The Process Of Producing Nuclear Energy From Thorium
This essay focuses on the process of producing nuclear energy from thorium. First, basic information
about the element is covered as well as its uses up until the present. Next, the history of thorium
energy is covered, including details of previous successful studies and experiments. This is
supplemented with a detailed explanation of the benefits and drawbacks of thorium energy, and this is
immediately followed by a brief explanation of the chemistry behind the technology. Finally, the
future of the thorium energy is discussed, along with a few examples of companies, governments, and
organizations which are currently researching and promoting the concept.

Things are starting to turn around for thorium though, as people are beginning to realize that thorium
power offers cleaner, more powerful, and safer energy than anything humanity has ever known before,
and they are beginning to take action to make thorium more widely known as an important
prospective energy source. Fig. 1. Thorium Element. Digital image. Periodictable.com.

Thorium is a silvery radioactive metal which was discovered in 1828 and is relatively common in
nature (see fig. 1) (World Nuclear Association). According to the World Nuclear Association, thorium
is about three times more abundant than uranium; an average average soil sample contains about 3ppm
thorium, making the element about as common as lead. In nature, thorium occurs only as Th 232,
which has a half life of about 3 times the age of the earth (World Nuclear Association). Thorium has
found use in the past in some objects such as light bulbs, lantern mantels, and some ceramics as
thorium oxide because of its exceptionally high melting point (see fig. 2) (World Nuclear Association).
Estimates show there are over 6 million metric tons of thorium worldwide, which could be extracted at
a profitable rate, making the element a viable candidate for nuclear energy production (OECD). In
fact, thorium was even being researched as a

Somebody Nobody- Comic Play
Somebody Nobody
Somebody Nobody was a comical play, I wish it was longer because as you go along it starts to get
more in depth. When it got to the end of the play I did not realize it, felt like I wanted to know the
afterlife of Loli and Sheena s friendship. Did Sheena and Joe Don stay together? Did Galaxy (bigger
than the stars) get fired?
Loli s character portrayed that she was energetic and she decided to better her life by moving to a
different state to start a new life. Despite what Loli went through she tried her best to keep a positive
attitude. Loli s voice inflection was excellent from when she spoke with Mr. Johnston stating that she
lost her job she seemed hopeless. When she answered the phone speaking to her mother she sounded
disappointed that her mother wanted her to move back home to Flatt Kansas. To the time she was
excited that Sheena Keener was at her door step. As for Sheena Kenner s character, I viewed her as
uppity though she was a B List Celebrity. I admire her for telling the story as she gazed off into the
audience, it made me wonder what she was looking at so I visualized as she spoke. As Sheen was
acting I seen that she used a lot of hand gestures when she has an attitude or so called sass.
Loli and Sheena were the opposite of each other but they turned that into a friendship. I think they
both build themselves off from one another so the character s relationship will have a strong
foundation. I think Sheena taught Loli how to get out of her shell

Atlanta Exposition Address Summary
In the article Atlanta Exposition Address Booker T. Washington was addressing the topic of mutual
progress for the nation, which he believed could only be achieved by cooperation between blacks and
whites. He asked for his race to cast down your bucket where you are. What Mr. Washington meant by
this was that he wanted for the blacks to use the resources right in front of them; to become friends
with the whites around them. If they did, the blacks would be able to create for themselves better lives
and better job opportunities. Most blacks could not start at the top of the economical ladder, but had to
start at the bottom and work their way to the top. While some blacks could take the higher ranking
jobs, the majority had to rely on manual

The General System Theory For Understanding Modern...
The shift of research and theory models went through a major shift during the 1960s and 1970s when
the open systems perspective gained support as an embedded interdependent activities embedded in
and dependent on a wider environment. System theories of organization have two major conceptual
themes or components: (1) applications of Ludwig von Bertalanffy s general system theory to
organizations and (2) the use of quantitative tools and techniques to understand to understand complex
relationships among organizational and environmental variables and thereby to optimize decisions
(Shafritz, Ott, Jang, 2011). A system is an organized collection of parts interacting and designed to
accomplish specific organizational goals or purposes. The general system theory provides an
important perspective for understanding modern organizations. The systems theory views of an
organization as being complex set of interconnected elements, such as the inputs, processes, outputs,
and feedback loops, and the environment in which it operates and with which is continuously
interacts. System theorists are continuing to study the interconnections using organizational decision
processes and information and control systems as their focal points of analysis. The open systems
became the more dominate organizational theory during the 1960 s that the classical organization
theorists rationale was closed system that pursued the goal of economic efficiency. The open system

Purpose of the Declaration of Independence
Rights of the People
A democracy is a system of government controlled by the people, not by one certain group or
individual. In the Declaration of Independence it states that all men are created equal, an idea which
leads to the concept that all citizens should have the same rights, responsibilities, and influence in the
governing of their country. In writing the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was trying to
break his ties with the harsh and non democratic rule of the British and begin a new, equal society and
government for America.
Democracy is defined as A system of government in which ultimate political authority is vested in the
People. The Declaration s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believed that it was time for America to break away from Britain s rule and become its own nation,
which could govern itself. To do this, though, it was necessary to write some sort of document which
would state to the world the basic beliefs on which the nation s new government would be built. This
document was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson felt that Britain was doing nothing but
hurting America with unfair rules and all sorts of ridiculous taxes. The colonies and colonists had no
rights in determining the very laws which dictated the way they led their lives. The Declaration of
Independence was a formal document stating that the people of America were breaking away from
Britain and that the American colonies were now Free and Independent States.
The Declaration of Independence was the cornerstone of American freedom and equality. By writing
this document, the American Colonies could now begin the process of starting a new way of life and a
new government. Obviously, at the time the Declaration of Independence was written the concept of
equality was more limited than it is today. Certainly, all members of colonial America did not share
equal status. However the concepts of the Declaration of Independence have evolved more fully over
the centuries

Pride In Sophocles Antigone
Sophocles, in Antigone says, if we cannot determine what is right or wrong, we should ignore pride
and continue living by reasoning and follow God s laws; however, if we don t follow God s law we
will experience the wrath of God.
In a world where we have the incapability to determine what is morally right or wrong we need to
ignore pride as it places us on a course that only leads to devastation. Sophocles uses Creon as an
example of what the outcome would be for following his own pride as his actions backfire on him.
When Creon is finalizing his decision to sentence Antigone to death, he focuses on his pride in
position as King rather than his loyalty to the Gods. Such pride is compared to the Gods as it says in

