Legalization Of Same Sex Marriages
Legalization of Same Sex Marriages As a Muslim, in my opinion same sex marriage is not right and
same sex marriage should not be legalized. Out of this statement comes the question: what is the
purpose and meaning of marriage. Can we ever explain marriage in the context of a bond between two
males or two females. Can this relationship be called a Marriage ? Whether we disguise this
relationship with the label of marriage, does it become accepted into society as a real marriage? Or are
we fooling ourselves? Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman which defines many
different aspects of a relationship. It is a complement between two different and opposite types of
humans. In the natural state of existence, traditional marriage is meant to be between two people of the
opposite sex. But for the past 20 years, the debate of the legalization of marriage has uprooted many
ideologies that once existed in traditional societies. Society is now conforming to a different mentality
and it is questioning the purity of marital relations as cited in the Torah, in the Bible and in the Quran
as well in ancient scripts from civilizations of the past. Do we really believe that same sex marriages
will be equal to heterosexual marriage? Many people believe that marriage has two objectives; one is
to procreate and the other is to have intimate relations. In society a lot of people are opposed to same
sex marriages because in a traditional marriage the idea is that there is only

Google s Largest Internet Search Engine
As the internet continues to transform, so have web search engines utilized around the world. The
beginning years of web based search witnessed a number of major search engines including AOL,
Yahoo, MSN, and Netscape to name a few. Since Google s inception, other search engines have taken
a back seat. Generally accepted as an industry leader in web search engines, Google has rapidly
developed into one of the most valuable companies in the world. Controlling roughly 67.5 percent of
U.S. based search queries; Google has established itself as a dominant leader in web searches followed
by Bing and Yahoo. While Googled has a stranglehold of U.S. search volume, the company continues

The company placing the advertisement is only charged when the ad is clicked. As a result, Baidu has
an incentive to place ads from higher paying companies in prime locations. It is estimated that 99.7
percent of Baidu s $3.5 billion in 2012 revenue was generated from online marketing and advertising
services. Baidu s web based services most similarly replicate Googles; offering a variety of services
such as maps, news, video and encyclopedia searches.
How Google generates income While Google and Baidu operate in similar web based services,
Google s ventures expand far wider. It is estimated that 2013 revenue exceeded $57 billion from
multiples business sectors such as advertising, Android operating system and YouTube video
technology to name a few. A majority of revenue is generated from advertising from Google
platforms, AdWords and AdSense. 2013 financial data suggests that advertising generated $50 billion

Google AdWords is an online advertising program for companies and advertisers to reach new

Inside Rap Music Essay
Inside Rap Music
Music, like mass media and television, has such a powerful influence on our society. People think rap
music is very negative towards society, which is not the case. Rappers teach people about possible
consequences a person may encounter if they choose the same route. Rappers tell their life experience
through their songs. Rap music does not influence violence; it educates people on what is going on in
the lives of urban people. When someone mentions rap music, the first thing some people think is
violence, sex, and drugs, negative, and worthless music. There are a number of rappers that do and sell
drugs, live the crime life, and do jail time. The message that rappers send to their listeners is the
realities of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He sings about being a bastard child in the ghetto, not having enough food to eat, how he turned to
crime, and how he spent most of his life burying his peers. In a son call Smile he tells the listeners to,
keep their head up... and if they believe, they can achieve. (Scarface) In a call Niggaz Done Change he
tells the listeners about his life and the song also tells how, [Tupac was] shot and murdered. (2Pac)
The moral of the song was that if a person lives that lifestyle the out come could be death. Rap music
is a form of poetry and story telling. An article by Errol A. Henderson, describes a rapper as a poet
with jagged edges intact...that fully capture the Black ethos of struggle, resistance, righteousness,
exploitation, and creativity in Black America. (Henderson) An example is Jay Z, in the song, This Can

cops, and court. (Sigel) In that song he told what he grew up around. In the song, Who We Be by

They don t know who we be. What they don t know is the bull *censored*, the drama, the guns, the

The Fallacy Of Public Education
The Fallacy of Public Education
Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so
that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each. Plato
For the last several decades, there has been a great return to homeschooling. Many families have seen
the need to remove their children from the public education system for a variety of reasons: for
religious grounds, because of a decline of morals in the public system, or to give their children an
education where they are not held back from reaching their potential. When homeschooling, a child
can work at their own pace often learning 2 years or more of material in one year and allowing them
to fully explore topics that interest them. Their intellectual curiosity can be fulfilled and they can be
the best they can possibly be. Students in the public school system are subjected to teaching that is
repetitive, biased, and falls short of academic success. In the past, students that were failing
coursework, but were getting older, were pushed on to higher grades even though they were not ready
for the more advanced coursework. In the 1980 s there was a great number of graduates who could not
even read. How can the proponents of the public education system even make claims that to be
successful today, children need to attend their institutions? Today s formal, public educational system
of schooling is not necessary because it is a system

