This document discusses a case of Cysticercus cellulosae, the larval stage of the pork tapeworm Taenia solium, found in a pig at an abattoir in Kumasi, Ghana. C. cellulosae has an indirect lifecycle involving humans and pigs. The cysts were found throughout the pig's muscles and heart at meat inspection, leading to condemnation of the entire carcass. Cysticercosis caused by C. cellulosae has significant prevalence in northern Ghana where pig management practices risk transmission from human feces.