Our brains would be filled hesitation, confusion, and have the inability to do something that is
satisfactory according to our knowledge. If we determine our actions by our own pride, we will soon
realize that pride is not, free of the curse of heaven. The immortal God that lives above us will curse
us as God has cursed Creon for his actions. However, we have been given an ability called reason,
God s crowning gift to man, to support our actions as we don t know what s right or wrong. Once we
ve ignored pride and utilized reason we must listen to, God s proclamation because his laws are higher
than man s laws. Unfortunately, there will be those who fail to do so, resulting in the indirect
confrontation with God who is, swift with terrible punishment. We must listen to the immortal God
and his laws by ignoring pride and utilizing his gift ultimately determining what we do. If we fail to
do so, we will experience his wrath which could ultimately lead to death of not just the convicted, but
those surrounding him or her causing pain. In the play, Creon s lifelong achievements and personal
gains would only give him temporary happiness, but in the long run it would all have been for
nothing. If we take advantage of his gift as Creon has done by using reason against him for our own
self gain, the outcome will result in punishment by death and pain. However, if we

Southern China Research Paper
Southern China is a very different and diverse from America, but why? In this essay I will tell you
how and why the Climate and religion affect food choices and popular foods and table manners.
In Southern China the weather is very humid with up to 75 inches of rain per year. This moist weather
affects the food their by giving the land very fertile soil, witch is perfect for growing crops. Because of
the warm climate the food there can get spoiled very quickly, as a result the people in south China
preserve their vegetables and crops giving the region its sour taste. The climate in this region is
subtropical, which means warm climate almost all year round and basically no change in seasons.

Fried rice is a dish in China that can be fried with sauces ( brown rice) or plain (white). Jiaozi is a
classic Chinese dish that is commonly called dumplings and can be steamed, fried, or baked. Shallow
fried Jiaozi is a different type of dumplings that is fried in a pan with oil. Some commonly used spices
is sage and Turmeric root, and a common vegetable is Bok Choy.
And lastly China is known very nice and specific table manners and family rules. In China, a circle
table is better for a family so that the family can see each other better.. The guest of honor is always
seated to the right of the host. Guests are seated after the host s invitation, and it is rude to seat guests
at the place where the dishes are served. At a Chinese dinner, there is large plates of food that is
passed coming counterclockwise, and starts at the host. Once everyone is served the table may start to
eat.
So, after I did all my research I concludes that China is a interesting country with many different
customs than America. Such as, manly only eating plants due to religion. Preserving their foods
because of the hot, humid climate. And always using the scraps of an animal in any way they

On Dumpster Diving Lars Eighner
Lars Eighner s On Dumpster Diving describes the lifestyle of living out of a dumpster.
Eighner makes use of a tone and presents an usually unseemly topic in a compelling and comical light.
His general claim is that it is possible to survive well outside the housed community of the average
citizens. Eighner brings a perspective on scavenging for food and goods that differs from the typical
knee jerk reaction to dumpster diving. In his essay, Eighner discusses American waste as well as the
true art of scavenging and the lessons he learned through this experience. Eighner attempts to explain
and rationalize the reasons for dumpster diving. As he explains the art of scavenging, he exposes the

The Influence Of John Locke On Personal Identity
According to John Locke the question what are you? is personal identity. As for what personal identity
is Locke states, depends on consciousness, not on substance or a soul (John Locke: An Essay
Concerning Human Understanding). Locke seems to define memories as the source of a consciousness
in his chapter of Identity and Diversity. In addition, Locke believes that consciousness is independent
from all substances, but cannot exist independently without a body or a mind. However, that doesn t
mean that consciousness is confined to a particular body or mind. For example, in Locke s Chapter
XXVII Of Identity and Diversity states, Upon separation of this little finger, should this consciousness
go along with the little finger, and leave the rest of the body, it is evident the little finger would be the
person, the same person; and self then would have nothing to do with the rest of the body. . Locke
asserts that this applies to all parts of the body. This would suggest that if a person fell into a coma,
they would be dead according to lock. As they no longer have any awareness or can access their
memories. Unless somehow the person s consciousness could be inserted into another individual. For
example, if the person in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Untimely Meditations Of 19th Century Germany
Contrarily to Lear, Nietzsche clearly underlines that the failure to become ourselves has not simply to
do with whether we live up to our ideals, but also with the fact that our ideals are bad ones.
Accordingly, these stand as obstacles to our way to achieve sagehood. Hence, in the first of the
Untimely Meditations Nietzsche does not criticize the cultural philistine of 19th century Germany
simply because he fail to be a man of culture . Indeed, the roots of Nietzsche s argument lie in the fact
that the cultural philistine s representation of life as a fully achieved man of culture is wrong , insofar
as it renders him unable to be in contact with all creative there is, and therefore is cut off from the
possbility of developing true culture.

Puritan Americans During The English Reformation
The English Reformation Puritans The Puritans was a group of English Protestants from the late 16th
and 17th centuries, who regarded the Reformation of the Church of England during Elizabeth prime as
Queen. The Puritans was a group that had separated from the Roman Catholic Church practices, that
kept them from the act of worship that they wanted to practice. There were three step to Reformation
of the Puritans Theological issue. I. There were a series of steps aimed at discussing ties between the
Papacy and the English church, which led to a large role in Christian history in America. In the way
that people in the New World would worship and do their devotion. II. The descendants of the English

Because of American religious history there were several groups that came to the New World to make
their mark. The Puritans had a stronger influence on society both positive and negative. A. One of the
positive things taken place was the reform in the church on social, political, ethical, and theological
ideas. This brought about commitment of the gospel from each generations. The work of the Holy
Spirit displayed spiritual wisdom in the pulpits, the way the preacher preached and led the
congregation with his leadership role. This brought about a change in the way things were done, the
start of revival injected new ideas into the Christian faith. Another way was the movement of anti
slavery, this could bring freedom to Black America. Also, the religious freedom was incorporated in
the American society that all people could worship and serve God in their own ethics groups. After the
freedom of slavery, the blacks were able to work for themselves and work for others as free men.
Black preachers started their own churches and met every week for service. There were many changes
made in society in the way we live and worship in today s society. As believers in God we have come
a long way from the start of self worship in American. Learning to disciple others for Christ and to
learn Christian true is what people are looking for in today life. Because of religious movement

