Interdisciplinary Care And Collaboration Analysis
The Importance of Interdisciplinary Care and Collaboration
Have you ever wondered what makes corporations successful? Have you ever asked yourself if by
giving the best of your effort as an employee, you could be a key piece to the success of your team?
Steve Jobs was so right to say Great things in business are never done by one person. They are done
by a team of people (Whiting, 2013) and the medical field is not the exception. Interdisciplinary care
and team collaboration are based on building great teamwork, maintaining alive the principles of
collaboration, and minimizing the barriers in coordination of care. (Scott, 2014)
First, building great teamwork is one of the most important factors to achieve successful
interdisciplinary care. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most important thing to remember is that small changes and daily intakes done individually for
the common purpose of the team can make a huge difference in the impact of a corporation, a state or
even a whole country. If we, as professionals in the medical field, do not produce these small but so
necessary changes, we will lose the great opportunity to become the catalysts of the future
improvements in the healthcare system. Al we need is some type of action in the right direction, and as
long as we build great teamwork, maintain alive the principles of collaboration, and minimize the
barriers in coordination of care, we will make our work easier, people happier, and patients well care
of. The task is in our hands, are we ready to

Impact Of Technology On The Health Of People Across The Globe
Technology has been advancing ever since mankind discovered how to make fire. We have
continuously built upon each new technology developed, which has led to the dominance of our
species across the globe. We are one of the few species that have the ability to produce and use tools.
Technology has been continuously improving our standard of living but have the advancements gone
too far? Modern technology has begun to consume our lives instead of enhancing our lives, and this
has had more consequences than positives. Although the advancements in technology have had
positive aspects, tools that we are creating now are having more adverse effects than positive effects
when used improperly. Technology s largest positive impact has been its ... Show more content on

This allows patients to get the proper treatment as soon as possible before a disease spreads. Take
cancer for example, in the body it spreads every minute. The sooner it is diagnosed and treated the
higher the chances of survival for this horrible disease. There are countless other diseases that modern
technology has been able to detect and cure which is why the average lifespan has been lengthened so
drastically. Computerized technology however is not the only strides made in the medical field. The
development of new medicines to combat the different pathogens have made tremendous progress in
the past few decades. These medicines and vaccines have helped us cure millions and have made some
diseases that wiped out entire populations in the past irrelevant now. Smallpox, a terrible diseases that
has been haunting humanity for centuries, killed over 300 million people in the 20th century alone
(WHO). Due to the work of modern medicine small pox has been eradicated and the only strains of it
exist in laboratories. The negative aspect of the continuous use of these medicines is that generation
by generation autoimmunity in our bodies has decreased. The reason for this is because we don t use
our immune system as much because we rely on so much medicine even for the smallest of diseases.
These medicines like antibiotics used to be deemed the all curing tools but only the fact is that this is
only true when they are used properly. When taking antibiotics if

The Dark Magic Sparknotes
Dark Magic by Christine Feehman is about the destiny between Gregori and Savannah and the
Carpathian world. Gregori is known as the most powerful of the male Carpathians, the implacable
hunter, legendary healer, and the dark one. Savannah is the daughter of Raven and Mikhail, the ruler
of the Carpathians. Finally, Gregori s long wait for Savannah is ending. Now, Savannah needs to be
Gregori s lifemate. Both Gregori and Savannah go to New Orleans hunting down Morrison, the
vampire hunter. Alongside with a new friend, Gary, who invents the poison to kill the Carpathians. He
leads them to Morrison, leading him to his death. Mood is the atmosphere. Talks about what the
feeling is given in the story. Tone is the author s attitude, what the author is trying to deliver to us
readers. The mood is creepy because the book takes place in New Orleans where dark magic,
vampires, and witches normally take place. The tone is smitten because the author focus a lot on
Gregori and Savannah s love life and use some romantic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In chapter two You belong to me no other (37). In this chapter, Savannah fears on Gregori because she
cannot accept Gregori for who he is. With Savannah not accepting him, Gregori still commands that
she is his and no other. Another example is in chapter nine There were tears in her voice, trails on her
face. Never leave me alone like that again. It s better to be with you, even if I m in danger (173). In
this quote, Savannah finally falls for Gergori. She says that she would rather want to be with him even
if it is a near death experience. Last example is in chapter twelve I love you Gregori, she whispered
softly against his throat. I really love you. The real you. Do you understand? (248). This quote gives a
good impact to feel smitten. She confess to Gregori and tells him that she accepts the beast in him.
These are the three examples that supports the tone of the

learn from being in school. in this paper, we will briefly discuss the social, cultural and political
purpose of the hidden curriculum in public schools. Basically, its taught in various areas of the school

Cissexism-Prejudice Against Heterosexuality
These is how I define these three words with an example for each in social work practice
A. Heteronormativity A man and woman born at birth. The norm of gender female and male at birth.
Heterosexual role only. Marriage only between a man and woman. Two distinct gender. The model
and role that each gender should play.
One example of this in the social work practice is working with a family heterosexual where there is a
father, mother and children in were this is the nuclear family or the norm.
B. Heterosexism This is when heterosexuality is the correct norm or the only sex orientation. System
of attitudes or beliefs

