black female oppression? How accurate of a portrayal is the oppression of black women
in film? What message are they trying to portray? How does black female oppression in film compare
to white female oppression in film? The information in the essay will help prove that creative forces,
whether black male or black female can create work that supports the black feminist

The Benefits Of Real Property In Mexico
Canadians and North Americans are buying more property in Mexico than ever before. This is partly
because the Mexican government has been making it much easier. In 1973 the Mexican government
changed their foreign investment law to allow non Mexican nationals to buy real estate anywhere in
Mexico except the Restricted Zone (which is located within 31 miles from the coastline and 62 miles
from its borders). In 1993 the law was amended to allow foreigners to buy real property in the
Restricted Zone by using a Fideicomiso which is a trust agreement established with a Mexican bank.
The bank acts on behalf of the foreign buyer holding the title to the real property, becoming the
trustee. The bank then, as trustee, has a fiduciary responsibility ... Show more content on

Some estimates say as low as 7% on a small loan amount or as high as 18% with larger loans from
private lenders. Credit scores can also have an impact like they do here in the United States. Paying all
cash upfront is simple, easy, and the norm in the past but financing is becoming more available.
Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United States. But
there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is typically used if the
buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets and isn t liquefiable at the
time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the money in an IRA and is only
permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The Reserve of Domain is easier and
cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays the seller most of the sales price for the
property. Then the buyer and the seller enter an agreement regarding the payment of the remainder of
the sales price. The deed is then put in Reserve by a Notario Publico. When the buyer pays the seller
the balance along with the interest that was agreed upon, the seller contacts the Notario Publico and
signs off that he s been paid. The Notario Publico then goes to the Public Registry of Property and lifts
the Reserve from the deed.
Large international banks working in Mexico can offer mortgage loans and some can even help you

Consumer Behavior Analysis
Protocols:
Protocol 1 Anticipatory I have been longing for one sunglass for a long time after I accidently stepped
on my old one and broke it. Since summer is on the way, nice and sunny weather has always
reminding me to think about consumption. Unfortunately, I am such a picky person that I determined
to get the perfect fit only for my special. My criteria are primary focused on the quality, brand, and the
style. Probably style can be considered as the most important one because I want everything I
possessed to reflect my personal conception. Price is an important but not most significant element for
me because I tend not to use budget to restrict my preference. Apparently, around Bellingham area, the

Conclusion
It seems like the consumption experience is not rational, at least from my experience. The ideas the
buyer hold at the beginning is not what they think during the consumption process and would change
eventually at the end. Especially buying an expensive item which requires more consideration would
cause great cognitive dissonance at the end. Some buying require active decision making but some are
not. During the retrospective process, buyer always has new wants and somewhat discomfort on the
decision made. I have some trouble defining the new goal want and beliefs into the scheme on the
retrospective stage. In this model, some buyer even thought buy the products, they could still return it

American Flag And Old Glory In Brad Kayal s Job Creators
This work by Brad Kayal titled Job Creators is a screen print, which features the notable Monopoly
Man marching over the United States flag. This piece seems to convey the gleeful Monopoly Man
almost waving America and its people onward into the next chapter of their history. However the lack
of fine lines and detail paired with a slight wave in the flag lead the audience to notice the worn state
of each element in the work. The Artist does this in such away that it clearly presents both the
Monopoly Man and old glory in light that can only be summed up that each has been around the block
and have both experienced life s hardships, but none the less have gotten to achieve their current
status. The classic nature of both the American Flag and

How Does Richard s Quest To Become King
Richard III by W. Shakespeare (1592) Now: In the Wings on a World Stage, Jeremy Whelehan, dir.
(2014) 1.Critics argue that the quote The ends justify the means best exemplifies Richard s quest to
become king. Support this idea by using examples from the play. In Richard s mind he thinks a good
outcome excuses any wrongs committed to attain it. The ends justify the means explained Richard the
third incredibly in his mind he did nothing wrong his main quest was to get on top and did do anything
to get there. Richard s arrogance also thinks that because he will become king all of his wrongdoings
will be forgotten and no one will remember him for being the king that killed his way to the throne but
instead the best thing around. There are many examples of this in the play that show Richard has
killed two take another leap forward towards the throne. No matter whether or not these killings drive
Richard to take the steps he does, the murdering innocent people cannot be justified. The most vicious
of these killings is the murder of the two princes the children of king Edward. Shakespeare gives the
peruser a sickening speech portraying the ruthless butchery , saying the princes were fleshed villains,

Theories And Theories Of Development
Theories of Development According to authors Boyd and Bee Psychologists use theories to formulate
hypothesis, or testable answers, to why questions about behavior. At the broadcast level there are three
families of theories including psychoanalytic theories, learning theories, and cognitive theories. These
theories attempt to provide developmentalists with compressive explanations for just about every fact
of human development. Additionally, theories that deal with the biological foundations of
development and interactions between these factors and development and interactions between these
factors and the environment extend developmentalists understanding of age related changes beyond
that provided by three major families of theories. Thus, the most comprehensive explanations of
development phenomena often include ideas from the psychoanalytic, learning, and cognitive
approaches as well as from biological and contextual theories (Chapter 2: Theories of Development.
Page 27 In The Growing Child) The psychoanalytic theory also known as psychoanalysis is a method
of observing and treating personality disorders which is used in psychotherapy. The psychoanalytic
theory includes the idea that there are different factors that happen to people during childhood that can
contribute to how they later function as an adult. The psychoanalytic theory is commonly used to treat
anxiety and depression disorders. It is only providing psychological relief through the open

Civil Disobedience And Obedience In Sir Isaiah Berlin
Sir Isaiah Berlin in his essay enriches ideals of liberty articulated by earlier political philosophers. His
essay starts with the central question of politics which has long been conflicting. This question is
about coercion and obedience. Obedience is reflected by the question why should I,or anyone, obey
anyone else? and coercion by must I obey and and if I disobey may I be coerced? To answer this
question he defines two branches of liberty i.e. positive and negative liberty and each of these two
addresses a particular question. In Berlin s view these questions seem to be different but their answers
can be same in some respects.
Negative sense of liberty is related to the area in which a man can act without interference of other
human beings and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
now here an important question arises that what should be the limits to the man s free action and if a
boundary is drawn between an individual s own life and public authority, where should it be?
Concepts of positive sense of liberty come from the wish of own master of an individual. as one can
see it is not freedom from but freedom to freedom. These concepts seem very close to each other but
Berlin states that in various directions, these ideas have developed and ended up with quarrels among
each other.. In Berlin s view, notions of freedom have arisen from concepts of what constitutes a
person but in my opinion, altering the definition of what it is to be a man one can change the definition
of freedom into a desired one.
Berlin puts his opinion about freedom as liberating oneself from wishes that he cannot fulfill. He
further states that if one cannot change the surrounding conditions according to one s necessities, one
should change oneself but in my opinion, this conclusion of Berlin will make the definition of
negative liberty not to work. for e.g. if one can do atleast something to fulfill his wish,he need only
reduction of his wish.

formulated the research problem; what is your experience with parenting and home schooling. I

What differentiates my social location?
Throughout the research interview, I was aware that it was essential for me to respect the participant. I
was also aware of the power imbalance embedded throught the research process between myself and
the participant, from research topic design to the interpretation of the data and the need for ethical
consideration(Caswell, 2007, Wash, 2007 and Daley, 2007). In addressing the importance of research
ethics, Caswell states we must consider ethical considerations involving our roles as insiders/outsiders
( Caswell, p.156). Therefore, it was important for me to tell the participant about her rights to
participate in the research interview, the benefits, the potential risk and the informed consent. For
example, before I interviewed the participant, we reviewed the informed consent and when I asked if
she understood it, she reported, I do , that it was straight forward and that she would definitely
participate. Failure to establish and implement ethical consideration throughout the research process
can impact the interview, the data and the intereptation of the data( Caswell, 2007).It was important
for me to be transparent and maintained a good rapport with the participant.