Presentation Of Grand Prix Show Jumping
Grand Prix show jumping is a physically and emotionally challenging sport for both the horse and
rider. The purpose of this paper is to inform the reader about Grand Prix Show Jumping. The
following information will answer questions regarding six topics. This research paper will provide a
brief history of Show Jumping, and explain why it started. Second, it will describe what Show
Jumping requires and what Show Jumping is. Third, it will tell where Show Jumping occurs. Fourth, it
will state how Show Jumping has changed. Fifth, it will share who the athletes are today and who the
top horses and riders are at the Grand Prix level. Sixth, it will inform the reader of when Grand Prix
events take place. The Grand Prix is the highest and most difficult level of Show Jumping. This sport
requires that the horses be in excellent physical condition. Jumping at high levels puts a lot of strain
on their joints and tendons, so it is important not to overwork them. With so much strain on their
bodies, one false step could result in injury. Show Jumping originated in Europe. During the Middle
Ages, the Greeks included jumping horses in their military exercise. A three day event occurred that
reflected the range of challenges horses faced in the army. In England, Show Jumping was derived
from fox hunting. Throughout the eighteenth century, Great Britain passed Enclosure Acts, meaning
that wealthy owners of land could build stone walls along their property lines. Fox hunters adapted

International Financial Reporting Standards On The...
It is incontestable that international financial reporting standards (IFRS) are in vogue and global
conformity theoretically on the doorstep as about 100 countries implement standard financial
regulations. The idea that uniform reporting standards have the same effect on financial reporting
undervalues the contested ability to be flexible in financial reporting and introduces another level of
debate on the issue of flexibility and uniformity. Apart from the fact that the merits of flexibility are
downplayed to increase cross sectional and inter temporal comparison, prescribed reporting standards
compliance is itself not enough basis to claim that financial reporting. The IFRS comprises of
principle based standards that have presents financial report manager with the opportunity to increase
flexibility on their part and possible manipulation (Benston, 2006). Consequently, the fact brings
another issue into question, for instance, the reliability and transparency of information produced
under professional discretion and judgment of managers. This paper seeks to indicate that there are too
many current financial reporting issues that are not yet conclusively included in the crusade for the
adoption of uniform financial reporting standards on the notion that uniform standards improve the
quality of financial reporting regarding comparability. Accounting regulation has an apparent
importance in accounting for the good of the public. The regulation allows corporate organization

An insane man suffocates and stifles an innocent old man because he does not like the old man s pale
blue, vulture like eye, yet he claims to be sane. In The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allan Poe, the main
character, the narrator, is haunted by an old man s pale blue eye. The narrator is haunted so much by
the eyes that he decides to get rid of the eye, even if it meant getting rid of the old man too. In the end,
the narrator ends up a telling the police where he concealed the old man s dead body to the police, on
account of him being insane. Even though the narrator claims to be sane, I can tell by his actions,
thoughts, and words, that he is clearly insane. The narrator loves the old man but is haunted but the
old man s evil eye. The narrator makes up his mind to kill the old man and to get rid of the eye. The
text states, It is impossible to say how first the idea entered my brain; but once conceived, it haunted
me day and night. Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had never
wronged me. He had never given me insult.

It Is Our Humanity That Binds Us Inextricably
It is our humanity that binds us inextricably. We are all created in God s image, and as such deserve
respect, understanding and a sense of belonging. As Dick Staub so adequately explains Wholly unlike
God we are nevertheless God s image bearers. Wholly unlike God, we are like God in that we are free
beings. Knowing that true love is chosen, not imposed, God gave humans the gift of freedom freedom
to choose either to glorify God, as creatures who honor their creator, or to usurp God s rightful place,
choosing to glorify ourselves the created ones.
The years have shown me that often people walk past the envisioned spiritual cord hanging in their
face. If noticed and pulled it is used it as a veil instead, or a blind fold. The misunderstood ropes are
tied in knots and years can be spent endeavoring to untangle them. Bondage instead of freedom
prevails.
Sometimes God s precious invitation is then discounted and deemed to be a useless and unnecessary
part of worldly existence.
Some cry, faith doesn t work ; God let them down or religious people are all hypocrites . They have
experienced grief and disappointment, and from that point on vehemently maintain that miracles are
non existent and faith is a waste of time.
Nonetheless our Heavenly Father, being loving and patient still keeps extending the invitation to us to
grasp tightly and follow Him. He knows that we struggle with the seemingly difficult, the unseen and
the unknown. He is compelling, patient,

Early life
Boyhood and education. Winston Churchill was born on Nov. 30, 1874, in Blenheim Palace in
Oxfordshire, England. He was the elder of the two sons of Lord Randolph Churchill (1849 1895) and
Lady Churchill (1854 1921), an American girl whose maiden name was Jennie Jerome. Lord
Randolph was the third son of the seventh Duke of Marlborough. The first Duke of Marlborough had
been one of England s greatest military commanders. Winston s mother was famous for her beauty.
Her father, Leonard Jerome, made and lost several fortunes in business.
Young Winston, a chunky lad with a mop of red hair, had an unhappy boyhood. He talked with a
stutter and lisp, and did poorly in his schoolwork. His stubbornness and high spirits annoyed
everyone. In addition, his parents had little time for him.
Winston stood in fear and wonder of his father. Lord Randolph, a leader in the Conservative party,
showed little affection for Winston. Winston s mother charmed everyone with her beauty and wit. As
Lord Randolph s wife, she had many duties. Little time was left for Winston. Churchill later wrote of
his mother: She shone for me like the Evening Star. I loved her dearly but at a distance.

