Natalie Coughlin s Engagement Ring
When we think of large or impressive celebrity engagement rings, we often think of actresses, singers,
or models. While female athletes are not often known for their flashy jewelry, many of them also have
beautiful engagement rings, proving that you can be active and still enjoy gorgeous jewelry. Here are
eight great engagement rings worn by some famous female athletes.
Natalie Coughlin
Olympic gold medalist swimmer Natalie Coughlin has been married now for more than seven years,
but that does not make her ring, given to her by her husband and fellow swimmer Ethan Hall, old
news. Coughlin s engagement ring is a 2 carat round cut diamond on a platinum band.
Maria Höfl Riesch

Now, apparently Todd Kapostasy, a Fox Sports producer, has stolen Lipinski s heart. The couple got
engaged in December 2015, and the bride to be got a large oval solitaire diamond ring.
Nastia Liukin

college hockey player, got engaged in June 2015, she was excited to show off her engagement ring.

The Best Day Of My Life Essay
Thinking back on an event or a day that I would entitle the best day of my life was more of a
challenge because to me I feel I had so many, but there was this one day that kept haunting my brain,
not letting me suppress it. The memory of my 16th birthday. Now I know you may wonder why I
choose this particular day to be my top choice out my 17 years of life, but it was just something about
this time that makes it different than any other ordinary day.
It all started early morning on the twenty sixth day of May 2016, when my mom came into my room
and sung to me the black version of the birthday song. After, listening and laughing at her belt out her
high notes for a song that is primarily sung in a low to medium ... Show more content on

As I was observing my new phone, my eyes started to become full of tears of joy, because I was
asking for this gift for the longest but she would never budge to buy it for me, not knowing she was
just waiting for the perfect time to give to me. At this point my day could not get any better than this.
Still yet, her work wasn t done! She rushed me out of the house and drove two hours and 32 minutes
to be exact towards our destination, Myrtle Beach. On our ride there we did your normal car dues such
as karaoke where we would assign each other s parts to sing, we even took pleasure at laughing at
people s facial expressions as they passed by. There was also a point when we participated in a
stoplight race, which by the way was 100 percent safe, because we just wanted to see whose car had
the fastest takeoff.
Now that we were just an hour away from where we were going we stopped at a little corner store on
the edge of Tuberville to gas up and buy some snacks since we were getting hungry. As I was walking
towards the store with $30.00 in hand, I saw a little glare from the ground. Nearing the suspicious
flash, I bent down and right beside the broken glass was $200.00

In an interconnected world, social and economic catastrophe in one country spills over onto its
neighbours (Chauvet, et al., 2007, p. 3). Failing States are often blamed for housing terrorist groups
and transnational criminal enterprises, for the proliferation of small weapons, the spread of infectious
disease, and endangering global energy security (Patrick, 2007; Lynch, 2016). They also account for a
disproportionate amount of civil wars around the world and large number of refugee movements
(Chauvet, et al., 2007). Outside countries, and agencies alike often find themselves intervening in the
affairs of failing states to prevent failure from crossing boundary lines. On occasion the collapse of
one administration can initiate a domino effect in neighbouring countries. The recent Arab Spring is
one of the greatest examples of a spillover or domino effect in recent history (de Blij, et al., 2014).
What began as an act of protest by a young Tunis man burning himself in December 2010, quickly
grew into a number of public protests. A couple weeks later the Tunisian government was forced to
step down and within months protests against established autocratic administration had diffused to
nearby countries, and Libya, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, and Bahrain were experiencing similar public
outcry (de Blij, et al.,

In Some Manner, It Would Be Strenuous To Realize All Of
In some manner, it would be strenuous to realize all of the goals, such as removing distortions to
international trade and promoting technological innovation and the transfer and dissemination of
technology in the Preamble and other provisions. To be specific, technology transfer was introduced in
article 7 of the TRIPS Agreement. Article 7 stipulates: protection and enforcement of intellectual
property rights should contribute to the promotion of technological innovation and to the transfer and
dissemination of technology. However, the scope and language of this provision are quite vague and
extensive, whereas many formal or informal institutions, such as pre grant disclosure and post grant

