Suicide In The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible is found to be by far the most outsold book than any book ever written. It is the most
read manuscript in the world. The Bible is comprised of sixty six books of the Old and New
Testaments. It is the foundation for Christianity in that the Bible contains the words of God. This Holy
Book has many and different types of passages that include laws, poetry, prophecy, parables and
letters all to create vivid interpretations of how to apply God s word to everyday life. While there are
many people who question the contents of this Book, one of the most controversial subjects remains to
be that of suicide. There are over sixty scriptures in the Bible regarding the subject of suicide or that
speak about God s perspective on the body (Smith...). There are also seven instances where the actual
people in the Bible commit suicide ( Seven...). Emile Durkheim, a 19th century sociologist, developed
a dynamic style of combining experiential research with sociological theory. He used his results to
prove that the causes of suicide were to be found in social factors and not individual personalities. His
four categories of suicide can be used to help identify the social issues during the Bible days that ...

Originally, Judas, also known as Judas Iscariot, was one of Jesus twelve disciples. Ultimately, he was
lured by money to join another group whose only goal was to kill Jesus. Judas purpose changed, and it
was now to fulfill the goal of his new association. However, when he realized his disloyalty and that
Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. He attempted to return the money to the
priest and elders, but they wouldn t accept it. As a result, Judas went out and hung himself. Durkheim
reveals this type of suicide as being Altruistic Suicide. This type of suicide happens when a group or
society has very influential power over individuals.

Man Vs. Society In The Sociology Of Leopard Man
Man VS Society
Living in society, we are under constant pressure to surrender our individuality to the will of the
majority, the school, the workplace, the family, etc. (Feys, P.6). Logan Feys, the author of The
Sociology of Leopard Man , states that society is persistently under pressure to change our individual
likings, personality, change the way we look, etc. to feel accepted and approved by society. The desire
to fit in and not be an outsider with social groups causes people to feel pressured and change
themselves to fit in. Fey s statement is correct that people conform with society to not be an outsider
or avoid the fear of possibly being an outsider.
Most people will change themselves and conform to fit in with the groups of people they want to be
apart of. The pressure of society causes people to form themselves into someone that they believe that
others would like and accept them. Logan Feys states, They may call themselves non conformists, but
most antisocial freaks, in their obsession with displaying their freakishness, are just as dependent on
others opinions as approval seeking socialites. (Feys, P. 2). This quote claims that not everyone
changes for society s requirements and that being a freak is similar to people changing for people s
approval. There s also those people that don t follow society s requirements and be themselves, non
conformists. Non conformist are people that live for their individuality and their own choices. Non
conformists

Guglielmo Marconi s Impact On Society
Hello, everyone, I m Jacob Ellis, reporting for WBUC. In the entire scope of broadcasting very many
people had a very large impact, but no one had more of a lasting impact than the father of wireless,
Guglielmo Marconi. Marconi created the largest piece in the puzzle that created broadcasting. Without
his invention, our life would be completely different than it is today. We wouldn t have Radios,
Televisions, Phones, WiFi, etc. All of the modern forms of wireless came from Marconi s original
form of wireless and were created because of his original invention. His wireless was mainly used for
radio but wasn t strong enough to be broadcasted very far which led people to find ways to better the
transmission of wireless devices, leading them to create new forms of wireless, ... Show more content

Even though Marconi s invention was used very much for communication, a big part of it was
entertainment. Wireless was used for radio at first but when television was invented people began to
see even more and more uses for wireless. Wireless allowed people to get local TV stations using
nothing but a Television and an antenna, allowing almost anyone to own and watch TV. This lead to
many television events being seen by millions of people. An example of this was the Kennedy
assassination. Since wireless allowed almost anyone, anywhere to own a tv, millions of Americans
were able to get the news very quickly that Kennedy had been shot and it allowed them to grieve with
the rest of the United States. Another way that wireless affected people was communication. Wireless
allowed people to communicate over long distances, so people were able to share information without
wires and telegraph stations, and in places that couldn t have wires. This proved itself as very helpful