The Battle Of The Confederate Forces
The battle began on July 1st, 1863 when Brigadier General John Buford met the Confederate forces
just northwest of the town to slow their advances. General Buford and his troops successfully stalled
the enemy until their reinforcements arrived. The Confederate reinforcements, led by Generals Hill
and Ewell. The Confederacy forced the Union Army to retreat back through Gettysburg to the south of
the town. There they joined the main Union forces led by Major General George Gordon Meade, who
had been at the same time preparing to meet the Confederacy s main forces led by General Robert E.

explaining crime and the social problems in modern society.
A subculture is a cultural subgroup. They are considered opposite from the mainstream culture
because of their uniqueness. They form when the mainstream culture fails to meet the needs of a
particular group of people. Subculture theories primarily focus on crime and Juvenile delinquency.
Theorists believe that if this pattern of offending can be understood and controlled then it will break

Figures from the Crime survey for England and Wales have shown that 2.1 million violent incidents
were recorded in 2011/2012. It s been estimated that young people aged 10 17 were responsible for
23% of police recorded crime. In 2010 equivalent to just over a million police recorded crimes.
Considering other theorists who studied subcultures was Richard Cloward and Lloyd Ohlin. Cloward
was an American Sociologist and an activist. He influenced the strain theory of criminal behavior.
Lloyd Ohlin was an American sociologist and criminologist who taught at Harvard law school,
Columbia University and the university of Chicago. Over his career he studied the causes and effects
of crime and punishment, especially as it related to youthful offenders and delinquents. This is seen as
a functional perspective of subcultural behavior. Many working class youths who cannot gain status
legitimately, become frustrated and therefore try to gain status through illegitimate. They create their
own subculture and reject the norms and values of mainstream society. Richard Clowen in 1961 said,
The boy who joins a gang isn t in a rut. He has aspirations, but no place to go with them . Both
theorists argue that delinquency resulted from the irresponsibility of youths as a symptom of poverty
and the lack of alternative opportunities caused by poverty. The conditions underlying delinquency
could be resolved through social programs in local communities that will help address the

Rehabilitation of the Felony Offender Essays
In 2009 nearly three quarters of a million offenders were released from prisons and jails in the United
States, and it is estimated that roughly half of them will reoffend within three years of being released
and will return to prison (Katel 1005). Most of these individuals, who are non violent, low level
offenders, have little education, job experience, limited social skills and a drug or alcohol dependence
(May and Pitts 21). That coupled with the fact they have a criminal record, reduces their chances of
finding suitable housing or a decent job. Like it or not this affects all of us in one way or another. As
taxpayers, we pay the costs of the justice system, incarceration, and there is the issue of public safety.
This problem is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, all this did was to promote violence among the inmates. In the 1900s, the courts stepped in and
made major changes in the way prisons would operate. It was also becoming clear that incarceration
alone was not the answer, and support grew for prisoner rehabilitation (May and Pitts 19 20). In the
1970s and 80s there was a large increase in crime mostly due to increased drug trafficking. By 1990,
the crime rate in the U.S. had more than quadrupled. Tough on crime laws with mandatory minimum
sentences were passed, and this put more offenders in prison for longer terms. This did result in the
crime rate dropping, but by 2003, there were over two million inmates serving sentences in the U.S.
jails and prisons. In 2007, 750,000 inmates were released back into society. At the same time, about
720,000 offenders (96%) were being admitted into the prison system, and it costs about 47 billion
annually to run the prison system in the U.S. (Katel 1005 1008). Something has to be done as this
problem is going to get worse not better. Our justice system is obviously broken and needs a major
overhaul. I ask you, doesn t it make more sense to try and successfully rehabilitate felony offenders
when possible? Should we just keep building jails to hold all of these offenders or should we offer
them a true second chance in society after their time has been served? Let us take the state of
Pennsylvania for example. In the last thirty years the states inmate

Separate Muslims from State Outline
Throughout the depths of recorded history Muslims have constantly committed mass murders upon
innocent people in the name of Islam. According to long established conventional Islamic views,
Muhammad s revelations start the Qur an off in 610. Dating back to as early as 627, the Prophet
Muhammad s followers have been recorded of murdering large numbers of non believers and even
believers for that matter (Ye or, 1985). While researching wars declared in the name of Islam, the
words convert or die (more often than not they surfaced together making the claim convert or die )
surfaced exceedingly often. Despite the common belief imprinted into the minds of nearly every
United States citizen/civilian whom attended or is attending public school with the U.S., oppressing a
people based off of their religious beliefs has the ability to be beneficial to the world on a global scale.
Muslims should not be allowed to act as political advocates considering Islam gives approval of
segregation, provides obligations of the religions followers to commit senseless acts of violence, and
because of the fact that Islam allows systematic lying as a religious policy. Throughout this research
essay we will discuss facts in regards to traditional and modern Islamic ideology while deciding

Teen Pregnancy And Teenage Pregnancy
Teen pregnancy is something that affects over one million young teens in the United States. For some,
these pregnancies are planned but 85% of these teens the pregnancy is unplanned. This can cause a lot
of endless problems in the life of the teen and the newborn child. There are a lot of things that can
cause an unplanned teen pregnancy, such as teens experimenting with sexual encounters at a young
age. Another major cause is the lack of guidance due to guardians that are blind or do not want to
believe in such activities. These causes can have devastating effects on the teen and the newborn in the
household. Some effects of early pregnancy will include an unexpected rise of responsibility for the
teen and can cause many health concerns for both teen and newborn child.
Teens experimenting are the leading cause in the unplanned pregnancies. As a teenager in high school
ages there are a lot of peer pressures. Such as experimenting with alcohol and unprotected sexual
intercourse. Drinking and the use of narcotics also largely have an impact on the judgment of the teen
before the pre pregnancy comes about. Experimenting can cause many effects on the teen and the
relationships at hand, including the relationships with the baby s mom or dad and also the parents of
the teens. Another way of experimenting is the pregnancy caused in the sequel of either a long time
dating of the boyfriend or the other case of those random one night stands or hook ups. Experimenting

Summary Of The Song Lane Boy By Here Tyler
The song is generally about selling records and keeping your integrity as an artist. And as an artist
who constantly has to promote and to some extent sell yourself in the music business it s hard to keep
that integrity and originality. The lead singer, Tyler, who has also written the lyrics tries to get his
message out by just writing songs that he likes, even though people advise him not to. That can be
seen especially in line 1 2. They say stay in your lane boy, lane boy Here Tyler describes how the
music industry is trying to make him go in down a specific path and not experiment with his music.