Except for the machinery industry, there was little difference regarding willingness to transfer
technology in other industries. Policy transparency, quality of human capital, and market size are very
important factors of FDI, while the degree of IPR protection is only one of them. Failure to work a
patent failure to work a patent might be discussed under the context of article 7 of the TRIPS
Agreement, as Professor Gervais indicates. A number of supporters of the local working requirement
argue if the patentee would be entitled to a territorial legal monopoly, she should to contribute to the
development of the industry in that territory as an act of reciprocity. Nonetheless, K. McCabe explains
the reason why defining the working requirement would be a burden for transnational companies. If
comprehensively every country requires local working as one of the requirements for granting a
patent, then exportation to a new foreign market means to establish a manufacturing facility in the
country. Defining local working as a requirement therefore constitutes an unnecessary burden for a
foreign patentee to build manufacturing facilities in all the signatories of TRIPS who have legislation
as such. For this reason, the grounds for granting compulsory licenses should be limited to countries
with a lower standard of technology

Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden
The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936.
The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone
dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining
the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness.
The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an
ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs
of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the
instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened.

Death severs this connection, creating a shift in how life is perceived. The strength of this is in
contrast with the images of death, the funeral preparations, and how society thinks of mourning that
are in the previous stanzas. The last line of the third stanza and the fourth stanza speak to the perpetual
sense of loss that death has on the plane of living.
In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature
notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He
desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will
not be adequate at best. There is no optimism at the end of the poem; the reader is left with the very
real and very hostile sense of the man s grief, since no end can be accomplished without the poet s

Essay On Feral Hogs
Feral Hogs and their Impact on the Missouri Ecosystem When the topic of environmental problems is
brought up in social circles, the issues that usually come to mind would be air pollution and the search

including Missouri is the problem of the invasive nature of feral hogs. This paper will discuss the
prevalence and disruption of Missouri habitats by these hogs. In addition to providing vital
information on the topic, the paper will propose a possible solution for this problem. However, before
a solution can be presented, one must be informed of the people who are directly affected by this
environmental issue. This invasive species affects much of those in rural communities. Some of the
stakeholders that are involved with this problem are farmers both small town and commercial,
conservation workers, nature enthusiasts, and non farming citizens of these communities. The damage
feral hogs can do to land is vast. As stated in the article, Feral Hogs in Missouri, A social group of ten

A Speech Congress, Frank Bowe, A Highly Educated Deaf Man
Individuals with disability have had a long history of maltreatment in America. From being thought of
as possessed individuals in need of exorcism, targeted for heinous experiments, unknowingly
sterilized, being labeled imbecile, feeble minded, and retarded, to being shipped off to state schools or
mental asylums, those with disabilities were given no consideration as a valuable and able to
contribute member of society. In a speech to congress, Frank Bowe, a highly educated deaf man
highlighted this claim by stating, we are not even second class citizens, we are third class citizens
(Bowe, F. 1977 need citation), and Jim Cherry (2001) furthered the ideal in his words, that prior to
1970 we [disabled citizens] had no right to education, to employment, to transportation, to housing, or
to voting. There were no civil rights laws for us, no federal advocacy grants. Few people looked
beyond our medical needs (Cherry, J.L, 2001

1973 attempted to fundamentally change how disabled people were reguarded.
Background History of Section 504

Nalidxic Acid Agar Lab Report
The goal of the streptococcus lab was to isolate and characterize the type of streptococcus
microorganism that may be located in the back of the one s throat (the source of the specimen). In
order to isolate a specific type of organism, a sample is collected by doing a throat swap. The sample
was streak on a Columbia Nalididxic Acid agar (CNA) plate by using the three way method. The CNA
was used as a selective media for colistin and nalidixix acid but also used for differential reactions for
hemolytic reaction as well as on a Blood Agar Plate (BAP). On the CNA plate, the antibody Optochin
was added to see if there were growth and to check what type of hemolytic reaction it had. If it had
alpha hemolytic, then we stop there. If the sample is beta hemolytic, another test is necessary to be
done in order to confirm result that was received, which is a test with the Bacitarcian antibiotic. From
the BAP, a colony was picked and inoculate in broth for growth in order to ... Show more content on

need to run a test with Bacitarcian antibiotic. The CNA plate had the Optochin disk and there were

was resistance to the antibiotic, it was known to be a Streptococcus virulence. From the broth mix, a

out to be a gram positive, long chains with virulence. Usually, an alpha hemolytic microorganism is a