Costs And Benefits Of Hosting The Olympic Games
Is It Worth It?: Analyzing the Costs and Benefits of Hosting the Olympic Games It s a gorgeous early
August day. You just want to be outside, regardless of what you are doing. Are you? Nope. You are
sitting in your car, stuck in traffic because your evening commute home has tripled in time due to the
traffic. This is a common side effect of hosting the Olympic Games. On the other hand, the influx of
people coming into the city does wonders for the local economy. Every few years, countries throw
mind blowing amounts of money at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the right to host
the Olympic Games, but is it worth it for the country and its citizens? In 2015, Boston was in
contention to host the 2024 summer Games, but ultimately lost out to Paris, much to many Bostonians
delight. Was their reaction justified, or did they just miss out on a great opportunity? The monetary
costs of hosting the Olympic Games are astronomical. The most evident cost of hosting the Olympic
Games are the monetary costs that come with hosting the Games. At the Summer Games in 2008,
Beijing spent at least US$100 million on the Opening Ceremonies alone, according to Rishav Bista,
Assistant Professor of Economics at Marshall University. That is just where the costs start. At the time
of their bid, many hopeful host cities do not have the stadiums or arenas needed to accommodate all
the events or the amount of people who will be in attendance. The 2012 Olympic Games ended up

Semiotics of Gloves Essay
A glove protects. A glove provides warmth. A glove provides safety. A glove possesses many different
qualities. The presence of a glove in Cather in the Rye and Winter s Bone is something that readers
possibly overlook before delving into the true significance of the book. Once readers closely analyze
the importance within a text, some realize that a small symbol can mean something more than life to a
particular character. Both J.D. Salinger and Daniel Woodrell provide a divine illustration of how
individual culture reflects the arbitrary connection of a specific symbol. In Kaja Silverman s The
Subject of Semiotics, theorist Charles Sanders Peirce demonstrates his specific knowledge about sign
theory. He writes that a sign is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The glove not only represents Holden s love for his younger brother it also exemplifies Allie s
individuality. It is understood that after analyzing Holden s character he hates conflict with anything
around him. He is confused by his brother s death and therefore fears interactions with people and is
hesitant to let people into the barrier her has created for himself. This is seen when he struggles to
explain to Stradlater his descriptive composition assignment. Holden failed to describe a room or
house, and instead described the baseball glove. Holden gives Stradlater the composition and the
conversation flows as follows, This is about a goddamn baseball glove. So what? I said. Cold as hell.
Wuddya mean so what? I told ya it had to be about a goddamn room or a house or something. You
said is had to be descriptive. What the hell s the difference if it s about a baseball glove? (41). This is
definitely contributes to part of his culture and how he chooses to conduct his life. The glove is a part
of him, and to others, a worn out, left handed baseball mitt with scribbles of poems may not mean
anything, but to Holden, it means the world because that is all he has left of his brother. Holden keeps
Allie alive through the baseball glove. And although it s just an old worn

Characters In The Film Gladiator
Hollywood has been making historical films for ages, trying to succeed in a film where no one can
complain about historical accuracies. Unfortunately in the 200 film Gladiator director Ridley Scott did
not succeed. The film Gladiator may have had some accurate points but for the most part was not
faithful to Roman history. With the poor representations of Marcus Aurelius, Commodus and creating
an entirely new character as well as how the gladiatorial events in the movie didn t fully show how
intricate and important gladiators really were. Finally the movie didn t showcase the proper attire and
armour that real gladiators would wear.
In a historical film it is important to get the portrayal of significant people done well. In the film
Gladiator the three main characters where not portrayed correctly Maximus, Marcus and Commodus.
In the film Marcus Aurelius was shown to be a cold father to his son. He was someone who wanted to
rebuild the republic and change Rome back into a democracy and take it out of a dictatorship. This
shows inaccuracies because Marcus Aurelius was a man that had raised his to be the next emperor of
Rome. He made sure his son was on the battlefield and understood the ways of the senate so he would
be prepared to take over when it was time. ( Marcus Aurelius. Ancient History Encyclopedia) Marcus
Aurelius also never had any intention of make Rome and Republic again, no emperor ever did. So
overall the two main points the film tried to show about this man

If you want to protect the underside of your vehicle from getting rusted out, you need to apply an
undercoating to your vehicle. You can use bed liner paint to undercoat your vehicle and protect it from
rust.
Elevate Your Vehicle
In order to paint the underside of your vehicle, you are going to need access to it. You will need to use
either jack stands or a vehicle ramp in order to give you the access that you need to paint.
If you choose to use jack stands, make sure that you lift up one tire at a time and securely place the
stand under the axle before moving on to the next tire. If you choose to go with a vehicle ramp, make
sure the emergency brake is engaged.