The Groundings With My Brothers Summary
On June 16, 2015, a long time television and real estate magnate by the name of Donald J. Trump
opened his presidential campaign by uttering one of the most racially insensitive remarks in today s
time when he elucidated upon that notion that Mexican immigrants who come to America are not
model citizens but rather rapists and murderers who undermine the legitimacy and economic fortitude
of the American experiment. This racist and xenophobic remark illustrates just how entrenched the
notion of white supremacy or as Walter Rodney would call it the white cultural imperialism ideology
is inextricably tied to the understanding of our society today. Because of this problematic ideology,
there must be some sort of opposition to fight against such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In particular, Walter Rodney s third argument about the role of black intellectual in integrating one s
self with the happening s of the black masses is particularity intriguing. Here, I posit that Rodney is
making an argument about the need for solidary within politically repressed minority communities
like those of the African American community. I agree with Rodney that through the acceptance and
affirmation of the connections that we share with each of our brothers and sisters that it helps us move
in a path in which all of those who are the most marginalized within our society stand a chance to
benefit in the long run. Solidary is important to liberation and in reforming the oppressive structures
under which we live.
Moreover, I agree with the argument Rodney posits when he tasks black intellectuals to not believe
and challenge the social myth of the multi racial society. In this instance, I think that Rodney is
making a broader point about how pervasive and powerful ideology can be. Essentially, in a sort of
Marxist spin, it is my belief that Rodney is saying that people in power often times make relationships

Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut Essay
The Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut is a magnificent piece of art located in the Egyptian section
next to many other statues of the great pharaoh Hatshepsut. Out of all the statues of Hatshepsut, the
Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut was kept in the best shape and caught a lot of attention from the
people in the room. Its great size is something truly remarkable, considering it was built in the New
Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. More importantly, this statue is the first structure in art that depicts a
woman leader. Not only is it a truly unique piece of work, but also it is a piece that is revolutionary for
its time. The massive size of this statue leaves one wondering if women have always been just as
powerful as men, if not more. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hatshepsut is holding two orbs in both of her hands. This was a way of getting the message across to
her people that she was also a giver. They were probably used as offerings to the gods. The orbs seem
to kind of weigh down her arms. The legs support the arms from falling on the ground. This shows
how there is weight bearing down on her arms due to the orbs that she holds in her hands. In addition,
Hatshepsut is perfectly balanced. This balance creates calmness, reflecting the tranquil time period she
was ruler. The orbs gives off a sense of how great a pharaoh was made to look through the artwork
that they were in. In the New Kingdom time period, no one was really portrayed realistically, and that
can really be seen in this work of art. Hatshepsut was the first woman pharaoh ever recorded in
history. Although there are a few obvious breaks, this granite sculpture was put back together nicely.
Because this piece is so important, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has to be careful of what to light
up on the sculpture. This does not look easy because the statue is so massive, but the Met did a good
job capturing the face with light, and the top of the orbs. The shadows also reflect how angular this
statue really is, and the unrealistic body of the woman pharaoh Hatshepsut. For this weighty,
magnificent piece of art to be produced in such a time period makes it something to really marvel at. It

2008 Us Economic Recession
INTRODUCTIONS
The Global Financial Crisis of 2008 is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis
since the Great Depression of the 1930s. It resulted in the threat of total collapse of large financial
institutions, the bailout of small and big banks by national governments, and downturns in stock
markets around the world. In United States, the housing market also suffered, resulting in evictions,
foreclosures and prolonged unemployment. The crisis played a significant role in the failure of key
businesses, declines in consumer confidence, declines in consumer wealth estimated in trillions of US
dollars, and a downturn in economic activity leading to the 2008 2012 global recession and
contributing to the European ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By September 2008, average U.S. housing prices had declined by over 20% from their mid 2006 peak.
As prices declined, borrowers with adjustable rate mortgages could not refinance to avoid the higher
payments associated with rising interest rates and began to default. During 2007, lenders began
foreclosure proceedings on nearly 1.3 million properties, a 79% increase over 2006. This increased to
2.3 million in 2008, an 81% increase vs. 2007. By August 2008, 9.2% of all U.S. mortgages
outstanding were either delinquent or in foreclosure. By September 2009, this had risen to 14.4%

Lower interest rates encouraged borrowing. From 2000 to 2003, the Federal Reserve lowered the
federal funds rate target from 6.5% to 1.0%.[68] This was done to soften the effects of the collapse of
the dot com bubble and the September 2001 terrorist attacks. The Fed then raised the Fed funds rate
significantly between July 2004 and July 2006. This contributed to an increase in 1 year and 5 year
adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) rates, making ARM interest rate resets more expensive for
homeowners. This may have also contributed to the deflating of the housing bubble, as asset prices
generally move inversely to interest rates, and it became riskier to speculate in housing.

An Article On Managing Cultural Diversity Within Sports...
Sports are the entertainment that is spreading throughout the world. Because of this, there are many
sports leagues that are culturally diverse. People have started the address the issue of diversity in
sports. For example, Leo Kahane, Neil Longley, and Robert Simmons wrote an article titled The
Effects of Coworker Heterogeneity on Firm Level Output: Assessing the Impacts of Cultural and
Language Diversity in the National Hockey League, and this article talks about how teams and players
have to deal with teammates that are culturally from a different background. Also, Alison J. Doherty
wrote an article titled Managing Cultural Diversity in Sport Organizations: A Theoretical Perspective
while this article talks about how sports organizations have to manage the diversity of the team while
trying to be able to perform at their best. Both of these articles do a fine job in using certain elements
of argument to make their respective articles persuasive. However, the article that talks about the
National Hockey League uses logos, along with facts and evidence most successful while the other
article uses mainly ethos and logos most effectively. The three authors that wrote about diversity in the
National Hockey League (NHL) talk about the strategy of making a team come together because of
the diversity by using logic and facts to prove their point. For example the article talks about how
diversity has grown in the NHL when the authors talk about how more and more Europeans

The Right And Choice Of Abortion
Yonathan D Nieto Villegas
Mr. Fons
English 2B
May 19, 2017
The Right to Life or Choice The decision to end the life of someone without their own consent has
caused great disruption among Americans. Before the civil rights movement, Americans idealized the
idea that abortion was ultimately prohibited due to the fact that religion predominated the beliefs of
the people. Now in a rapid changing liberal society, people are questioning if prohibiting a woman
from aborting is denying her inalienable right of freedom as listed under the First Amendment. The
right to abortion should be left in the hands of a woman s personal decision rather than being obligated
to live with the results of something she never wanted.

The interpretation of this verse gives the proof that life begins even before the site of conception.
Therefore, the religions use this claim to enforce the fact that an abortion on whatever circumstance is
the killing of a human being. For instance, the Muslim faith has stated, Muslims regard abortion as
wrong and forbidden(BBC) . These views of the Muslim religion relate to the central idea that the
killing of a organism at any given time during the pregnancy is unethical and forbidden. In essence,
the idea of abortion has predominated as a wrongful sin according to religion and science. On the
other hand, there are people who suggest that the idea to be obligated to have a child is a form of
inhumanity in itself, as it robs the person of an unalienable right, the right to choose. In the tragic
testimony given by Lorna, she presents to the world her story on how live changing the ability to abort
can be. This testimony was presented by the National Abortion Federation. Lorna is a mother of three

and central vertigo are defined. Previous studies suggest that both MR and CT are good options for
detecting semicircular dehiscence syndrome related peripheral vertigo. Although the accuracy rates of
MR and CT are comparable in detecting acute intracranial hemorrhage, MR has an overall higher
diagnostic yield for stroke and multiple sclerosis related central vertigo. In clinical practice, hospitals