Jacques Cousteau Research Paper
Jacques Cousteau was a man of all trades. He was a photographer, inventor of diving devices,
undersea explorer, soldier, writer, oceanographer, and documentary host ( Jacques Cousteau
biography, n.d.). He developed the first ever trademarked SCUBA device titled the Aqua Lung (
Invention; the Aqua lung, n.d.). SCUBA is an acronym for self contained underwater breathing
apparatus. Cousteau made his grand entrance June 11, 1910, in Saint André de Cubzac, France.
Cousteau was a sickly child, who the doctors told not to participate in any strenuous activity. He

underwater dive wearing goggles (Trex, 2010). He used his own regimen of swimming to help regain

unwaveringly refused. Jacques Cousteau later went on to describe his experience in his book, The

Benefits Of Cursive Writing
Imagining our future citizens being unable to write their own signature is truly a bewildering thought.
Unfortunately, this reality is a very possible and likely outcome for our country as schools around the
United States are debating whether or not to keep cursive writing in their curriculums. Some states
believe it is a vital and basic necessity of education, while others think print handwriting would do just
fine. Generally, this matter has proven to be a very controversial topic that largely impacts education.
From the Sources, it can be gathered that there are many credible arguments to this debate, however, it
is evident that the benefits of maintaining cursive writing in schools outweigh the negatives, if any.
Those who believe cursive writing is an overrated tradition, argue that the space it takes in the
curriculum can better be used to expose students to new, more helpful material. For instance, Source A
claims that the practice of cursive writing in schools is completely replaceable. The article states,
when society adds new skills and new knowledge to the list of things public schools teach, some items
have to come off the list to avoid a curriculum that is a mile wide and an inch deep. As a result, some
states have had no problem removing cursive, while others like California are still managing to
squeeze it in. Source A also explains that with the technology of today, there may very well be
substitutes for a signature such as fingerprint scans. The general

Reflective Essay On My Free Time
I began to think to myself, like many others, that I was destined for a life of mediocrity, I wanted

Symptoms And Treatment Of Psychiatric Disorders
Among the world of mental health there exists many unexplained disorders. Most of these psychiatric
disorders occur for no reason and without conscious control. However, in the section of somatic
symptom disorders there exists diagnoses of people with factitious disorder whom intentionally
pretend illness in order to fulfill their emotional needs. For the FD client, there is a strong urge to
assume the role of patient. The disorders one witnesses are actually the client feigning symptoms of
sickness. Thus the word factitious translates in Latin to artificial or contrived. The patient may feel an
internal need to keep faking the role of being sick. They also often have a history of lying
uncontrollably and can be portrayed as good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Various scientific studies suggest that it is more common to see FD in woman than in men, but men
oftentimes portray a more chronic FD. With the FD client being such a great liar it is hard to study
their health history and find a cause for their perceived diagnosis. One theory states that during
childhood, the child might have been exposed to traumatic events such as abuse or neglect which lead
to multiple hospitalizations. In this situation the child finds comfort being at a hospital. They also
might substitute the neglected parent child bond with a staff patient bond. In a different theory the
person may have been exposed to severe illness as a child and this led to the discovery of the attention
they received associated with their sick role (Ferrara et al., 2012). Description In order to have a
proper understanding of FD one must have knowledge on somatic symptom disorders. People with
somatic symptom disorders show their psychological problems though physical symptoms. Somatic
disorders show intricate mind body interactions that cause real physical distress. The distress can be so
destructive that it portrays negatively in the clients activities of daily life; meaning the client is unable
to survive with said disorder due to lack of functional impairment. The reason why FD falls under the
section of somatic symptom disorders is because of the client s physical sign and symptoms. However
the two disorders differ because clients with FD intentionally fake

Essay On The Aztecs
The Aztecs were a powerful civilization in early Northern America. With harsh punishments and a
strong government, they kept the civilization going for a long time. The capital of their empire was
Tenochtitlan. It was located on Lake Texcoco. The Aztecs had a very interesting religion, A strict
government, very lively citizens, and language.
Aztec religion was a very interesting part of their culture. The Aztec worshipped many gods. Such as
Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc, Tezcatlipoca, and Huitzilopochtli. They sacrificed people to keep their gods
happy. One time they sacrificed a princess to one of their gods as his spouse. The king later came, and,
horrifically, found the priest of Aztec wearing the skin of his daughter. The king had ordered that the
Aztecs be destroyed. Chicomecoatl was the god who produced food. They had two gods of war,
Huitzilopochtli, and Coatlicue. The Aztecs also believed that when they died, in the afterlife they
would be given a job to help the gods. (Aztec Religion. aztecs.mrdonn.org)
The Aztecs had a very strict governing system. Crimes were severely punished in the Aztec society.