Now that you have covered up all the important components under your vehicle, you need to sand
down the undercarriage. You will want to sand down the entire undercarriage, starting at the front and
working your way back. Sanding it down will roughen it up enough for the paint to stick to it.
Clean The Undercarriage
After you have sanded down the entire undercarriage, you need to clean it off. You don t want all the
debris from sanding to get in the paint that you are going to apply. You also need to remove any grease
that could get in the way.
Clean the area with a degreasing cleaner. You may need to use a stiff brush to remove any built up
grease. Rinse it off with water.
Paint The Undercarriage

back from the undercarriage about half a foot or so. Spray it evenly across the undercarriage, working

I T Feasibility Study
The Feasibility Study
The Feasibility study is an analysis of possible alternative solutions to a problem and a
recommendation on the best alternative. It can decide whether a process be carried out by a new
system more efficiently than the existing one.
The feasibility study should examine three main areas; market issues, technical and organizational
requirements, financial overview. The results of this study are used to make a decision whether to
proceed with the project, or table it. If it indeed leads to a project being approved, it will before the
real work of the proposed project starts be used to ascertain the likelihood of the project s success.

Examples of things to consider:
• Hardware/software selection
• How to convince management to develop the new system
• Selection among alternative financing arrangements (rent/lease/purchase)
Difficulties discovering and assessing benefits and costs; they can both be intangible, hidden and/or
hard to estimate, it s also hard to rank multi criteria alternatives
Examples of particular benefits: cost reductions, error reductions, increased flexibility of operation,
improved operation, better (e.g., more accurate) and more timely information.
Benefits may be classified into one of the following categories:
• Monetary : when $ values can be calculated e.g. Increased sales through increased production.
• Tangible (Quantified) : when benefits can be quantified, but $ values can t be calculated e.g.
cost/error reductions, increased throughput/efficiency, increased margin on sales, more effective use of
staff
• Intangible: when neither of the above applies, it is difficult to quantify, but maybe more important!
business analysts help estimate $ values. e.g., increased flexibility of operation, higher quality
products/services, better customer relations, improved staff morale.
The analyst report will also show how will the benefits accrue, when and over what timescale and how
to identify benefits. (Benefits are identified at organizational level (operational, lower/middle/higher
management) and by department

Another law and regulation currently faced by the Center for Disease Control is Health Information

sets rules and limits on who can look at it. This is a federal law. Health plans and most health care

Have you ever been snowed in? What about no power or no heat? Imagine what it would be like to

snow there is to determine a blizzard, it s about how strong the winds are and the amount of time it

harsh and deadly. Just to think about powerful, strong, frigid air and snow swirling around me is scary

Transmission Media Glossary
Thinnet Cable (10Base2):
Thinnet coaxial cable is connected using special connectors and requires to be terminated at each end
using a 50ohm resistor. 10Base2 stands for:
 Data transmission rate of 10Mbps, example: 10
 Uses baseband transmission, example: Base
 Used in Ethernet networks it has a maximum cable length of 185 metres, example: the 2 for
approximately 200 metres
Thinnet cables use a connector known as a BNC connector to make the connections between the
computers and the cables.
Thicknet Cable (10Base5):
Thicknet is very similar to thinnet, except for the additional layer of aluminium insulation and copper
braid. This makes the cable more reliable and rigid and means it is easier to be used for longer runs.
The bigger the copper core the, the further the distance the cable can carry signals. Thicknet can be
used sometimes as a backbone to connect several smaller thinnet based networks. 10Base5 stands for:
 Uses baseband transmitting, example: Base
 Data transmission rate of 10Mbps, example: 10
 Used in Ethernet networks, it has a maximum cable length of 500 metres, example: the 5 is for 500

This cable is connected using a device called a transceiver; it includes a piece of equipment that
pierces the cable to connect to it. The connector is known as a piercing tap.

The Effect Of The Repeat Voting Habit On Voting Habits
The crux of this article was in its ability to lay a groundwork for the often inharmonious thoughts,
backgrounds, and beliefs of voters when they go to the polls. The paper shows that when these come
in conflict with each other, voters most often fall back on previous voting habits to find direction at
the polls, and it is this correlation that so heavily influences the habit forming nature of voting. They
therefore discount the standardized recounting of habit formation in voting, and instead place their
model on the pedestal of truth in this venture. The authors belief is that there is more going on in this
scenario, and yet it is conversely simpler in explanation: voters are conflicted and therefore fall back
to previous points of clarity and surety. This article was tremendously valuable by merit of its
deviation from the standard literature on the subject, and empirical analysis of the data, as well as data
collection.

The scientific development of the HeLa cells has made a huge impact in the medical field. HeLa cells
are a cell line created from the doctors of Johns Hopkins Hospital. These cells are from a woman
named Henrietta Lacks and are considered to be immortal . They are considered to be unique because
they are not like any other normal human cell. This cell line is considered to be a triumph to many
scientists and researchers, but it also had some negative impacts. Many controversies arose from the
development of these cells such as how doctors at Johns Hopkins did not get consent from its patients,
how the Lacks family received nothing even with the success of HeLa cells, and the racial segregation
that has become one of the reasons for the creation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the time when Henrietta Lacks was being treated for her cervical cancer, it was the time of
segregation. Henrietta Lacks was an African American woman who was diagnosed with cancer and
most hospitals were segregated. The Berkeley Science Review s Alexandra Del Carpio states, At the
time, Johns Hopkins was the only option in the area for African Americans seeking medical treatment.
(Del Carpio) Henrietta did not have a choice about which hospital to go to seek treatment. Since Johns
Hopkins was the only hospital to treat black people, she could not even make a decision about which
hospital to go to. In bigpictureeducation.com, they exclaim, Henrietta Lacks did receive free health
care treatment for her cervical cancer, but, as she was African American, she had to travel miles to a
segregated hospital to be treated. (Big Picture) Notwithstanding Johns Hopkins provides Henrietta
with free healthcare, she has to travel a distance to receive this care. Nobody knew about the struggles
that Henrietta has dealt with by Rebecca Skloot helped her share her story. Rebecca Skloot is an
author who specializes in the science and medical category and is mostly known for her book The
Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. In this book she writes, Henrietta was a black woman born of
slavery and sharecropping who fled north for prosperity, only to have her cells used as tools by white
scientists without her consent. (Skloot) For the reason that Henrietta was black, the doctors at Johns
Hopkins thought that they were capable of doing whatever they wanted with her. They viewed her as
an experiment Considering her cells are unlike others and they never asked her for her permission.
The racial aspect played a huge role in the impact of HeLa cells. If they did not occur, then the whole