The Novel The Green Mile
King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated,
visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the end.
This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people s fate,
when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same way, (King
16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable, punished the guilty,
and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John Coffey in fall of 1932 was a
hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this man as not much of a talker, but he
often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the rape and murder of two little girls; a crime
he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black man in both height and mass, but there was an
oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb had been acquainted with many inmates over his years,
but this is the first one he offered his hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King
19). Coffey, a simple man, who talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay.
From the start, it seemed Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. [He
was] doomed and [maybe] even perhaps eager to die and put all of the pain and misery behind him (D
Ammassa). He had a hand for healing, even though this man knew that life was

Fire Department Pros Analysis
Introduction
After several years of a hiring freeze, the Fire Department(FD) is seeking to expand its firefighting
personnel ranks by recruiting approximately 1000 candidates to be eventually hired. Currently, the
Fire Department is predominantly male Caucasian of either Irish or Italian descent in a long history of
dedicated fire fighters which goes back generations. Contrastingly, a significant number of minorities
have been unable to meet the expectations of the FD s outdated recruitment practices which lack
standardized procedures hence, few minority (women, African Americans, Hispanics) firefighters.
Now, the city s estimated population is 1 million of which, about 30% are racial of ethnic minorities

Specifically, neutral policies or practices that unevenly or unfavorably effect any protected class

In the past, women outperformed all candidates in exams despite failing the physical exams.
Ultimately, more white candidates dominated the civil service list from where appointments came for
years, the few minority candidates that passed never made the hiring list and women were have never
been hired. Based on the FD s statistics, there is compelling evidence indicative of both racial and
gender discrimination against racial minorities and women, in recruitment, testing, selection, hiring
and promotion to support the disparate impact theory (Guerin, n.d.). Therefore, as a representative of
the city, it is my recommendation that the FD cease and desist from sole use of word of mouth
recruitment and the continued use of flawed essay based exams as this would prove a pattern of non
compliance with EEOC along with potential legal recourse (U.S. Department of Justice, 2015, p. 2).
Recruitment campaign improvement recommendations
The essay based questions should be developed by an independent party with assistance from both city
and Fire Commission representatives. Following a literature review section of an International

minority recruitment was targeted recruitment consisting of the following (Fox, Hornick,

The Rise And Fall Of Spain
The Social, Political and Economic Reasons of the Rise and Fall of Spain
During the 15th century, many considered Spain insignificant. However, within a century it became a
world dominant power in Europe. Although Spain only took a brief time to rise, it was also short lived.
The rise of Spain was due to its flourishing culture, stable political system and successful voyages to
the New World. On the other hand, its decline was due to religious control, resistance from other
countries and inflation.
The year 1469 held the marriage of two Catholic monarchs, Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand of
Aragon. Their marriage marked the unity of Spain and the beginning of a joint reign. The duo imposed
a central religion and dialogue for their fellow Spaniards. To reunify Spain s religion they brought the
church in order to control the corruption of the sale of indulgence. They also established the Spanish
Inquisition that helped avoid challenges from the Reformation. It s was originally used to convert
Jews and Islamic Moors, but was later used to punish those who questioned the Catholic Church.
Isabella and Ferdinand s marriage later triggered the Golden Age, which is often interpreted as the age
of learning. It increased the acknowledgement on the arts and literatures in cities and countless people
became artists who later emerged as influential figures. With the help of many artists, Golden Age
successfully uniformed the values of both socially and culturally Spaniards.

Accelerated US History
Accelerated US History I
In the Presidential Election of 1824, Andrew Jackson the people s choice lost the ballot by way of a
corrupt bargain in the House of Representatives. Four years later and with the backing of a larger
political following, Jackson became president, campaigning to the middle class and offering the
opportunities of a benevolent democracy. Jackson s supporters, the Jacksonians, were as diverse as
they were numerous; northern farmers, southern and western yeomen, and even urban immigrants all
joined the ranks of the Champion of the Common Man (OI). During Andrew Jackson s two terms, the
state of Jacksonian Democracy that took form upheld the principles of equality and majority rule that
bound the United States together politically, economically and socially. During the 1820s and 1830s,
Jacksonians served as guardians of the Constitution and equality of economic opportunity, and
functioned as a catalyst for popular sovereignty, but sacrificed some individual liberties to advance the
political democracy in the union. As President, Andrew Jackson strictly adhered to the guidelines set
in the Constitution to uphold the union. In 1830, Andrew Jackson vetoed the bill, passed in Congress,
which pushed for a federally funded road system to be developed in Kentucky (OI). To defend this
denial, Jackson abided by the Constitution s declaration that intra state internal improvements are to
be funded by the states, not the federal government.

Janus, The Guardian Of The Gates To Heaven In Roman Mythology
Janitor, originated from Janus Janus, the guardian of the gates to Heaven in Roman mythology. He is
shown as having two faces, one in front, to the future, the other at the back of his head, to the past. He
is the patron of beginnings and endings, entries and exits, symbolizes the beginning of every day,
every month and every year. In 46 BC, Caesar decided that the first day of January was the New Year
s Day of Roman calendar, and he named the first month after Janus, which is lanuarius (month of
Janus) in Latin. The English word January came from here. The legends of ancient Roman say, Janus

The Legend About The Vampires And Their Secret Life
The legend about the vampires and their secret life is one that keeps on frightening and
captivate the audience around the world. The thought of an undead night stalker that nourishes
on human blood has been around for quite a long time and perseveres right up till modern days.
The image of the immortal creature has perfectly fitted into the modern popular culture. Various
nations and societies over the globe have individual deviations of a comparative folkloric
substance. Regardless of the variety, all vampire stories have a key shared characteristic the
desire for human blood and immortality. It was not until the late XIX century that an Irish writer
agreed an expansiveness of learning on such folkloric stories and devised the character that now
goes about as the format for the vampire myth. Bram Stoker s Dracula was initially distributed in
1897 and starting now and into the foreseeable future the author s title character set the point of
reference for every single anecdotal vampire. Vampire fiction, in any case, keeps on developing
and enrapture in spite of the way that it draws from a limitless folkloric and scholarly past.
Humankind has dependably been intrigued with the charm of immortality and albeit initially
vampires were not an image of this, as time passed and society changed so did the thoughts and
discernments encompassing them.
The human interest with vampires has been a noticeable swaying topic in popular culture.