When there is a disagreement between state laws and federal laws a clause in the constitution called
the Supremecy Clause will take over and inside the supremacey clause there is what s called the
doctrine of pre emption. If a state passes a law that contridicts what a federal law states then the
federal law will always prevail. There are a few examples of this happening recently with the
legalization of cannibis and gay marriage. Although a state has passed a law stating that cannibis is
legal in that particular state if the federal government wanted to come and stop the citizens from
possessing cannibis then they would be within their rights since it is against federal law to posses
cannibis (Lawson, 2017). Most environmental laws are federal laws because most of the agencies that

Why I Chose The Profession Of Pharmacy Essay
Nothing is so dangerous to the progress of the human mind than to assume that our views of science
are ultimate, that there are no mysteries in nature, that our triumphs are complete and that there are no
new worlds to conquer. Humphry Davy (1778 1229), British chemist and inventor. This quote sums up
my desire to pursue a degree in pharmacy. My interest is in finding ways to improve the field of
pharmacy by thinking in a way that makes it possible to look at every unknown in medicines and find
a way to produce an answer. I chose the profession of pharmacy for many reasons, a Doctor of
Pharmacy degree is a step towards reaching my goals, and my background is a large part of me
achieving my goals.
I chose the profession of pharmacy for personal reasons. My mother is a pharmacist in an independent
pharmacy. As a child, I went to work with her and saw what she did daily. I began to like going to
work with her and watch her check prescriptions, along with many other things. Even when she was
out of the pharmacy, she would see customers in public and it was nice to see her say hello t these
people I did not even know. I could tell the pharmacy had its own small town feel, where everyone
knew each other. I liked the idea of that. Also, as I got further along in school, I had an interest in
science and math. I realized how much I liked classes like chemistry lab. Being able to watch
reactions was very interesting to me. Along with my sparked interest as a child and in school, I

Determination of Reaction Rate Law from the Reaction of Crystal Violet with Sodium Hydroxide
______________________________________________ Abstract: This experiment helps determine
the rate of reaction of crystal violet while it reacts with sodium hydroxide with respect to crystal
violet. The amount of sodium hydroxide is varied in this experiment while crystal violet is kept at a
constant. The transmittance of crystal violet is observed and recorded using a colorimeter and the data
obtained is used to plot graphs which are manipulated using LoggerPro software to produce the
desired outcome; rate of reaction of crystal violet. Upon completion of the experiment it was seen that

It must be noted that only the absolute value of the slope matters in this situation. Third order
reactions have somewhat a similar story except they require a plot of 1/concentration versus time to
determine rate of reaction. When all three graphs are plotted, the graph with the line of best fit, or the
one in which all point seem to be on a straight line is the correct one for the reaction. This is easily
drawn using the LoggerPro software. When all three graphs are drawn, the graph with the best fit line
and lowest root mean square error, or the lowest deviation from the best fit line, is the graph to be used
to determine reaction kinematics. This knowledge is acquired from the equations of the integrated rate
laws which are explained in the textbook. The solutions are mixed in small amounts in cuvettes and
inserted into the colorimeter, which reads the percentage transmittance during the time period. The
colorimeter has an enclosed space for the cuvette to be inserted making sure light from other sources
does not interfere with the reaction, hence providing accurate results. The rate of the reaction is
determined by using the equation: Rate= k [CV+] [OH ], where k is the rate constant for the reaction.

were previously prepared of concentrations 2.00 E 5 and 2.00 E 2 respectively. Deionized water was

Symbolism in The Lord Of The Flies.
William Golding was a British writer. He has written several novels, and has won
the Nobel Prize in Literature. His best known novel is The Lord of The Flies, published
in 1954. In The Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses different themes and symbols
to get the point of the novel across. These symbols include the pigs head, the
conch, and even the boys themselves. The author uses symbols to show societys rules
and faults.
The first symbol is the conch. Ralph and Piggy discover the conch in the
beginning of the novel on the beach. They use it as a horn to call any other survivors

It s a fire that Jack and his followers have started
in their hunt to kill Ralph.
Piggy is the smartest and most logical of the boys, and it simply seems natural
that his glasses are a symbol of intelligence. This symbolic implication is clear from the
start of the novel; the boys use Piggy s glasses to start a fire by focusing sunlight. When
Jack s hunters attack Ralph s camp and steal Piggy s glasses it means the loss of rational
thinking and savagery is starting to take over the boys minds.
The little uns believe that there is a beastie in the woods. It stands for primal
instinct of savagery that is within every human being. The beast frightens the boys, and
only Simon is able to realize that the reason they are afraid of the beast is because it
exists within each of them. Their belief in the beast grows stronger as they become more
and more savage. Near the end of the novel, some of the boys treat it as a god and leave it
sacrifices.
Many of the novels characters signify important themes. Ralph shows order,
leadership, control and society. Piggy represents the logical and intellectual characteristic
of life. Jack is a symbol of savagery, and the longing to rule. Simon and Roger portray
the good and evil in humans. Some might see the boys society in a political point of
view, the little uns as the common people and the older boys

Workaholics Essay
INTRODUCTION
Why did I choose to write about workaholics? The main reason is that the general picture about these
people is bad, but there are a lot of them around us and very often we admire them. They are doing
exactly what they love work and they can never have enough of it. Although they spend most of their
time working, surprisingly they are happy. They show so good results in what they do. But the
consequences are great. Family life is disrupted, intellectual horizons narrow and the consequences to
the workaholic s health are severe: fat, lack of exercise and stress. Why do people become
workaholics? When a person becomes workaholic is there a way back? How should people around
him act in order to keep both him and themselves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nobody can tell exactly how but there is a theory that workaholism starts at really early stages of life.
Marilyn Machlowitz says in her book Workaholics supports this theory and says that this whole
process starts when children play games that are connected with real time jobs or they play games
connected with getting money such as selling lemonade or old magazines. She also says that children
of workaholics are about to become ones in their later life development. The addiction to the child of a
workaholic is not passed actively. The workaholics don t tell their children to work or not to work a
lot. The reason is that children often want to be as successful as their parents. Machlowitz later on in
her book also says that some children think if they don t show the best results in school their parents
will not love them and therefore start working more than they should. But however it is not only the
childhood that makes people workaholics. Although it might be the best period to make person think
like a workaholic, the adult phase of life is the most important. The most common target of
workaholism is people that have high responsibility jobs. Their motivation is fear. Workaholics on
high positions just hate to fail and feel inferior to all other workers that are bellow them. Therefore

It s human nature to wonder why we act the way that we do and why things happen. So many scholars
over the years have come up with numerous theories in order to categorize the things that are known
and explanations of what it all means. Life is full of trials and tribulations and those who study
maladaptive behavior usually focus on the thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and skills one uses during
daily living. Feelings, thoughts, perceptions and skills all combine to aid in creating our mental states
and lead to behavioral abnormalities. Thoughts are made up of ideas, concepts and the internal

This perspective truly focuses on the mind body connection (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p.47). The
psychodynamic perspective believes that biological and mental are both equal contributors to human
life. Those who support the psychodynamic perspective believe that personality is shaped by
combining inner and outer events, with emphasis on the inner events (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p.59).
Basically, our experiences shape who we are. Sigmund Freud is the most well known theorist of this
type with the basis of his concept involving the conscious and unconscious psychic connection
(Sarason Sarason, 2005, p60). The third theory of abnormal behavior is the behavioral perspective
specifically focusing on how the environment affects how we behave. Those who formed the
behavioral perspective felt that Freud s ideas were too complicated and that this was a simpler way to
explain human behavior simply that we are a product of our environment (Sarason Sarason, 2005,
p.67). The cognitive perspective puts emphasis on how people acquire and interpret information and
use it in problem solving. This perspective also emphasizes the mental processes that people are