The Ethics Of Implicit Bias
You are a racist! is a phrase that produces anxiety and triggers defensive mindsets, especially in work
environments. Are you racist? Are you sexist? Are you bias? The answers to these questions might not
be as stress free to answer as you believe. Is it possible to be biased without the intent to be biased?
Yes. There are two different types of biases; explicit bias and implicit bias. Explicit bias is when you
consciously believe that certain races, genders, or religions are inferior. Implicit bias is when you
think that you are unbiased but actually perform unconscious bias actions. Recognizing implicit bias is
no easy undertaking which is why there have been theoretical attempts to avert implicit bias before it
materializes. In the modern business world, unintentional prejudiced actions happen every day. In his
paper Context and the Ethics of Implicit Bias, Michael Brownstein attempts to find a solution to these
critical issues. In this essay, I will attempt to explain the theories behind the three ethics of implicit
bias and what problems arise in each situation according to Brownstein. I will then describe the
advanced contextualist approach of Brownstein s and why I consider his strategy to be the most
effective in business settings through my own personal experiences. First I will go over the three
strategies. In his paper Context and the Ethics of Implicit Bias, Michael Brownstein lists three
approaches used to battle implicit bias. The three ethics of

Catalysts are a great example of source reductions because they provide energy in a reaction without
changing the process. By lowering the temperature of the reaction and altering the pressure used they
reduce energy. Ideally, they can be used indefinitely meaning that no product is going to waste, this
means that our environment and health would be benefited greatly due to the absence of waste. Unlike
stoichiometric reagents, catalysts do not generate waste, give more control on reaction such as
reducing unwanted side products and can carry out a reaction more than once, increasing efficiency of
product.. Also they can be used in small amounts to speed up reaction processes, so other forms of
energy would not be needed such as fossil

The Effects Of Tinnitus On The Body Of Life
Introduction
Tinnitus is an ongoing ear noise affected by the build up of wax or medicine that is dangerous in the
ear structures. It also caused by the inner ear cell damage. Once these hairs split in the inner ear, they
leak random electrical impulses to the brain, resulting in tinnitus (Brinson, 2006). These are tiny soft
hair in the inner ear that moves about due to the pressure of sound waves. The hairs activate ear cells
to release electrical signal over the auditory nerve to the brain. Then the brain will convert these
signals into sound, the perception of sound such as ringing in the absence of any external stimulus.
Thus, can distress and affect the person s freedom (Burkey. 2006).
Quality of life
Tinnitus affects the quality of life negatively as it impacts the daily life and influences older people in
a different manner. As a result, many people suffer from emotional problems and depression
(explained later) (Gutierrez, 2012). Tinnitus plays a role in individuals social life since elderlies
become sensitive to certain sounds like ongoing noises and therefore; avoid social situations thus,
approximately 30 million older adults suffer from constant tinnitus (Burkey, 2006). (Gutierrez, 2012).
As a consequence, they get isolated quickly and felt tinnitus is the obstacle to their overall life
(Brinson, 2006). The psychological effect present before the beginning of tinnitus may be significant

Battle of the Bulge
The battle of the bulge
The battle of the bulge was Hitler s last chance to win the war or at least make the allies go for a
treaty. He did this because his forces were being pushed back into Germany and soon they would run
out of supplies and other resources for war. Hitler thought of this bold plain when he recalled how a
German hero Frederick the great was facing defeat, Frederick went on a offensive attack at his foe
who had superior numbers but the bold moved worked and Hitler thought he could do the same thing.
The Battle of the bulge took place on December sixteenth 1944. More than a million men participated
in this battle including some 600,000 Germans, 500,000 Americans, and 55,000 British which made it
one of the biggest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There would be three armies the 15th Army in the North, 7th Army in the South and the main push by
Sepp Dietrich s 6th and Von Manteuffel s 7th Panzer Divisions in the center! Specially trained German
soldiers who spoke English fluently were infiltrated behind the Allied lines wearing American
uniforms with orders to disrupt the deployment of Allied units and prepare the way for the German
advance.
The crucial problem for the German was their lack of fuel and the whole adventure depended on their
initial thrust capturing the allied supplies. Without a supply of fuel they where sitting ducks but only if
they ever ran out. Hitler s last attack had to work or he would be defeated. The plan was to march 85
miles from Southern Belgium to Luxembourg and attack the allies by surprise. The Germans would
attack during the Christmas season in the Ardennes Forest, an area where there were only a few allied
solders. The invasion was designed to split the American and British armies in half. However it did
not succeed the allied lines bent but never split like the Germans hoped.
At the beginning of the battle Hitler had fighter jets fly over his troops which sent his troops fired up
for the fight now they could see Hitler did have the wonder weapons he said he had. With this battle
happening the Germans did one of the most worst things, as some Americans surrendered the
Germans would shoot them

