Jimmy Jackson Jr
Integrated Project: Here and Back Again and What Occurred After Jimmy Jackson Jr. awoke to the
smell of danger. It is a strange smell, yet distinct, a little bit of fear mixed with a little bit of duty.
Nonetheless, it awoke him from his 1969 suburbs home, where he groggily got up to reach for his
long range Taser that he left by his bedside. You see, Jimmy Jackson Jr. was brilliant, no one knows
where he came from, and all they know is that he was brilliant. Anyways, back to the story, his house
was being robbed by not the brightest of robbers, or one who didn t whose house he was robbing. We
may never know, because the next thing the robber remembered was lying in a cell. Nonetheless,
Jimmy Jackson was up. His latest invention was a portable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Inside the Woro was the Holy enchanted axe of slaying things that are the result of unsanitary humans
catching a post apocalyptic virus and curing them so that they can go and catch another post
apocalyptic virus (HEAoSTtatRoUHCaPAVaCTsttcGaCAPAV, or Heast). He didn t, unfortunately,
connect his house to the Woro, so he couldn t just use his transporter to get there. He would have to
use his antique hover board. On the way there, he used his zombie detection mechanism to detect
nearby zombies. Much to his dismay, he found that the Kfk virus victims were everywhere! He picked
off as many as he could, but then he noticed that they were heading to the Woro to probably destroy
the Heast. He activated turbo booster to get there ASAP. When he was only a few hundred yards from
the Woro, one of the Kfk virus victims leapt up and katana sliced the hover board. Jimmy fell to the
ground, and the Kfk virus victim loomed over him. Time to test a newer invention. He pressed a
button on his wristwatch, and it extended into a full sized Adamantium glaive. He swung and the Kfk

Cooperation And The Requirement Of Stronger Enforcement
cooperation and the requirement of stronger enforcement or more systematic dispute settlement
mechanism. My second hypothesis is that international institutions or treaties of members of
significantly asymmetric national capability will have a stronger dispute settlement mechanism. That
is to say, In other words, an institution that contains asymmetry of power in terms of national capacity,
military capacity, economic capability, and legal resources should have stronger DSMs. In this
situation, powerful states might seek for stronger DSMs for gaining advantage within institutions. The
underlying logic of this idea, based on Allee and Elsig is that many DSMs allow for both diplomatic
and legal dispute settlement, so powerful states can benefit from having a menu of dispute settlement
options that allows them to forum shop even within treaties. (Allee 97) Also, for weaker countries,
stronger DSMs can give weaker countries the equal chance to argue with more powerful countries
under certain framework. Strong DSMs provide relatively weaker countries such as Mexico has more
capability to confront with more powerful countries and boost their chance to win the confrontation.
To prove this hypothesis, I will find asymmetric countries in size and compare the agreements of these
asymmetric countries to some symmetric countries. The expected conclusion should be that agreement
with more heterogeneous countries would have stronger DSM. There are many existing cases can
prove this

Examples Of What Are The Strengths Of The Sirens
The Sirens are beautiful and magical creatures. They have many abilities and have experienced many
things. The Sirens have plenty of strengths, and have faced many conflicts. They also use their
strengths to attract their prey. The Sirens have many strengths. They have the ability to use a singing
spell to attract any man within earshot to the Sirens. Once the man has reached them, they make the
man think they are extremely attractive, and then eat the man while he is vulnerable. This shows that
the Sirens have great power over any man. The Sirens also have experience in conflict. The Sirens
fight against the man s will to resist the Sirens magical song. They fought against Odysseus s idea of
using ear wax so his men were unable

Meno Essay
There is not a great deal of context that is crucial to understanding the essential themes of the Meno,
largely because the dialogue sits nearly at the beginning of western philosophy. Socrates and Plato are
working not so much in the context of previous philosophies as in the context of the lack of them.
Further, this is very probably one of Plato s earliest surviving dialogues, set in about 402 BCE (by
extension, we might presume that it represents Socrates at a relatively early stage in his own thought).
Nonetheless, in order to understand the aims and achievements of the dialogue, it helps to keep in
mind some details about this lack of previous philosophies.
Since neither virtue nor any other concept has yet been defined in the way ... Show more content on

If Meno is something of a dummy for aristocratic Sophist sympathizers, Anytus is even more clearly a
stand in for the somber, unconsidered values of the Athenian political elite. An actual historical
politician of the time, he s grumpy, largely closed to new ideas, and insistent on inherited, class based
customs as the vehicle for virtue he suggests that any quot;gentleman quot; on the streets of Athens is
a fine example of virtue. Anytus, an Athenian conservative, despises the Sophists. Like other
prominent Athenians at the time, he is probably suspicious of the Sophists cleverness with words and
their tendency to lead young followers away from success in worldly matters. Socrates encounters this
idea that philosophy is a corrupting influence in many of his dialogues, and that perception will
eventually lead to his trial and execution for quot;corrupting the youth. quot; Thus, Plato is all the
more determined to highlight Socrates profound differences from the Sophists.
We should note briefly the basic form of the Platonic dialogues: Plato, Socrates student, has written a
kind of play, re enacting the way in which Socrates practiced his philosophy (he did not write it down,
but simply argued on the streets). In reading the summary contained on this site, it may not always be
clear that Socrates is constantly asking questions of Meno, and only rarely offering

The Demise Of Earth s Doomsday
An ongoing, redeveloping, catalyst ensuing catastrophe known as The End of the World as We Know
it has been hypothesized since humanity s humble beginnings that predicts the apocalyptic theories for
mass extinction, earth crumbling events possibly dictating the end of the world. So far, all theories:
scientific, religious, or phenomena related, who yield a specific date for the end of the world have
been debunked; creation of this essay would not exist otherwise. It is what looms in the future that
theorists and educators such as Dr. F. Kenton Beshore and David Powell understand to be the demise
of Earth s doomsday. President of the World Bible Society, Beshore, has calculated the Rapture to
occur on or before 2021 with the Second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the Tribulation phase, believers who have denied the Mark of the Beast meet Jesus in the
air where they return to earth for the Second Coming. This phase is a parallel to the Judgement Day, in
which the removal of unbelievers who received their mark are cast into the pit of hell for eternity.
Powell s theory states that the Sun will swell extremely in or around five billion years from now. The
sun s atmosphere becoming increasingly unstable due to reduction of the burning of hydrogen. The
reduction of hydrogen in the atmosphere eventually reaches its lowest point and the swelling of the
sun as a result envelopes the Earth and its Moon (SPACE.com). This process of hydrogen reduction
and the swelling of the sun is called The Red Giant Phase. There are a few phases to this theory which
include the raising of the tides of Earth s oceans, because rotation forces cause the Earth to rotate

The Concepts Of Carbon Emissions Pinch Analysis
The concepts of Carbon Emissions Pinch Analysis (CEPA) techniques and Energy Return of
Investment (EROI), with special attention to the methodology and system boundaries of EROI
analysis have been reviewed in this literature. The analyses of EROI results for different fuel types
especially EROI results of hydropower plants are also presented. The essential features of storage type
hydropower plants also have been generally discussed as an important part of EROI s Energy input
calculation. Special attention will now be given to the hydropower resources in Myanmar in Chapter 3
and the detailed discussion of storage type hydropower plants will be addressed. Chapter 3
Hydropower Resources in Myanmar 3.1 Introduction Myanmar has tremendous hydropower potential;
however the majority of this potential has remained undeveloped due to the economic and political
disturbances. The technical feasible potential from the major rivers and other potential water resources
support the country as one of the renewable energy rich countries amongst its neighbouring, energy
demand countries especially China, and India. Due to the increase in electricity demand of the
domestic and cross border regional energy trade issues (Kattelus et al., 2015), the necessities for the
extraction of the large hydropower resources should be fulfilled from the geopolitical perspective. In
this chapter, the current situation and future potentials of hydropower resources basically storage type