6.03 Calorimetry Lab Report Conclusion
Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to use the three equations of solution chemistry to determine the
molarity and percent composition by weight of a solution. Methods: First, a burette, ring stand, clamp,
and an empty flask were obtained. The burette, with the valve closed, was attached to the ring stand
with a clamp, and the empty flask was placed below the burette. Next, 50mL of the NaOH solution
were poured into the burette, and a small bit was drained into the empty flask to ensure that the tip of
the burette was also full of NaOH solution. The volume of the NaOH in the burette was recorded.
Next, approximately 0.6 grams of KHP were massed poured into an empty 125mL flask. Two drops of
an indicator solution were added to the KHP ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The density had to be determined by massing a known volume of the solution and dividing the mass
by the volume. The percent by weight of acetic acid in the solution needed to be found by dividing the
grams of solute from the grams of total solution. This required manipulation of the equations for
density and molarity to reach the desired value. With this information, it was possible to compare both
the molarities and the percent composition by weight of the vinegars to store bought

Persian War Essay
Start of War
The persian war was between the Greeks and The Persians. The war began whenever the persian
empire was growing and growing and they just wanted to take over more land and to have more
power. Or maybe even the fact that greece kind of attacked first but no less Darius decided to try and
take Greece. The persians decided to invade greece but they were ready. the athens and spartans
teamed up to defend greece from the persians and fought off the first invasion but the were many more
to come.
Marathon
It is said that darius did not lead the invasion but his best commander or general datis was in control of
the majority of the army. His nephew was also controlling a couple thousand persians to lead into war.
The persians total strength was about 90,000 men and the greeks total strength was between 10,000
and 20,000 but supposedly more around the lower half. When the 2 armies battle in 490 B.C. the
persians took more of a long ranged tactic with arrows but the greeks armour was a lot stronger so it
did little damage. The greeks on the other hand with the stronger swords, armour, and close battle
skills won a great victory with unlikely odds to begin with. This victory was so huge that they made
statues and called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is said that admiral themistocles lured the persian to the shores of salamis. It was early still kind of
dark outside when the persians entered the narrow stream. They attacked and did serious damage and
by the end of that night ⅓ of the persian naval was destroyed and they retreated and the greeks did not
pursue ending in a victory for the greek.
End of the wars
The last battle of the greek and persians was the battle of plataea. After insignificant help the persians
lost against the greek and this lead to a peace treaty between the greek and persians between 449 B.C.
and 448 B.C. and the it was. The end of the persian

Similarities Of Mythical Heroes
Mythical heroes have more similarities than differences. They are all heroes that should carry the same
characteristics and have more similarities than differences.
In all of the myths, the heroes have shown characteristics, which helped them in different ways.
Similar to Isis and Gilgamesh Determination. The young girl s preparation to escape the house and
Finn McCool s Wife (Oonagh) preparation to take the massive giant back. Gilgamesh s bravery to
fight the big giant Humbaba and Oonagh s Bravery to not be scared of the giant.
It is that Unarguable Mythical heroes have mores similarities than differences. Isis and Gilgamesh
show similar characteristics which all display determination in each of their stories.
As Isis tries to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The preparation from the young girl is shown from the start as she brings a handkerchief, as she
knows that it would be useful. She also picked things that she needed, as she knew that she would
need it. You are a kind hearted girl and I will tell you what I can help to you. Along the path, you will
come across some objects.
This demonstrates Preparation as the young girl knew that Baba Yaga would use her, so she was
prepared to go and try to escape the house.
Oonagh was very prepared even with little amount of time. After Finn McCool made the bridge he
realised he did the wrong thing and led The giant to his house. Even with little time Oonagh was
prepared to get him back to his land. You men are always boasting about your muscles, but sometimes
you should use your brain instead.
Oonagh definitely has Preparation as she was prepared to meet the Massive Giant and scare him to go
back to his land.
The young girl and Oonagh certainly have similar characteristics to make them heroes of the story.
There are many more Characteristics that make heroes, the hero of their story.
Gilgamesh and Oonagh share parallel characteristics which both have Bravery. They show bravery in
different ways but make them both heroes.
Gilgamesh showed Bravery when he was in the forest cutting wood for the village. Then Humbaba
showed and Gilgamesh and Enkidu were fighting a great giant. Gilgamesh was brave and fought untill
the last minute. I am going to slay the giant, Humbaba!

Sexual Identity And Sexuality
Sexual Identity is what a person is attracted to sexually and emotionally. People tend to categorize
others depending on their choice of sex. A recent study on the article, Lesbian Identity Performances
in the Workplace, Social Class, and Psychological Health by Elizabeth McDermott (2006), has shown
that people rather not identify their sexual identity so they can be welcomed into their workplace. But,
it should not matter about a person s sexuality because it would not make them less of a man or
woman to perform their job. Elizabeth McDermott is a Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University; whose
research is categorized with mental health inequality in relations to age, sexuality, gender, and social
class. Another study was conducted on an article with teenagers; .... It s a big deal stresses and strains
of managing sexual identity(s) on Facebook by Rubin and McClelland (2015); some feel as if their
family and friends would not accept them if they mentioned their sexuality on social media or
announce it to anyone. Jennifer Rubin work at the University of Michigan Women s Studies and her
research explore how social class shape people s sexuality and gender. While, Sara McClelland works
at the University of Michigan Psychology and her research focus on adolescent sexual development
and sexual health. Both articles describe the slander that the LGBTQ community deals with when
revealing themselves. McDermott (2006) did a study about Lesbian women identity performances in

African American Chamber Of Commerce Case Study
New Plans Set for African American Business Organization Photo Credit: African American Chamber
of Commerce
Ossie Kendrix, the new president and CEO of Wisconsin s African American Chamber of Commerce,
is already mapping out his plans for the organization. One particular thing he wants to implement is to
transfer the location of the chamber from downtown to Lindsay Heights particularly the Innovations
and Wellness Commons.
He chose this location for its entrepreneur energy and feels that it is the perfect place to position the
chamber. The building and construction is set to start next year.
On January, he wants to develop a strategic planning session where his new board members can start
on building a new future and helping other members expand their businesses. One of their ... Show

The chamber plans to set up a new program next year to provide technical assistance to help the
growth of their members.
The capacity building program will create a hands on training for the first three quarters to one year
and then the members will receive follow up assistance later on. The program will only be limited to
five members to make the training more efficient, manageable, and cost effective.
Some of the other problems African American businesses face is the lack of investment from the
community who do not patronize their products and services. Another challenge for the business
community in Milwaukee is that the people are too conservative. The city needs to evolve as the
country s next go to city while the city is developing its infrastructure.
The chamber is also thinking of ways on how to elevate and promote the black businesses in
Milwaukee and expand it to neighboring cities. This will help grow the business and clientele of
African American companies.