The Downfalls of Topshop
Weaknesses
Production Facilities Topshop is among many companies around the globe that uses cheap labour, or
as many people call it, slave labour , to produce the items being sold in their stores. The use of
unethical labour can cast an unfavorable company image, which in turn may cause customers to shop
elsewhere.
Product Line/Store Management Topshop is a large company, with numerous product lines and
extensive staffing requirements. This contributes to high management costs.
Narrow Demographic Topshop caters to women in the 18 35 year age group. This is a weakness
because there is a large market they are not addressing.
Customer Service Topshop has a bad reputation for their customer service. Due to their size and large
volume of customers, it is difficult to provide individualized customer service. Also, it is difficult to
train staff to be knowledgeable on such a wide range of products.
Website needs Improvement Topshop also has a poor, difficult to navigate website. Customers have
difficulty with the Graphical User Interface which greatly inhibits the efficiency of the online
shopping experience.
Pest Analysis
Opportunities
Further Global Expansion With Topshop s heavy establishment in the UK and the beginning of
expansion into North America, further focus on market penetration in markets outside of the UK is
key. For example, China could be a profitable opportunity for Topshop due to its large population,
which provides many potential

Distance Across Your Viewing Field
31. Field of view: Actual distance across your viewing field (left to right) when looking through an
optical instrument. It can be measured in two different ways: linear feet at 1,000 yards (also known as
Real Field of View) and angular degrees (or Apparent Field of View).
Real field of view is the angle of the visible field, seen without moving the lens, measured from the
central point of the objective lens. The larger the value is, the wider the view field available. Apparent
field of view is the angle of the magnified field when you look through lens. The larger the apparent
field of view is, the wider the field of view you can see even at high magnifications. With the
conventional method used previously, the apparent field of view ... Show more content on

The main factor that affects finesse is the reflectivity of the resonator mirrors since it directly affects
the number of beams oscillating within the cavity; In addition to mirror reflectivity, factors that limit
the finesse of a Fabry Perot resonator include the mirror surface quality, along with vibrational and
thermal stability of the resonator. 33. F number: unit used to measure the image brightness projected
on the image sensor from the lens. The F number of a lens is ratio of its focal length divided by the
diameter of the aperture. High F numbers show that less light travels through the lens. An f number of
X may also be displayed as 1: X (instead of f/X). The maximum diameter of the lens opening is
referred to as its maximum aperture or minimum f number. The minimum f number is the smallest f
number that can be selected with the lens. Fig30: F number.
34. F stop: opening that lets light into your camera. And so the numbers on the f stop relate to the size
of the opening that is letting light into your camera. F stops are measured by a scale, and this is known
as the f stop scale. The numbers that correspond to different f stops seem backwards, because an
aperture of F8 is actually smaller than an aperture of F4. So, the larger the number the smaller the
opening. And the smaller the number the larger the opening. Also, most f stop numbers are not a
whole number. They are an f5, or an f1.9, or an f6, or an f1.2. Fig31: F stop

Gourd-Shaped Wine Ewer With Inlaid Grapevine
The gourd shaped wine ewer with inlaid grapevine is a ceramic piece that is currently on display at the
Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. This piece is from the Goryeo dynasty of 13th century
Korea. It is made from stoneware that was coated with a celadon glaze. A piece like this would have
typically had a lid, but like most similar pieces it was lost over time. The methods of making such
pieces has changed and shifted over the years. Korean pottery has it s own presence as well as having
taken inspiration from other cultures and locations. The use of Ceramics in Korea started around 7000
BC during the Old Josean Dynasty. From then on it became a very important part of their culture and
heritage. Many of their ceramic traditions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ceramic artists will have what is called a Kosa Ceremony where they will offer food and wine to
the kilns which they believe give the fire more spirit which creates better fired pieces. The most
typical kiln used in Korea is called a climbing kiln. A long trench is dug up the side of an area of
sloping land, a tunnel of brick and clay is built over the trench. There were many openings along the
tunnel for pine wood to be inserted to fuel the kiln. At the top of the kiln there was an opening that
was used to release the smoke. The firing process took about a week or more to slowly get the
temperature to reach 1150 to 1300 degrees; the temperature needed to produce stoneware. After the
firing was finished the artists would have to wait a few days to for the fired pieces to cool down
enough to retrieve

muffle the noise and vibration generated by the passing commuter trains. According to IIT, the tube
muffles the train noise noise from an average 120 dB to about 70 80 dB outside the building, about 70