Successful Time Management Skills Analysis
Without having successful time management skills flowing correctly in my daily schedule. I find
myself stressing to get certain things done. Time Management is very important when it always seem
that there is never enough time in the day to complete daily actives such as being a full time working
mother, wife, and student. It seems as if I try to stretch myself to complete more goals with less time.
Even though I know, there are 24 hrs n each day those 24 hours never seem like enough to complete
my daily activities. To work on a more positive and workable time management plan has become one
of my main focuses. I have downloaded the time management form to see if I can expand find some

cannot manage their time and routine appropriately and recommends that proper and appropriate
planning is the main asset of a leader. The way that I have been operating, I have missed important
deadlines, My work has been somewhat poorly and I have been working with higher stress levels. All
this can be avoided by managing my time more correctly and stop trying to be a superwoman and

My Most Favorite Time Of The Year At The Best Place
As August approaches, excitement runs through my veins. It s that time of year... I think to myself, My
most favorite time of the year at the best place. Mac s Landing Resort in Michigan is the hot spot for
my family and friends to have a great week of fun. The whole week is consumed with tubing, riding
the jetski, swimming, and relaxing on the beach at Arbutus Lake. This resort was my very first
vacation ever. I was only two weeks old the first time I went, and I don t remember a smidge of it.
Although I don t remember anything from when I was two weeks old, I remember and cherish the
memories I ve made since I was the age of seven. Ever since I had started school, this week of
vacation meant that I would miss the first week of school. I was always so excited to miss some of the
beginning of school. This time of the year excited me since it was vacation and I got to miss school.
My mom had always said, Missing a little school isn t going to hurt. It s a family vacation and they
will get over it. I always thought it was funny how she said would say this about me missing school.
Being on vacation is a lot more fun than being at school the first week. From days on the beach to
campfires, my cousins, my friends, and I enjoy many activities. My cousins, Allison, Jada, and
Lauren, helped to make this vacation mean something to me. We would play multiple games on the
beach. Some of them were King of the Raft and Categories, but one of my favorite that we made up

Saint Augustine s Life Of Augustine
Saint Augustine
The Life of Augustine
Augustine was born in North Africa in AD 354 in the city of Thagaste. His father, Patricius, was a
pagan and his mother, Monica, a devoted Catholic who relentlessly prayed for her son s salvation.
Saint Augustine of Hippo wrote Confessions between AD 397 and AD 398. He is regarded as a great
theologian, philosopher, and one of most prolific Latin author s of many works. Augustine was
schooled at Tagaste and Madaura and later at Carthage where he became interested in Latin literature
and became a teacher of literature and public speaking. Later in Milan he converted to Catholicism
and was baptized, ordained, and eventually became the Bishop of Hippo. He is still considered an
influential, but very controversial bishop of the Catholic Church (Smither, 2009).
Confessions of Saint Augustine
Augustine wrote Confessions while he was a bishop at Hippo. The book was written using a peculiar
and very original style. It is a type of conversation from Augustine directed towards God. The book is
a form of autobiography, written in thirteen books that are bound together by the theme of God s grace
and redemption. His own life is testimony to this as God s love is seen in each stage he went through
along his journey back to the truth (Pusey, 2014).
Throughout the entire book Augustine uses philosophical and theological reasoning; he also includes
an exegesis of biblical scripture. In the first nine books are written as an autobiography where he

In 1966 the EEOC issued regulations that provided that employers must afford accommodation unless
it would cause a serious inconvenience to the conduct of business. In 1967, this regulation was further
refined to read undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s business. These regulations were
quickly challenged as was the EEOC authority to issue such regulations. (Foltin Standish, 2004, p. 3).
Finally, in 1972 Congress amended Title VII adding a new section 701(j), which reads as follows:
The term religion includes all aspects of religious observance and practice, as well as belief, unless an
employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate to an employee s or perspective
employee s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s
business.
This still left the defining of the terminology reasonably accommodate and undue hardship to the legal
system.