Teenage And Teenage Driving
Indiana Teenage Driving Teenage driving in the United States has been a large controversial topic over
the years. In the state of Indiana, anyone of fifteen and a half to sixteen may obtain a driving permit.
Indiana recommends early drivers to enroll in the driver education programs to learn the skills of
driving. Young people have created a series of issues that give good reasons to increase the driver s
license age. Underage drunk driving is a huge discussion in larger cities and the youth have more
access to liquor. According to Robert Little and Kenneth Clontz, Fatal vehicular accidents resulting
from drunk driving is the number one cause of death among fifteen to twenty four year old age group
(37). With this in mind, the state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Driving instructors, throughout the country, should start to emphasis the importance of drinking and
how hazardous it is. Educating people about the consequences to drunk driving should be discussed so
that it may change the minds of younger people throughout the country. Even with educating young
drivers about drinking and driving, there will be some teens that still drink and drive. The majority of
teenagers in car crashes are caused because of teenage drunk driving. Young drivers do not realize that
not only drinking and driving is dangerous for them, but also other driver s lives would be in danger
too. In Young, Drunk, Dangerous, and Driving: Underage Drinking and Driving Research Findings
points out that 50% have consumed alcohol while in the act of driving and almost seven of every ten
youth have driven a car after having consumed a couple of drinks (39). With this in mind Indiana,
enforcements have cracked down on drunk drivers trying to eliminate most of them off the road. In the
state of Indiana, the protocols for police officers have the authority to pull over any suspicious drunk
drivers. Positive test results in drunk driving could lead to serious disciplinary actions, especially for
young drivers. You are considered to be over the limit in Indiana if you have a BAC of at least 0.08%,
according to Indiana DUI DWI Laws Enforcement. If you re younger than 21 years old, the limit is
only 0.02%. Additionally, if your BAC is over

Uniforms Should Be Paid In High School
In Springfield, Illinois a 6th grader was bullied by her classmates because her mom bought her too
fancy of clothes. She was told that she should dress more like a kid by wearing apple bottom jeans and
Nikes. One of the difficult aspects of high school besides the hard course load is fitting in. Uniforms
are beneficial and should be required at more schools because they prevent kids from getting bullied,
they are proven to help kids grades, and they help keep kids safe.
Kids all over the world get bullied in school for many reasons, just one of the being what they wear.
With some families having more money than others some kids have a bigger budget for clothing than
others. This leads to those kids with less money sometimes getting bullied because of their clothes.
From the story in the introduction you can see that people with less clothes aren t the only people who
get bullied in fact they are just a small portion of the people. Those who have more money and wear
too nice of clothes can get bullied as well or people who don t have the same fashion sense as what is
popular at the time. Kids have a lot on their plate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most students would have been able to walk through the hallways feeling better about themselves
because they weren t getting bullied everyday for what they wore. Some kids would have better grades
because they were able to concentrate on the real reason they were in school instead of how they
looked or what people thought about their outfits. Kids would have felt safer on school grounds
because they know who their peers are and they wont have to worry about some stranger walking
around easily. School is meant to be a safe place for kids to get an education, without having to worry
about what to wear or who has more or less money than them. If there is a way that we can make
students lives easier why not put it in to

As he prepared to jump into the water to tube, David s feet slipped out from under him, and he fell
into the water, hitting the back of his head and neck on the ladder, knocking him out cold. He slipped
under the water and drowned. The other members of the party didn t notice his absence until a passing
barge pilot got their attention. He had seen the entire thing through his binoculars; he had been
watching Melissa and her friend Angela (who were in bathing suits). Despite an immediate search and
rescue attempt by the coast guard, David was not saved. Melissa alleged that the surface of the boat
floor where David was standing and preparing to jump into the water was unreasonably slippery. In
fact, at issue in the case was the manufacturing process used in coating the flooring. Melissa (and her
attorney) felt that a nonslip surface should have been placed on the floor of the boat. The safety
manual that came with the boat included these clauses: CAUTION: Wet surfaces can be slippery.
Passengers should wear adequate deck shoes while boarding and underway to avoid accidental
slipping and injury. CAUTION: Deck areas and swim platform are slippery when wet. Passengers
must be careful when passing through companionway to prevent accidental slipping or tripping.
Passengers should wear adequate deck shoes at all times to prevent accidental slipping. Passengers

Vote To Vote Essay
Senator John Walsh of Montana backed out of the next senate election because The New York Times
pointed out that Walsh had plagiarized majority of his final paper to receive his Masters degree from
The Army War College. The Army War College then took away Walsh s graduation status. I personally
think that politicians are so likely to plagiarize others works because they do not have the knowledge
or the ability to come up with something original or on their own. They think that taking other peoples
words are not a big deal when it is. It s like taking someone else s knowledge and claiming their
thoughts as your thoughts. I think they look at it as, It s the east way out . I feel like these are the
people who I don t want to be running ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last time I checked being a liar and cheater doesn t make you powerful or great. It also doesn t
give us advantages to this country. Sometimes I think to myself what it would be like if we had people
in this century who are very intelligent running our country that don t have degrees, like Abraham
Lincoln. He supposedly went to school for only a year and then he had to teach himself grammar and
look what he did. He was an amazing president, he abolished slavery and don t forget that his
nickname was Honest Abe . I think you don t have to have a piece of paper to prove how smart you
are. Electing these graduated politicians are bogus and they clearly seem to think that they re too smart
for their own good and no one will notice. I don t think there are ANY different consequences
regarding plagiarism. Whether you re in in college or have already graduated college. If you are
caught plagiarizing you suffer the same consequences. You don t receive your credits and you don t
graduate or in Walsh s situation you get your degree revoked. That s it. Period. The end. He deserves
it. As everyone says, Fool me once shame on me (The Army War College) But fool me twice shame