The Core Principles Of Marketing Theory
Thou shalt differentiate , (Fulmer and Goodwin, 1988; Levitt, 1980; MacMillan and McGrath, 1997)
refers to a well known acclamation for one of the core principles of marketing theory: differentiation.
Why does differentiation bear such an importance within the marketing World? To begin with, as our
World, in general, continues to develop and evolve around us, there are many products introduced the
population which can be of the same nature, however possess a bear minimum difference which may
influence us as consumers, to favor it over its enemy. Differentiation is the first step for effective
positioning and the key, which gives consumers more value from their product.
Perceived differentiation is crucial for branding of a company s product, especially against the many
rival companies, which have very similar products to offer to the same audience (market) with the
potential ability to make or break the company s future prosperity.
Perceived differentiation is an item constructed within consumer attitudes amongst the marketing
metrics spotlight. These metrics assist with carrying out certain measures to benefit branding as
measurement is the company s nervous system , pointed out by Sir Peter Davis when regarding the
emphasis of companies gathering enough knowledge about their consumer preferences.
All of these aspects and guidelines are taken into consideration when branding a certain product to
ensure that superior customer value had been created.

Effects of Zoning on Housing Option Value.
The 2011 New Orleans International Academic Conference New Orleans, Louisiana USA 2011
Effects Of Zoning On Housing Option Value Prathamesh Muzumdar, Illinois State University,
Normal, USAAbstract The research explores the subject of zoning effect on price value of a house in
a certain designated zone. Zoning is defined as a land under planned use. This results in price value of
the land. As the area of the land decreases an increase in price occurs. This research does not specify
the magnitude of a certain unit by which a housing price will increase or decrease but it estimates the
housing option value. This research helps the policy makers to improve long term policy decisions.

In his thesis, zoning was described both advantageous and disadvantageous. Disadvantages were
found to be failure to increase the efficiency for a proportion of land to its use. In spite of the back
drop, zoning has proved to its practicality in USA as land availability is greater as compared to that of
UK. This proves that zoning is effective way of urban planning over a greater stretch of land. Glasear
and Gyaurko estimated changes in housing price resulting in housing affordability which results due
to zoning impact. They have argued in their research that housing prices differ in different area as per
zoning pattern. The pattern change occurs for different region of different states. Due to this housing
price in California is greater as compared to other states. Zoning in USA is of 4 types: Euclidian,
Performance, Incentive, Design Based 1. Euclidean: It is used mostly in small towns and large cities.
Segregation of land is done on specified geographic district and dimensional standards stipulating
limitations on development activity within each type of district. Performance: It is performance based
or goal oriented criteria to establish review parameters for proposed development projects. This type
of zoning is intended to provide flexibility, rationality, transparency and accountability avoiding
arbitrariness of the Euclidian approach and better accommodating market principles and private

Pull Factors For High School Dropout Rates In The United...
High school dropout rates are a common and persistent concern for many states. Often times, a higher
rate of dropouts can reflect negatively on the quality of education within the state. There are various
factors that contribute to the dropout rates observed throughout the country. These factors are
commonly split up as push, pull, and falling factors. Push factors are factors within the school
environment that causes the students to be pushed out of the institution. Falling factors are students
becoming apathetic towards school which leads to decrease in school performance, often due to
insufficient support both personally and academically. Pull factors are factors that relate to the
students themselves outside of the school which diverts them from finishing school. Rather than
focusing on all three factors, I decided to focus on the pull factors in order to keep things simple. My
regression will focus on the effect change in minimum wage on the rate of graduation for high school
students.
My data includes over 350 cases of secondary panel data. The cases reflect the change in basic
minimum wage through the years of 2000 2013 in 50 U.S states, but I will be focusing on the years of
2002 2009. This data was obtained from the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of State Standards
Programs Wage and Hour Division. This data is observational, which means that I will have to be
aware of various confounding factors that I will be encountering. The data is a micro

