The document is a proposal for a short film called "on the minute" aimed at audiences of all ages. The film will follow a main character who hates doing a chore every day at the same time. Strange things start happening when he does the chore, and over time he learns to ignore the strange occurrences and focus on the chore instead of hating it. Research will include finding if anyone has done a similar idea before and learning from their successes and mistakes. What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
My audience for age is based around any age I would say as I do not intend to include any
material that could be classed as thriller and it will not contain any violence or any content that can
be linked to anything that cant be only for people who are older the content that my short film will
contain will be available for people of all ages. This will be more relatable to a male audience as
the protagonist of the short film however the plot of the film will be for male and female and will not
be exclusive to one. This short film would be more specific to the average class of people as that
will be the type of place that’s its filmed and made. My short film will aim at the psychographic of
people that are interested with a film that centres around time but has an interesting feature to it
and I feel that its important to aim at this photographic due to the fact that I have to focus my film
around this. The age that I will be aiming at will vary between 8 to any age but from the age
classification it would be a u because there is really nothing in this film that could put people of any
age groups off or that can mess with them. The social status that I will be going for in this will be
from middle class to higher class because that is the type of characters that will be in it and thus it
will be relatable and appeal more to them as an audience.

Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I have picked up a lot of things p as I have gone and from my irn bru project I have learned a lot
about premiere adobe and this shows me how I can make my work when editing better adding in
different affect sand so I wanted to bring this into my work because I feel like this will assist me
well when editing my short film secondly I have skills on photoshop that I have learnt and can bring
into this project well. I have also done a lot of story boarding on different projects and so I feel that
that will be an easy part of this project as I have had experience on it before.

Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make? I am going to make a short
film based around the premise of time, the idea of this short film is to make it so that the mind
thinks about what is happening but at the same time they will be easily figuring out the story to the
short film as it would be visually shown clearly they would just have to search for the morale and
deeper meaning to the film. The story to this film is that the main character has a chore that he
does on a certain minute of the day every day. For example this would be like folding the washing
at half 10 at night every night and the main character hates doing this chore and makes a wish that
he would enjoy doing washing rather then hating it all the time something to make it barrable and
then the next day creepy and scary things start happening everyday and this leads to main
character going through different stages of dealing with the things around him before he finds a
suitable answer to the problem. The first night it happens the character will be scared and not
know what to do but pass it off as if its nothing, the second night it will happen again and the main
character will yet again be scared and notice that it happened at the same time as he was doing
the washing both night and he would know because of how much he hates that minute he would
then wait till the next day for that minute with a bat ready to fight the thing that is attacking him.
However his plan to fight back would prove pointless as he cant get rid of what bothering him the
next day he would go back to be scared and it would skip days with him scared and then
eventually and gradually he would become revert back to washing on that minute again as the bad
things where happening but his mind would be on something else and is he would have found a
way out of the problem and a way to ignore what was happening this would lead to his wish

coming true because he would now not hate doing this chore but instead he would need to do the
chore to be able to forget about it.
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/ I will need to
find out if anyone has also done this idea before as a film and make sure that it isn’t taken and
from there I can come to the conclusion as to if it is the right step to take or if I need to change it to
avoid copyright and having done the research I can say no one else has done this idea and it gives
me time to perfect it to a better standard looking at how people that have done things similar I will
research these people and see where they went wrong and how I can improve and take what they
did right and use that to my own. I researched my audience to see who am appealing to and how I
can be sure to reach that audience.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc) I will not be using greens green in my product as I will not need to use any
other scenery other then what I can get from where I film, it will be set in my home and so I will not
be needing the scenery and so I will not be needing a greenscreen. I will be making my own sound
effects and so I will be needing a audio recorder so I can go out and get recordings of doors
closing and lids banging and wind blowing ect… these are important for me to have. I will be
filming it with a high definition camera and I will use a variation of different shots and the reason for
this is that I want to make it so that all the shots I use come together and create a nice visual short
film that tells a story. I will be making my own music for this short film using garage band which is a
special software that I will need access to in order to use it and create a good track, the catch with
garage band is you can only record one track at a time and you can only use 6 instruments that
doesn’t give a large choice without buying the full thing r paying for other things separately
because apple needs money apparently, this means my track wont be great but at least it will be
something that I have made myself for the music instead of something from google.
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos? This project shouldn’t involve any
specialist equipment.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work? i will evaluate my work by comparing it to other pieces of
work that are similar to my work and also by reverting back to what I said I wanted to make and
seeing how it looks now and explaining problems I had along the way if I had any and this will add
up into a comparison that shows what I wanted to what I got and what I am capable of doing. Then
I will proceed to see the strengths and weaknesses of my planning and everything that I have done
that could be better and then discuss what I can improve on my final work and how I would
improve it then what I could have done better on the actual production.