What Is The Dramatic Irony In The Black Cat By Edgar Allan...
The Black Cat is an old short story written by Edgar Allan Poe an American Writer. It is a horror
fiction story which demonstrate the fascinating changes that the human mind has during the abuse of
alcohol. The protagonist is physiological corrupter by the abuse of alcohol and his mind play games
with itself. He changes his personality as the story progresses and the way that he treats others around
him. Everyone is affected by his behavior even his lovely cat. The cat becomes the object of his hate
and in some way it is the first thing that he blames about his irrational acts. In the short story The
Black Cat , Edgar Allan Poe, uses a varied forms of Irony, dramatic Irony, verbal Irony, and situation
irony to produce a transformation of love threw hate along of the story.
In dramatic Irony, occurs when the readers are aware about what is going to happen, but the characters
do not have any clue about what is going on. In The Black Cat , the story begins with the main
character sentenced to death, but with one story to tell. The Irony here is that he was not aware about
how his life was going to change. In the beginning he is describing how happy was his childhood and
how much he loved his pets. In the second paragraph of the story the main character describes his
personality as a child in the first sentence From my infancy I was noted for the docility and humanity
of my disposition. My tenderness of heart was even so conspicuous as to make me the jest of my
companions (3). He was a lovely child with an uncertain future. Another irony finds it on the story is
how he describes the fidelity and love that the man can own There is something in the unselfish and
self sacrificing love of a brute, which goes directly to the heart of him who has had frequent occasion
to test the paltry friendship and gossamer fidelity of mere Man (3 4). When the story is progressing he
is transforming to a violent man without any act of compassion towards his faithful pet, which actually
represented faithfulness. He is represented himself as a child with a lovely personality, but he is not
aware that the lovely child was going to transform in an alcoholic man with a violent personality
willing to kill mercilessly.

Rena’s Concept of Nation Building Based on Chavez and Morales
Ernst Renan s concept of nation is about a proposal that urges people to come together in order to have
consciousness about the process of building a nation and to forget about the differences in geography,
language, race, and religion. He insists on telling that a nation is composed of people s collaboration
and agreements to stay together and be governed by mutual approval because they shared a common
past. Based on this concept, we can say that Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales were trying to build a
nation by using history to unify the nation and to challenge the notion of geography and in the case of
Morales the language and race.

Similar to Chavez, Evo Morales contributed to the concept of geography as part of making a nation
because Bolivia is divided into two races groups: European and Indigenous. It was difficult for Evo to
be able to unify Bolivia for being an Indigenous person. He can be seemed as one of the men that
Renan mentioned who are healthy in mind and warm of heart because he was creating a kind of moral
conscience based on the coca leaf which he defended to be a form of food supply for the poor. As
well, he said that the growing of coca was a job for the peasant community (based on the film
Cocalero). In addition, we can see that the contact with the people by playing soccer games with the
local miners demonstrate the moral consciousness that he wanted to implement. The fact that Evo
spoke demonstrated that the language as Renan said need to be forget, even though, there was a great
percent of people who spoke Quechua. He wanted to reach everybody by speaking the primary
language. Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales had similar and different contributions about Rena s concept
of nation building. Chavez supported the ideas that geography was important to unify and to have
progress in the nation. While, Morales was challenging this characteristic because Bolivia is a perfect
example of how difficult is to govern when a nation is divided. Both Presidents were fighting for
agrarian reform and this made the poor to enforce the agenda of each president. They tried to reach

Starbucks is still only supplying less than 5 percent of the coffee market. With this low of a number
there is still much more growth that can take place within the industry. This number allows for many
more stores to be added to their list of future prospects. Weber states that competitiveness is related to
company effectiveness, which is determined by whether the company satisfies the needs of
stakeholders (groups affected by business practices). Important stakeholders include stockholders,
who want a return on their investment; customers, who want a high quality product or service; and
employees, who desire interesting work and reasonable compensation for their services. The
community, which wants the company to contribute to activities and projects and minimize pollution
of the environment, is also an important stakeholder. Companies that do not meet stakeholders needs
are unlikely to have a competitive advantage over other firms in their industry. The economy is still
moving ahead strong and the possibility of their becoming a recession are starting to become a bit
more possible. The finances of the company are very strong and one of the leaders within the industry

Frank Gaffney Hero
There are many heroic people in this world that are of inspiration to others. Some are famous and well
known, while some are unknown and even forgotten. An example of an unfortunately forgotten hero is
World War I veteran Frank Gaffney; the second bravest man in the United States military. Frank
Gaffney earned his heroism for his quick response when faced with danger during World War I. Even
though Gaffney became a forgotten hero of war, his remarkable accomplishments played a huge role
in the development of our free country.
Frank Gaffney was born in Buffalo, New York in 1883 and later enlisted in the army at age thirty one.
Gaffney was a fearless and brave man and, therefore, earned the name The Human Hurricane from his

time, he bombed several dugouts and killed four more Germans. He held his position until
reinforcement came. Gaffney s actions led to the capture of eighty German soldiers once backup