Frankenstein Chapter 2 Dialectical Journal
Winnie sighed. She had been waiting for Mr. Scamander to come back for a few hours. The minute he
had left, she started wandering around, looking at the beautiful, strange creatures around her. But she
began to get bored. Not that anyone could get bored of these animals, each one was as fantastic as the
one before. She was bored because she was a people person, and she had no one to talk to, unless you
counted the jarvey, which Winnie certainly did not. So after a few minutes, she found her way back to
the room she had originally fallen into. She sat right beside the ladder, glancing up every few minutes,
hoping that he would come. She didn t know how long it took to get to Saint Pierre, but she imagined
it couldn t be longer than half a day. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

more students, all from different regions, and all graduating the same year as I am, us all coming to
Disneyland to have just one more night of fun before they set foot into the world of life. I have not
been to Disneyland in a long time, the last time I was at Disneyland was when I was about ten or so, I

and go as many times as we can within the times we were allowed to go, because they did have
blackout dates, and when we went, We Had a Ball.

Literary Analysis Of Dulce Et Decorum Est
In early history, Soldiers going off to fight in war seemed brave and fearless. It was always seen as an
honor to serve in your country s army. However, in Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, through
the depictions of an actual battle, it is shown that those feelings are not actually present during war.
The genre of the poem is war. In fact is very much propaganda against war. After the events of World
War 1, Owen did not see the necessity of war in witnessing all the suffering it caused. The very title of
the poem Dulce et Decorum est can be translated as , It is sweet and proper to die for the fatherland. It
is now commonly referred to as the old lie because the saying is very old and commonly used but can
not really be seen as true. Though the title is titled as such, the meaning of the poem actually argues
against the phrase. In the poem, there is nothing fearless or glorious about the soldiers in the war. All
of the language that was in the poem has a very negative connotation. The words used like, beggars ,
lame , blind , deaf , clumsy, helpless ,and more show that the men are very discombobulated and are in
fact suffering. There is a lot of death and chaos occurring. The phrase is referred to as the old lie
because how can one see the horrors of war and still tell people and young children that it is honorable
and glorious to fight and die for one s country. At first glance. one would assume that Owen utilizes
Iambic Pentameter in his poem. However, there is no

Essay on Honor in Richard II
The Importance of Honor in Richard II
The tension charged exchange between Bolingbroke and Mowbray in the first scenes of Richard II
provides exciting action for the audience, and gives a glimpse into trial by combat and the importance
of honor in Shakespeare s plays. Trial by combat, or a judicial duel was a traditional way to settle
disputes in England and Europe for many generations. People dueled to defend their own honor, and
to prove personal claims against the honor of others. Honor. Honor is the accumulation of virtuous
deeds that instills a respect in others and in you. Possessing, seeking, and defending the elusive trait of
honor are crucial elements of Richard II.

in Council 29). Are we to belief that honor is an instinct or inborn trait that magically appears? To the
Elizabethan audience, birthright would still initially guarantee honor, and respect for a noble, honor
that could be lost if it was not maintained or if the gentleman s good name became dirtied. Mowbray
despairs over his lost honor, I am disgraced, impeached, and baffled here,/Pierced to the soul with
slander s venomed spear (Richard II 1.1.170 171). Honor, being an extremely important commodity in
Elizabethan England, was something to fight over.
In Richard II, Mowbray and Bolingbroke are set to have a judicial duel to the death. The duel is
judicial because the winner, the survivor, is credited with being true and virtuous. The loser, in death,
forfeits claims to honor and innocence. They have told Richard their charges against their rivals, and
are prepared to defend their honor, and innocence through personal combat. Their honor, their
accumulation of virtuous deeds, has been soiled by the accusations brought against them. Slanderous
comments and claims were not to go unheeded; in fact, Mowbray and Bolingbroke refuse to throw
their gages up to King Richard and settle their quarrel peacefully. Mowbray pleads with Richard to be
allowed to prove his innocence and defend his honor:
Mine honor is my life, both grow in one;
Take honor from me, and my life is done;
Then, dear liege, mine honor let me try;

