George Wetton will use Photoshop for editing photos, designing posters, title cards and other print materials for his project. He will also use it for magazine layout and design. He plans to push his skills with Photoshop further for this project. Wetton will use Premiere Pro to edit video trailers and clips, and may add effects to any music portions. He is confident in his video editing abilities from prior use of Premiere Pro. Wetton will use InDesign for structuring and laying out the magazine, focusing on column layout, image placement and color/texture. Though he finds its setup complicated, he is familiar with InDesign from past use. Wetton will create original music for the project

2. Editing photos –Photoshop/Lightroom
Photoshop will be the main software which I will use in this project. It is the software which I am most confident in and
use the most. In terms of this project however I have already experiment with this software in my research and in my
production experiments. I will be using in a production sense through for my posters, magazine, video and magazine.
Video would be the oddest one to choose when it comes to a photo editing software. However, like my production
experiments. I will be designing the title cards and other design products. I will then create a timeline frame and create
a video frame by frame in a gif sense. I will be using this software for my posters too because that’s part of the print
material. I do poster work outside college and do commissions for my work. So, despite this being the one I am most
knowledgeable at. This was the part of my project which I am looking forward to the most because of that factor and
the fact that I want to push the design of these to the best poster work I have done yet. I will be using this software also
for my magazine when it comes to design and texturing purposes. Whilst some people will be using other editing
software's. This is the best one to use for me especially when it comes to image placement and how to texturize image.
One interest element note is that whilst everything is being made off different software's for film because of the two
separate categories of print and video. Thet all have to match the theme and colours to what they are meant to be in a
primary sector of how the film should look overall. The cinematography in my video format has to match the same
colour that might posters are layered out in. This creates a sense of style for the film to hold on.

3. Adobe Premiere pro
This is a video editing software that I will use to edit my trailers and excerpt clip on. Having used this
software for a while and using it for any video I have to edit. I can confidently safe that I have mastered the
essentials. This software is the second I am most confident I using having to use whenever I upload
something my YouTube channel which I use in my spare time and anything else. I will also be using it for
any effects that I might be adding when it comes to the music but of course I will be doing this in a
separate film. My confidence when it comes to making music isn't too high. So, adding the effects of
existing noises might encourage me to put it in my video formats. The editing in a similar sense to the
posters I am hoping to push to the best of my abilities. This means applying more technical skills such as
colour correction and key framing when it comes to placing stuff in the shot that’s needs to work in synch
with everything else. Whilst postproduction is important production should be just as when it comes to
filming. For example, when it comes to the teaser trailer, I need to be reliant on the natural light that’s
coming outsife the window. This will mean that no lighting equipment will be needed, and it will make it
easier to edit after as the scenes are set in monochrome.

4. Adobe InDesign
I will be using InDesign for my magazine layout and structuring. Thought I want to be typing it all out on
Microsoft because the setup is easier, and it corrects spelling mistakes. Photoshop was another software
that I was going to use as I have used it in the past. InDesign often gets complaints for its complicated
setup . However, I have used it before and never had a problem with it because I have used it several times
coming to this project in preparation for it. Once you are able to understand the controls. You will
understand that it is better when it comes to structuring the text. I will however be using photoshop after
as well though. This will be used mostly for the design purposes. No text altercations well be changed
during this program. I will be suing it when it comes to the texture of how it will look because it’s a
magazine and focus on the colour. The resizing and placement of images can be a bit of nusiance from
time to time, but this will have to be something which I have to cope with because it won't affect the
qualitity of my work in anyway. The most important aspect of this software is the way that columns are
structred and how the inteviews are kept in line with each other.

5. GarageBand
I will be using Garage band in order to create a piece of original music. I have two alternative uses in which I can use
it because it can only be accessed through the macs. So, I'll be using the ones at college and my mum has one too.
So, I’ll be able to accesses the software on a different device. I haven't got much of a speciality when it comes to
creating music, but I want to create something which I own and don’t want to go against the copyright usage.
However, one the cast members from my film (the person who plays the part of Lauren). Her dad was part of an 80's
band called 'the mode' which ran from 1981-1983. This is a coincidence because I didn’t know this beforehand, and
these are the years in which the story is set. So, it would make sense to the plot. I will have to see if I can have any
rights give towards using or if he will give me any tips in which I can improve on it. He might not appreciate amateur
way but even so if he can send me to their right direction then that would be good. I've used garage band a handful
of time and I am confident with it. I do however have a problem when it comes to the arrangement of notes
beforehand and the unbalances of high and low notes. It might work for this case because its horror. It has to sound
unnatural and creepy but of course I also want it to sound good. This is software in which I am the least confident to
use because I haven't used it as much. Only using it for video game or audio project in the past. I'm not a good
musician. It's not my profession but I will aim for result in which I am happy with, and it also shows that I am covering
all my bases.