The Fundamental Principle Of A Republic By Anna Howard Shaw
In the June of 1915, Anna Howard Shaw exposes the hypocrisy in America s voting system in her
speech The Fundamental Principle of a Republic. Her voice full of acerbic indignation indicates her
frustration with male domination in America s so called Republic. She denounces America as a
Republic since half of its citizens cannot vote and condemns its arbitrary and discriminatory form of
voting. She employs a sarcastic tone to demonstrate how ridiculous the voting system is and to gain
men s support in the women s suffrage movement. Shaw s sarcasm enhances her argument by making
the current voting system seem illogical. She bluntly states that America should stop pretending to be
a Republic when it does not uphold the fundamental ideals of

Massive gastrointestinal bleed.
The procedure was done emergently because of the patient s critical condition. His right IJ area was
prepped in the usual fashion. It was very difficult to visualize his right IJ vein, even though his habitus
should have allowed us to do so, but the patient was, I believe, severely intravascularly volume
depleted, and his vein was collapsing. I have attempted to access the right internal jugular vein
multiple times, both under real time ultrasound guidance and even later on blindly. I was able to get
blood return and hit the vein; however, I was not able to advance the guidewire. I was able to advance
it one time and put the catheter in, and it was nonfunctioning. I had to take the catheter out and tried
multiple other times on the right IJ vein without success. That procedure was terminated. Pressure was
applied. There was no cervical hematoma whatsoever. The patient was uncomfortable because of the
length of the procedure but did well otherwise. Hemodynamically, he was unchanged, and his oxygen
saturations remained stable.I prepped the IJ vein area in the usual fashion. One percent lidocaine was
used for local anesthesia. Again, the left IJ vein was collapsing. With deep inspiration, the vein could
be well visualized on the real time and ultrasound guidance, after which I could get access to the left
IJ vein. A wire was advanced without difficulty while the

Ecostar Case Analysis
The central strategy recommended to Nighthawk Motors for acquiring B2B customers is offering of
cost reduction. Effective cost management requires resources and process discipline to enable and
ensure the highest possible level of quality, reliability and productivity at the lowest overall cost

institutional markets. The goal is to brand the Ecostar as the leading hybrid plug in vehicle with
biggest cost saving for these organizations. All the three tiers of government federal, states and local

Avis Budget Group, Inc., acquires many of its rental vehicles pursuant to repurchase and guaranteed
depreciation programs established by automobile manufacturers (Avis, 2015). Nighthawk packages
should offer incentive such as vehicle repurchasing and replacement, extended powertrain guarantees,
vehicle customization, and quantity discount for large buyers. Repurchase rental cars will reduce long
term maintenance and liability cost and increase bottom line for the rental companies. Nighthawk will
benefit by selling more Ecostar with fairly steady and consistent buyers. It will also benefit from
resale of certified pre owned Ecostar while gaining more individual customers. Finally, partnership

recommends to the active user the items that other users with similar tastes liked in the past. The

This is the reason why collaborative filtering is often referred as people to people correlation.

Analysis Of The Pearls On A String
Out of all the amazing things I saw in the Pearls on a String, the one that I found the most interesting
was Akbar and Abd al Rahim, from the Akabarmana (Book of Akabr, 1586 1589). It is amazing to see
how many different scenes can all occur in one piece. Overall, The Book of Akbar had multiple
outstanding pieces but the emotion in this particular page is what caught my attention. Although I did
not study the other pages as intensely as this one, it is clear to see that Abul Fazlt s technique is
spectacular throughout each and every page. This painting is historical, depicting a young Abdul
Rahim Khan I Khana being received by Akbar after his family was killed. A great story is told
throughout the entire book, although this particular image has more of an intensity to it. This page
functions as a devotional image in order to display the emotional trauma Abd al Rahim must have felt
having all that he knew dragged from under him. This occurrence after royal bloodshed subsequently
sets a mood for the piece. Some of the painting is hard to depict, due to some men appearing
respectful and embracing while others appeared with contempt. This page is taller than wide with a
beautiful background paper designs. The placement of the piece is harmonious in every way possible.
In paying attention to the placement more emphasis is put onto the central area of the painting. The
frame compliments the shape of the piece allowing it to bring your focus back after the eye wanders

Midterm
(The Importance of Labor and Labor unions 1800 1900) Prior to the American Civil War in 1861
much of American workforce was completed by slaves brought from Africa. Slave labor was used
mostly in southern agriculture. Working conditions for slaves were dismal at best with inadequate
housing, lack of food, resources and broken families. The quality of life for slaves was seldom taken
into account by slave owners as slaves were seen as property rather than people or employees. After
the Unions victory however the newly freed slaves desired to live on their own on their own land and
work for themselves. In January 1865 General William T. Sherman ... Show more content on

This was done under contract and both white and black land owners that participated in this form of
labor. The establishment of labor unions by this point was not a new idea however their impact on
social change from this point forward made the most significant changes. In 1869, a labor union
known as the Knights of Labor sought to defend the common worker from poor compensation and to
improve working conditions for the working class. The idea was to literally hold the employer s
hostage by going on strike under protest until their demands had been met. During the 2nd industrial
revolution brought about an enormous surge in jobs in manufacturing and farming. This uptick in
production in all sectors and the lack of an income tax made many leaders in business extremely
wealthy. Workers believed that the distribution of the wealth was not fair and demanded they receive
their fair share. Though the wage disparity was high finding economic security and peace for workers
remain a fact of life to the present day. The change that labor unions bring have brought about safer
working conditions and wage increases however they have also had an even greater effect on social
issues. Labor unions played a significant role in government early on fought on the grounds of social

The Postal System As A Method Of Communication
There are three separate theories available which can be identified that could be used to confirm that
an enforceable agreement has been reached between parties using the postal system as a method of
communication. These are, the information theory, whereby the offeror notifies the offeree that the
letter of acceptance has been received. The receipt theory, which assumes a contract has been created
on the receipt of a letter of acceptance and the dispatch theory, known also as the postal rule which
confirms that a contract has been entered into at the point in time that the letter of acceptance is
posted. Clearly, it is essential that when contracts are created using the postal system as a means of
communication it must possible to determine at what point the agreement becomes legally
enforceable. When using the postal system there is an inevitable risk that communications could be
lost or delayed which, but for the postal rule would create uncertainty for the party who is providing
acceptance of the offer. Therefore, unless the offeror had prescribed a specific or alternative method of
communication it is the dispatch theory that is applied in English contract law regarding the
acceptance of agreements that are made using the postal system, this confirms certainty in the mind of
the offeree. This rule became established in English contract law as the result of the decision made in
Adams v Lindsell (1818) 106 ER 250. This was subsequently confirmed in The