  • 2. Interdisciplinary Care And Collaboration Analysis The Importance of Interdisciplinary Care and Collaboration Have you ever wondered what makes corporations successful? Have you ever asked yourself if by giving the best of your effort as an employee, you could be a key piece to the success of your team? Steve Jobs was so right to say Great things in business are never done by one person. They are done by a team of people (Whiting, 2013) and the medical field is not the exception. Interdisciplinary care and team collaboration are based on building great teamwork, maintaining alive the principles of collaboration, and minimizing the barriers in coordination of care. (Scott, 2014) First, building great teamwork is one of the most important factors to achieve successful interdisciplinary care. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important thing to remember is that small changes and daily intakes done individually for the common purpose of the team can make a huge difference in the impact of a corporation, a state or even a whole country. If we, as professionals in the medical field, do not produce these small but so necessary changes, we will lose the great opportunity to become the catalysts of the future improvements in the healthcare system. Al we need is some type of action in the right direction, and as long as we build great teamwork, maintain alive the principles of collaboration, and minimize the barriers in coordination of care, we will make our work easier, people happier, and patients well care of. We have continuously built upon each new technology developed, which has led to the dominance of our species across the globe. We are one of the few species that have the ability to produce and use tools. Technology has been continuously improving our standard of living but have the advancements gone too far? Modern technology has begun to consume our lives instead of enhancing our lives, and this has had more consequences than positives. Although the advancements in technology have had positive aspects, tools that we are creating now are having more adverse effects than positive effects when used improperly. Take cancer for example, in the body it spreads every minute. The sooner it is diagnosed and treated the higher the chances of survival for this horrible disease. There are countless other diseases that modern technology has been able to detect and cure which is why the average lifespan has been lengthened so drastically. Computerized technology however is not the only strides made in the medical field. The development of new medicines to combat the different pathogens have made tremendous progress in the past few decades. These medicines and vaccines have helped us cure millions and have made some diseases that wiped out entire populations in the past irrelevant now. Smallpox, a terrible diseases that has been haunting humanity for centuries, killed over 300 million people in the 20th century alone (WHO). Due to the work of modern medicine small pox has been eradicated and the only strains of it exist in laboratories. The negative aspect of the continuous use of these medicines is that generation by generation autoimmunity in our bodies has decreased. The reason for this is because we don t use our immune system as much because we rely on so much medicine even for the smallest of diseases. These medicines like antibiotics used to be deemed the all curing tools but only the fact is that this is only true when they are used properly. When taking antibiotics if ... Gregori is known as the most powerful of the male Carpathians, the implacable hunter, legendary healer, and the dark one. Savannah is the daughter of Raven and Mikhail, the ruler of the Carpathians. Finally, Gregori s long wait for Savannah is ending. Now, Savannah needs to be Gregori s lifemate. Both Gregori and Savannah go to New Orleans hunting down Morrison, the vampire hunter. Alongside with a new friend, Gary, who invents the poison to kill the Carpathians. He leads them to Morrison, leading him to his death. Mood is the atmosphere. Talks about what the feeling is given in the story. Tone is the author s attitude, what the author is trying to deliver to us readers. • 7. Costs And Benefits Of Hosting The Olympic Games Is It Worth It?: Analyzing the Costs and Benefits of Hosting the Olympic Games It s a gorgeous early August day. You just want to be outside, regardless of what you are doing. Are you? Nope. You are sitting in your car, stuck in traffic because your evening commute home has tripled in time due to the traffic. This is a common side effect of hosting the Olympic Games. On the other hand, the influx of people coming into the city does wonders for the local economy. Every few years, countries throw mind blowing amounts of money at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the right to host the Olympic Games, but is it worth it for the country and its citizens? In 2015, Boston was in contention to host the 2024 summer Games, but ultimately lost out to Paris, much to many Bostonians delight. Was their reaction justified, or did they just miss out on a great opportunity? The monetary costs of hosting the Olympic Games are astronomical. The most evident cost of hosting the Olympic Games are the monetary costs that come with hosting the Games. At the Summer Games in 2008, Beijing spent at least US$100 million on the Opening Ceremonies alone, according to Rishav Bista, Assistant Professor of Economics at Marshall University. That is just where the costs start. At the time of their bid, many hopeful host cities do not have the stadiums or arenas needed to accommodate all the events or the amount of people who will be in attendance. The presence of a glove in Cather in the Rye and Winter s Bone is something that readers possibly overlook before delving into the true significance of the book. Once readers closely analyze the importance within a text, some realize that a small symbol can mean something more than life to a particular character. Both J.D. Salinger and Daniel Woodrell provide a divine illustration of how individual culture reflects the arbitrary connection of a specific symbol. In Kaja Silverman s The Subject of Semiotics, theorist Charles Sanders Peirce demonstrates his specific knowledge about sign theory. He writes that a sign is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The glove not only represents Holden s love for his younger brother it also exemplifies Allie s individuality. It is understood that after analyzing Holden s character he hates conflict with anything around him. He is confused by his brother s death and therefore fears interactions with people and is hesitant to let people into the barrier her has created for himself. This is seen when he struggles to explain to Stradlater his descriptive composition assignment. Holden failed to describe a room or house, and instead described the baseball glove. Holden gives Stradlater the composition and the conversation flows as follows, This is about a goddamn baseball glove. So what? I said. Cold as hell. Wuddya mean so what? I told ya it had to be about a goddamn room or a house or something. You said is had to be descriptive. What the hell s the difference if it s about a baseball glove? (41). This is definitely contributes to part of his culture and how he chooses to conduct his life. The glove is a part of him, and to others, a worn out, left handed baseball mitt with scribbles of poems may not mean anything, but to Holden, it means the world because that is all he has left of his brother. • 9. Characters In The Film Gladiator Hollywood has been making historical films for ages, trying to succeed in a film where no