Julian Informative Speech
We know so little. There are so few facts recorded, we don t even know her name but I can tell you we
know her impact and can feel her work stretching through decades and centuries to continue to inspire
and shape the lives of people today. This is Julian of Norwich.
Julian was born in 1342 in Norwich, England and spent most of her life as an anchorite, a recluse
living alone in an closed room attached to the parish church of St Julian of LeMans at Conisford in
Norwich. Though few biographic details are known about Julian, it is likely she came from a wealth
family as anchoresses had to prove they could support themselves through some form of income
before they could be enclosed. Julian s name could have been her baptism name or she may have
followed the custom of taking the name of the saint attached to the church of which she became an
anchorite.
Julian recognised her need for deeper love and knowledge of Christ and appealed to God, asking for
three things. Firstly she prayed for revelations so she could gain a greater understanding of Christ s
passion. Secondly she asked for a near death experience which would allow her to experience all that
a body and soul could including the last rites but survive. Allowing her to live a more consecrated life
being more mindful of God. Julian s final request was for three wounds ... Show more content on

Example Of A Talk Show
Defining what talk shows are can be a very challenging task. The OED defines the talk show as
following:
A chat show, especially one in which listeners, viewers, or the studio audience are invited to
participate in the discussion. (OED)
However, talk shows have become very popular in recent times and represent a rapidly changing
hybrid media phenomena. According to Ilie, they display intertextuality through overlaps with other
mediatized forms of talk, and they endlessly reconstruct themselves by violating and transgressing
their own discursive conventions. (2006:489). Talk shows do not represent only one form of
communication and social behavior, but they use different ways to converse and interview their
guests. More than one type of discourse is used within talk shows. Many talk shows combine different
discourses such as the discourses used in debates, game shows, debates, interviews and quiz shows
(cf. Ilie, 2006:489). It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Life Changing Moment In Life
When reminiscing on my past I m able to recall the certain moments, which have led to a path where I
find myself at a cross road. Searching through the databases of my mind, I m reminded of cherished
memories, though I attempt to pinpoint the times in which I have been successful in my decision
making; I cannot help but deliberate whether my past conveyed such a challenging decision. My
future is unpredictable, and my choices will decide my prolonged existence; positive or negative I
must act on them now, or else I will miss the train to my forthcoming. Through the life changing
moments, which led to my admiration for the ones close to me; I have found what identifies me as an
individual. Nonetheless, will it be enough for the rapid pace at which my future emerges?
Life changing, it s a term to identify an event that will forever transform someone, and the life they are
currently living; sounds self explanatory, though it isn t such a simple phrase. Considering the
expression; life changing is watching a friend fight cancer, battling each day not knowing if she will
get better. Moreover, Parents who are combating a recession, struggling to generate money with the
profession they find themselves in; moving from house to house trying to stay joyful to a child who
may not identify the extent of the situation. Trails such as these have caused my life to be significantly
altered. However, these events are only a minor fraction of my narrative. For instance, I ve helped lead
a movement against bullying, being triumphant with the results. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to
represent my school at a World Leadership Conference, being able to express heartache, happiness,
and love to individuals, some who have experienced horrible tragedies, was such an eye opening
experience. These events in my life have erupt a fire in my soul, and striving to build upon each
situation will only be beneficial for my future endeavors.
Reflecting these life changing moments, I come to a realization that not all memories are so
influential, but more of a comforting feeling. My family vacations to Walt Disney World helped bring
imagination and inspiration inside of a young boy s mind. Playing on my childhood play set in our