Social And Social Repercussions Of The Sugar Lifestyle
Social and personal repercussions of the sugar lifestyle:
The personal impact on a sugar baby is multi faceted. There are many aspects of her life that are
irreversibly changed by their decision to pursue a sugar relationship as a form of income. The
ramifications of their choices emerge in unforeseen ways. The social and personal repercussions range
from perceptions of the self and those around them, to their feeling towards others.
One of the strongest themes that comes through through the research is this idea of commodifying
emotion to provide financially. In literature and interviews it came through strongly that being able to
perform emotional labour (reference) was a fundamental portion of participating in a sugar dating
relationship. It was necessary to be emotionally accommodating to the sugar daddy or mamma. Each
individual person had a different expectation of themselves as to how much emotional labour they
could perform. Many of the sugar babies opinions coincided and agreed that they were more
comfortable having a sugar daddy that they had a natural connection with because the amount of
emotional labour they would have to perform would be diminished.
Personal repercussions of the sugar lifestyle ran deep in women discussion. Primarily they centred
around the feelings of guilt and shame they felt towards their life choice. There were a multitude
reasons for this a lot of them stemming from social censorship by their families and friends. They also
felt like it was a secret they had to keep. For some they were prepared to trusted individuals (Sophie),
for others they did not share their stories until they had finished with their sugar baby lifestyle (Sarah).
This demonstrate the power of the social stigma towards sugar dating for young men and women as a
means of income.
The emotional elements of engaging in a sugar relationship run beyond the social stigma. For some of
the women they found their dependency on their sugar daddies to be daunting, that was their only
means of income. In 2013 ABC Nightline interviewed a sugar baby and daddy duo called Monty (21)
and Tommy (63) about their specific arrangement. It become clear throughout the interview that for
Monty there is an element of

Texas Women’s Health Program
The Texas Women s Health Program has start off on a foot of controversial opinions, personal ideals,
and questionable authority, and with these comes thousands of critiques, arguments, and overall
complaints for the program as a whole. The two prominent sides to this story, those who are for the
bill and those who are not, both have their own motives and reasons for their beliefs, and I am not
different. Biases exist in any opinion, and they become more evident in accordance to how
controversial that opinion is, yet I will try my best to break down arguments to their core evidence to
best formulate and improve my own opinion. On the side of those who not only advocate the bill but
created it there is a very complicated idealism rooted in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This tiered system sets up privileges that are difficult, if not impossible, to break out of. Even before
the cuts less than 20% of women in need... were served... out of the 1.7 million women in need

before, create the ideal world without abortion has succeed in undermining the health and safety of the
individuals within the state. The benefits of this bill help little to no one as people are forced to
conform based around moral ideals. Now here is where the issue becomes convoluted, because it
surprisingly needs to be argued that the entire backbone to the abortion debate is grounded in moral
high ground authority. Rick Perry claims that a baby can feel the pain of being killed and that we [the
state] have an obligation to end that type of cruelty, (Smith, 2013) yet there is little to no evidence that
a fetus can feel pain inside the womb as it lacks the developed nervous system to feel anything. Basic
reflexes are available to be seen but where this pain comes in has no scientific evidence, and to base
an entire law over the concept of pain and morality rather than actual irrefutable evidence is a stance
best kept in ancient times that lacked modern science.
This moral connection to human life and innocence of children can be seen further connected in Texas
new sonogram law, which requires that a woman seeking an

Bowling For Columbine Gun Violence Analysis
The Influence of Gun Violence in America Will there ever be an end to gun violence? Bowling for
Columbine is a documentary by Michael Moore that demonstrates how gun violence is transforming
America into a dangerous country. Michael Moore plays with the emotions of the American public by
centering his documentary on the tragedy of Columbine. He explores the reasons as to why gun
violence is at an all time high in America by listing his ideas in a personal way rather than being
professional like in most documentaries. However, the way that he directs his film captured my
attention and made me question as to why there is so much gun violence in America. Although, the
film does center on the affects of Columbine, Moore looks deeper into the cause of gun violence. His
documentary style is to hit the emotions of the public and to wrap the facts into his point of view.
Some of the interviews that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just by connecting his title to the Columbine incident, he is using Ad Miscordium, an emotional
manipulation. This helps with getting the support of people who have children or those who remember
the incident. The first half of the movie was filled with the patriotic approach of argumentum ad
populum. Many of the interviewees defended their gun carrying with their right of arms. That it was
their duty to protect the ones they love and to be equipped for their safety. When they were asked
about just contacting the police a woman declared that it was better to cut out the middle man and
protect their own. When the cause of Columbine was approached every reason was a hasty
generalization. For example, when the public, mainly the religious groups, blamed Marilyn Manson as
the cause of why the two boys inflicted violence at Columbine. On the other hand, I do believe that
Moore could have done more research for the film instead of forcing emotion throughout the entire

Isolation In Richard Matheson s I Am Legend
The French novelist, Jules Verne stated; solitude, isolation, are painful things and beyond human
endurance. Here, Verne notes that being confined to isolation is an experience that humans are
incapable of performing. Humans are social creatures, who need company and interactions with
others. In Richard Matheson s dystopian fiction, I Am Legend, Robert Neville s isolation is the result
of a pandemic. In I Am Legend, Robert Neville, the sole survivor of a vampiric plague, is left alone.
Neville is forced to pursue his life and live among the infected. He longs to find a cure or a companion
to fill the emptiness. But, the vampires pose a constant obstacle alongside his depression and
alcoholism. He obtains book carries out research set with the goal of finding a cure for the virus.

inside of Neville s house, for instance, are a symbolic escape. Neither of the murals depicted any
human beings, so they reinforced his feelings of isolation. The murals act as a life force...[and have]...
a tangible, mind controlling potency... Roberts house is another symbol. The house symbolizes
protection and acts as a barricade. While the vampires wait on the lawn Robert is protected within his
safe haven. His home is the only connection he has to his deceased family members. Inside his home
he can research and continue to find the cause of the mutation that has turned the population into
monsters. A last symbolic element is when Robert finds the dog. The dog symbolizes hope that
Neville is not alone and that there may be more beings that have survived like him. Shortly after
Neville befriends the dog it dies. Furthermore adding to the symbol; now creating the loss of hope.
Although these symbols are different together they convey the theme of alienation and the hope that
Neville has of surviving by finding a