Narcissistic, Antisocial, And Dependent Personality Disorders
Discuss narcissistic, antisocial, and dependent personality disorders.
Someone with narcissistic personality disorder would show an exaggerated sense of self importance, a
preoccupation with being admired, and a lack of empathy for the feelings of others (Hooley, p.349).
Many studies support the fact that narcissism has two sub types: grandiose and vulnerable narcissism
(cain et al.,2008; Ronningstam, 2005, 2012). The grandiose sub type is manifested by traits related to
grandiosity, aggression, and dominance. They usually overestimate their abilities and

Anti social personality disorder (ASPD) is described as someone who lacks moral or ethical
development is unable to follow correct methods of behavior, finds ways to be deceitful, has no
qualms in shamelessly manipulating others and tended to have had behavioral problems as a child.
According to the DSM 5 only individuals over 18 can be diagnosed with ASPD and the symptoms
must have been shown prior to 15. ASPD can be confused with psychopathy and although they have
some overlap they are different. ASPD places heavy emphasis on observable behaviors such as lying,
getting into fights, or failing to honor financial obligations (Hooley, p.356). With psychopathy, more
emphasis is paid to personality characteristics such as superficial charm, lack of empathy, and
manipulativeness. It seems that no matter how you look at it ASPD is affected by genes and the
environment. The effects and interactions of ASPD that was once seen as simply unidirectional family
to child is now being understood that the effects can be bi directional going both ways.
Individuals with dependent personality disorder (DPD) shows an extreme need to be taken care of,
which leads to clinging and submissive behavior (Hooley, p.365). They are scared to be alone and
usually build their lives around other people and subordinate themselves to them. They tend to be

Apparently, there are two worlds that people all live in everyday and their minds are thinking about a
lot constantly no matter what they are doing. So therefore resources came to realize that not only the
minds process things, but also give illusions of maybe what either what is in the past and sometimes
what the future may bring. According to Snider (2007), All around us are evidences of reincarnation:

My Autobiography Of Earth
Autobiography of Earth Nature s beauty is a work of art. Its compelling nature is being destroyed day
after day by humankind. We need to learn to protect what we take for granted every day and what s
left of our earth. Although, our earth is continuously losing its picturesque beauty it is no longer full of
lush grass, crystal clear oceans, and an abundance of animals. However, my connection towards the
earth is powerful because I wish to cherish its beauty, live in faith that the earth will remain, and to
remember the connections I made with the earth. Earth will not destroy itself but, humankind will.
Thus, making the ending of humankind and nature inevitable unless we take actions now. Naturally,
we are expected to preserve earth s beauty and its ability to help humankind survive. Personally, it
troubles me that our own species will not take the time to secure our future generations with the
natural resources we are given every day. Our earth provides us with water, oxygen, food, and so
much more but instead we have chosen to slowly destroy it by oil leakage, littering causing climate
change, and wars amongst one another. To my family, the earth is precious to everything that we do.
However, we are not models of what it means to fully take part in taking care of the environment. We
only recycle bags and plastic, have minimal trash, and pick up other people s trash when we can. I
want to cherish the glorifying moments of seeing blue whales, killer whales, and coral

Analysis Of Daniel Handler s A Series Of Unfortunate Events
Most authors tend to write their books in a cheerful way. Daniel Handler, on the other hand, writes in a
gloomy style, showing the not so nice things that can happen to people. For example, the three
Baudelaire orphans in A Series of Unfortunate Events. Siblings who just lose their parents in a deadly
house fire and have to deal with the trouble known as Count Olaf, a villain after their enormous
inheritance. Handler wrote the 13 books in the series under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket. A Series
of Unfortunate Events is Handler s best known work. In the last book of the series, the three
Baudelaires are in the middle of the ocean on a boat after leaving a burning hotel where they worked
undercover. Unfortunately, the children are accompanied by Count Olaf, the man after their money.
And the Baudelaire fortune is finally mine! Olaf cackled Finally, I am a very wealthy man, which
means everybody must do what I say! Was Olaf s reaction to their predicament even though his
statement is completely false. Snicket made Count Olaf the antagonist in the story, a manipulative
villain where in his mind money equals power. He lives in his own fairytale where he is superior. To
make the Baudelaires situation worse, a storm is added to the mix showing that the kids can never get
a break, pushing their intelligence and strength. The storm led the Baudelaires and Olaf to an island of
strange customs. But the Baudelaires could not help but feel that they were abandoning their previous

Human activities generate many different forms of pollution that are harmful to our environment, for
example; water pollution. Pollutants change the pH balance of the water sources they infest, which in
large cases is dangerous to the plants and animals that both live in that water source and rely on it for
survival. Industrial activities such as mining and manufacturing produce waste that make the pH
balance of water acidic, while in suburban areas the waste produced and the activities that affect the
water sources generally make the water more alkaline.
This investigation will determine whether a river running through the local suburban area is being
polluted by the community, its occupants, and their regular lifestyles or not.
Hypothesis: The water in the river running through a suburban area is more polluted with alkaline
substances than acidic substances.
Aim: to investigate whether the water in the river running through a suburban area is more polluted
with alkaline substances than acidic substances.
Apparatus:
 Six containers for different water samples
 Two droppers
 Chlorine neutraliser found in a fresh water test kit
 Solution 4 (pH test