Corinth, Greece in 2012. The amphora demonstrates life in Ancient Greece such as trading
arrangements between other empires influencing Ancient Grecian artists and objects. The amphora
represents the Oriental period, occurring in 700 620 BCE. This is evident as illustrations of
mythological animals and cartoon figures decorate all Oriental amphorae. The amphora is separated
into three partitions, with three mythological animals in two segments and the bottom segment having
figures offering food up to the mythological animals. The animals are decorated in patterns, coloured
in darker tones. Patterns decorate the handles and the base of the amphora,

Authorization is the act of checking to determine if a user has the proper permission to access a file or
perform an action, after the user has properly identified themselves through authentication
(Username/Password). Authorization is provided to users based on a job requirement or a need to
know that allows them to access the required material. Authorization is usually determined when a
user first gains access to a system but may change over time. If a change occurs that requires more or
less authorization for a particular employee, the concerned supervisor should contact the appropriate
authority to make the change.
2. Identification:
Identification is the means through which a user is associated with and gains access to an account. The
most common form of identification in use with computer systems is through the use of a username.
Other systems use Common Access Cards (CAC), smart cards, or tokens combined with a pin code
that allow for access to a system. More complex, high security systems might use some form of
biometric to associate a user with an account and permission set. Biometrics include: fingerprint, iris

The Half Truth Of First Mover Advantage
The Half Truth of First Mover Advantage
The first mover advantage is defined as a firm s ability to be better off than its competitors as a result
of being the first to market in a new product category. This concept is accepted without questioning or
objecting it, a great amount of mangers believe that be incorporating this status will increase their
competitive advantage and obtaining a great part of the market share. There are executives that believe
that the first mover is a great advantage that will make their business succeed in every industry that
they enter, the case is that there are many scientific refutals of this method because not every firm has
the same sources as others, and the market and technology change differently, plus we must include
other different factors. The research in this article found situations in which companies are successful
with the first mover method, but also found situations where firms need different sources and
sometimes are unsuccessful. In the article, we found two factors that influence greatly the first mover
s success, this factors are:
The pace at which the technology of the product is evolving
The pace at which the market for the product is expanding
By, knowing this factors we can create a strategy in competing in the market depending on these
factors, after doing this we could distinguish between the long term advantage which can increase a

joke because the watch shares its initials with the N.W.A rap group. That group tries to appeal to the
younger generation whereas the film s N.W.A does not. The watch would also rather get the youth
drunk, illegally, in a pub rather than let them roam the streets. During the 2000 s in Britain, the youth
was being seen more and more as a nuisance to the older generations. The children, though, help to
foil the plan of the older generation making them seem a little like the Mystery Inc. from Scooby doo.
While the children did break minor laws, they

Weaknesses:
Skechers has been unable to fully dominate any market shares among footwear segments. This is
because the shoe brand has been trying to appeal to too many demographics. Skechers does not have a
large market share in athletic shoes because it splits its target markets into too many niches.
Opportunities:
There is a lot of opportunity to emerge into e commerce retail within the footwear industry. In 2015,
global footwear e commerce sales accounted for 12% of total global footwear sales and is expected to

Ode To The West Wind Essay
Theme : Inspiration in amp;#8220;Ode to the West Wind ;
amp;#8220;When composition begins, inspiration is already on the decline ; P. B. Shelley
Shelley deals with the theme of inspiration in much of his work. However it is particularly apparent in
amp;#8216;Ode to the West Wind amp;#8217; where the wind is the source of his creativity. The
cycles of death and rebirth are examined in an historical context with reference to The Bible. The
word inspiration has several connotations that Shelley uses in this amp;#8216;Ode amp;#8217;.