Dwelling in Possibilities Analysis Essay
Rhetorical Analysis Is our youth doomed? Mark Edmundson begs this question in his essay, Dwelling
in Possibilities. His essay explains how the lives of young people have changed drastically over the
years. Edmundson, professor at the University of Virginia, says his students are constantly going and
that they never stop; they never settle in fear of missing something great. In lieu of this, Edmundson
says that they are, victims of their own hunger for speed (Edmundson2). He also adds that his
students, and young people in general, use today s technology to be everywhere at once (watching a
movie, instant messaging, talking on the phone, and glancing at a textbook) and are therefore, not
anywhere in particular (Edmundson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, again, that is debatable and an author can never go wrong by proposing a solution when writing
to persuade. Besides omitting a solution, Edmundson does an excellent job persuading his readers,
especially with the use of references. Most writers, when writing to persuade, include facts and
statistics to support their viewpoint. Edmundson, however, refers to authors, and very famous ones at
that. This is a very successful method because his whole argument has to do with the lack of culture,
art, and writing, in today s youth. Referencing these authors really helps the reader to sense where he
is coming from and helps them to sense his passion for literature. Some of the authors referenced
include: Thoreau, Immanuel Kant, Gertrude Stein, Nietzche, Lord Byron, Wordsworth, and Emerson.
One reference, in particular, serves as an excellent example of how Edmundson s references are
successful in getting his point across. He compares youth to the contrasting Byron and Wordsworth,
Byron to how his students are today, and Wordsworth to how it ought to be. He states that Byron
wished to never be bored, as does today s youth (Edmundson 11). Edmundson also mentions, students
now are Romantics of a Byronic sort, and that, he would have adored their world of fast travel, fast
communication, and fast relationships (Edmundson 11). In contrast to Byron and today s youth,
Edmundson says that

ABSTRACT The recent study of metal matrix composite mainly deals with the aluminum based
composites with the reinforcement of particulates of silicon carbide and aluminum based composites
with the reinforcement of particulates of graphite which will be function as solid lubricant. In this
paper, two sets of composites has been prepared. One composite consists of Aluminium with graphite
and silicon carbide particles and the other composite consists of Aluminium with alumina and
Graphite. The composited has been prepared by stir casting method and both the samples tested for the
mechanical properties. The mechanical properties were compared for both the composites and
validated. The microstructure of the both composites were examined using Scanning Electron
microscope (SEM).
INTRODUCTION
The latest development of advanced materials focuses on the light weight with less cost products to
meet the required function with the required increase in demand. To achieve this, Metal Matrix
Composites (MMC) are mostly preferable since having excellent mechanical and wear resistance
properties. In this project, Particulate reinforced hybrid composites are used because of lesser cost

from the opening statement of the Nurse that Medea is a very heartless towards anyone who has

Analysis Of Jhumpa Lahiri s The Namesake The Question Raises
A cultural identity is something that in a way defines who we are to other people. Cultural and ethnic
identity is not only our background, it also showcases our parents and relatives background which
connects us through familiarity of customs. In Jhumpa Lahiri s The Namesake the question raises,
does one s cultural identity change? In this formal writing I will discuss Ashima s journey through life
and how she came to accept America and its customs. Ashima Ganguli is the mother of our
protagonist Gogol and one of the more interesting characters in the book. Ashima is a typical Bengali
in a sense of staying loyal to her customs and way of life. She grew up in Calcutta where she was
pursuing a college degree before she was married to Ashoke. Ashima was 19 at the time she met
Ashoke, the third in as many months, marriage meeting which her mother set up for the slight chance
she would marry. Ashoke was different from the others, the way he dressed and presented himself was
foreign to her. Ashoke s shoes opened a bit of curiosity within Ashima when she saw them. Ashima
stated, she noticed... a pair of men s shoes that were not like any she d seen on the streets, trams and

overwhelming urge, stepped into the shoes at her feet. Ashima was unable to resist the foreign element
that Ashoke had around him. Quickly after meeting him, she was married and, eight thousand miles

Circuit City Failure Essay
There are two main causes of the failure of Circuit City: First, the company was too goal oriented and
aggressive on winning the sales. According to the approach that the company used, Circuit City
opened a number of large stores at once in the same region, which definitely creates cannibalization. It
pushed so hard on the sale ignored the internal competition between each store. Also, consumers were
tired about the heavy advertising and found Best Buy more comfortable and friendly to shop with. As
a result, Circuit City s 600 stores posted an annual loss of $89.3 million by the end of 2003. Second,
the company did not stop and think about how to regain its market, but quickly fell into the flat screen
price war without clear positioning. It did not realize that nearly 44 percent of its revenues came from
TV sales, and if they did not pay enough attention and carefully make decisions on this product, the
company would be so to eroding margins! Circuit City focused too much on the sales and paid no
attention on analyzing, predicting, and reacting to the market change. Therefore, when the sale
dropped, it had to lowered the price as other competitors did, and resulted by a huge loss on profit.

Calpurnia Character Analysis
Calpurnia Character Analysis Calpurnia, or Cal , was the Finch s African American housekeeper and
cook. Her being a black, middle aged woman in a white dominated society, we can already infer she
has experienced great racial injustices. Throughout the novel, we see significant and noticeable
changes in the main characters, but scarce development in Calpurnia´s character. Before you discard
this essay on what was supposed to be about a chosen character changing due to social and racial
injustices throughout the book, give the thesis ample thought. Scout is the narrator of the book,

Around this time in the book, classmates and neighbors started talking about Atticus defending Tom
Robinson. Cal is mellifluous and gentle towards Jem in some instances. For example, after Jem
wrecks Mrs. Dubose s camellia flowers, and the kids were skulking, Calpurnia understood that Jem
was distressed, and gave him a hot biscuit and butter. One may argue this is the beginning of a change
in Calpurnia, but we may look at it as Cal just being a mom. One can refute the argument of change
that Scout is just beginning to see the good side of her and why Cal does what she does. She has
already gone through the phases with her own children, and know how it is herself growing up. Jem is
starting to grow up in the middle of the novel. This is evident by Scout s overwhelming frustration
with Jem in the quote, His maddening superiority was unbearable these days. He didn t want to do
anything but read and go off by himself. (Lee 184) Calpurnia, being the experienced mother/caregiver
she is, had seen that, and started giving Jem his space, and started calling him Mister Jem . Scout

Apollo Shoes Case Study
OVERVIEW Apollo Shoes Inc. is a medium sized corporation. It has over 100 employees organized in
five department including Marketing, Finance, Information Systems, Operations, and Legal Affairs.
Apollo is a distributor of a technologically superior athletic product. Siren, Spotlight and Speakershoe
are Apollo s premiere brands. Their products are shipped to large and small retailers across a six state
area. INDUSTRY This year was difficult for all businesses. Due to conflicts in foreign countries and
uncertainty with the Federal Reserve s adjustments of interest rates, consumer confidence has been
greatly affected. Fewer consumers are buying Apollo Shoe s state of the art athletic equipment. All of
their operating divisions were severely tested and sales were not as strong as anticipated.
PREDECESSOR AUDITOR Apollo Shoe s management declined our request to communicate with
the predecessor auditor. The prior auditors, Smith Smith, CPAs, unexpectedly withdrew from their
engagement with Apollo Shoes Inc, and a lawsuit was filed shortly thereafter. The authority to speak
with the client s predecessor auditor would have been a great source of reliable information
concerning the client, and their refusal to allow communication is grounds for a heightened risk
assessment. RISK ASSESSMENT Internal Control: The Apollo Shoe s management has not kept its
business manual up to date. Several issues, such as classifying sales and authorization, have not been
outlined in

Punishment Utilitarianism
If the offender of the law is indeed worthy of being punished, how then would utilitarianism justify
the degree to which the individual is punished? With the ultimate ends to punishment being the
promotion of the greatest good, the proportions to which coercive force is used are determined via
subordinate ends. These subordinate ends define the punishment as only positive as a response to the
initial crime the secondary act of evilness by punishment is what allows the injustice of the crime to
be righted, inducing the prospect of a brighter future. Bentham goes on to suggest that these
proportions must ensure that the offender loses the motivation to commit future mischief, must be
proportionate to the extremeness of the act committed (by

Femininity In Brazil
Brazil is a large country: not only does its population of 205,823, 655 (Central Intelligence Agency)
make it the fifth most populous country worldwide ( Countries ), but it is also vast with regards to its
cultural diversity. Three centuries under Portuguese colonialism and historic waves of immigration
have contributed to Brazil s overall culture demonstrating what it means to be a cultural melting pot.
As Brazilian society draws from multiple cultures, it will be particularly important to understand the
interaction of these cultures in creating intercultural barriers, and how to utilize conflict strategies to
overcome them when proposing a student exchange program to Brazilian dignitaries.