How to Improve Airline Safety and Pilot Training Essay
On February 12, 2009, a Colgan Airlines flight operating as Continental Connection Flight 3407
crashed two miles from the runway in Buffalo, New York, killing all fifty people aboard.. The
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation that followed stunned the American
public and identified the need to closely examine the regulations governing pilot training and pilot rest
requirements, with a strong focus on regional airlines (Berard, 2010, 2). Currently, the United States
government has passed HR 5900, which was titled the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation
Administration Extension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111 216 (Public Law 111 126,

The reason that this came about was the captain of the Colgan accident flight in Buffalo, New York
had failed five checkrides in his life time. This would not normally be a big deal, but he failed his
checkrides because he was not satisfactory in icing procedures...one of the major causes of the
accident according to the NTSB.
Implementation of NTSB Flight Crewmember Training Recommendations The National Traffic Safety
Board (NTSB) is an independent United States government investigative agency responsible for civil
transportation accident investigation. The NTSB investigates all aviation accidents and incidents. On
an annual basis, this bill requires that the FAA accepts all NTSB flight crewmember training
recommendations that come up over the past year (Hughes, 2010). For example, the NTSB has
requested that the FAA include flight in icing conditions into all flight training curriculums.
FAA Rulemaking on Training Programs Prior to this bill, the FAA had no say in what airlines included
in their training programs as long as the program included certain subjects. No later than fourteen
months after the date the bill is signed into law, the FAA will issue a final rule on all training programs
(House Transportation Subcommittee, 2010). This was brought into effect because Colgan Airlines did
not include flight into icing conditions in their flight

The For Your Child s Winter Essay
You can t miss the nip in the air, and as the year draws to an end, the mercury is going to dip even
further. This also means it s time to pull out all those colourful woollies that have been languishing in
the cupboard, and maybe buy some new ones to stay in sync with the season s trends. Gone are the
days when the over sized woolens came in monotonous and boring winter shades. Now, you can
splurge on colours and watch your child radiate the brightness. Red is big for girls and boys, and the
metallics that lit up the runways in the fall are also gracing kids winter lines.
When choosing woolens for your child, practicality is of utmost importance. But don t overlook the
fashion angle. Kids, these days, are extremely conscious about what they wear. Here are a few winter
must haves for your child.
1. Just jackets
Your child s winter wardrobe would be incomplete without a warm and colourful jacket. Depending
on where you are stationed, you can opt for a quilt lined jacket, a football jacket, a classic denim one
or the contemporary ones that look more like coats. Cotton, Light and medium poly fill jackets are in
fashion these days, with sweat jackets ruling the fashion scene. Jackets, not only provide ample
warmth, but when zipped right up, take care of the entire upper torso without you having to worry
much. Little girls can add a few frills and flowers to their jackets without thinking twice. And if it s
not too cold, they can even go for chic shrugs.

Legalization of Same-Sex Marriage
Gay Marriage Gay marriage has become more and more important to more and more people in the
recent past. Many people want gay people to be allowed to get married. They say that marriage is a
right, not a privilege. People who oppose gay marriage say that marriage is defined as a union of one
man and one woman. Many people, who otherwise are very supportive of a homosexual s rights, say
that they shouldn t be allowed to marry simply because two people of the same sex can t get married.
According to The Washington Post a record high of fifty nine percent of Americans say that they
support gay marriage while only thirty four percent say that they are opposed to it. When asked to
consider The Constitution and what it says about equal rights, the numbers are similar but not the
same. When considering what the Constitution says, fifty percent of people say the Constitution
guarantees anyone the right to marry while forty one percent say it does not. As far as allowing same
sex marriage from state to state, 17 allow same sex marriage while 33 ban it by state law,
Constitutional amendment, or both. Let me start by defining the word marriage. According to the
Encyclopedia Britannica, marriage is a legally and socially sanctioned union, usually between a man
and a woman, that is regulated by laws, rules, customs, beliefs, and attitudes that prescribe the rights
and duties of the partners and accords status to their offspring . Many argue that a homosexual couple

