and standard sans font and this gives
off that the magazine is very simple
and a professional magazine. The
main title of the page ‘Contents’ is
bigger than all the other fonts and
this shows it is more important, all
the font is in scale with each other
and they all fit together giving off an
very organized look about the school
and the magazine in general. The font
in the ‘pug’ is different it’s in more of
a childlike font this is to show off that
it is an competition and it’s something
fun and exciting to do and this
highlights the ‘WIN’ and this makes
people want to join in and get
involved.
The layout is very simple and all the
font and pictures are the same shapes
and sizes which makes the magazine
look very smart. Different stories are
under different sub-headings which
shows that the school is very ordered,
also there is a quote from the editor
which shows that the magazine took a
long time to create and they take
great pride in what they have created
for the parents and also they have
placed social media tags which is
showing off that they targeting it
towards an younger audiences,
making them want to read the
magazine.
They have used a pug on the front page and in the contents
page, this highlighting off a competition and this is getting
the readers involved in with the magazine. Showing off the
‘fun’ side of the magazine and also if someone won the
competition then they will want to win again, so will tell their
friends and try and win more but also it will correspond to
the contents in the magazine.
The colours used for this page are very simple and this makes it very effective because it makes the
information stand out more. The main colours are greens and beige which gives off quite relaxed feeling
towards the reader, also the colour green gives off the connotations of something fresh and new, this
could be reflecting of the information that is in the magazine giving the parents something new for them
read. But also it can help them have a new reflected look on parenting. This is better than having a bright
pink or all black because these colours could be for female and male which is attracting mothers and
fathers.
They have used an image in the top left hand corner of the page. This image isn’t that big compare to the
text but it’s the same size as the ‘Contents’ title. In the image its two children together looking like they
are writing something down, this is showing that the students are interested in the magazine
information. The children are also at different ages which shows there is a mix at the school and that they
are close and they are all very helpful children, also they are outside which shows off that they could go
on school trips which shows that the magazine will full of information about trips. Also because of the
children ages it will information will be about the effects their children at that age.