Author s Exploration And Nature Of Nature In Pilgrim At...
Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, published in 1974, is a nonfiction book written by Annie Dillard. The book is
a collection of fifteen interconnected essays about author s exploration and thoughts on nature. The
narrative takes place at Tinker Creek in Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Dillard wrote about her
pilgrim, her religious journey that took place over the period of one year. The book can be divided in
two parts. In the first part the author is being amazed while exploring the beauty of nature and talking
about the positive sides of the world while in the second part author focuses on the dark sides of
nature.

Habits of the Mind
Habits of Mind The habits of mind might better be termed the habits of a perfected mind since most
have not acquired all of these habits. The two selected for this paper are persistence and precision.
Both are difficult to embed because they require disciple and mental toughness. This paper discusses
the connection between the two and how they can be defeated if a student is distracted from them.
Persistence and precision are habits of mind that require many of the same skills to acquire.
Persistence is defined as sticking to a task until it is completed (Costa Kallick, 2008). It is the ability
to fail and to continue pressing towards a goal despite continuous rejection of the effort. People who
have this trait are not afraid of the outcome of a single endeavor, but press on until they are successful.
Having precision of language and thought is striving to communicate accurately in both written and
oral form, taking care to use precise language; defining terms; and using correct names, labels and
analogies (Costa Kallick, 2008). This ability is fostered by a mind that wants to ensure that it is
communicating thoughts clearly so that they are not misunderstood. It is also a skill that takes a great
deal of determination and discipline to perfect. These two skills can be innate, in a very few people,
but by the majority they are acquired (Watts, 2012). Thinking clearly is the first step to
communicating clearly, and this leads to the ability to accomplish tasks. A

Food Justice And Food Retail
All food should be available to all people. The concept of this is dwelled on in the article, Food justice
and Food retail in Los Angeles by Mark Valliantos. Throughout the article, Valliantos maintains the
notion that healthy food should be within everyone s reach, yet inner cities are still suffering from
shortages of fresh produce. To see this issue in action, Valliantos documented this reoccurring
phenomenon in Los Angeles. The author gives a description of two areas within the city of Los
Angeles, and how they are economically divided based on the amount of healthy produce one has at
its disposal. He makes note of programs that already exist to help low income families receive healthy
foods that they could not afford. He also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lower income, however, has a very small supply of fresh produce at its disposal. Grocery stores
such as Wal Mart are stationed in the lower income portion of the city because the store has a large
selection of lower priced goods. Agricultural workers such as famers would not sell their goods in this
area because their profit would be too low to even be considered profit. In most cases, the only place
to shop for food in the lower income portion of the city, are either convenient stores or liquor stores.
There are more fast food joints, than restaurants and local pop up stands barely sell anything fresh.
Not only is the city divided based on income, but its also due to race. The author makes note of this
when he addresses volatile events such as the Rodney King Riots. He then points out that minorities
suffer the most when it comes to fresh food availability. There are actions that are being taken today,
to help increase the number of supermarkets that are available in low inner city areas. By appealing to
ethos, Valliantos is able to get his point of view across to the reader. Throughout the article, Valliantos
uses ethos to describe how the Center for Food and Justice took over responsibility for Project Café.
He then uses this to cooperate with members of the community. By being a part of the Center for Food
and Justice organization, Valliantos is able to speak to the ethical side of the

Cruel And Unusual Punishment
The cruel and unusual punishment provision is that the law must treat all criminals with dignity even
the most despicable ones. Any sentence that is taking lives instead of rehabilitating is cruel and
unusual and infringes the decency of society. The corrections system helps rehabilitate inmates
through individual or group counseling about the cause of incarceration. They train them with suitable
skills programs, such as how to prepare a job application and to interviews, and the importance of
maintaining a steady employment to support family responsibilities. They help the inmates through
educational programs to achieve a higher education while in prison and to succeed economically and
live a healthier lifestyle outside of prison. The corrections system hopes with new skills incorporated;
they will be able to be more productive. Keeping them engaged with medical and psychiatric
treatment will keep them mentally stable for their reentry into the community. James Gilligan (2012),
a Psychiatry Professor at NewYork University, stated that Two thirds of inmates reoffending within
three years with more violent crimes after leaving prison which means incarceration for punishment
does not work positively. Inflicting punishment on convicts for pay back only makes them more
empowered criminals. Rehabilitation is the only key to reducing crimes because a regenerated person
is more conscious of how their behaviors cause their loved ones and others around them to suffer.

Justness Of Corporal Punishment
Since the ancient human times, corporal punishment has been one of the most popular methods
parents have used on enforcing their tutelage onto their children. Corporal punishment is defined as
the physical punishment that parents use on their children to enforce rules. The act is seen as
something of the past in 48 countries around the world, but for Canada. This is because they still have
not resolved it in their legal systems, for Canada this law being the infamous Section 43. Even though
it was implemented for the protection of parents and teachers from prosecution because of minor
disciplining, it really is an excuse for violence against children. In this generation, the justness and
effectiveness of corporal punishment have come into question, which is what this writing piece aims
to further delve into.
While anthropology may not be the most obvious study connected to corporal punishment, the two
topics are more related than most people think. As humans, we have a sense of morals and values, and
the understanding of our culture s changes is vital to understanding our shift in values. From an
anthropological point of view, corporal punishment would be focused on what caused humanity s shift
in values when it came to the justness of corporal punishment? . Based on the evidence, the answer to
this would be if humanity has a recent change in values when it comes to corporal punishment, then it
is because of the recent boost of awareness different cultures have gained in

Analysis Of The Hunger Games
In general, Stereotyping affect not only the youth of today but also other individuals. An individual
can be stereotyped based on race, skin color, class warfare or gender. The book, The Hunger Games,
which is now a well known movie, demonstrates how stereotyping can happen to any individual. In
The Hunger Games, Katniss is affected by stereotypes. Being a citizen from District 12, her
appearance and being a female affects the way the Capitol distinguishes her.
District 12 is the poorest district in Panem and everyone expects for the tributes to act as savages and
criminals. During the opening ceremonies, Katniss reminisces about the past tributes clothing. Since
District 12 s principal industry is coal mining, the past tributes have attended the opening ceremony
naked covered in black powder to represent coal dust or skimpy outfits and hats with headlamps (The
Hunger Games 66). District 12 tributes are judged by the Capitol and the stylist judged them based on
where they are from. The past stylists do not put any effort in designing their clothing since District 12
tributes already look worn out and dirty. Typically, everyone in the Capitol judges Katniss and Peeta
because they are from a poorer side of Panem.
By stereotyping, we infer that a person has a whole range of characteristics and abilities that we
assume all members of that group have. It leads to social categorization which is one of the reasons for
prejudice attitudes (Mclead). There are plenty of young

