June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

3. Pre-Production: Visual Planning
• This section is concerned with the visual planning of your music video
• You should use this section to develop the sequencing or your video,
establish the relationship between the visuals and the track itself and
create a structure for you to follow when filming
• It is important that you ‘pre-visualise’ the video before you make it; it
will make filming and production a more streamlined process
• The following tasks are part of your visual planning
• Pre-visualisation and concept boards
• Storyboarding
• Shot list
4. Pre-visualisation/Concept Boards
• Tool for exploring the direction and visuals
• Provides inspiration and information for the “look & feel”
• Presents key moments in your video
• A means to sketch/plan ideas
• Information on colour/lighting
• Defining the “mise-en-scene”
• Include as much here as you like, but keep it relevant to the
production, the following slides have been left blank for you to
approach in your own way, add more as you need to
• Extension suggestion: edit a short sequence of clips that have
inspired or influenced your video [similar to this:

5. Concept Board
Effects
Locations
In my music video I am going to use locations such as a wall that has graffiti on it as this fits
in with the vibe of the video and the wall looks aesthetically pleasing which will help the
video. I am also going to film in a tunnel as this fits in with the vibe of the video and I am
going to film at the Abbey because this will fit in with the video vibe as well. I have chosen
some effects for me to get inspiration from because I am going to include a lot of effects as I
don’t want my video to look how I filmed it, I always want something going on. I am going to
include a lot of trippy effects and a lot of demonic effects as it fits in with the vibe of the
song and it makes it interesting to watch.
7. Structural breakdown
• Breakdown your track into it basic sections [e.g. intro, verse, chorus,
verse, etc] and apply broad visual ideas to each section
• You can use this as the master template for your production, then
add more shots to each section when you develop your full visual
plan
8. Structural breakdown – 1/3
Section [e.g. verse,
chorus, bridge, etc]
Approx

Intro (before first
verse) of the tack
25
seconds
The intro will start by different shots of
the locations with the artist in the
background.
This will include some long shots
and medium shots of the locations.
I will also make the footage blurry
and add a vhs effect. Another
technical side would be to set the
camera up on a tripod to get some
still shots as well as moving with
the camera.
first verse 10
seconds
This will include close up and medium
close up shots of the artist lip syncing
the song. There will be video overlays on
top of the clips.
Technical aspects would to include
to film whilst following the artist
and to add video overlays and
first verse 10
seconds
I will include some masking techniques
and mask the artist out out and
duplicate him for example or mask
around him and invert the mask so I can
have a video playing where the artist
should be
Technical aspects for this would
include the masking tool when it
comes to editing so i can mask
neatly and make it work effectively
9. Structural breakdown – 2/3
Section [e.g. verse,
chorus, bridge, etc]
Approx

What happens, visual elements, shots Notes of technical aspects/requirements
First verse 10
seconds
This will transform between close p
shots and medium close up shots. I will
include some transitions such as I will
have the video glitch and then a blur
into the next effect
Technical aspects will include to
use video overlays and lace hem
effectively over the video include
video effects such as a blur and
change the settings so that I'm
happy with the way itlooks
Second verse 10
seconds
This will constantly change between a
various different shots from close up to
medium shots. Some of the shots will be
the will be flipped. I will have these with
a colour overlay and I will have the
video it self changing different colours
Technical aspects simply include
colour correcting and adding
colour overlays which can simply
be done in premier pro.
Second verse 10
secinds
This effect I will ask part of the video and
invert the colours so that the video
changes to the inverted colour and so
that objects in the video will change
colour.
Technical aspects for includes
masking so I can mask around the
objects I want to change to the
inverted colour and so I can make
the video go inverted