Egypt Complex Civilization
Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization because it had all of the important society indicators. In the
earlier years the Egyptians spent most of their time as being hunters and gathers. Then once they
settled by the Nile River, they started farming. Once even more people settled in, the population
continued to grow. This is how Egypt became a complex civilization and the seven indicators became
a big part of Egypt.
One way Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization is by having methods of keeping records. The
ancient Egyptians used a writing called hieroglyphs for this indicator. Ancient Egypt had a language

The Ponca signed this because their people were near starvation with the buffalo disappearing, and
Lakota war parties who were furious the Ponca had signed away their traditional lands to the
government were a constant, ominous threat. The fourth and final treaty was signed a few weeks
before the Civil War ended, on March 19, 1865. As a reward for their constant fidelity to the
government and citizens, (32) the Indian Office gave the Ponca a new 96,000 acre reservation near the
mouth of the Niobrara, (their old traditional homeland that included their old burial grounds and
cornfield) since a delegation of chiefs in Washington, D.C. agreed to give up 30,000 acres of their
current reservation. The Ponca once again flourished, with their people now numbering around seven
hundred. Sadly, Congress took almost two years to ratify the last treaty, so annuities dried up and there
was no money left for schools, saw mills, plows, or fencing to keep the horses and cows from eating
up their crops. Once again, the Ponca faced severe hunger. Three years later, on April 29, 1868,
Lieutenant General William Tecumseh Sherman grew tired of constant warfare with the Lakota, and
signed a treaty giving them unprecedented concessions. Known as the Fort Laramie Treaty, one of the
later characterized blundered concessions (unbeknownst to the Ponca) included the entire 96,000 acre

For most of Homer Sonny Hickam s life, he worried about what his dad thought about him and didn t
want to disappoint him. His father would have like him to be a mining engineer in the Coalwood
mine, but Sonny had his own dreams. Even though his father had high expectations of him, he let his
dreams take hold of his life and transform him for the better. In the book, October Sky, the main theme
that doing something people are passionate about can transform them, is prevalent throughout the
entire book, especially with the change that Sonny goes through building his rockets. In the real world,
hard work and persistence will bear results in more than just someone s work, but also in their
character.
Doing something you are passionate about is one of the many things that can transform a person. This
is illustrated in the book by Sonny s father Homer. I m going to show you first hand what an engineer

Gilded Age Urbanization Analysis
 Urbanization
The Gilded Age saw the United States shift from an agricultural to an urban, industrial society, as
millions of Americans flocked to cities in the post, Civil War time zone. Nearly 40 percent of
Americans lived in urbanized areas by 1900, as opposed to 20 percent in 1800s. Industrialization and
the rush to the cities led to the development of consumerism and a middle class. The rich had many
advantages to the new age.
 Immigration
In addition to this major shift from rural to urban areas, a new wave of immigration increased America

Chandler s approach made business history more human and portrayed both the individual business
and the total economic system as much more complex and tenuous than had earlier studies.
The political debate over the currency tight money versus easy money had equally bewildered early
historians. Many Gilded Age farmers favored inflation to counteract the growing value of their debts
after wheat and cotton prices nose dived; some businessmen also liked easy money because low
interest rates enabled them to expand operations. This issue tended to pit Westerners and Southerners,
who needed cash for economic development, against the East, but it also had a powerful moral
component. Those who favored a currency based on some intrinsic value such as gold stood divided
from those who saw money as a flexible device for regulating the nation s economic health. In the
broadest sense, the currency debate highlighted the complexity of the national economy and the
growing difference of opinion over the role of government in it. In 1964 Irwin Unger elucidated the

Changes in Relationship between Father and Son in The Road
The Road is he novel written by Cormac McCarthy. The author described post apocalyptic America;
unnamed disaster turned the continent (and the whole world, as the reader can suggest) to ruins. Most
people died, while small groups turned to barbarian communities or hermits, who did fear to practice
cannibalism or have other cruel experience. This environment existed for years. Unnamed father and
son tried to cross the continent to find better place and bring a fire to some final destination. McCarthy
did not make any direct conclusions, but readers can suggest characters partially achieved their goal.
Wihile the father died because of illness, wounds and poor conditions, the boy found other good
people and potentially safe place to live. Final paragraphs of the novel show new parents support
father s attempt to save some parts of the old world in the boy s memory. At least they did it in case of
religious issue. The man told his son basic things about the God and religion, and his new family