Taxpayer Case Summary
As we learned last week in Chapter 14, a taxpayer does not recognize a gain or loss on the transfer of
property to a corporation as long as the transferors have control* of the corporation immediately
following the exchange (IRC 351). The taxpayer can transfer virtually any type of property, including
cash, inventory, intellectual property (such as a patent), or a building. It s important, upon corporate
formation, that accurate records are kept on what property was used to form the corporation and what
its value is. This information is used to establish the shareholder s basis in the stock as well as the
corporation s basis in the assets contributed, which has particular importance in a corporate
liquidation. In theory, the value of the assets contributed will be equal to the value of the corporate
stock received; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

$250,000 cash in exchange for their 25% ownership in 4B s, Inc. The control test is met even though
Bob only has 25% control, because in the aggregate, the shareholders have 100% control. Bob s
realized gain is $100,000 ($250,000 $150,000), but that is deferred under IRC 351 so he does not have
to recognize that gain at the time of contribution. Rather, Bob will have a carryover basis of $150,000
in his investment in 4B s, Inc. stock. If Bob were to sell the 4B s stock tomorrow for its FMV of
$250,000, he would recognize a $100,000 gain at that time. In this example the assumption is that all

An Interview With An Aspiring Lawyer
As an aspiring lawyer, I did an interview with another lawyer who worked in my hometown of
Wilmington, Ohio at a place called Rose Dobyns. This particular lawyer happens to be life long
friends with my uncle so setting up the interview was rather easy. I also set up a ride along with the
West side of Dayton s police force but I would not be able to write the paper in time. However, I will
be able to compare and contrast the different sides of the law and will enjoy the opportunity to be able
to see what I am getting into in the future. After making it to Rose Dobyns, I told the receptionist that I
was there to see Blaise Underwood and she told me to take a seat. I took a seat and observed the
office, noticing that there was a copy of the constitution on the wall, as well as fake plants, a toy set
for kids and some nice comfortable seats. I was soon greeted by a tall, bearded man who was not
wearing a suit and tie as expected. I shook his hand, entered his office and began the interview
quickly. He told me that he originally wanted to be in the FBI or DEA when he graduated from the
University of Cincinnati. In his opinion, you can only get to that level of Law enforcement by having
a law degree or many years of police work under your belt. He clearly did not have years of police
work, so he decided to major in criminal justice then pursue a J.D. at the University of Dayton. He,
however, did not make through the FBI s very selective application and process and

Informative Speech On Tattoos
Tattooing is a body modification practice used for centuries across the globe. Because of the multiple
origins of tattoos, there are several techniques and countless styles. Every tattoo is unique in meaning
to the person that receives it, though often they can fit into generalized categories. Tattoos have fallen
in and out of popularity over the course of history, though they have never and most likely will never
disappear.
II. Specific Purpose and Need to Know:
According to Written on the Body by Jane Caplan, Tattooing is one of many forms of irreversible
forms of body alteration... and it is probably the oldest and most widespread [of these.] Due to the age
of tattooing as a whole, there are countless things one can learn ... Show more content on

Several tribes of Ancient Britons partook in tattooing as a sort of national pastime.
1.
In an article titled Ancient Britons: The Most Recognizable Tattoos of History that I accessed on June
12th, 2017, and was posted to Tattoo.com on February 16th, 2016, I learned that the tribes used ink
made from a plant called woad. It was diluted with urine and water, but because of the plants
antibacterial properties there was rarely ever a case of infection.
2.
We know of these tattooed tribes largely due to texts written by ancient Romans, who invaded the
British Isles, and in them they described the tattoos on the Britons as making them all the more
terrifying in battle.
C.
Evidence of tattoos is found not only on mummies or in text, but on the objects left behind by ancient
civilizations.
1.
There have been numerous images of Egyptian women depicted with tattoos as figurines dated as
early as 4000 3500 B.C. as well as in tomb scenes.
2.
Ancient tools made of bronze were discovered in Northern Egypt and were identified as tattooing
tools.

Now that I ve told you about some of the evidence of tattoos in history, I will next discuss how that
history has been kept alive.

Gno Broiler Production in Nassarawa, Nigeria
BROILER PRODUCTION
THE PRODUCT
Nigeria s poultry production is expanding but is not keeping pace with rapidly increasing domestic
consumption requirements. The domestic supply shortfall is estimated at 25,000 MT per annum.
Despite the supply shortfall, the Government of Nigeria (GON) imposed a ban on legal frozen poultry
imports in July 2002 to support local production. Prior to the new ban, apparently virtually all poultry
meat imports entered the country unrecorded. Nigerian poultry producers are unlikely able to compete
with illegal frozen poultry imports because of the high cost of inputs.
The poultry farm will produce broilers that will be sold dressed or live to fast food operators or
individuals that need good quality broilers. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Congenital Heart Disease
Etiology is essentially the cause of a disease or an otherwise abnormal condition. This term is
generally used by doctors and various other medical staff who study disease. S S is an acronym for the
term sudden and serious. This basically describes conditions that require immediate medical attention
and can end up being fatal without immediate action.
Congenital heart disease in newborns is a very common birth defect and effects roughly 1 in 100 or
1% of the babies born in the United States. Some of the heart defects that are a part of congenital heart
defects include, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), pulmonary atresia (PA), Tetralogy of Fallot

years of life. Initially a cardia catheterization procedure is done to evaluate the defects. Then generally
3 operations are done, including a Blalock Taussig shunt, Glenn Shunt (done at 4 6 months of age)
which replaces the initial shunt, and finally a Fontan procedure (done at 2 3 years of age) which forms
a second that directs blood from the inferior vena cava to the right pulmonary artery. The Glenn shunt
is left in place. Aortic Valve Stenosis is a heart defect that is either congenital or acquired. The disease

