Unit 8 - Information and Communication Technology (Paper I).pdfThiyagu K
This slides describes the basic concepts of ICT, basics of Email, Emerging Technology and Digital Initiatives in Education. This presentations aligns with the UGC Paper I syllabus.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

FittonClothing 31/01/2020
Main area of activity:
The main area of activity that I will be focusing on is print work so creating designs for my product
using photoshop *
Rationale:
Throughout the two years at college my i have created a variety of different products from creating
an audio project to video projects. Creating both of these projects has improved my skills and
knowledge in premiere pro as i am able to use and understand the software to a good level. i am
able to do advanced techniques from color correction to masking. As well as the production side it
has also expanded my knowledge in the theory side from knowing everything that it takes to plan
the videos from storyboarding and then creating a shot list and saying why a shot has been used.
Throughout the years my skills within photoshop have improved as can be seen within my work
and i have a better understanding with not just the skills of using photoshop but i have a better
understanding of the conventions of print work and this helps to make y project look more
professional. my skills within designing logos and editing images have improved which will help to
elevate my project in the FMP
Project Concept:
The concept for my project is that i want to create a luxury streetwear brand. For this project i will
create a variety of different products for the brand which can be T-shirts, shoes, hoodies / jumpers,
hats or jackets etc. I will then market this brand which i will create the social media mock up pages
i.e. Instagram, twitter and Facebook for the brand and i will also create a mock up website and i
will design some print advertisement which can which can be business cards, leaflets and posters
etc. i also may create a look book of the products. The research that i will carry out for this project
first of all will be research about different brands within this style. i will need to look at the different
brands and find what are the current trends at this moment in time. i will be researching about the
streetwear scene throughout the time and how it has progressed to where it is today. i will be
looking into different fashion designers and researching about their history and looking at their
previous work. i will also be researching the promotional side of the industry looking at different
brands marketing techniques looking at what works effectively what doesn't. i will be looking at
different print work of leaflets, posters and looking at what these products have in common.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
To evaluate my work, I plan on keeping a weekly self-reflection document. After each week I will
write about what I did in that week. What went well and what I could have done better and what I
plan to achieve in the next week. This will help my work and as I am going along and still creating
the project as my mind will actively be thinking and thinking about what I can do to elevate my
work and make it the best I possibly can. Making sure that I write about my production each week
is also going to allow people to see the whole process of my work and any changes I have made.
It will also allow people to understand my thought process better and allow them to see from my
point of view why I did what I did. I will also have an evaluation document where I am going to
review the project as a whole. I will look into my time management of the project. I will look at my
research and planning and I will write about what went well for me and what didn't. I will also be
looking at the final product that I have created and evaluating the pieces explaining the final