Symbolism Of Power In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
Trace Draper
Ms. Tantlinger
Honors English 10
2 January 2018
Power can be used for the greater good, or power can be used to advance personal agenda As Golding
s Lord of the Flies develops, power does also. When a group of boys are stranded on an island, the
boys power shifts dramatically. The boys fight for power and savagery increases as the time on the
island increases. The island was split into groups due to Jacks fiend for power, this was the cause of all
evil on the island. Power on the island causes murder and great destruction. The conch is a symbol for
power and order, and Ralph controls the privilege of holding the power. When Jack s character is
introduced in chapter 2 he is already fighting for the power of the conch with Ralph. The conches role
was very significant in early chapters to keep the boys on the same page but the power of the conch
was quickly lost to Jacks uprising. Jack s power takes over him and turns him into a savage creating
destruction to the whole island. They painted their faces like savages (Golding 163). Jacks way of
proving himself to the rest of the island was to kill the pig. He did this not for the food but to show his
dominance. Power later leads to destruction when Jack and his tribe kills Simon. Simon s role on the
island was almost a spiritual figure to Ralph. He was able to inform Ralph many things about the
island and how it could affect the group of boys. Jack had no remorse after the killing and made it

against the light and their green feathers were a hundred feet up in the air (Golding 9). The island
seems serene though The ground beneath them was a bank covered with coarse grass, torn everywhere
by the upheavals of fallen trees, scattered with decaying coconuts and palm saplings (Golding 10)
later it shows dark things. The boys were happy at first and were having fun since there were no rules.
They swim in the water and play in the sand like they think it is a vacation. On the other hand the
asylum appears nice to the patients and soon Maria. She refuse to play ball in the recreation yard, or to
make artificial flowers in the workshop that a group of inmates attended with frenetic diligence. But
after the third week she began, little by little, to join in the life of the cloister (Marques 83) These
things distract the characters in their pursuits to freedom. There is no way to beat this setting.

Three Main Factors Leading To The Fall Of Mayan Civilizations
Mayan civilization, as one of the most dominant indigenous societies throughout the history, has never
been forgotten either by historians or normal people. With its vigorous development, an era of Golden
Age began during the Classic Period. However, once untouchable, Mayan civilization crashed in such
a short time as if it had never appeared before. The collapse of Mayan civilization is like a mystery for
historians today, so they never give up searching for evidence that caused the dramatic reversal in
history. Since there was not a decisive cause led to the fall of Mayan civilization, three main factors
possibly could bring about the Maya collapse contemporarily: drought, warfare between city states,
and overpopulation. Foremost, drought plays a dominant role in leading to the fall of Mayan
civilization. Drought has always been connected with a part of extinction because the living
environment is one of the most crucial points for survival. Drought is caused by prolonged shortages
of water supply and there is no species can live without water, so all the living factors are depending

make it entirely impossible for farmers, which accounts for 90 percent of the population, to make a

Rhetorical Devices In One Thousand Paper Cranes
Mode Paragraph: The rhetorical mode of One Thousand Paper Cranes a is narrative that follows the
narrative arc. It is narrative because it follows the narrative arc of exposition, inciting incident, rising
action, climax, falling action, and a resolution throughout the story. The books starts off with the
inciting incident of the bomb being on Hiroshima which cause Sadoko to become ill and die in the
future. The rising action lets us follow Sadoko as her condition worsens The climax of the book is
Sadoko s death if shifted the direction of the book to a what will happen next. The falling action let s
Sadoko s class take charge of how the will remember her. The resolution is Sadoko s class fundraising
to have the peace park built for all the kids that died because of the radiation. That is why the
rhetorical mode of One Thousand Paper Cranes is narrative.
Character Paragraph: In this story Sadoko is the protagonist that is having to overcome the newly
grow issue of leukemia. Also this story main focuses on her and her action. I believe Sadoko is a flat
character because throughout the book we are reminded of her strong will and determination which
was never be deterred until death. Which can be seen when Sadoko is described as being vibrant and
athletic and we know on page 32 and toward the end you can see her hard work never ended when she
still continued to make paper cranes even after her condition worsened. In addition, I believe Sadoko
is a dynamic character. Came to this conclusion, we see her express many different characters. She is
happy, saddened at times, kind, Optimistic, and cheerful. In conclusion, I feel these ways because
Sadoko s spirit and many character traits stand strong.
Point Of View Paragraph: The point of view of this story is third person omniscient because we are
able to understand the feelings and thought process inside of each character. The paragraph I will
rewrite is on page 41 and I will change the point of view from third person omniscient to first person.