  • 2. The Process Of Producing Nuclear Energy From Thorium This essay focuses on the process of producing nuclear energy from thorium. First, basic information about the element is covered as well as its uses up until the present. Next, the history of thorium energy is covered, including details of previous successful studies and experiments. This is supplemented with a detailed explanation of the benefits and drawbacks of thorium energy, and this is immediately followed by a brief explanation of the chemistry behind the technology. Finally, the future of the thorium energy is discussed, along with a few examples of companies, governments, and organizations which are currently researching and promoting the concept. Thorium has long been the subject of scientific research ever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Things are starting to turn around for thorium though, as people are beginning to realize that thorium power offers cleaner, more powerful, and safer energy than anything humanity has ever known before, and they are beginning to take action to make thorium more widely known as an important prospective energy source. Web. 15 May 2016 Thorium is a silvery radioactive metal which was discovered in 1828 and is relatively common in nature (see fig. 1) (World Nuclear Association). According to the World Nuclear Association, thorium is about three times more abundant than uranium; an average average soil sample contains about 3ppm thorium, making the element about as common as lead. In nature, thorium occurs only as Th 232, which has a half life of about 3 times the age of the earth (World Nuclear Association). Thorium has found use in the past in some objects such as light bulbs, lantern mantels, and some ceramics as thorium oxide because of its exceptionally high melting point (see fig. 2) (World Nuclear Association). Estimates show there are over 6 million metric tons of thorium worldwide, which could be extracted at a profitable rate, making the element a viable candidate for nuclear energy production (OECD). In fact, thorium was even being researched as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Somebody Nobody- Comic Play Somebody Nobody Somebody Nobody was a comical play, I wish it was longer because as you go along it starts to get more in depth. When it got to the end of the play I did not realize it, felt like I wanted to know the afterlife of Loli and Sheena s friendship. Did Sheena and Joe Don stay together? Did Galaxy (bigger than the stars) get fired? Loli s character portrayed that she was energetic and she decided to better her life by moving to a different state to start a new life. Despite what Loli went through she tried her best to keep a positive attitude. Loli s voice inflection was excellent from when she spoke with Mr. Johnston stating that she lost her job she seemed hopeless. When she answered the phone speaking to her mother she sounded disappointed that her mother wanted her to move back home to Flatt Kansas. To the time she was excited that Sheena Keener was at her door step. As for Sheena Kenner s character, I viewed her as uppity though she was a B List Celebrity. I admire her for telling the story as she gazed off into the audience, it made me wonder what she was looking at so I visualized as she spoke. As Sheen was acting I seen that she used a lot of hand gestures when she has an attitude or so called sass. Loli and Sheena were the opposite of each other but they turned that into a friendship. I think they both build themselves off from one another so the character s relationship will have a strong foundation. I think Sheena taught Loli how to get out of her shell ... • 4. Atlanta Exposition Address Summary In the article Atlanta Exposition Address Booker T. Washington was addressing the topic of mutual progress for the nation, which he believed could only be achieved by cooperation between blacks and whites. He asked for his race to cast down your bucket where you are. What Mr. Washington meant by this was that he wanted for the blacks to use the resources right in front of them; to become friends with the whites around them. If they did, the blacks would be able to create for themselves better lives and better job opportunities. Most blacks could not start at the top of the economical ladder, but had to start at the bottom and work their way to the top. • 5. The General System Theory For Understanding Modern... The shift of research and theory models went through a major shift during the 1960s and 1970s when the open systems perspective gained support as an embedded interdependent activities embedded in and dependent on a wider environment. System theories of organization have two major conceptual themes or components: (1) applications of Ludwig von Bertalanffy s general system theory to organizations and (2) the use of quantitative tools and techniques to understand to understand complex relationships among organizational and environmental variables and thereby to optimize decisions (Shafritz, Ott, Jang, 2011). A system is an organized collection of parts interacting and designed to accomplish specific organizational goals or purposes. The general system theory provides an important perspective for understanding modern organizations. The systems theory views of an organization as being complex set of interconnected elements, such as the inputs, processes, outputs, and feedback loops, and the environment in which it operates and with which is continuously interacts. System theorists are continuing to study the interconnections using organizational decision processes and information and control systems as their focal points of analysis. The open systems became the more dominate organizational theory during the 1960 s that the classical organization theorists rationale was closed system that pursued the goal of economic efficiency. • 6. Purpose of the Declaration of Independence Rights of the People A democracy is a system of government controlled by the people, not by one certain group or individual. In the Declaration of Independence it states that all men are created equal, an idea which leads to the concept that all citizens should have the same rights, responsibilities, and influence in the governing of their country. In writing the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was trying to break his ties with the harsh and non democratic rule of the British and begin a new, equal society and government for America. Democracy is defined as A system of government in which ultimate political authority is vested in the People. The Declaration s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He believed that it was time for America to break away from Britain s rule and become its own nation, which could govern itself. To do this, though, it was necessary to write some sort of document which would state to the world the basic beliefs on which the nation s new government would be built. This document was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson felt that Britain was doing nothing but hurting America with unfair rules and all sorts of ridiculous taxes. The colonies and colonists had no rights in determining the very laws which dictated the way they led their lives. The Declaration of Independence was a formal document stating that the people of America were breaking away from Britain and that the American colonies were now Free and Independent States. The Declaration of Independence was the cornerstone of American freedom and equality. By writing this document, the American Colonies could now begin the process of starting a new way of life and a new government. Obviously, at the time the Declaration of Independence was written the concept of equality was more limited than it is today. Certainly, all members of colonial America did not share equal status. • 7. Pride In Sophocles Antigone Sophocles, in Antigone says, if we cannot determine what is right or wrong, we should ignore pride and continue living by reasoning and follow God s laws; however, if we don t follow God s law we will experience the wrath of God. In a world where we have the incapability to determine what is morally right or wrong we need to ignore pride as it places us on a course that only leads to devastation. Sophocles uses Creon as an example of what the outcome would be for following his own pride as his actions backfire on him. When Creon is finalizing his decision to sentence Antigone to death, he focuses on his pride in position as King rather than his loyalty to the Gods. Such pride is compared to the Gods as it says in Ode 2, No pride on earth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our brains would be filled hesitation, confusion, and have the inability to do something that is satisfactory according to our knowledge. If we determine our actions by our own pride, we will soon realize that pride is not, free of the curse of heaven. The immortal God that lives above us will curse us as God has cursed Creon for his actions. However, we have been given an ability called reason, God s crowning gift to man, to support our actions as we don t know what s right or wrong. Once we ve ignored pride and utilized reason we must listen to, God s proclamation because his laws are higher than man s laws. Unfortunately, there will be those who fail to do so, resulting in the indirect confrontation with God who is, swift with terrible punishment. We must listen to the immortal God and his laws by ignoring pride and utilizing his gift ultimately determining what we do. If we fail to do so, we will experience his wrath which could ultimately lead to death of not just the convicted, but those surrounding him or her causing pain. In the play, Creon s lifelong achievements and personal gains would only give him temporary happiness, but in the long run it would all have been for nothing. If we take advantage of his gift as Creon has done by using reason against him for our own self gain, the outcome will result in punishment by death and