  • 2. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is on the Raise Essay Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is defined as mental health disorder triggered by a terrifying event (Mayo Clinic). This ordeal could be the result of some sort of physical harm or threat to the individual, family members, friends or even strangers (NIMH). While PTSD is typically associated with someone who has served in the military, it can affect more than just that genre of individuals. It could affect rape victims, victims in a terrorist or natural disaster incident, nurses, doctors, and police and fire personnel and bystanders. PTSD can manifest itself in many forms. The primary signs and symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder include but are not limited to re experiencing symptoms (flashbacks, bad dreams, frightening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of those who do, 8% of men and 20% of women will develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (August 2013). A study was done on 810 nurses from a University hospital by having them fill out a detailed questionnaire. Of the 810 nurses, 332 responded by completing their questionnaire. The results showed that 22% had symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and 61% met the diagnostic criteria of PTSD (Depressed Anxiety, 2009). This study shows a high rate of PTSD among nurses but the percentages could be higher due to many not reporting or admitting they have symptoms. Another study done in Australia showed that nurses in remote areas are more likely to experience violent crimes in the workplace which can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In this study 349 nurses working in remote areas of Australia responded. 88.5% were female in the age range of 20 68 years. In the 12 months preceding the survey, the workplace violence incidents that were the highest are verbal aggression (79.5%), property damage (31.6%), and physical violence (28.6%) (trends in workplace violence in remote areas). This survey provides a statistically significant correlation between workplace violence and PTSD symptoms. It is no surprise that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is on the rise and is considered an occupational hazard for nurses. The National Institute of Mental Health calculates that 7.7 million adults or 3.5 % of the adult population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Effect of Euro Crisis on India Effect of euro crisis on India EURO CRISIS: The European debt crisis is the shorthand term for Europe s struggle to pay the debts it has built up in recent decades. Five of the region s countries Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and Spain have, to varying degrees, failed to generate enough economic growth to make their ability to pay back bondholders the guarantee it was intended to be. Although these five were seen as being the countries in immediate danger of a possible default, the crisis has far reaching consequences that extend beyond their borders to the world as a whole. As the world braces for a probable Greek exit from the Eurozone as part of the latest development in the Eurozone sovereign debt crisis, it is prudent to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is fiscal mismanagement that has spelt trouble for Europe. It is imperative that we draw the right lessons from this. We will tide over small crises but if we don t cut our coat according to our cloth, we may be in for bigger trouble. When industry lobby groups from Assocham to Ficci were seeking policies in a meeting with commerce minister Anand Sharma on June 1 to counter a possible full blown crisis in eurozone, a lone voice said it may even turn out to be an opportunity. It is anybody s guess what will be the shape of global trade if banks in the continent and the eurozone blow up, but Indian exporters may be better positioned than a few years ago to move on to other growing markets in Africa and Asia, which the Europeans dominate now. The Indian government has introduced focused market schemes (special incentives) to diversify exports. So the crisis in Europe should be seen as an opportunity for India to break into the markets where they export, says Ramu Deora, chairman, All India Shippers Council. If the eurozone crisis is not averted, India which has about a sixth of its total exports to the European Union, will face unemployment in the lower income category, such as textiles, one of the biggest employers. Textiles, including readymade garments, account for about a fifth of the total exports to Europe. The eurozone crisis has eliminated the benefits of a weak rupee, which is down 20% ... The earth consists of a variety of different experiences, and when people are limited to one, there will be no growth. Exploration is reaching out to discover unfamiliar and foreign concepts and ideas which can either be disregarded or learned through encounter. True exchange with these alien subjects is difficult since there has to be something that is given up, but there cannot be growth or wisdom gained without something lost. That growth or wisdom can thus influence the future generations to strive to become better. • 5. Female Oppression In Movies Oppression is an issue that some women deal with every day. In my project, I will give examples of how black women are subjected to oppression in film. I will be analyzing two different creators a male and a female. I will analyze their work. Looking, specifically at Alice Walker s the Color Purple and Tyler Perry s Why Did I Get Married. Both films are different because of their plots, setting, and era s the films were made in. However, they are also alike in various ways. One of the main commonalities is that both films depict black female oppression. The leading female characters in these films are subjected to oppression such as: verbal abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, and emotional abuse. I will use this essay to analysis these films and the creative forces behind them. I will also reference many primary and secondary sources. The information collected from these references will be used to answer the questions: How do the creative forces such as Alice Walker and her story the Color Purple and the creative forces of Tyler Perry and his work in Why Did I Get Married compare in their depiction of black female oppression? How accurate of a portrayal is the oppression of black women in film? What message are they trying to portray? How does black female oppression in film compare to white female oppression in film? The information in the essay will help prove that creative forces, whether black male or black female can create work that supports the black feminist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Benefits Of Real Property In Mexico Canadians and North Americans are buying more property in Mexico than ever before. This is partly because the Mexican government has been making it much easier. In 1973 the Mexican government changed their foreign investment law to allow non Mexican nationals to buy real estate anywhere in Mexico except the Restricted Zone (which is located within 31 miles from the coastline and 62 miles from its borders). In 1993 the law was amended to allow foreigners to buy real property in the Restricted Zone by using a Fideicomiso which is a trust agreement established with a Mexican bank. The bank acts on behalf of the foreign buyer holding the title to the real property, becoming the trustee. The bank then, as trustee, has a fiduciary responsibility ... Credit scores can also have an impact like they do here in the United States. Paying all cash upfront is simple, easy, and the norm in the past but financing is becoming more available. Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United States. But there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is typically used if the buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets and isn t liquefiable at the time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the money in an IRA and is only permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The Reserve of Domain is easier and cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays the seller most of the sales price for the property. Then the buyer and the seller enter an agreement regarding the payment of the remainder of the sales price. The deed is then put in Reserve by a Notario Publico. When the buyer pays the seller the balance along with the interest that was agreed upon, the seller contacts the Notario Publico and signs off that he s been paid. The Notario Publico then goes to the Public Registry of Property and lifts the Reserve from the deed. Theories And Theories Of Development Theories of Development According to authors Boyd and Bee Psychologists use theories to formulate hypothesis, or testable answers, to why questions about behavior. At the broadcast level there are three families of theories including psychoanalytic theories, learning theories, and cognitive theories. Additionally, theories that deal with the biological foundations of development and interactions between these factors and development and interactions between these factors and the environment extend developmentalists understanding of age related changes beyond that provided by three major families of theories. • 11. Civil Disobedience And Obedience In Sir Isaiah Berlin Sir Isaiah Berlin in his essay enriches ideals of liberty articulated by earlier political philosophers. His essay starts with the central question of politics which has long been conflicting. This question is about coercion and obedience. Obedience is reflected by the question why should I,or anyone, obey anyone else? and coercion by must I obey and and if I disobey may I be coerced? To answer this question he defines two branches of liberty i.e. positive and negative liberty and each of these two addresses a particular question. These concepts seem very close to each other but Berlin states that in various directions, these ideas have developed and ended up with quarrels among each other.. In Berlin s view, notions of freedom have arisen from concepts of what constitutes a person but in my opinion, altering the definition of what it is to be a man one can change the definition of freedom into a desired one. Berlin puts his opinion about freedom as liberating oneself from wishes that he cannot fulfill. He further states that if one cannot change the surrounding conditions according to one s necessities, one should change oneself but in my opinion, this conclusion of Berlin will make the definition of negative liberty not to work. for e.g. if one can do atleast something to fulfill his wish,he need only reduction of his wish. ... Most of these individuals, who are non violent, low level offenders, have little education, job experience, limited social skills and a drug or alcohol dependence (May and Pitts 21). That coupled with the fact they have a criminal record, reduces their chances of finding suitable housing or a decent job. Like it or not this affects all of us in one way or another. As taxpayers, we pay the costs of the justice system, incarceration, and there is the issue of public safety. This problem is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, all this did was to promote violence among the inmates. In the 1900s, the courts stepped in and made major changes in the way prisons would operate. It was also becoming clear that incarceration alone was not the answer, and support grew for prisoner rehabilitation (May and Pitts 19 20). In the 1970s and 80s there was a large increase in crime mostly due to increased drug trafficking. By 1990, the crime rate in the U.S. had more than quadrupled. Tough on crime laws with mandatory minimum sentences were passed, and this put