What Is The Role Of Aerosol Pollution In Colorado
As a major source of water for many of the surrounding states due to the winter snow melt, Colorado
has been fighting with many contributors of water pollution. Both instate and global use of various
pollutants have contributed to the contamination or reduction of snowpack. Anthropogenic aerosol
pollution is shown to possibly be in the Colorado River Basin (CRB) along with dust particulates that
are impacting the snowpack albedo. Aerosol particles have been shown to increase concentrations of
raindrops and decrease the coalescence and collision the rims of ice particles. When these particles of
dust become coated with sulfate, warm water collision is enhanced. The aerosol pollution containing
nonorganic compounds causes a reduction of

What I Learned With My Mom And My Friend Casey
1 1. Find at least two people who lived through 9/11, and ask them to: a) describe what they remember
I spoke to my Mom and my friend Casey. My mom was three miles away in Manhattan when the first
impact happened. It shook her entire office, on the 78th floor. She immediately called my dad and got
out of the city; took a cab and paid the driver to go straight to Connecticut. She remembered watching
the TV, shocked about what had happened. There was rage, anger, and disbelief. She didn t know what
could posses someone to act in that manner. My friend Casey was living in Tribeca, 4 blocks away
from Ground Zero. He had moved into the city from New London, CT with his eMac and a video
camera to become a filmmaker on September 7th, 2001. The first impact knocked him out of bed and
onto the floor. By the time the second plane struck, he was on his bike, riding out of the city to Grand
Central Terminal. He told me that he remembered being shocked at what could have happened and
why, and how on his first couple days in the city, terror struck. b) explain how 9/11 has impacted their
lives My mom told me that this was her wake up call to get out of the city and come live in
Connecticut because she wanted to be closer to me. My dad retired when I was born, so he was taking
care of me full time, but my mom was sick of getting up at 5 and coming home at 8 in a luxury
construction business that paid well, but gave her no time to live her own