Third verse 15
seconds
Visual elements for the third verse is I
will include some close up hots as I will
have the artists eyes change colour and
close up shot will help this as It can be
easily
Technical aspects include filming
close up shots by either setting up
a tripod or holding the camera by
hand and getting a steady shot.
Another technical aspects includes
to mask out the eyes and either
adding a track mask or using key
frames to make the effects run
smoothly
Third verse 15
seconds
I will have medium close up effects
switching to long shots of the artist . I
will use various effects to make the shots
change to vibrant colours and will
include videos overlays such as skulls
and hearts for example
I will need to be able to include
overlays and to be able to make
the videos change colour and
switching to other shots whilst
they change colours

11. Storyboarding
• Your storyboard should bring your idea to life
• Provide an idea of the sequencing of you video
• Provides a basis for production
• Suggested online storyboard creators are:
• http://www.pixton.com [very complicated]
• http://www.storyjumper.com [allows you to insert your own images]
• Alternatively, hand draw or photograph your storyboard and scan or
copy to insert it onto your slides
• There are lots of tips collected together on Blackboard!
12. I have included some medium and long shots here of the locations whist the introduction of the music is starting. This sets the atmosphere for
the video and the medium shot allows the audience to see everything at the location. Whilst the medium shots allow the consumer to see the
location as well as being ale to see with a it more detail as t is closer up
The first shot I have used is a tight medium shot so the audience can see what else is in the shot and not just the artist. I then use a medium full
shot of the artist against the wall and then the last shot is a long shot
13. This shot I have used is a medium close up shot so the consumer can see the artist clearly. I then use a extra long shot so the focus is on the
background and what's going on rather than the artist and the last shot I have decided to use is a medium long shot which allows the
consumer to see the artist clearly whilst also being able to see what is going on in the video clearly
I have then used a medium close up shot which I decided to use as the consumer can see the artist clearly and any facial expressions the artist
may have and I then used a close up shot to allows the consumer to see the facial expressions of to artist more clearly. I then simply used a
medium shot of the location.
14. This shot I have used first is a medium shot. This was because I wanted the consumer to be able to see what is going on I the background and in
the video whilst also being able to see the artist. The second shot is a medium close up so again the consumer can see what is going on around
the artist however again this allows them to see facial expressions more and clearly. The next shot is a medium shot of the artist so the
consumer can see what is going on in the video as I will add some video overlays
The two shots ere are just medium shots of the locations as I want the audience to feel the vibe of the song and I think having these locations
here work well for that as it helps put the picture in the audiences mind. The last shot I used is a medium close p shot so the audience can see
what the artist is wearing, they can see the locations as well as seeing facial expressions from the artist.
15. Shot List
• Your shot list should contain the sequential breakdown of what you
need to shoot for your video – it is both a creative tool for planning
and practical tool for filming
• It should work in partnership with your storyboard
• It will be your working document when you film
• It should contain the shot number, scene number, shot description,
framing and action you will see
• It should also have information on performers in the scene and other
props, etc
• Shot list template is on Blackboard in the pre-production folder.

18. Production Group Info
• Include names, contact info, and defined roles at difference stages of
production, using a table is suggested
Name Contact Role
Dan Burton Email Actor / Artist
Louis Fitton Email Director
19. Location information
• Information and images of your location[s] for filming
• You should have address details, clearance/premissions for filming,
recce photos and floorplans [including camera, equipment and
cast/crew layouts]
• Where possible, have a plan B fallback location option
• Assess each location for any issues and suggest solutions
20. Location & Equipment
The location for my music video are very simple. My
Locations are based in York , North Yorkshire United
Kingdom and also Whitby, North Yorkshire ,United
Kingdom. I have chosen these locations because I
think that they fit in well with the vibe of my video
and when it comes to editing the music video it will
look aesthetically pleasing to watch. Plan b would
be to film in a urban scene where there is a lot of
graffiti which I either would go to York or Leeds for
and film at a skate park in Scarborough and I would
also film around various different locations which
are urban based.
The equipment I need for my video is a camera and a sd card so that I am able to film for my video. I will need a
microphone so I can hear the audio more clearly. I need to use a tripod so I can get some till shots and I also need a
speaker so that when I am filming for my music video I can have the music playing loud so the artist can lip sync over the
track.