Smokey Coming Home
When we answered the ad about the horses for sale for my children, it never occurred to me that I
would be bringing one home for me. He was the first thing I saw when we pulled up. His coat was
swirls of black and gray with no distinguishable pattern. It made me think of smoke rising from a
chimney. He was starving thin, and his bones showed through his smokey coat. He was staked to the
bare ground. One could see he had already eaten everything his tether would let him reach. In my
mind, he was already mine. I named him Smokey before we even got out of the truck.
Just a few feet away was another horse, pure white, well fed and positively stunning. We asked the
man about the difference in how the horses were being fed, he explained; he knew he would get more
money for the white one, so he took better care of him.He knew that I wanted Smokey, he saw it in my
eyes. They come as a pair, he said. Then we saw another one, who was worse off than Smokey. There
was no way I was going to let either one of those starving animals stay.
My husband David said we only brought enough money for one of the horses, but he had a few guns
he would be willing to trade. I know the man thought we were nuts. Smokey was so starved it would
take months to bring him back, and the other one probably wouldn t even make the ... Show more

Attorney Client Privilege
The interesting part of the two matters I will be addressing here is that an individual almost has to
know prior to a suit being filed that litigation may occur. Discussions and written matter, all
correspondence, emails and documents exchanged between parties should be prepared with a thought
to potential litigation. Attorney Client Privilege and the Work Product Doctrine are two separate and
distinct issues and should be treated within the legal world as separate disclosures. Attorney Client
Privilege, which originated in Roman and canon law, has evolved into a recognized judicial doctrine
and is necessary in order to provide clients with access to effective, well informed counsel. In Upjohn

Prior to a corporation or its employees taking action, it usually requires an informed legal advice.
Legal direction may be either taken or dismissed; the point is that in order to provide an informed
decision counsel and its direct reports are provided with confidential information. Counsel reviews the
confidential information and provides an opinion on the issue. This opinion may or may not support
the legality of a matter and the company may or may not act because of the information provided,
however, the confidentiality of the initial information provided, the attorney s thought process, as well
as all reasoning associated with this process needed to be retained as confidential. Particularly when a
corporation has in house counsel, counsel may wear two hats. Not only is the counsel required to

directional advice. Corporate counsel usually holds more than one title; (in addition to those of
General Counsel, Corporate Counsel, Associate Corporate Counsel, etc.) they may also hold the title
of an Officer of the company (e.g. Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, Vice President,

A Streetcar Named Desire Dysfunctional Family
The study spotlights on the familial dysfunctionality as presented in the plays of Tennessee Williams.
The families presented in most of his plays are dysfunctional because of multiple incompatibilities. A
family whose interrelationships serve to detract from, rather than promote, the emotional and physical
health and well being of its members. Dysfunctional families are characterized by following
characteristics which are blaming or failure of responsibility, loose or rigid rules or relationships, and
set family rules. Sexual or physical abuse, addiction to alcohol or drugs, behavior problems, mental
diseases, and aggression can all attribute to dysfunctional families, physical evidence found in The
Glass Menagerie, A Cat on Hot Tin Roof and A Street Car Named Desire. All these families are
dysfunctional families, and overpowering coincides with psychological symptoms and characteristics.
Like a physical disease, the mental and emotional disease shows common symptoms, and with these
symptoms psychologists can diagnose and chart the severity of the disease. The most common
symptoms are rigid discussion which may be confused or chaotic, disagreements that offends the
members of family, a disagreeable environment, tight and unshared emotion, a lack of good humor
and the nature to laugh at one s self and disrespect for privacy. The pursuit for a better world ... Show

Theme Of Transition In A P
One of the most constant rites in the life of man is the transition. Human beings, in their daily
endeavors, are forced to transition from one stage of life to another, including transiting from life to
death. Transition exposes one to real life situations, which without maturity may lead to unexpected
consequences. In the story of A P, through the main character Sammy, John Updike reveals how the
transition could be fatal depending on the level of maturity. The story seems to begin when three
young women walk into A P; a local grocery store located in Northern Boston town, five miles from
the beach; where Sammy works as a cashier, wearing nothing else except their bathing suits. Their
attire immediately attracts the attention of most male workers in the grocery, having an immense effect
on the young teenage man Sammy. Lengel, Sammy s manager, reprimands the ladies, expressing to
them that their attire was inappropriate, and next time they visit the ... Show more content on

was his parents decision. And for the first time, he desires to transition from this state of life to adult
life. He began to understand that he will never become someone s hero by doing what his parents or
Lengel expected him to do. Therefore, the crisis period presents him as a very reflective person. While
this kind of realization was important for him, his immaturity led him to make the wrong decision, for
wrong motives. Sammy openly quits his job with intention of getting the attention of girls whom he
does not know their whereabouts. Updike brings out Sammy as immature not capable of making a