Coupled with the elusiveness of the wind to the human eye the effect is that the wind is an
amp;#8220;uncontrollable ; power that cannot be contained. In the fifth stanza Shelley refers to
amp;#8220;the incantation of this verse ;(l.65) this is of pagan origins and he is invoking the wind to
work through him. As a magician the wind works it amp;#8217;s magic throughout nature and it
knows no bounds as the earth, water and air all feel it amp;#8217;s power. The imagery associated
with this suggests that Shelley expected his work to also spread over the universe, like the wind, and
inspire others just as the wind was an inspiration to him. The amp;#8220;dead thoughts ; he refers to
could be the words he has written down that die as soon as they are recorded. Although not the source
of his inspiration others could read them and experience what he felt in that wood that skirts the Arno.
In the tradition of the sublime this description acts as a denial of sense perception and it is associated
with an object of pure thought an unknown power that animates all life. The wind is, therefore, seen as
a spirit because of its lack of being. This spirit can only be known by it amp;#8217;s effects and we
see those in the first stanza as amp;#8220;the leaves dead / Are driven amp;#8230; to their wintry bed
;(ll. 2,3,6). The wind amp;#8217;s role is to spread the dead leaves and this enables the seeds to spread

My Motorcycle Wreck
All my life I have been around motorcycles. My father used to let me ride on the back with him when
I was a young child. I remember the feeling that I would get when he would accelerate. As soon as I
could touch the ground, I owned a dirt bike. I used to love going fast and wheeling down the road for
the neighborhood girls to see. We used to spend hours working on bikes together. That is when I
started to become obsessed with motorcycles.
January 31st, 2016 is the day that I got my first motorcycle. It was the day my fiancé and I were
moving to Jacksonville, Florida. We drove for about twenty minutes, until I got a call from my cousin.
He said, Cody I will trade my motorcycle for your car. So, we met in the Walmart parking lot in Hot
Springs Village, Arkansas. When he pulled up with the motorcycle, I was excited. Then, I took a joy
ride around the parking lot. I could not believe I finally could have my own motorcycle. I traded my
car with a bad transmission for the bike. We were barely able to pick the back of the bike up to get it
in the U Haul truck. When we got here the movers had beat us here, and were waiting impatiently. So,
when we opened the back of the truck and they saw my heavy motorcycle they were thrilled.
Five months later, I have been living here for a little while now and driving my motorcycle
everywhere has become normal for me. One night, I was on my way to work at the nursing home. I

Compare And Contrast Jekyll And Frankenstein
One way that this double personality is represented in both Shelley s novel and Stevenson s novella is
through the theme of isolation. Both of them have main characters who are disregarded by society but
who also isolate themselves in order to maintain the secret that they are trying to disguise; the fact that
they have immorality in their human nature as well as morality. This is particularly present in the
character of Victor in Frankenstein. He chooses to isolate himself, firstly at the university in
Ingolstadt, when he avoids all contact he can with his family so as to work on the Monster. Later, he
neglects Elizabeth (his cousin and most caring companion) out of fear she will discover his secret. He

Where Dr Jekyll and Victor Frankenstein are characters who isolate themselves from society more
than anything else, Hyde is a solid, living form consisting purely of Jekyll s immorality, and is
rejected from society evenwithout any isolation on his part. It is clear from the moment he is first
mentioned in chapter 1, in the conversation between Utterson and Enfield, that he is not someone that
is going to be well liked in the story, especially when Enfield describes Hyde as if there is something
wrong with his appearance; something displeasing, something downright detestable. I never saw a
man I so disliked. Just from this one conversation it soon becomes clear that society has shut this man
out, particularly when it is revealed that the doctors and everyone in the crowd around the trampled
girl in the story feels the same way Enfield does, as if they want to kill him . The treatment of the
Monster in Frankenstein is also very similar to Hyde s as they were both set around the same time
period and the views of immorality were roughly the same, if not worse in Shelley s earlier

