Roles and Responsibilities
Narrator – Abbey Glancy
One of the roles for the production is the narrator. The roles of the narrator is to tell the story of the video.
Whether the role is on screen or just a voice over, the narrator has to speak clearly and convey the story well
with pronunciation and gestures. With the concept of my video, the narrator has to have a chilling dark tone in
order for the product to have a chilling and spooky vibe.
Camera Operator – Kieran Beal
Another role in production is the camera operator. This person has to handle the camera and record the
footage. The camera operator will also have to follow and focus on the narrator of who ever or whatever is in
shot.
D.O.P. - Abbey Glancy, Kieran Beal
An additional role is the director of photography (D.O.P). The role of this person is to take charge of what is
happening in every shot and scene. They also make decisions one how the image looks.
Interviewee - Pub Landlord or worker or regular customer at The Golden Fleece
- worker for the York Ghost Walk
A further role for this particular video is an interviewee. The role of this person is to answer questions the
hosts ask and giving their own opinion or viewpoint on a certain topic they have been asked to discuss
Schedule

• Film around York for title screen and introduction (day time filming)
• Film in Golden Fleece for interview and main topic/subject

Location Recce
• Before filming I will need to look at my locations to see if it's the right
place for my documentary. Unfortunately the Golden Fleece (which is
the main location for my film) is closed for refurbishment and won't
be open until the time production starts so I probably won't be able
to visit the location before filming. But I can look around York for
inspiration of what I am going to film for my introduction.
Risk Assessments
Risk Hazard Solution
Battery running out of charge Less time filming during day of production Take an extra battery so if the
battery does run out you there is a
replacement.
Memory card full Able to shoot some shots but unable to
shoot all shots wanted for the film
If there are multiple days shooting the
film, after each day, upload footage to a
computer and place on memory stick so
when you go out to film again, there is
enough room.
People not showing up to production days Unable to shoot vital clips Have an understudy/replacement for each
role in order to get the needed footage
Bad weather on day of production Unable to film outside If weather is bad on one of the days of
shooting, film all the indoor shots and
come back on a better day for outdoor
shots. Check weather apps on the days of
production
Corrupt files/power outage/ computer
crashing
Editing and footage will be lost Save after every change in order for the
file to not revert back to on old version of
the film
Health and Safety
Potential Issue How Issue can be Avoided
Bad weather during shoot causing equiptment to
malfunction and potential injuries from slippery
surfaces
Make sure to check the weather on the day of
production. If weather is bad, re-schedule to a
different day
Bad posture during editing causing back pain Take breaks between editing in order for no back
strain or injury
Crew tripping over objects on the ground causing
minor to major injuries
Keep area of production clear to prevent tips and slips
Long session during editing causing eye strain Take breaks between editing