Importance Of Teaching Reasoning And Proof
Teaching Reasoning and Proof
As educators and as students it is pivotal to emphasize the importance of reasoning and proof in the
classroom. By doing such, students will develop a higher level of thinking not only in the classroom
but in the real world as well. In secondary education, it is only a short period of time until students are
faced with complex thinking that is not specific to any textbook. In education specifically students
will have to approach problems in different directions. This is something that takes a bit of adjusting
to if that student is not previously exposed to reasoning and proofs. Very young students make
conjectures all the time. It is one of the beauties of preschool and kindergarten. At this stage of life,
kids are very curious about most subjects. In the case of geometry, a preschool student starts to
recognize the similarities of a square and a cube. They obviously may not be able to reason what the
volume of the cube is, but they start to recognize the similarities. This is a tremendous aspect that
shouldn t be looked over. It is important to continue and develop these students and not let that
curiosity diminish. That curiosity is the drive in education. At this age, educators should focus on the
basics of reasoning. There aren t many formulas for these kids, they are just being exposed to the
process. It makes sense for the teachers to spend more time on the reasoning early; in return the
student s brains will start to develop those

Disease Resistance and the Immune Modulatory Effects on...
Numerous studies have assessed the feasibility and effectiveness of supplementing aquafeeds with a
variety of potentially probiotic bacteria, but probably the most well documented are LAB [41]. Among
LAB, lactobacilli strains have been the focus of much interest. Since, the immune system modulation
strongly dependent on the metabolites they produce, such as proteolysis, could release peptides that
may (or may not) interact with immune cells to induce distinct immunomodulatory response [42].
Though only few strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), especially Lactobacillus, have been isolated
from marine environments, their unique characteristics have proved that there is clear potential to use
them as probiotics with advanced health benefits [43]. To the best of our knowledge, the present
investigation was the first report on disease resistance and the immune modulatory effects on Nile
Tilapia using dietary supplemented with marine LAB. Therefore, the present work selected the most
promising marine LAB isolated from Egyptian marine samples and evaluated its effect(s) on innate
immunity and disease resistance of Nile Tilapia fish during 50 days feeding trial. Based on the
physiological characteristics, using API 50 CHL, it is pointed out that the selected isolate R1 is
Lactobacillus plantarum. Furthermore, antimicrobial activities induced by Lb. plantarum against the
fish pathogen, A. hydrophila, could be attributed to the fact that lactobacillus bacteria can be
stimulated to