While female athletes are not often known for their flashy jewelry, many of them also have beautiful engagement rings, proving that you can be active and still enjoy gorgeous jewelry. Here are eight great engagement rings worn by some famous female athletes. Natalie Coughlin Olympic gold medalist swimmer Natalie Coughlin has been married now for more than seven years, but that does not make her ring, given to her by her husband and fellow swimmer Ethan Hall, old news. The Best Day Of My Life Essay Thinking back on an event or a day that I would entitle the best day of my life was more of a challenge because to me I feel I had so many, but there was this one day that kept haunting my brain, not letting me suppress it. The memory of my 16th birthday. Now I know you may wonder why I choose this particular day to be my top choice out my 17 years of life, but it was just something about this time that makes it different than any other ordinary day. It all started early morning on the twenty sixth day of May 2016, when my mom came into my room and sung to me the black version of the birthday song. After, listening and laughing at her belt out her high notes for a song that is primarily sung in a low to medium ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point my day could not get any better than this. Still yet, her work wasn t done! She rushed me out of the house and drove two hours and 32 minutes to be exact towards our destination, Myrtle Beach. On our ride there we did your normal car dues such as karaoke where we would assign each other s parts to sing, we even took pleasure at laughing at people s facial expressions as they passed by. There was also a point when we participated in a stoplight race, which by the way was 100 percent safe, because we just wanted to see whose car had the fastest takeoff. Now that we were just an hour away from where we were going we stopped at a little corner store on the edge of Tuberville to gas up and buy some snacks since we were getting hungry. As I was walking towards the store with $30.00 in hand, I saw a little glare from the ground. Nearing the suspicious flash, I bent down and right beside the broken glass was $200.00 ... In an interconnected world, social and economic catastrophe in one country spills over onto its neighbours (Chauvet, et al., 2007, p. 3). Failing States are often blamed for housing terrorist groups and transnational criminal enterprises, for the proliferation of small weapons, the spread of infectious disease, and endangering global energy security (Patrick, 2007; Lynch, 2016). They also account for a disproportionate amount of civil wars around the world and large number of refugee movements (Chauvet, et al., 2007). Outside countries, and agencies alike often find themselves intervening in the affairs of failing states to prevent failure from crossing boundary lines. On occasion the collapse of one administration can initiate a domino effect in neighbouring countries. The recent Arab Spring is one of the greatest examples of a spillover or domino effect in recent history (de Blij, et al., 2014). What began as an act of protest by a young Tunis man burning himself in December 2010, quickly grew into a number of public protests. A couple weeks later the Tunisian government was forced to step down and within months protests against established autocratic administration had diffused to nearby countries, and Libya, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, and Bahrain were experiencing similar public outcry (de Blij, et al., ... In Some Manner, It Would Be Strenuous To Realize All Of In some manner, it would be strenuous to realize all of the goals, such as removing distortions to international trade and promoting technological innovation and the transfer and dissemination of technology in the Preamble and other provisions. To be specific, technology transfer was introduced in article 7 of the TRIPS Agreement. Article 7 stipulates: protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights should contribute to the promotion of technological innovation and to the transfer and dissemination of technology. However, the scope and language of this provision are quite vague and extensive, whereas many formal or informal institutions, such as pre grant disclosure and post grant licensing contribute more ... Policy transparency, quality of human capital, and market size are very important factors of FDI, while the degree of IPR protection is only one of them. Failure to work a patent failure to work a patent might be discussed under the context of article 7 of the TRIPS Agreement, as Professor Gervais indicates. A number of supporters of the local working requirement argue if the patentee would be entitled to a territorial legal monopoly, she should to contribute to the development of the industry in that territory as an act of reciprocity. Nonetheless, K. McCabe explains the reason why defining the working requirement would be a burden for transnational companies. If comprehensively every country requires local working as one of the requirements for granting a patent, then exportation to a new foreign market means to establish a manufacturing facility in the country. Defining local working as a requirement therefore constitutes an unnecessary burden for a foreign patentee to build manufacturing facilities in all the signatories of TRIPS who have legislation as such. For this reason, the grounds for granting compulsory licenses should be limited to countries with a lower standard of technology ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936. The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness. The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Death severs this connection, creating a shift in how life is perceived. The strength of this is in contrast with the images of death, the funeral preparations, and how society thinks of mourning that are in the previous stanzas. The last line of the third stanza and the fourth stanza speak to the perpetual sense of loss that death has on the plane of living. In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will not be adequate at best. There is no optimism at the end of the poem; the reader is left with the very real and very hostile sense of the man s grief, since no end can be accomplished without the poet s ... Symbolism Of Power In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies Trace Draper Ms. Tantlinger Honors English 10 2 January 2018 Power can be used for the greater good, or power can be used to advance personal agenda As Golding s Lord of the Flies develops, power does also. When a group of boys are stranded on an island, the boys power shifts dramatically. The boys fight for power and savagery increases as the time on the island increases. The island was split into groups due to Jacks fiend for power, this was the cause of all evil on the island. Power on the island causes murder and great destruction. The conch is a symbol for power and order, and Ralph controls the privilege of holding the power. When Jack s character is introduced in chapter 2 he is already fighting for the power of the conch with Ralph. The conches role was very significant in early chapters to keep the boys on the same page but the power of the conch was quickly lost to Jacks uprising. Jack s power takes over him and turns him into a savage creating destruction to the whole island. They painted their faces like savages (Golding 163). Jacks way of proving himself to the rest of the island was to kill the pig. He did this not for the food but to show his dominance. Power later leads to destruction when Jack and his tribe kills Simon. Simon s role on the island was almost a spiritual figure to Ralph. He was able to inform Ralph many things about the island and how it could affect the group of boys. Jack had no remorse after the killing and made it seem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Three Main Factors Leading To The Fall Of Mayan Civilizations Mayan civilization, as one of the most dominant indigenous societies throughout the history, has never been forgotten either by historians or normal people. With its vigorous development, an era of Golden Age began during the Classic Period. However, once untouchable, Mayan civilization crashed in such a short time as if it had never appeared before. The collapse of Mayan civilization is like a mystery for historians today, so they never give up searching for evidence that caused the dramatic reversal in history. Since there was not a decisive cause led to the fall of Mayan civilization, three main factors possibly could bring about the Maya collapse contemporarily: drought, warfare between city states, and overpopulation. Foremost, drought plays a dominant role in leading to the fall of Mayan civilization. Drought has always been connected with a part of extinction because the living environment is one of the most crucial points for survival. Also this story main focuses on her and her action. Which can be seen when Sadoko is described as being vibrant and athletic and we know on page 32 and toward the end you can see her hard work never ended when she still continued to make paper cranes even after her condition worsened. In conclusion, I feel these ways because Sadoko s spirit and many character traits stand strong. Point Of View Paragraph: The point of view of this story is third person omniscient because we are able to understand the feelings and thought process inside of each character.
