The document describes several animation experiments conducted by the student to test different animation techniques. 2. Process
In my first animation I was testing out a
walking/jumping animation. I did this by
drawing 3 different legs with the pencil tool.
Then changing between them in each frame
in the timeline while the background moved
behind him to simulate walking. To make the
background move I created a new file in
Photoshop but made it longer then the first
one and every frame I moved the background
three spaces to the left. To make him jump I
moved the body down for two frames and
then I moved the body up which made him
look like he was jumping.

• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will use the walking and jumping animation but make the
walking animation more smoother by adding more different
types of legs. I won’t use the way I moved the background
because their is a easier way of doing by adding a tween.

4. Process The second animation experiment was testing a attacking
animation and a death animation. The attacking animation was
done the same way as the walking animation but with three
different types of arms and swords. The death animation was
done by drawing person six different times and each time the
person was more damaged then change between them for each
frame. I used the pencil tool to add blood to the character and
the eraser tool to cut a hole into the character to created the
damage done by the sword.

• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will use the arm animation and death animation for my final
product because the character will need to move his arms and
also the character will die to show the game over screen.

6. Process • The third animation experiment I tried to
created a more detailed background. I my
made a Photoshop file which was 480x80
pixels and used the rectangle tool to
create the sky and the ground. Then I
used the circle tool to create the clouds,
then I used the pencil tool to create the
trees with two shades of green to have
some shading in the background. I also
used a tween to make the background
move behind the plane.

7. Process In the third animation experiment I created a
explosion effect. I did this by creating a new layer of
smoke for every three frames. I made the effect by
using the pencil tool and adding more grey, yellow,
orange and red to each new smoke layer. I also
created a new layer with the plane cut in half to
show that the explosion has done some damage to
plane.

• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will use the tween option in my final product because it’s a
easy way to move the background. I will also try to make a
detailed background in my final product because they look
good. I will also try to add a explosion in my final product.

9. Process
In my fourth experiment I was testing out music I could put in my
animations. I used Beepbox to create this. Beepbox gives you a lot of
different sounds to create music and also give you different layers so
you can layer up beats. I used one layer to create this music. I used the
sawtooth lead 2 sound to create this.

• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• In my final product I will use Beepbox to create the music and
sound effects because its simple and easy to use and also
sounds like its from a 8-bit game.