pain. However, if we ... In this essay I will tell you how and why the Climate and religion affect food choices and popular foods and table manners. In Southern China the weather is very humid with up to 75 inches of rain per year. This moist weather affects the food their by giving the land very fertile soil, witch is perfect for growing crops. Because of the warm climate the food there can get spoiled very quickly, as a result the people in south China preserve their vegetables and crops giving the region its sour taste. • 9. On Dumpster Diving Lars Eighner Lars Eighner s On Dumpster Diving describes the lifestyle of living out of a dumpster. Eighner makes use of a tone and presents an usually unseemly topic in a compelling and comical light. His general claim is that it is possible to survive well outside the housed community of the average citizens. Eighner brings a perspective on scavenging for food and goods that differs from the typical knee jerk reaction to dumpster diving. In his essay, Eighner discusses American waste as well as the true art of scavenging and the lessons he learned through this experience. • 10. The Influence Of John Locke On Personal Identity According to John Locke the question what are you? is personal identity. As for what personal identity is Locke states, depends on consciousness, not on substance or a soul (John Locke: An Essay Concerning Human Understanding). Locke seems to define memories as the source of a consciousness in his chapter of Identity and Diversity. In addition, Locke believes that consciousness is independent from all substances, but cannot exist independently without a body or a mind. However, that doesn t mean that consciousness is confined to a particular body or mind. For example, in Locke s Chapter XXVII Of Identity and Diversity states, Upon separation of this little finger, should this consciousness go along with the little finger, and leave the rest of the body, it is evident the little finger would be the person, the same person; and self then would have nothing to do with the rest of the body. . The Untimely Meditations Of 19th Century Germany Contrarily to Lear, Nietzsche clearly underlines that the failure to become ourselves has not simply to do with whether we live up to our ideals, but also with the fact that our ideals are bad ones. Accordingly, these stand as obstacles to our way to achieve sagehood. Hence, in the first of the Untimely Meditations Nietzsche does not criticize the cultural philistine of 19th century Germany simply because he fail to be a man of culture . Indeed, the roots of Nietzsche s argument lie in the fact that the cultural philistine s representation of life as a fully achieved man of culture is wrong , insofar as it renders him unable to be in contact with all creative there is, and therefore is cut off from the possbility of developing true culture. ... It is incontestable that international financial reporting standards (IFRS) are in vogue and global conformity theoretically on the doorstep as about 100 countries implement standard financial regulations. The idea that uniform reporting standards have the same effect on financial reporting undervalues the contested ability to be flexible in financial reporting and introduces another level of debate on the issue of flexibility and uniformity. Apart from the fact that the merits of flexibility are downplayed to increase cross sectional and inter temporal comparison, prescribed reporting standards compliance is itself not enough basis to claim that financial reporting. The IFRS comprises of principle based standards that have presents financial report manager with the opportunity to increase flexibility on their part and possible manipulation (Benston, 2006). We are all created in God s image, and as such deserve respect, understanding and a sense of belonging. As Dick Staub so adequately explains Wholly unlike God we are nevertheless God s image bearers. Wholly unlike God, we are like God in that we are free beings. Knowing that true love is chosen, not imposed, God gave humans the gift of freedom freedom to choose either to glorify God, as creatures who honor their creator, or to usurp God s rightful place, choosing to glorify ourselves the created ones. The years have shown me that often people walk past the envisioned spiritual cord hanging in their face. If noticed and pulled it is used it as a veil instead, or a blind fold. The misunderstood ropes are tied in knots and years can be spent endeavoring to untangle them. Bondage instead of freedom prevails. Sometimes God s precious invitation is then discounted and deemed to be a useless and unnecessary part of worldly existence. Some cry, faith doesn t work ; God let them down or religious people are all hypocrites . They have experienced grief and disappointment, and from that point on vehemently maintain that miracles are non existent and faith is a waste of time. • 19. The Novel The Green Mile King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated, visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the end. This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people s fate, when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same way, (King 16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable, punished the guilty, and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John Coffey in fall of 1932 was a hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this man as not much of a talker, but he often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the rape and murder of two little girls; a crime he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black man in both height and mass, but there was an oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb had been acquainted with many inmates over his years, but this is the first one he offered his hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King 19). Coffey, a simple man, who talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay. From the start, it seemed Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. Based on the FD s statistics, there is compelling evidence indicative of both racial and gender discrimination against racial minorities and women, in recruitment, testing, selection, hiring and promotion to support the disparate impact theory (Guerin, n.d.). Therefore, as a representative of the city, it is my recommendation that the FD cease and desist from sole use of word of mouth recruitment and the continued use of flawed essay based exams as this would prove a pattern of non compliance with EEOC along with potential legal recourse (U.S. Department of Justice, 2015, p. 2). The year 1469 held the marriage of two Catholic monarchs, Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon. Their marriage marked the unity of Spain and the beginning of a joint reign. Slave labor was used mostly in southern agriculture. Working conditions for slaves were dismal at best with inadequate housing, lack of food, resources and broken families. The quality of life for slaves was seldom taken into account by slave owners as slaves were seen as property rather than people or employees. After the Unions victory however the newly freed slaves desired to live on their own on their own land and work for themselves. In January 1865 General William T. Sherman ... • 35. The Postal System As A Method Of Communication There are three separate theories available which can be identified that could be used to confirm that an enforceable agreement has been reached between parties using the postal system as a method of communication. These are, the information theory, whereby the offeror notifies the offeree that the letter of acceptance has been received. The receipt theory, which assumes a contract has been created on the receipt of a letter of acceptance and the dispatch theory, known also as the postal rule which confirms that a contract has been entered into at the point in time that the letter of acceptance is posted. Clearly, it is essential that when contracts are created using the postal system as a means of communication it must possible to determine at what point the agreement becomes legally enforceable. When using the postal system there is an inevitable risk that communications could be lost or delayed which, but for the postal rule would create uncertainty for the party who is providing acceptance of the offer. Therefore, unless the offeror had prescribed a specific or alternative method of communication it is the dispatch theory that is applied in English contract law regarding the acceptance of agreements that are made using the postal system, this confirms certainty in the mind of the offeree. This rule became established in English contract law as the result of the decision made in Adams v Lindsell (1818) 106 ER 250. This was subsequently confirmed in The ... Currently, the United States government has passed HR 5900, which was titled the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration Extension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111 216 (Public Law 111 126, 2010, 3). Implementation of NTSB Flight Crewmember Training Recommendations The National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent United States government investigative agency responsible for civil transportation accident investigation. The NTSB investigates all aviation accidents and incidents. On an annual basis, this bill requires that the FAA accepts all NTSB flight crewmember training recommendations that come up over the past year (Hughes, 2010). For example, the NTSB has requested that the FAA include flight in icing conditions into all flight training curriculums. FAA Rulemaking on Training Programs Prior to this bill, the FAA had no say in what airlines included in their training programs as long as the program included certain subjects. No later than fourteen months after the date the bill is signed into law, the FAA will issue a final rule on all training programs (House Transportation Subcommittee, 2010).