more offenders in prison for longer terms. This did result in the crime rate dropping, but by 2003, there were over two million inmates serving sentences in the U.S. jails and prisons. In 2007, 750,000 inmates were released back into society. At the same time, about 720,000 offenders (96%) were being admitted into the prison system, and it costs about 47 billion annually to run the prison system in the U.S. (Katel 1005 1008). Something has to be done as this problem is going to get worse not better. Our justice system is obviously broken and needs a major overhaul. I ask you, doesn t it make more sense to try and successfully rehabilitate felony offenders when possible? Should we just keep building jails to hold all of these offenders or should we offer them a true second chance in society after their time has been served? Let us take the state of Pennsylvania for example. In the last thirty years the states inmate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Separate Muslims From State Outline Separate Muslims from State Daniel M Elliott (Jr) ENG122 Nancy Segovia September 20, 2014 Separate Muslims from State Outline Throughout the depths of recorded history Muslims have constantly committed mass murders upon innocent people in the name of Islam. According to long established conventional Islamic views, Muhammad s revelations start the Qur an off in 610. Dating back to as early as 627, the Prophet Muhammad s followers have been recorded of murdering large numbers of non believers and even believers for that matter (Ye or, 1985). While researching wars declared in the name of Islam, the words convert or die (more often than not they surfaced together making the claim convert or die ) surfaced exceedingly often. Despite the common belief imprinted into the minds of nearly every United States citizen/civilian whom attended or is attending public school with the U.S., oppressing a people based off of their religious beliefs has the ability to be beneficial to the world on a global scale. Muslims should not be allowed to act as political advocates considering Islam gives approval of segregation, provides obligations of the religions followers to commit senseless acts of violence, and because of the fact that Islam allows systematic lying as a religious policy. Throughout this research essay we will discuss facts in regards to traditional and modern Islamic ideology while deciding whether someone of such beliefs has a place in a position ... For some, these pregnancies are planned but 85% of these teens the pregnancy is unplanned. This can cause a lot of endless problems in the life of the teen and the newborn child. There are a lot of things that can cause an unplanned teen pregnancy, such as teens experimenting with sexual encounters at a young age. Another major cause is the lack of guidance due to guardians that are blind or do not want to believe in such activities. These causes can have devastating effects on the teen and the newborn in the household. Some effects of early pregnancy will include an unexpected rise of responsibility for the teen and can cause many health concerns for both teen and newborn child. Teens experimenting are the leading cause in the unplanned pregnancies. As a teenager in high school ages there are a lot of peer pressures. Such as experimenting with alcohol and unprotected sexual intercourse. Drinking and the use of narcotics also largely have an impact on the judgment of the teen before the pre pregnancy comes about. I agree with Rodney that through the acceptance and affirmation of the connections that we share with each of our brothers and sisters that it helps us move in a path in which all of those who are the most marginalized within our society stand a chance to benefit in the long run. Solidary is important to liberation and in reforming the oppressive structures under which we live. In this instance, I think that Rodney is making a broader point about how pervasive and powerful ideology can be. Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut Essay The Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut is a magnificent piece of art located in the Egyptian section next to many other statues of the great pharaoh Hatshepsut. Out of all the statues of Hatshepsut, the Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut was kept in the best shape and caught a lot of attention from the people in the room. Its great size is something truly remarkable, considering it was built in the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. More importantly, this statue is the first structure in art that depicts a woman leader. Hatshepsut is holding two orbs in both of her hands. This was a way of getting the message across to her people that she was also a giver. They were probably used as offerings to the gods. The orbs seem to kind of weigh down her arms. The legs support the arms from falling on the ground. This shows how there is weight bearing down on her arms due to the orbs that she holds in her hands. In addition, Hatshepsut is perfectly balanced. This balance creates calmness, reflecting the tranquil time period she was ruler. The orbs gives off a sense of how great a pharaoh was made to look through the artwork that they were in. In the New Kingdom time period, no one was really portrayed realistically, and that can really be seen in this work of art. Hatshepsut was the first woman pharaoh ever recorded in history. Although there are a few obvious breaks, this granite sculpture was put back together nicely. Because this piece is so important, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has to be careful of what to light up on the sculpture. This does not look easy because the statue is so massive, but the Met did a good job capturing the face with light, and the top of the orbs. The shadows also reflect how angular this statue really is, and the unrealistic body of the woman pharaoh Hatshepsut. For this weighty, magnificent piece of art to be produced in such a time period makes it something to really marvel at. It gives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It must be noted that only the absolute value of the slope matters in this situation. Third order reactions have somewhat a similar story except they require a plot of 1/concentration versus time to determine rate of reaction. When all three graphs are plotted, the graph with the line of best fit, or the one in which all point seem to be on a straight line is the correct one for the reaction. This is easily drawn using the LoggerPro software. When all three graphs are drawn, the graph with the best fit line and lowest root mean square error, or the lowest deviation from the best fit line, is the graph to be used to determine reaction kinematics. This knowledge is acquired from the equations of the integrated rate laws which are explained in the textbook. The solutions are mixed in small amounts in cuvettes and inserted into the colorimeter, which reads the percentage transmittance during the time period. His best known novel is The Lord of The Flies, published in 1954. In The Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses different themes and symbols to get the point of the novel across. These symbols include the pigs head, the conch, and even the boys themselves. The author uses symbols to show societys rules and faults. The first symbol is the conch. Ralph and Piggy discover the conch in the beginning of the novel on the beach. They use it as a horn to call any other survivors there may be on the island after the plane crash separates them all. Piggy is the smartest and most logical of the boys, and it simply seems natural that his glasses are a symbol of intelligence. This symbolic implication is clear from the start of the novel; the boys use Piggy s glasses to start a fire by focusing sunlight. When Jack s hunters attack Ralph s camp and steal Piggy s glasses it means the loss of rational thinking and savagery is starting to take over the boys minds. The little uns believe that there is a beastie in the woods. It stands for primal instinct of savagery that is within every human being. • 39. Workaholics Essay INTRODUCTION Why did I choose to write about workaholics? The main reason is that the general picture about these people is bad, but there are a lot of them around us and very often we admire them. They are doing exactly what they love work and they can never have enough of it. Although they spend most of their time working, surprisingly they are happy. They show so good results in what they do. But the consequences are great. Family life is disrupted, intellectual horizons narrow and the consequences to the workaholic s health are severe: fat, lack of exercise and stress. Why do people become workaholics? When a person becomes workaholic is there a way back? How should people around him act in order to keep both him and themselves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nobody can tell exactly how but there is a theory that workaholism starts at really early stages of life. Marilyn Machlowitz says in her book Workaholics supports this theory and says that this whole process starts when children play games that are connected with real time jobs or they play games connected with getting money such as selling lemonade or old magazines. She also says that children of workaholics are about to become ones in their later life development. The addiction to the child of a workaholic is not passed actively. The workaholics don t tell their children to work or not to work a lot. The reason is that children often want to be as successful as their parents. Machlowitz later on in her book also says that some children think if they don t show the best results in school their parents will not love them and therefore start working more than they should. But however it is not only the childhood that makes people workaholics. Although it might be the best period to make person think like a workaholic, the adult phase of life is the most important. The most common target of workaholism is people that have high responsibility jobs. Their motivation is fear. Workaholics on high positions just hate to fail and feel inferior to all other workers that are bellow them. Therefore they are double checking all possibilities that are ... So many scholars over the years have come up with numerous theories in order to categorize the things that are known and explanations of what it all means. Life is full of trials and tribulations and those who study maladaptive behavior usually focus on the thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and skills one uses during daily living. Feelings, thoughts, perceptions and skills all combine to aid in creating our mental states and lead to behavioral abnormalities. The psychodynamic perspective believes that biological and mental are both equal contributors to human life. Those who support the psychodynamic perspective believe that personality is shaped by combining inner and outer events, with emphasis on the inner events (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p.59). Basically, our experiences shape who we are. Sigmund Freud is the most well known theorist of this type with the basis of his concept involving the conscious and unconscious psychic connection (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p60). The third theory of abnormal behavior is the behavioral perspective specifically focusing on how the environment affects how we behave. Those who formed the behavioral perspective felt that Freud s ideas were too complicated and that this was a simpler way to explain human behavior simply that we are a product of our environment (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p.67). This perspective also emphasizes the mental processes that people are unaware of or can be made aware of.
