In the brief, I have been allowed to create any production that is in the print/animation/film genre. Looking through my
work throughout the year, I feel like creating a product in the film genre would be the best genre for me because I feel
like my short film is stronger than my other pieces I have done. In this specific medium, I have a lot of genres to choose
from. For example short films, advertisements etc. For my project I am planning to do a 5 minute short film. I have 8
weeks to produce this project. I feel like I would create a good project in this medium and genre because creating visual
pieces such as short films and video fitted to music is a strong point for me because it’s a hobby of mine outside of
college. I think this project is going to be more difficult than previous projects but if I put in the right amount of effort
and time, I feel like I can product a good standard project. Looking at my previous products, my strengths are my pre
production and my research. I feel like I make good research and it helps me figure out what I need to do in order for
my project to be successful. I feel like my weaknesses are the production reflection and the evaluation segment of the
rotations. I feel like I am a hard critique on myself and I find it hard to talk about my own and what is good and bad
about it. But if I leave enough time to get it done, I can overcome that weakness and produce a good evaluation. In
order to create my short film, I will need to use a lot of hardware and software. For example, in hardware, I will need to
book out specialist equipment such as a camera, tripod and audio recorder. I may need more equipment if possible. For
software I will need editing applications such as adobe premier pro to put together my visual and audio assets. I will
also need applications on the internet such as google and YouTube in order to conduct my research. In order to get all
my work on time I need to schedule what I need to do. I can do this by using a calendar or by using a Gantt chart. If I
book my equipment to a specific date, I can organise my work around that date and help me stay on track of what I
need to do. Reflecting on my work is very important for my project. I can find out what I have done well and what I
haven’t done well, and what can be improved. This will help me because I then can either go back to the production
and make the corrections in order for the work to be better, or I could remember those corrections for future projects.

Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
There is a lot of repetition between the images. The colours in the majority of the images
are dark colours such as blacks and reds. I think this has occurred because the theme of my
short film is dark and creepy. There is a range of images where a mirror is included. This is
because the mirror images has given me an idea of what I want to do in my short film.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
The images that I have collected for the mood board will influence my final product
because it has given me inspiration of what I want to put in my short film. For example, the
images of the mirrors have changed my mind of doing a short film about someone having a
split personality and now I'm thinking of doing it about an evil twin trapped in the mirror. I
feel like I did that instead of my original idea, the product will turn out better and be more
scary. The mood board on props and lighting will effect my research and planning because I
will play around with effects on premier pro to get the colours that the images in my mood
board has. The movies in which I have researched in my mood dvd covers have inspired me
in my project as I have seen a few of those movies and admire how they have edited their
films to give them a creepy vibe and add tension.