How Representativeness, Familiarity, And Social...
Introduction
The purpose of this written assignment is to examine and study how representativeness, familiarity,
and social interactions are convoluted in the pronouncements of an investor, and how these
comportments can lead to stock market bubbles. There will be three source materials provided to assist
with this information, including excerpt from our weekly materials and the textbook, which includes
chapters eight and nine.
Representativeness
The first source of information is from the stockmarketinvesting.com website, which discusses the
assumptions that are related to representativeness in a few examples. The first example is with people,
how we assume a person is good or bad based on a few qualities, and based on a quick ... Show more

This information combines the heuristics, which are simple rules used to make judgements, and
representativeness, which is the extent to which an event is representative of its parent population.
This amounts to the reliance on representativeness heuristic, which can be mistakenly used to
erroneously magistrate something to seem more representative than it should be (Representativeness
heuristic Breaking Down Finance, n.d., para. 1 7).
The main point I received from the source material in this particular case is that investors may tend to
follow trends in the stock market. However, due to the representativeness heuristic instances,
forecasting a future trend is much more difficult than following a current one. The success of
following the current trend is also something to keep in mind because it takes diligence to be able to
see what is actually a trend or a slight change in the sequence of events in the stock performance.
Based on this information, I believe it is best for an investor to be able to take a step back upon
evaluating a stock market trend or stock performance, and really look at what is changing/not
changing, as far as the stock prices are concerned. This will be helpful in being able to withstand a
loss or in contrary reaping the benefits of a stock purchase gain. The relation between the two sources
so far have been that there can be random occurrences in the stock

The Value Of Education
Education should be valued to the highest extent. Education is how we obtain knowledge about our
surrounding. Education gives us a perspective on issues, politics, and on life in general. Education
allows us to interpret things in uniques that we didn t imagine were possible. Most importantly,
education gives us a platform to change the world. Without education, many people would be lost.
Education is a delicate process that should be handled with care. Educators have the abilities to form
knowledge within their students. Some of them use their abilities to the fullest power, while others
completely abuse their abilities. As an 18 year old college student, I have come across both kinds of
educators, even though I wish I had not. In my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about The Perpetual Battle Against Censorship
There is more than one way to burn a book, (176) says Ray Bradbury when explaining the reason he
wrote Fahrenheit 451. Bradbury at the time was upset about condensed books , or books which had
been simplified for easier reading. Luckily, this fad seems to have passed. However, he was also upset
about people who wrote asking him to change the role of women or African Americans to make them
more or less dominant in some of his works. One of the major themes in Fahrenheit 451 was just that;
a society where everyone got what they wished and literature was eliminated entirely so it wouldn t
offend anyone. Sadly, this still continues to happen in the United States. Many books have been
banned from school and public libraries because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the ACLU, this applies not only to pure speech (books, newspapers, leaflets, and rallies),
but also nonverbal expressions that communicate ideas ( ACLU . . . ). To take the good with the bad,
not only does it protect popular ideas, but also ideas expressed by hate groups and those against the
government. The only exceptions that have ever been made to the first amendment are the two
Supreme Court cases Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire (1942) and New York Times v. Sullivan (1964) (
ACLU . . . ). In the Chaplinsky case, the court ruled that free speech was not protected if the speech
was fighting words or words meant to provoke the person to whom they are addressed ( ACLU . . . ).
In the case of New York Times v. Sullivan, the Supreme Court ruled that free speech is also not
protected when it is slander against public officials ( ACLU . . . ). Mostly however, these two Supreme
Court cases apply only to journalism, as most classic and contemporary literature is not directed
simply at one person. Despite all this protection, the decision to ban books from libraries is largely left
up to the schools and institutions themselves ( Banned Books Online ), and a federal ban is very rare,
practically nonexistent today.
If we have the first amendment, then why are books still federally banned? There is a U.S. law that
forbids the trade of obscene literature, or articles of immoral use

Ethical Principle
In research studies with human and animal participation, researchers must adhere to ethical principles
to ensure the rights of participants are protected. In 1978, the Belmont Report was issued which
articulated three primary ethical principles on which standards of ethical research conduct was based:
beneficence, respect for human dignity, and justice ( Polit Beck, 2014, p. 83). These ethical principles
remain the standards for research behavior today.
Finally, the following paragraphs will break down each ethical principle and then will take a look at a

White Males And The American Writers
In this nature writing course and in all my literature courses there haven t been many African
American writers represented. This isn t because they don t exist, but because the more commonly
known writers have the attributes of being more respected, and are widely accepted writers in
American literature, who majority of the time are white males like Thoreau and Leopold. These are
just examples, and they are good writers but there are also good African American writers that deserve
just as much representation when teaching college courses. There s a greater choice of writers besides
having the same works of authors we ve already read throughout our experience in studying literature.
There needs to be a better variety of cultures represented in literature, white males shouldn t always be
the most read and studied authors in public institutions. Minorities should be represented too,
especially African American writers since they played such a great role in the American history, and
endured so much oppression from the society they ve lived in. In this course, Nature Writing at
metropolitan University, we had a variety of different races, but the Black race didn t get the
representation they deserved. There was a writing titled, from a black boy by Wright, and it wasn t a
good representation of Black writers in America. I remember reading it and questioning what I just

Race, Incarceration, And American Values Essay
A Summary of Race, Incarceration, and American Values
The book Race, Incarceration, and American Values describes mass incarceration as essentially a
legalized form of genocide that is slowly destroying the fiber of African American families and
communities. It provides explanations for the origin of mass incarceration as well as the reasons for
the disproportionate level of African Americans in the prison system. Glenn Loury, along with Pamela
Karian, Tommie Shelby, and Loic Wacquant discuss how America has let fear and greed cause an
inequitable landscape for citizens who have the misfortune of being born the wrong color and of the
wrong social economic class. The principals of equality and freedom on which America was founded
has become nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Maybe the pride America displays to the World as
a Global power incapable of wrong doing is what is holding it back from recognizing the mistakes it
made and undergoing to process of change. Or, maybe it is what we fear most. It is what we know in
our heads and hearts; but never dared to say. That it is a careful crafted system to keep those with
power in power!
Glenn Loury explains why incarceration became so popular and how it affects the African American
community more than all others. The early 1990s was dubbed the age of crime, fueled by drive by
shootings, drug deals gone bad, crack cocaine, and gangster rap. Crime became the new social hot