  • 2. Legalization Of Same Sex Marriages Legalization of Same Sex Marriages As a Muslim, in my opinion same sex marriage is not right and same sex marriage should not be legalized. Out of this statement comes the question: what is the purpose and meaning of marriage. Can we ever explain marriage in the context of a bond between two males or two females. Can this relationship be called a Marriage ? Whether we disguise this relationship with the label of marriage, does it become accepted into society as a real marriage? Or are we fooling ourselves? Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman which defines many different aspects of a relationship. It is a complement between two different and opposite types of humans. In the natural state of existence, traditional marriage is meant to be between two people of the opposite sex. But for the past 20 years, the debate of the legalization of marriage has uprooted many ideologies that once existed in traditional societies. Society is now conforming to a different mentality and it is questioning the purity of marital relations as cited in the Torah, in the Bible and in the Quran as well in ancient scripts from civilizations of the past. Do we really believe that same sex marriages will be equal to heterosexual marriage? Many people believe that marriage has two objectives; one is to procreate and the other is to have intimate relations. In society a lot of people are opposed to same sex marriages because in a traditional marriage the idea is that there is only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Inside Rap Music Essay Inside Rap Music Music, like mass media and television, has such a powerful influence on our society. People think rap music is very negative towards society, which is not the case. Rappers teach people about possible consequences a person may encounter if they choose the same route. Rappers tell their life experience through their songs. Rap music does not influence violence; it educates people on what is going on in the lives of urban people. When someone mentions rap music, the first thing some people think is violence, sex, and drugs, negative, and worthless music. There are a number of rappers that do and sell drugs, live the crime life, and do jail time. The message that rappers send to their listeners is the realities of ... (Scarface) In a call Niggaz Done Change he tells the listeners about his life and the song also tells how, [Tupac was] shot and murdered. (2Pac) The moral of the song was that if a person lives that lifestyle the out come could be death. Rap music is a form of poetry and story telling. An article by Errol A. Henderson, describes a rapper as a poet with jagged edges intact...that fully capture the Black ethos of struggle, resistance, righteousness, exploitation, and creativity in Black America. (Henderson) An example is Jay Z, in the song, This Can t Be Life, I was born in sewage...use the streets as a con do it, I armed...surrounded by thugs, drugs, cops, and court. (Sigel) In that song he told what he grew up around. In the song, Who We Be by DMX, told the truth about what goes on in the urban society. He stated that, They don t know who we be. What they don t know is the bull *censored*, the drama, the guns, the armor, the city, the farmer, the baby, the momma, the projects, the drugs, the children, the thugs, the tears, the hugs, the love, the slugs, the funeral, the wakes, the churches the coffins the heartbroken mothers. • 5. The Fallacy Of Public Education The Fallacy of Public Education Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each. Plato For the last several decades, there has been a great return to homeschooling. Many families have seen the need to remove their children from the public education system for a variety of reasons: for religious grounds, because of a decline of morals in the public system, or to give their children an education where they are not held back from reaching their potential. When homeschooling, a child can work at their own pace often learning 2 years or more of material in one year and allowing them to fully explore topics that interest them. Their intellectual curiosity can be fulfilled and they can be the best they can possibly be. Students in the public school system are subjected to teaching that is repetitive, biased, and falls short of academic success. In the past, students that were failing coursework, but were getting older, were pushed on to higher grades even though they were not ready for the more advanced coursework. In the 1980 s there was a great number of graduates who could not even read. How can the proponents of the public education system even make claims that to be successful today, children need to attend their institutions? Today s formal, public educational system of schooling is not necessary because it is a system ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unfortunately, just prior to graduation in 1936, a serious automobile accident, that almost took his life, made this dream seem unachievable. His calling came when, during rehab for his broken limbs, he took up swimming. Within that year, he took his first underwater dive wearing goggles (Trex, 2010). He used his own regimen of swimming to help regain strength in his arms following the accident. Doctors wanted to amputate his arm, however Cousteau unwaveringly refused. Jacques Cousteau later went on to describe his experience in his book, The Silent World: One Sunday morning...I waded into the Mediterranean and looked into it through Fernez goggles...I was astonished by what I saw in the shallow shingle at Le Mourillon, rocks covered with green, brown and silver forests of algae and fishes unknown to me, swimming in crystalline water...Sometimes we are lucky enough to know that our lives have been changed, to discard the old, embrace the new, and run headlong down an immutable course. • 7. Benefits Of Cursive Writing Imagining our future citizens being unable to write their own signature is truly a bewildering thought. Unfortunately, this reality is a very possible and likely outcome for our country as schools around the United States are debating whether or not to keep cursive writing in their curriculums. Some states believe it is a vital and basic necessity of education, while others think print handwriting would do just fine. Generally, this matter has proven to be a very controversial topic that largely impacts education. From the Sources, it can be gathered that there are many credible arguments to this debate, however, it is evident that the benefits of maintaining cursive writing in schools outweigh the negatives, if any. Those who believe cursive writing is an overrated tradition, argue that the space it takes in the curriculum can better be used to expose students to new, more helpful material. For instance, Source A claims that the practice of cursive writing in schools is completely replaceable. The article states, when society adds new skills and new knowledge to the list of things public schools teach, some items have to come off the list to avoid a curriculum that is a mile wide and an inch deep. As a result, some states have had no problem removing cursive, while others like California are still managing to squeeze it in. Source A also explains that with the technology of today, there may very well be substitutes for a signature such as fingerprint scans. The general ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of these psychiatric disorders occur for no reason and without conscious control. However, in the section of somatic symptom disorders there exists diagnoses of people with factitious disorder whom intentionally pretend illness in order to fulfill their emotional needs. For the FD client, there is a strong urge to assume the role of patient. The disorders one witnesses are actually the client feigning symptoms of sickness. Various scientific studies suggest that it is more common to see FD in woman than in men, but men oftentimes portray a more chronic FD. With the FD client