Audience
I can use different colours for
different themes for example
Christmas colours for Christmas
time or brighter colours
representing summer
Most
advertisements
have meanings
behind them to
make their
audience think A popular movement at the
moment is the black lives matter
movement this can appeal to most
people and would spread a
positive message as well as my
target audience being 16-19 this
will work well as it is an issue
younger people are interested and
involved in.
My audience will be 16-19 so I will make a
coca cola advert that appeals to that age
group.
I could use certain colours
which correspond with certain
ideas such as a summer
themed Coca-Cola could
contain bright primary colours
whereas the Christmas /
autumn themed ads colours
could consist of darker colours
such as brown and dark yellow.
Some themes could be yearly themes
such as New years, summertime,
Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas
these themes would range for a wider
target audience.
Good themes for my
demographic of 16-19
year olds could
include: gaming, social
media/influencers,
television etc.
‘Taste the feeling’ ‘Delicious and refreshing’
was the first original
slogan of Coca-Cola in the
mid 1890s, some people
may prefer an older slogan
5. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
• Some strengths of using a mind map consists of: Being
able to visualise an idea and see every part of it, studying
different ideas and methods and being able to link a lot
of general ideas into one group making it easier to make
a final decision.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• One weakness of using a mind map is it being mainly
used for note taking and minimalistic planning so when it
comes to one large decision It may not be as much help
as other methods of planning.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I like using mind maps as they are a good way to explore
different ideas and concepts ultimately helping find the
ideal design needed for my final project.
7. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
One strength of using a mood board is the fact it sets a
certain mise en scene for the project for example I went with
Christmas as I got the chance to experiment with other
seasons on my mood board.
• Weaknesses of using this method
A weakness of using mood boards is that it gives less
information and detail as other methods of planning such as
a mind map where you can be more descriptive where as
with mood boards you are more limited to images.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I like using mood boards as they are a quick way to find
a general idea for my end product and let me explore a
few different genres and ideas before making a final
decision.
9. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
– Using a style sheet helps me to choose a lot more than a mood
board which is better for me as you can explore more possible
additions to the project such as fonts, images and colour layouts
making style sheets very helpful.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– One weakness of using a style sheet is they display very minimal
detail and consist mainly of images similar to the mood board
making it difficult to plan in detail using this.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
- I liked using this method but it is not my favourite as it’s
more minimalistic than some other methods by not writing
much down or describing any ideas but instead putting images
on, this was helpful for a rough idea of what I’m wanting to
do.
12. Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
– Layout plans are a great form of planning as you can get a solid idea of
an end product especially for me as I created a Coca-Cola poster so a
layout plan really helped me experiment with some ideas.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– A weakness from using layout plans is the fact they also don’t include
much information with the poster as it is just a layout of ideas so it’s
less informational than other planning methods.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
- I liked using this method due to the fact it really helped me
experiment with what I needed to do and get done for my final piece
and gave me a more solidified idea of what I want to do opposing the
other methods which helped me produce rougher ideas.

14. My morning routine
-My phone alarm wakes me up at 7:00 (alarm)
-I have a shower (water running)
-I get dressed and pack my bag (rustling about)
-I brush my teeth (electric toothbrush)
-I leave for college (door closing)
15. Independent Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
– Getting ideas sorted
– Planning end product
– General ideas
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Less descriptive
– Brainstorm being independent meaning I'm working alone
so I cannot ask for others opinions
• Did you like using this method? Why?
- No as it is not very productive for me because I cannot
discuss my ideas with anybody and it doesn’t include
much writing.
16. Independent Brainstorm
In my radio advert for my BLM
themed Coca-Cola I could use
audio from the marches through
London to signify chaos and then
the crack of a can of coke and
silence to represent peace.
If I themed my radio advert on
Christmas I would use the
Christmas jingle from Coca-Cola,
foot steps in the snow and the
sound of a fire in the background
to set an atmosphere.
On an autumn themed radio ad I would use sound
effects of people laughing and the sound of footsteps in
the leaves followed by one of the summer coca cola
jingles to create a scene of happiness and good times
18. Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
– Gives me a sense of knowing what I’ll say in my formal pitch
– Knowing what I’m pitching
– Not having to worry about speaking informally
– In informal pitches there’s more room for mistakes
• Weaknesses of using this method
- There aren’t any weaknesses for this method
• Did you like using this method? Why?
- Yes as it gives more room for informality and mistakes
meaning more time can be used to focusing on the end
project and how it’s presented.
19. Informal pitch
• Strengths:
• Easy to put together
• Strong message
• Relates to demographic
• Weaknesses:
• Specific sound effects
• Harder to understand out of demographic audience
• No jingle
Yes It was simplistic and has a strong message behind it.
20. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
– Using professional terminology
– Preparation for real life
– Good criticism
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Longer than informal
– Writing in full sentences
– More room for mistakes
• Did you like using this method? Why?
- I like using this method as it is more professional and there is more
criticism included but there’s also more room for mistakes and this
method will also be more time consuming.
21. Formal proposal
Some of the strengths of using this method is it was easy
and simplistic to put together, it has a strong meaningful
message behind it that fits the current events, and the
demographic will be invested in. There is also weaknesses
of using this method such as the sound effects were
difficult to find and had to fit the advert so the listeners
could understand it. Another weakness is it may be
harder for an older audience to relate and understand if
they are not involved with the BLM movement and it also
doesn’t contain a Coca-Cola jingle making it less
recognisable. Overall I enjoyed using this method as it
wasn’t too hard to put together and I believe it sends a
good strong message to the listeners which is positive.
22.
23. Initial Reaction
• Strengths of using this method
– Can compare at the end of the project
– Knowing what I will need assistance with
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Can be complicated looking at an advergame for the first time
heavily influencing the initial reaction
• Did you like using this method? Why?
-No I didn’t as being told you are making an advergame and
not having any prior knowledge can be overwhelming so my
initial reaction to the game was me being confused.
24. Initial Reaction
• Initially I am concerned about making an
advergame as I have no experience in it and it
seems difficult to make but I am excited as it
will be a good skill to learn and will
furthermore help me design images for my
course and will be useful developing my
projects.
25. SketchesCoca-Cola bottle as
collectibles for the
player. Could be used
in a shop later on in
the game.
The players character model
could have customisable skins
and accessories etc. another
possible option for the
character is to have upgrades in
the shop.
This is a protestors sign,
an obstacle for the
player to jump over not
jumping over restarts
the game
26. Sketches
• Strengths of using this method:
• Learning to draw with pixels before making my advergame
• Easy to draw in pixels after some experience and effort
• Weaknesses of using this method:
• First learning how to draw in pixels
• Trying to figure out the dimensions
• Working out the sizes of my sprites
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• At the moment no as it is hard to get your head around at
first because of the sizes and the perspective but as I learn
and attempt to draw in pixels more, I will get better at it
and hopefully it should come easier.