Is Seagram A Long History Of Success From The Company And...
Definition of Project: Seagram has enjoyed a long history of success from its inception in 1924 with a
single distillery in Canada to a world wise company. During this timeframe, global recognition has
afforded Seagram the opportunity to grow to 14,000 employees as well as creatively diversify in a
manner than many companies could not imagine. Unique purchases of oil companies as well as what
some might argue to be more logical partnerships like fruit juices such as Dole Food Company, Inc.
created continued accomplishments that would shore up the company and create a secure future. In
addition calculated investments with DuPont, MCA Inc., which includes Universal Studios and them
parks as well as electric companies build an impressive portfolio for Seagram as well. We know that
highly diversified organizations are more successful, firms whose business units are highly related to
each other, such as in a focused company, are outperformed by those whose business units are
moderately unrelated to each other (Graham, 2012, p.14). Although this argument makes little sense,
Seagram has, for years, experienced the benefits of being highly diversified. With the strength of
diversification Seagram has created over its long life offers a firm foundation for future growth and
stability. The objective of this current project is to evaluate the assets and design a plan that will utilize
the strengths of the organization while shoring up new systems to realign Seagram for maximum
growth

Style Theory of Leadership
According to Harold Koontz, leadership is defined as an art or process of influencing people so that
they strive willingly and enthusiastically towards attainment of group goals .
According to Yukl (1994), leadership is a process which one member of a group influences other
group members towards attainment of specific group goals .
Thus, leadership is a process of influencing the behavior of people by making them strive voluntarily
towards achievement of organizational goals. The above definition focuses on certain important
features of leadership Leadership indicates ability of an individual to influence others It is a group

Specifically, consideration was more strongly related to the individual. In other words, the followers
or leaders who were high in consideration were more satisfied with their jobs and more motivated and
also had more respect for their leader. Initiating structure was more related to higher levels of group
and organizational productivity and more positive performance evaluations.
In a large correlational study, Fleishman and Harris (1962) reported that turnover rate was negatively
correlated with consideration, and positively associated with initiating structure, although they
emphasized the nonlinearity of the relationships. Also grievance rates are higher when leaders are high
on initiation. There appear to be certain critical levels beyond which increased Consideration or
decreased Initiating Structure have no effect on turnover or grievance rate. In a summary of literature,
Yukl (1989) reports that the effect of consideration has been confirmed, but the results of studies on
initiating structure have not been clear or consistent.

A Case For Change HTF s IT Project Management Process Standardization
Executive Summary
This document describes the proposal of creating a new EPMO organization within HTF

including those for software development. HTF s (Hypothetical Financials) different LOBs currently
follow various flavors of SDLC models for software development and project management processes
and it is known the firm was too big to adopt quick process changes. The creation of an EMPO

However, currently the firm lacks standard processes around development and project management.
Each line of business has its own proprietary or derived methodologies built on top of the Waterfall
model. There s not an official standard at firm level nor there s an EMPO like organization responsible
for standardization. The level of maturity in the project management process is different too across
different LOBs. For example, some LOBs requires project managers to write business cases (BC) and
go through approval processes before a project can be created inside a project management system.
Some LOBs do not or simply adopted manual process in the approval of business cases. That means
that the business case are not required to be entered in the BC system. Some LOBs have standard
project template for PMs to use and others do not. Another example of varied maturity is around the
artifact/document management. Different tools are used for documents (e.g. requirements and design
documents). Some LOBs are using Microsoft SharePoint as a central repository but some simply use a
network drive. Developers also follow different processes in managing source code. Some use
standard tools such as Subversion to manage source code and following the best practices, some
simply keeps their source code on the development servers.
As a global financial organization, HTF s various lines of businesses (LOB) have been operating in a
very independent way. Each LOB also

A Short Story on a Child Who Was Born in the Village of...
Once upon a time, an effervescent baby boy was born in India on an auspicious day. He was born on
the same day as the birthday of the blue skinned, flute playing Krishna. Naming after the God, his
parents were overjoyed that such a healthy son was born to them on such a propitious occasion. The

luck they were granted with, and happily took their son home to their bungalow in the village of

acclimated to its homey vibe. It was of the traditional sort, somewhat of a doughnut shape, with an

which is to have a direct impact on the E P activity in India and an indirect effect on the refining
sector. This is to promote the participation of foreign companies in India and have a check on the on
the rising crude bill. In India one of the major problems is the price control that the government has
over selling end products what this has done in that made refining companies less profitable even
though this is done in the larger interest of the nation. The government is also planning to put in
strategic petroleum reserve but this on paper as of now. For India to sustain its economic growth this
sector is to play a vital role and the government understands this and doing all to liberalize it the
fullest. #8195;
Industry Analysis
This sector has so far been dominated by public sector companies and now is getting a tang of
liberalization. The government has spoken about the export of refined oil products as this provides a
value addition in reducing the oil prices on

Fight-Or-Flight Responses
You Only Have Two Options, Which Will Determine Your Fate? Part of me wants to go up and
profess every part of my heart and soul for the world to see. Part of me wants to run now, never look
back, and create a new identity. Fear drives a fight or flight response. It is a natural instinct that helps
us become more alert when there is a potential threat. We either get away from it, or fight against it.
For a girl in terror, a country in defense, and refugees in war, making a choice when fear is involved
will direct one action, or the other. Fight or flight responses can be influenced off factors of the
situation. For example, let s say a girl walks into her bathroom. All is well until she discovers a
rattlesnake at her feet. Does she stomp on the snake s head, or does she make a run for it? If she has
sandals on, there is little chance that she will stomp on the snake and make a run for it, but if she has
steel toe boots on, she might be feeling a little more courageous. This is how the fight or flight
response works and is the most common reaction to fear. Luckily, she has steel toe boots and the
rattlesnake is now a weak opponent, making it easier for her to become victorious. Maybe we should
get more serious. Instead of a reptile in a house, say there are terrorists in a country. ... Show more

Fear can be managed based off of the situation and how it changes. There are times when fighting
against fear is a great solution, such as battling against a snake when odds are in your favor, or
fighting against terrorists with great strength, and there are other times when leaving the situation is
the only way to have a successful ending, like fleeing your own country until it is safe. Either way,
Fight or flight is the only two paths to any outcome when involved with fear. How will it determine
your

Leadership Autobiography
Sports have always been a major aspect of my life. My passion stems from my own parents who
played sports throughout their lives and encouraged their children to do so. Many of my earliest
memories are of me watching my brother play little league baseball and wanting nothing more than to
be on the field with him. This desire was what prompted me to sign up for softball. I have played
softball since the 3rd grade. Although this may sound cliché, it really has taught me the importance of
working as a team. One player cannot win the game, it takes the team to throw a runner out at first or
sacrifice bunt in order to score a run. From a leadership perspective, I have learned that in order to be
a good leader, you must lead by example first. It

The Theme Of Death In Disney Movies
The Circle of life The Lion King was definitely not the first Disney movies to contain death, but it was
the first to have a central theme around it. Children still sing The Circle of Life on repeat, however
back they never really think about the meaning behind the song, it was just another catchy Disney
song to a six year old. In this classic song people are taught about the fundamentals of death and how
its just one big circle. Death is a necessary part of life, world religions revolve around it, and it drives
people to accomplish more in life. One of the most common appearances of the topic death is in
religion. Holy books such as the Bible, the Vedas, and the Tripitaka, show many different views on
what death is and what happens to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the first reasons death is so important is because without death earth would have reached its
carrying capacity along time ago. Alan Watts a famous british philosopher once said If one person
dies, it is in a way honorable, because he s making room for others ( ). Watt s said that dying was
honorable which is very true. Through death current generations are leaving room for the next
generation and their contributions to the world. Improving the world is one of the main goals of
humans and many find comfort in knowing, as Jeffrey Kluger wrote in his Time Magazine Article,
that the world you re exiting is at least a bit richer than the one you found when you arrived ( ). One of
the most fulfilling things for a person to know before they die is that they have had some sort of
impact on the world around them, whether it be through the environment, animals, or the people
around them, it helps people feel like their death was more meaningful if they know they left a legacy
behind. Alan Watts once said that death is the source of life. We see this when the leaves fall from the
trees and they mold and wrot creating humus from which more plants can grow ( ). All around things
die but in the end death makes way for future