Flat Roof Conversion
Flat Roof Conversion Many first time home owners and those on a limited budget choose to construct
their new home with a flat roofing system, because of the low materials cost, installation price, and
ease of DIY roof repair and maintenance. However, flat roofing systems are more susceptible to water
damage, punctures, and other damage that makes regular roof repair an unfortunate reality. Until the
last decade or so, which has seen the introduction of incredibly strong and durable synthetic materials
such as EPMD and PVC onto the market, most flat roofs were constructed using tar, gravel, and sheet
metal, which while effective, have problems with durability and whose look is simply not associated
with traditional residential buildings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is important to keep in mind if you plan on selling your home within the next few years, as this
may not be the best investment if that is the case. However, if you are planning on staying in your
home for a decade or more and are set on converting to a pitched roof, the impact on your home s
value may not be as important of a consideration. Weak Support System One of the benefits, and
potential weaknesses, of a flat roof is the fact that it requires a much less robust support structure to
keep the roof in place. However, many roofing contractors will then create a less than ideal roofing
structure which can degrade quickly and become a threat to the integrity of your home. If you
regularly hear creaking or movement in your home s flat roof structure, you may be in need of a costly
roof repair project. If this is the case, it may make sense for you to go ahead and install a pitched roof
at that time.

Phar-Mor Case Study
Phar Mor was operated as an American discounted drug and variety store opening its first doors in
Youngstown, Ohio in 1982. It came to be when the heir to Giant Eagle; David Shapira and the former
Tamarkin VP Michael Monus established the well known drug store. (Press 1996) Between the years
1985 1992 it expanded from 15 to 310 stores in 34 different states and the sales of the stores at hit
virtually $1.5 billion dollars. The low priced drugs and all of the different locations of the stories were
the reason the public was so attracted to the countrywide company. (Gilpin 1993) The five hundred
million dollars in fraud led the company to bankruptcy. Top management and auditor members were
convicted of the big scandal.
Tamco was formally known as a private grocery store chain named Tamarkin Co. Tamco had a big
role in the scandal. (Press 1996) Their relationship to Phar Mor was Tamco shipped orders for Phar
Mor yet only sending half of the orders while Phar Mor was paying the full bill. Phar Mor was being
billed for inventory that it did not receive and after the fraud case was out in the public they had to
shut down a lot of stores to cover up the companies losses. (UNITED STATES v. MONUS 1997)
Giant Eagle paid Phar Mor seven million dollars on behalf of Tamco. They did not know this at the
time because Tamco did not retain records of logging shipments to companies. Giant Eagle later sold
Tamco to Phar Mor so there was no more inventory and billing issues. The

The History And Culture Of English Literature
The history and culture of English literature are profound in the literary writings from the beginning of
the Periods of Old English, Middle English, Elizabethan, Romantic, and the Modern. All of these
periods are named purposely by intellectual, political movements, historical events, and artistic styles
that are evident in the literary writings during their respective timeframes. As an example, it is during
the Old English Period (Anglo Saxon) where the English language is born. The epic poem Beowulf is
for certain the most influential literary work of this period and possess national epic status in England.
The poem Beowulf draws on Christianity to change the pre conversion myth by elucidating the many
things that cannot be explained by science or the laws of nature, including things characteristic of or
relating to ghosts, gods, or things beyond nature, turning into a lesson on faith. Adversely, it is the
Middle English period where the influence of Norman language (drawn from the French Romance
language), culture and literature take shape. This period starts with the Norman invasion in 1066,
where we learn of a woman in the federal aristocracy, marriage viewed as a political act and the
introduction of courtly love. It is mysticism and magic that plays a role in the analysis of ideas and
stories of the Catholic belief during the Middle English Period which is evident in the literary works
of Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. A historically