one can complain about historical accuracies. Unfortunately in the 200 film Gladiator director Ridley Scott did not succeed. The film Gladiator may have had some accurate points but for the most part was not faithful to Roman history. With the poor representations of Marcus Aurelius, Commodus and creating an entirely new character as well as how the gladiatorial events in the movie didn t fully show how intricate and important gladiators really were. Finally the movie didn t showcase the proper attire and armour that real gladiators would wear. In a historical film it is important to get the portrayal of significant people done well. In the film Gladiator the three main characters where not portrayed correctly Maximus, Marcus and Commodus. In the film Marcus Aurelius was shown to be a cold father to his son. He was someone who wanted to rebuild the republic and change Rome back into a democracy and take it out of a dictatorship. This shows inaccuracies because Marcus Aurelius was a man that had raised his to be the next emperor of Rome. He made sure his son was on the battlefield and understood the ways of the senate so he would be prepared to take over when it was time. ( Marcus Aurelius. Ancient History Encyclopedia) Marcus Aurelius also never had any intention of make Rome and Republic again, no emperor ever did. • 17. The Effect Of The Repeat Voting Habit On Voting Habits The crux of this article was in its ability to lay a groundwork for the often inharmonious thoughts, backgrounds, and beliefs of voters when they go to the polls. The paper shows that when these come in conflict with each other, voters most often fall back on previous voting habits to find direction at the polls, and it is this correlation that so heavily influences the habit forming nature of voting. They therefore discount the standardized recounting of habit formation in voting, and instead place their model on the pedestal of truth in this venture. The authors belief is that there is more going on in this scenario, and yet it is conversely simpler in explanation: voters are conflicted and therefore fall back to previous points of clarity and surety. This article was tremendously valuable by merit of its deviation from the standard literature on the subject, and empirical analysis of the data, as well as data collection. Cebula, Richard, Garey Durden, and Patricia Gaynor. 2008. The Impact of the Repeat Voting Habit Persistence Phenomenon on the Probability of Voting In Presidential Elections . These cells are from a woman named Henrietta Lacks and are considered to be immortal . They are considered to be unique because they are not like any other normal human cell. This cell line is considered to be a triumph to many scientists and researchers, but it also had some negative impacts. Many controversies arose from the development of these cells such as how doctors at Johns Hopkins did not get consent from its patients, how the Lacks family received nothing even with the success of HeLa cells, and the racial segregation that has become one of the reasons for the creation ... Henrietta Lacks was an African American woman who was diagnosed with cancer and most hospitals were segregated. The Berkeley Science Review s Alexandra Del Carpio states, At the time, Johns Hopkins was the only option in the area for African Americans seeking medical treatment. (Del Carpio) Henrietta did not have a choice about which hospital to go to seek treatment. Since Johns Hopkins was the only hospital to treat black people, she could not even make a decision about which hospital to go to. In bigpictureeducation.com, they exclaim, Henrietta Lacks did receive free health care treatment for her cervical cancer, but, as she was African American, she had to travel miles to a segregated hospital to be treated. Nobody knew about the struggles that Henrietta has dealt with by Rebecca Skloot helped her share her story. Rebecca Skloot is an author who specializes in the science and medical category and is mostly known for her book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. In this book she writes, Henrietta was a black woman born of slavery and sharecropping who fled north for prosperity, only to have her cells used as tools by white scientists without her consent. (Skloot) For the reason that Henrietta was black, the doctors at Johns Hopkins thought that they were capable of doing whatever they wanted with her. The answers to these questions might not be as stress free to answer as you believe. Is it possible to be biased without the intent to be biased? Yes. There are two different types of biases; explicit bias and implicit bias. Explicit bias is when you consciously believe that certain races, genders, or religions are inferior. Implicit bias is when you think that you are unbiased but actually perform unconscious bias actions. Recognizing implicit bias is no easy undertaking which is why there have been theoretical attempts to avert implicit bias before it materializes. In the modern business world, unintentional prejudiced actions happen every day. In his paper Context and the Ethics of Implicit Bias, Michael Brownstein attempts to find a solution to these critical issues. In this essay, I will attempt to explain the theories behind the three ethics of implicit bias and what problems arise in each situation according to Brownstein. I will then describe the advanced contextualist approach of Brownstein s and why I consider his strategy to be the most effective in business settings through my own personal experiences. First I will go over the three strategies. In his paper Context and the Ethics of Implicit Bias, Michael Brownstein lists three approaches used to battle implicit bias. The three ethics of ... • 22. The Effects Of Tinnitus On The Body Of Life Introduction Tinnitus is an ongoing ear noise affected by the build up of wax or medicine that is dangerous in the ear structures. It also caused by the inner ear cell damage. Once these hairs split in the inner ear, they leak random electrical impulses to the brain, resulting in tinnitus (Brinson, 2006). These are tiny soft hair in the inner ear that moves about due to the pressure of sound waves. The hairs activate ear cells to release electrical signal over the auditory nerve to the brain. Then the brain will convert these signals into sound, the perception of sound such as ringing in the absence of any external stimulus. Thus, can distress and affect the person s freedom (Burkey. 2006). High F numbers show that less light travels through the lens. An f number of X may also be displayed as 1: X (instead of f/X). To begin with, as our World, in general, continues to develop and evolve around us, there are many products introduced the population which can be of the same nature, however possess a bear minimum difference which may influence us as consumers, to favor it over its enemy. Differentiation is the first step for effective positioning and the key, which gives consumers more value from their product. Often times, a higher rate of dropouts can reflect negatively on the quality of education within the state. There are various factors that contribute to the dropout rates observed throughout the country. These factors are commonly split up as push, pull, and falling factors. Push factors are factors within the school environment that causes the students to be pushed out of the institution. Falling factors are students becoming apathetic towards school which leads to decrease in school performance, often due to insufficient support both personally and academically. Pull factors are factors that relate to the students themselves outside of the school which diverts them from finishing school.