  • 2. Jimmy Jackson Jr Integrated Project: Here and Back Again and What Occurred After Jimmy Jackson Jr. awoke to the smell of danger. It is a strange smell, yet distinct, a little bit of fear mixed with a little bit of duty. Nonetheless, it awoke him from his 1969 suburbs home, where he groggily got up to reach for his long range Taser that he left by his bedside. You see, Jimmy Jackson Jr. was brilliant, no one knows where he came from, and all they know is that he was brilliant. Anyways, back to the story, his house was being robbed by not the brightest of robbers, or one who didn t whose house he was robbing. We may never know, because the next thing the robber remembered was lying in a cell. Nonetheless, Jimmy Jackson was up. His latest invention was a portable ... Inside the Woro was the Holy enchanted axe of slaying things that are the result of unsanitary humans catching a post apocalyptic virus and curing them so that they can go and catch another post apocalyptic virus (HEAoSTtatRoUHCaPAVaCTsttcGaCAPAV, or Heast). He didn t, unfortunately, connect his house to the Woro, so he couldn t just use his transporter to get there. He would have to use his antique hover board. • 3. Cooperation And The Requirement Of Stronger Enforcement cooperation and the requirement of stronger enforcement or more systematic dispute settlement mechanism. My second hypothesis is that international institutions or treaties of members of significantly asymmetric national capability will have a stronger dispute settlement mechanism. That is to say, In other words, an institution that contains asymmetry of power in terms of national capacity, military capacity, economic capability, and legal resources should have stronger DSMs. In this situation, powerful states might seek for stronger DSMs for gaining advantage within institutions. The underlying logic of this idea, based on Allee and Elsig is that many DSMs allow for both diplomatic and legal dispute settlement, so powerful states can benefit from having a menu of dispute settlement options that allows them to forum shop even within treaties. (Allee 97) Also, for weaker countries, stronger DSMs can give weaker countries the equal chance to argue with more powerful countries under certain framework. Strong DSMs provide relatively weaker countries such as Mexico has more capability to confront with more powerful countries and boost their chance to win the confrontation. To prove this hypothesis, I will find asymmetric countries in size and compare the agreements of these asymmetric countries to some symmetric countries. The expected conclusion should be that agreement with more heterogeneous countries would have stronger DSM. There are many existing cases can prove this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meno Essay There is not a great deal of context that is crucial to understanding the essential themes of the Meno, largely because the dialogue sits nearly at the beginning of western philosophy. Socrates and Plato are working not so much in the context of previous philosophies as in the context of the lack of them. Further, this is very probably one of Plato s earliest surviving dialogues, set in about 402 BCE (by extension, we might presume that it represents Socrates at a relatively early stage in his own thought). Nonetheless, in order to understand the aims and achievements of the dialogue, it helps to keep in mind some details about this lack of previous philosophies. If Meno is something of a dummy for aristocratic Sophist sympathizers, Anytus is even more clearly a stand in for the somber, unconsidered values of the Athenian political elite. An actual historical politician of the time, he s grumpy, largely closed to new ideas, and insistent on inherited, class based customs as the vehicle for virtue he suggests that any quot;gentleman quot; on the streets of Athens is a fine example of virtue. Anytus, an Athenian conservative, despises the Sophists. Like other prominent Athenians at the time, he is probably suspicious of the Sophists cleverness with words and their tendency to lead young followers away from success in worldly matters. Socrates encounters this idea that philosophy is a corrupting influence in many of his dialogues, and that perception will eventually lead to his trial and execution for quot;corrupting the youth. quot; Thus, Plato is all the more determined to highlight Socrates profound differences from the Sophists. We should note briefly the basic form of the Platonic dialogues: Plato, Socrates student, has written a kind of play, re enacting the way in which Socrates practiced his philosophy (he did not write it down, but simply argued on the streets). There are many aspects of her life that are irreversibly changed by their decision to pursue a sugar relationship as a form of income. The ramifications of their choices emerge in unforeseen ways. The social and personal repercussions range from perceptions of the self and those around them, to their feeling towards others. One of the strongest themes that comes through through the research is this idea of commodifying emotion to provide financially. In literature and interviews it came through strongly that being able to perform emotional labour (reference) was a fundamental portion of participating in a sugar dating relationship. It was necessary to be emotionally accommodating to the sugar daddy or mamma. Each individual person had a different expectation of themselves as to how much emotional labour they could perform. Many of the sugar babies opinions coincided and agreed that they were more comfortable having a sugar daddy that they had a natural connection with because the amount of emotional labour they would have to perform would be diminished. Personal repercussions of the sugar lifestyle ran deep in women discussion. Primarily they centred around the feelings of guilt and shame they felt towards their life choice. There were a multitude reasons for this a lot of them stemming from social censorship by their families and friends. They also felt like it was a secret they had to keep. For some they were prepared to trusted individuals (Sophie), for others they did not share their stories until they had finished with their sugar baby lifestyle (Sarah). This demonstrate the power of the social stigma towards sugar dating for young men and women as a means of income. The emotional elements of engaging in a sugar relationship run beyond the social stigma. For some of the women they found their dependency on their sugar daddies to be daunting, that was their only means of income. Bowling for Columbine is a documentary by Michael Moore that demonstrates how gun violence is transforming America into a dangerous country. Michael Moore plays with the emotions of the American public by centering his documentary on the tragedy of Columbine. He explores the reasons as to why gun violence is at an all time high in America by listing his ideas in a personal way rather than being professional like in most documentaries. However, the way that he directs his film captured my attention and made me question as to why there is so much gun violence in America. This is a very successful method because his whole argument has to do with the lack of culture, art, and writing, in today s youth. Referencing these authors really helps the reader to sense where he is coming from and helps them to sense his passion for literature. Some of the authors referenced include: Thoreau, Immanuel Kant, Gertrude Stein, Nietzche, Lord Byron, Wordsworth, and Emerson. • 27. Habits of the Mind Habits of Mind The habits of mind might better be termed the habits of a perfected mind since most have not acquired all of these habits. The two selected for this paper are persistence and precision. Both are difficult to embed because they require disciple and mental toughness. This paper discusses the connection between the two and how they can be defeated if a student is distracted from them. Persistence and precision are habits of mind that require many of the same skills to acquire. Persistence is defined as sticking to a task until it is completed (Costa Kallick, 2008). It is the ability to fail and to continue pressing towards a goal despite continuous rejection of the effort. People who have this trait are not afraid of the outcome of a single endeavor, but press on until they are successful. Having precision of language and thought is striving to communicate accurately in both written and oral form, taking care to use precise language; defining terms; and using correct names, labels and analogies (Costa Kallick, 2008). This ability is fostered by a mind that wants to ensure that it is communicating thoughts clearly so that they are not misunderstood. It is also a skill that takes a great deal of determination and discipline to perfect. These two skills can be innate, in a very few people, but by the majority they are acquired (Watts, 2012). Thinking clearly is the first step to communicating clearly, and this leads to the ability to accomplish tasks. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the article, Valliantos maintains the notion that healthy food should be within everyone s reach, yet inner cities are still suffering from shortages of fresh produce. To see this issue in action, Valliantos documented this reoccurring phenomenon in Los Angeles. The lower income, however, has a very small supply of fresh produce at its disposal. Grocery stores such as Wal Mart are stationed in the lower income portion of the city because the store has a large selection of lower priced goods. Agricultural workers such as famers would not sell their goods in this area because their profit would be too low to even be considered profit. In most cases, the only place to shop for food in the lower income portion of the city, are either convenient stores or liquor stores. There are more fast food joints, than restaurants and local pop up stands barely sell anything fresh. Not only is the city divided based on income, but its also due to race. The author makes note of this when he addresses volatile events such as the Rodney King Riots. He then points out that minorities suffer the most when it comes to fresh food availability. There are actions that are being taken today, to help increase the number of supermarkets that are available in low inner city areas. By appealing to ethos, Valliantos is able to get his point of view across to the reader. Throughout the article, Valliantos uses ethos to describe how the Center for Food and Justice took over responsibility for Project Café. He then uses this to cooperate with members of the community. • 29. Cruel And Unusual Punishment The cruel and unusual punishment provision is that the law must treat all criminals with dignity even the most despicable ones. Any sentence that is taking lives instead of rehabilitating is cruel and unusual and infringes the decency of society. The corrections system helps rehabilitate inmates through individual or group counseling about the cause of incarceration. They train them with suitable skills programs, such as how to prepare a job application and to interviews, and the importance of maintaining a steady employment to support family responsibilities. They help the inmates through educational programs to achieve a higher education while in prison and to succeed economically and live a healthier lifestyle outside of prison. The corrections system hopes with new skills incorporated; they will be able to be more productive. Keeping them engaged with medical and psychiatric treatment will keep them mentally stable for their reentry into the community. James Gilligan (2012), a Psychiatry Professor at NewYork University, stated that Two thirds of inmates reoffending within three years with more violent crimes after leaving prison which means incarceration for punishment does not work positively. Inflicting punishment on convicts for pay back only makes them more empowered criminals. Rehabilitation is the only key to reducing crimes because a regenerated person is more conscious of how their behaviors cause their loved ones and others around them to suffer. Awareness ... • 30. Justness Of Corporal Punishment Since the ancient human times, corporal punishment has been one of the most popular methods parents have used on enforcing their tutelage onto their children. Corporal punishment is defined as the physical punishment that parents use on their children to enforce rules. The act is seen as something of the past in 48 countries around the world, but for Canada. This is because they still have not resolved it in their legal systems, for Canada this law being the infamous Section 43. Even though it was implemented for the protection of parents and teachers from prosecution because of minor disciplining, it really is an excuse for violence against children. In this generation, the justness and effectiveness of corporal punishment have come into question, which is what this writing piece aims to further delve into. While anthropology may not be the most obvious study connected to corporal punishment, the two topics are more related than most people think. As humans, we have a sense of morals and values, and the understanding of our culture s changes is vital to understanding our shift in values. From an anthropological point of view, corporal punishment would be focused on what caused humanity s shift in values when it came to the justness of corporal punishment? . Based on the evidence, the answer to this would be if humanity has a recent change in values when it comes to corporal punishment, then it is because of the recent boost of awareness different cultures have gained in ... • 31. Analysis Of The Hunger Games In general, Stereotyping affect not only the youth of today but also other individuals. An individual can be stereotyped based on race, skin color, class warfare or gender. The book, The Hunger Games, which is now a well known movie, demonstrates how stereotyping can happen to any individual. In The Hunger Games, Katniss is affected by stereotypes. Being a citizen from District 12, her appearance and being a female affects the way the Capitol distinguishes her. District 12 is the poorest district in Panem and everyone expects for the tributes to act as savages and criminals. During the opening ceremonies, Katniss reminisces about the past tributes clothing. Since District 12 s principal industry is coal mining, the past tributes have attended the opening ceremony naked covered in black powder to represent coal dust or skimpy outfits and hats with headlamps (The Hunger Games 66). District 12 tributes are judged by the Capitol and the stylist judged them based on where they are from. The past stylists do not put any effort in designing their clothing since District 12 tributes already look worn out and dirty. Typically, everyone in the Capitol judges Katniss and Peeta because they are from a poorer side of Panem. By stereotyping, we infer that a person has a whole range of characteristics and abilities that we assume all members of that group have. It leads to social categorization which is one of the reasons for prejudice attitudes (Mclead). There are plenty of young ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This information combines the heuristics, which are simple rules used to make judgements, and representativeness, which is the extent to which an event is representative of its parent population. This amounts to the reliance on representativeness heuristic, which can be mistakenly used to erroneously magistrate something to seem more representative than it should be (Representativeness heuristic Breaking Down Finance, n.d., para. 1 7). The main point I received from the source material in this particular case is that investors may tend to follow trends in the stock market. However, due to the representativeness heuristic instances, forecasting a future trend is much more difficult than following a current one. The success of following the current trend is also something to keep in mind because it takes diligence to be able to see what is actually a trend or a slight change in the sequence of events in the stock performance. Based on this information, I believe it is best for an investor to be able to take a step back upon evaluating a stock market trend or stock performance, and really look at what is changing/not changing, as far as the stock prices are concerned. This will be helpful in being able to withstand a loss or in contrary reaping the benefits of a stock purchase gain. The relation between the two sources so far have been that there can be random occurrences in the stock ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, he was also upset about people who wrote asking him to change the role of women or African Americans to make them more or less dominant in some of his works. The only exceptions that have ever been made to the first amendment are the two Supreme Court cases Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire (1942) and New York Times v. Sullivan (1964) ( ACLU . . . ). In the Chaplinsky case, the court ruled that free speech was not protected if the speech was fighting words or words meant to provoke the person to whom they are addressed ( ACLU . . . ). In the case of New York Times v. Sullivan, the Supreme Court ruled that free speech is also not protected when it is slander against public officials ( ACLU . . . ). Mostly however, these two Supreme Court cases apply only to journalism, as most classic and contemporary literature is not directed simply at one person. Glenn Loury, along with Pamela Karian, Tommie Shelby, and Loic Wacquant discuss how America has let fear and greed cause an inequitable landscape for citizens who have the misfortune of being born the wrong color and of the wrong social economic class. The principals of equality and freedom on which America was founded has become nothing more than smoke and mirrors. During this timeframe, global recognition has afforded Seagram the opportunity to grow to 14,000 employees as well as creatively diversify in a manner than many companies could not imagine. Unique purchases of oil companies as well as what some might argue to be more logical partnerships like fruit juices such as Dole Food Company, Inc. created continued accomplishments that would shore up the company and create a secure future. In addition calculated investments with DuPont, MCA Inc., which includes Universal Studios and them parks as well as electric companies build an impressive portfolio for Seagram as well. We know that highly diversified organizations are more successful, firms whose business units are highly related to each other, such as in a focused company, are outperformed by those whose business units are moderately unrelated to each other (Graham, 2012, p.14).