being such a great liar it is hard to study their health history and find a cause for their perceived diagnosis. One theory states that during childhood, the child might have been exposed to traumatic events such as abuse or neglect which lead to multiple hospitalizations. In this situation the child finds comfort being at a hospital. They also might substitute the neglected parent child bond with a staff patient bond. In a different theory the person may have been exposed to severe illness as a child and this led to the discovery of the attention they received associated with their sick role (Ferrara et al., 2012). Description In order to have a proper understanding of FD one must have knowledge on somatic symptom disorders. People with somatic symptom disorders show their psychological problems though physical symptoms. Somatic disorders show intricate mind body interactions that cause real physical distress. The distress can be so destructive that it portrays negatively in the clients activities of daily life; meaning the client is unable to survive with said disorder due to lack of functional impairment. The reason why FD falls under the section of somatic symptom disorders is because of the client s physical sign and symptoms. ASPD places heavy emphasis on observable behaviors such as lying, getting into fights, or failing to honor financial obligations (Hooley, p.356). With psychopathy, more emphasis is paid to personality characteristics such as superficial charm, lack of empathy, and manipulativeness. It seems that no matter how you look at it ASPD is affected by genes and the environment. Daniel Handler, on the other hand, writes in a gloomy style, showing the not so nice things that can happen to people. For example, the three Baudelaire orphans in A Series of Unfortunate Events. Siblings who just lose their parents in a deadly house fire and have to deal with the trouble known as Count Olaf, a villain after their enormous inheritance. Handler wrote the 13 books in the series under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket. A Series of Unfortunate Events is Handler s best known work. Olaf cackled Finally, I am a very wealthy man, which means everybody must do what I say! Was Olaf s reaction to their predicament even though his statement is completely false. To make the Baudelaires situation worse, a storm is added to the mix showing that the kids can never get a break, pushing their intelligence and strength. • 34. A Streetcar Named Desire Dysfunctional Family The study spotlights on the familial dysfunctionality as presented in the plays of Tennessee Williams. The families presented in most of his plays are dysfunctional because of multiple incompatibilities. A family whose interrelationships serve to detract from, rather than promote, the emotional and physical health and well being of its members. Dysfunctional families are characterized by following characteristics which are blaming or failure of responsibility, loose or rigid rules or relationships, and set family rules. Sexual or physical abuse, addiction to alcohol or drugs, behavior problems, mental diseases, and aggression can all attribute to dysfunctional families, physical evidence found in The Glass Menagerie, A Cat on Hot Tin Roof and A Street Car Named Desire. All these families are dysfunctional families, and overpowering coincides with psychological symptoms and characteristics. Like a physical disease, the mental and emotional disease shows common symptoms, and with these symptoms psychologists can diagnose and chart the severity of the disease. The most common symptoms are rigid discussion which may be confused or chaotic, disagreements that offends the members of family, a disagreeable environment, tight and unshared emotion, a lack of good humor and the nature to laugh at one s self and disrespect for privacy. • 35. Theme Of Transition In A P One of the most constant rites in the life of man is the transition. Human beings, in their daily endeavors, are forced to transition from one stage of life to another, including transiting from life to death. Transition exposes one to real life situations, which without maturity may lead to unexpected consequences. In the story of A P, through the main character Sammy, John Updike reveals how the transition could be fatal depending on the level of maturity. The story seems to begin when three young women walk into A P; a local grocery store located in Northern Boston town, five miles from the beach; where Sammy works as a cashier, wearing nothing else except their bathing suits. Their attire immediately attracts the attention of most male workers in the grocery, having an immense effect on the young teenage man Sammy. Lengel, Sammy s manager, reprimands the ladies, expressing to them that their attire was inappropriate, and next time they visit the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 36. Importance Of Teaching Reasoning And Proof Teaching Reasoning and Proof As educators and as students it is pivotal to emphasize the importance of reasoning and proof in the classroom. By doing such, students will develop a higher level of thinking not only in the classroom but in the real world as well. In secondary education, it is only a short period of time until students are faced with complex thinking that is not specific to any textbook. In education specifically students will have to approach problems in different directions. This is something that takes a bit of adjusting to if that student is not previously exposed to reasoning and proofs. Very young students make conjectures all the time. It is one of the beauties of preschool and kindergarten. At this stage of life, kids are very curious about most subjects. In the case of geometry, a preschool student starts to recognize the similarities of a square and a cube. They obviously may not be able to reason what the volume of the cube is, but they start to recognize the similarities. This is a tremendous aspect that shouldn t be looked over. It is important to continue and develop these students and not let that curiosity diminish. That curiosity is the drive in education. At this age, educators should focus on the basics of reasoning. There aren t many formulas for these kids, they are just being exposed to the process. It makes sense for the teachers to spend more time on the reasoning early; in return the student s brains will start to develop those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Disease Resistance and the Immune Modulatory Effects on... Numerous studies have assessed the feasibility and effectiveness of supplementing aquafeeds with a variety of potentially probiotic bacteria, but probably the most well documented are LAB [41]. Among LAB, lactobacilli strains have been the focus of much interest. Since, the immune system modulation strongly dependent on the metabolites they produce, such as proteolysis, could release peptides that may (or may not) interact with immune cells to induce distinct immunomodulatory response [42]. Though only few strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), especially Lactobacillus, have been isolated from marine environments, their unique characteristics have proved that there is clear potential to use them as probiotics with advanced health benefits [43]. To the best of our knowledge, the present investigation was the first report on disease resistance and the immune modulatory effects on Nile Tilapia using dietary supplemented with marine LAB. Therefore, the present work selected the most promising marine LAB isolated from Egyptian marine samples and evaluated its effect(s) on innate immunity and disease resistance of Nile Tilapia fish during 50 days feeding trial. Based on the physiological characteristics, using API 50 CHL, it is pointed out that the selected isolate R1 is Lactobacillus plantarum. Furthermore, antimicrobial activities induced by Lb. plantarum against the fish pathogen, A. hydrophila, could be attributed to the fact that lactobacillus bacteria can be stimulated to ...
