The document describes the student's experiments in creating an animated character and game. For the character, the student used separate layers for the eyes to allow independent movement. They also added a glow effect that changed the entire character's color, which they decided to keep. For the game, the student designed a background and table, drew characters, and added frame-by-frame animation moving objects and scores. They exported the animation from Photoshop as a video and added self-made sound effects in Premiere Pro, though matching effects to frames was difficult due to lag. The student plans to include independently moving layers and self-made sound effects matching the game in their final product.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
2. Process
With my experiment I decided to play around
and just to see what I could do. I decided to
make the characters eyes move and to do
this I had to make his right and left eye on
completely new layers so that I was able to
use the quick selection tool and move them
on each different frame. The quick selection
tool also came in useful when I made the
character change colour. What I did was
move the character from left to right and
then went to blending options and added a
outer glow. At first i only wanted the eyes to
glow up but when It changed the whole
colour of the character I liked how this looked
and chose to work with it and see what I
could do
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
In my final product I will include some of the techniques that I have used such as
when creating objects make sure to do them in layers so that I’m able make
changes easily and make certain parts of the objects move and change colour and
stuff due to creating different layers. If I had more time I would of made it more
advanced because this was very basic. I would of liked to of made the character
move.
4. Process
To make my experiment game I first designed the background by
using the paint bucket tool then I thought that it looked a bit too
boring so I decided to add a satin effect with the opacity to 78% so
that my background didn’t look too plain. I then designed the table
for my game which for this I used the rectangular marquee tool and
then the pencil tool to draw my table. The pencil tool also came in
useful when I had to draw my character. Once I drew all the
characters and had all of them in the table it I then began to start
the frame animation. I first had it set to 0.1 seconds however I then
realized that this was way too quick so I changed it to 0.5 however
then that was too slow so I decided to go with 0.3 because it wasn’t
too quick or too slow. I then had to go through every frame and
move what I wanted to change position. Then I had to make new
layers and use the pencil tool to write the score each time the
player matches 3 in a row. After I had all this done I then had to
resize it to 1080 by 720 pixels and this move objects out of place so
I then had to go through each single slides again making
adjustments. Once I had this I exported it in Photoshop as a video
and imported it to premiere pro and went on beep box to make my
own sound effects for the game. When editing in premiere pro it
was difficult to match up the sound effects with where i wanted
tem to go because of how much it lagged and kept glitching
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
In my final product I will include some sound effects that i will make myself as
this gives me more freedom as I can make what I want however I will make sure
it matches up with the game more