  • 2. Suicide In The Holy Bible The Holy Bible is found to be by far the most outsold book than any book ever written. It is the most read manuscript in the world. The Bible is comprised of sixty six books of the Old and New Testaments. It is the foundation for Christianity in that the Bible contains the words of God. This Holy Book has many and different types of passages that include laws, poetry, prophecy, parables and letters all to create vivid interpretations of how to apply God s word to everyday life. While there are many people who question the contents of this Book, one of the most controversial subjects remains to be that of suicide. There are over sixty scriptures in the Bible regarding the subject of suicide or that speak about God s perspective on the body (Smith...). There are also seven instances where the actual people in the Bible commit suicide ( Seven...). Emile Durkheim, a 19th century sociologist, developed a dynamic style of combining experiential research with sociological theory. He used his results to prove that the causes of suicide were to be found in social factors and not individual personalities. His four categories of suicide can be used to help identify the social issues during the Bible days that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Man Vs. Society In The Sociology Of Leopard Man Man VS Society Living in society, we are under constant pressure to surrender our individuality to the will of the majority, the school, the workplace, the family, etc. (Feys, P.6). Logan Feys, the author of The Sociology of Leopard Man , states that society is persistently under pressure to change our individual likings, personality, change the way we look, etc. to feel accepted and approved by society. The desire to fit in and not be an outsider with social groups causes people to feel pressured and change themselves to fit in. Fey s statement is correct that people conform with society to not be an outsider or avoid the fear of possibly being an outsider. Most people will change themselves and conform to fit in with the groups of people they want to be apart of. The pressure of society causes people to form themselves into someone that they believe that others would like and accept them. Logan Feys states, They may call themselves non conformists, but most antisocial freaks, in their obsession with displaying their freakishness, are just as dependent on others opinions as approval seeking socialites. (Feys, P. 2). This quote claims that not everyone changes for society s requirements and that being a freak is similar to people changing for people s approval. There s also those people that don t follow society s requirements and be themselves, non conformists. Non conformist are people that live for their individuality and their own choices. • 4. Guglielmo Marconi s Impact On Society Hello, everyone, I m Jacob Ellis, reporting for WBUC. In the entire scope of broadcasting very many people had a very large impact, but no one had more of a lasting impact than the father of wireless, Guglielmo Marconi. Marconi created the largest piece in the puzzle that created broadcasting. Without his invention, our life would be completely different than it is today. We wouldn t have Radios, Televisions, Phones, WiFi, etc. All of the modern forms of wireless came from Marconi s original form of wireless and were created because of his original invention. His wireless was mainly used for radio but wasn t strong enough to be broadcasted very far which led people to find ways to better the transmission of wireless devices, leading them to create new forms of wireless, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though Marconi s invention was used very much for communication, a big part of it was entertainment. Wireless was used for radio at first but when television was invented people began to see even more and more uses for wireless. Wireless allowed people to get local TV stations using nothing but a Television and an antenna, allowing almost anyone to own and watch TV. This lead to many television events being seen by millions of people. An example of this was the Kennedy assassination. Since wireless allowed almost anyone, anywhere to own a tv, millions of Americans were able to get the news very quickly that Kennedy had been shot and it allowed them to grieve with the rest of the United States. Another way that wireless affected people was communication. Wireless allowed people to communicate over long distances, so people were able to share information without wires and telegraph stations, and in places that couldn t have wires. • 6. Frankenstein Chapter 2 Dialectical Journal Winnie sighed. She had been waiting for Mr. Scamander to come back for a few hours. The minute he had left, she started wandering around, looking at the beautiful, strange creatures around her. But she began to get bored. Not that anyone could get bored of these animals, each one was as fantastic as the one before. She was bored because she was a people person, and she had no one to talk to, unless you counted the jarvey, which Winnie certainly did not. So after a few minutes, she found her way back to the room she had originally fallen into. She sat right beside the ladder, glancing up every few minutes, hoping that he would come. She didn t know how long it took to get to Saint Pierre, but she imagined it couldn t be longer than half a day. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not that I m not enjoying this, it s just that I can t disappear without a trace, Florence would worry, she said. Actually, um, yes. There s a boat leaving in two days, he said. But you can telephone them before that. Winnie was relieved. She didn t really want to leave Newt and his suitcase, but she knew that she needed to talk to Florence and William, and let them know where she was. That s a huge relief, thank you, she said, and Newt nodded and smiled. This may sound odd, she began. But I m glad I fell into your suitcase. If I hadn t, I think today would have been a lot more dull. Newt didn t really know how to respond. Nothing like this had happened before. I have not been to Disneyland in a long time, the last time I was at Disneyland was when I was about ten or so, I think, or when the annual passes were cheap. • 8. Literary Analysis Of Dulce Et Decorum Est In early history, Soldiers going off to fight in war seemed brave and fearless. It was always seen as an honor to serve in your country s army. However, in Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, through the depictions of an actual battle, it is shown that those feelings are not actually present during war. The genre of the poem is war. In fact is very much propaganda against war. After the events of World War 1, Owen did not see the necessity of war in witnessing all the suffering it caused. The very title of the poem Dulce et Decorum est can be translated as , It is sweet and proper to die for the fatherland. It is now commonly referred to as the old lie because the saying is very old and commonly used but can not really be seen as true. Though the title is titled as such, the meaning of the poem actually argues against the phrase. In the poem, there is nothing fearless or glorious about the soldiers in the war. All of the language that was in the poem has a very negative connotation. The words used like, beggars , lame , blind , deaf , clumsy, helpless ,and more show that the men are very discombobulated and are in fact suffering. There is a lot of death and chaos occurring. The phrase is referred to as the old lie because how can one see the horrors of war and still tell people and young children that it is honorable and glorious to fight and die for one s country. At first glance. one would assume that Owen utilizes Iambic Pentameter in his poem. However, there is no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on Honor in Richard II The Importance of Honor in Richard II The tension charged exchange between Bolingbroke and Mowbray in the first scenes of Richard II provides exciting action for the audience, and gives a glimpse into trial by combat and the importance of honor in Shakespeare s plays. Trial by combat, or a judicial duel was a traditional way to settle disputes in England and Europe for many generations. People dueled to defend their own honor, and to prove personal claims against the honor of others. Honor. Honor is the accumulation of virtuous deeds that instills a respect in others and in you. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... in Council 29). Are we to belief that honor is an instinct or inborn trait that magically appears? To the Elizabethan audience, birthright would still initially guarantee honor, and respect for a noble, honor that could be lost if it was not maintained or if the gentleman s good name became dirtied. Mowbray despairs over his lost honor, I am disgraced, impeached, and baffled here,/Pierced to the soul with slander s venomed spear (Richard II 1.1.170 171). Honor, being an extremely important commodity in Elizabethan England, was something to fight over. In Richard II, Mowbray and Bolingbroke are set to have a judicial duel to the death. The duel is judicial because the winner, the survivor, is credited with being true and virtuous. The loser, in death, forfeits claims to honor and innocence. They have told Richard their charges against their rivals, and are prepared to defend their honor, and innocence through personal combat. • 32. Flat Roof Conversion Flat Roof Conversion Many first time home owners and those on a limited budget choose to construct their new home with a flat roofing system, because of the low materials cost, installation price, and ease of DIY roof repair and maintenance. However, flat roofing systems are more susceptible to water damage, punctures, and other damage that makes regular roof repair an unfortunate reality. Until the last decade or so, which has seen the introduction of incredibly strong and durable synthetic materials such as EPMD and PVC onto the market, most flat roofs were constructed using tar, gravel, and sheet metal, which while effective, have problems with durability and whose look is simply not associated with traditional residential buildings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is important to keep in mind if you plan on selling your home within the next few years, as this may not be the best investment if that is the case. However, if you are planning on staying in your home for a decade or more and are set on converting to a pitched roof, the impact on your home s value may not be as important of a consideration. Weak Support System One of the benefits, and potential weaknesses, of a flat roof is the fact that it requires a much less robust support structure to keep the roof in place. However, many roofing contractors will then create a less than ideal roofing structure which can degrade quickly and become a threat to the integrity of your home. If you regularly hear creaking or movement in your home s flat roof structure, you may be in need of a costly roof repair project. If this is the case, it may make sense for you to go ahead and install a pitched roof at that time. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
