Like Fallen Crest High series, you have your crazy high school type of dramas, then like Carter, this

I thought this book started out strong, everything I like about Tijan s book were there, but then the

This article titled Peer Assisted Study Sessions and Student Performance: The Role of Academic
Engagement, Student Identity, and Statistics Self Efficacy is written by three PhD candidates at
Griffith University who are conducting a study on new freshman students and their transition. This
study was based on the quantitative constructivist approach. It was done using both cross sectional and
longitudinal design to determine the effects of Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) on student
performance outcomes.
PASS is a voluntary student lead preventative intervention for difficult and demanding tertiary
courses. The authors demonstrated the impact of the relationship between peer academic engagement
and its effects on student s identity, attendance and their belief of self efficacy. The outcome of their
findings demonstrated that students who participated in the PASS study had increased self efficacy
and increased confidence in their performance academically, in comparison to their first semester of
college. The authors explained that there were limitations the results of their cross sectional design did
not accurately reflect the full effects those who participated in the PASS study. Other participants such
as tutorials and lectures were not included and therefore it was recommended further exploration using
the longitudinal framework.

their cages and making sure they are well fed. She also lets them out of their cage sometimes to play
and get exercise.
When asked why the Cat Network is needed in our community she says that South Florida is currently
dealing with a massive overpopulation of stray cats. This overpopulation has continued to expand in
size and will only get worse through the years. Stray cats live hard and dangerous lives in the streets
and their lives can get even worse if they get pregnant. Cats can get pregnant the moment they turn 4
months, meaning they can give birth when they re only 6 months old. And cats don t just have one or

the sculpture of The Lansdowne Athlete, by Lysippos, Rome 340 330 B.C. marble after a bronze
original, that I viewed at the LACMA. This sculpture is located in the left wing of Greek exhibition
Building, 3rd floor. I selected this sculpture as an example of an idealized body. Therefore, I will be
explaining the historical background of the sculpture and address why I think it would make a good
addition to our text. I will provide an analogy with other sculpture of idealized body from our
textbook chapter 12 on Mind and Body mainly. I will impart more information about the essence of
idealized human form as well as cultural ideals during this time period in Greece.
The Lansdowne Athlete at the LACMA is an example of a well developed ideal body and carefully
controlled proportions to all body parts. This sculpture is a Roman copy of an original by Lysippos
made in the 1st century. It is a marble statue of 75 inches in height. The figure is in the contrapposto
stance common of the style at the time and is taking a step forward. The figure still has integrity even
though it has a few missing parts. Its face, which is important, is more or less intact and the standing
upright with its impression of movement still visible. The missing arms, if they were restored would
not add much to the sculpture and the addition of these parts will not be worth the loss of authenticity.
Visiting LACMA for many years, I never noticed that ancient art has been disbanded, I was surprised!
The Greek and Roman sculptures now stand in the galleries of European art. The ancient statues and
vases are now part of the post antique paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts of the European Art.
From my skepticism, however, I have completely converted to the curators way of thinking: the

The ionic frieze of the Parthenon was considered by the Italian traveler and antiquarian Cyriac of
Ancona as one of the noblest images of the Parthenon. The ionic frieze measures some 160 meters, or
524 feet, and is visible along the upper walls of the cella in addition to across the two porches. Cyriac
was one of the first individuals to have sketched the figures on the frieze. The subject of the ionic
frieze according to Cyriac was the victories of the Athenians . The Doric frieze of the Parthenon in the
past presented 92 polychromatic carvings. The building upon which the frieze was built in the ionic
style was Doric. The two styles of design do not mesh, and did not occur at simultaneous periods in
history, making the presence of the ionic frieze something of a mystery. The general meaning of the
frieze at large, comprised of many parts, has thereby been drawn into question. While the frieze in in
superior condition than other elements of the Parthenon, such as the metopes, pediments, and

with some ground rules like leave the door open, only when parents are home and a time limit, he

The figure is in the contrapposto stance common of the style at the time and is taking a step forward. The figure still has integrity even though it has a few missing parts.
